I love this video. It's just maximally 90s, from the whole sound to Alanis's look. You may not realize how produced the original is (it's very well done--100% agree with Rick Beato) but you can hear in this that the song works arguably even better as a live, raw performance.
Taylor Hawkins is on drums, and it's just another reason he's missed. Nick Lashley and Jesse Tobias are on guitar, Tobias recreating his RHCP replacement's part on the original. Chris Chaney is holding it down playing Flea's original part, with some bits where he wanders off and does something a little different; those are very good, and while I do miss Flea's pop at 1:53, it's a hell of a performance.
I can't imagine not already having an opinion about Alanis if you're over the age of 30 (35?), but I'm one of those people who loved her combination of pop diva and punky rock star. The song even works a little more downtempo as an even grungier bit of Alt Rock history.

David Lee Roth was back on stage last Thursday (March 23rd) as he joined the all-star cover band The Royal Machines for a performance of Van Halen's "Panama" in Las Vegas.
The concert took place at the Michelob Ultra Arena at the Mandalay Bay as part of a corporate event for Home Depot sales managers. Roth joined a lineup of stars including Billy Morrison, Mark McGrath, Donovan Leitch Jr., Chris Chaney, Josh Freese and Billy ldol guitarist Steve Stevens. Dave made his presence known donning bright yellow pants and delivered his signature ad-libs during the performance, that you can watch here, which was posted to Facebook by Grant Caruthers.
Morrison also posted a pic of DLR's performance with the band on Instagram:
We are big Foo Fighter fans and were heartbroken by the loss of Taylor Hawkins earlier this year 💔
We once had the pleasure of meeting him when he came to perform an intimate gig in Glasgow with Taylor Hawkins & The Coattail Riders, an unforgettable night that will live in our hearts just as with every time we were lucky enough to see him perform live. His incredible legacy as a musician and a man lives on ❤️🔥
Wanted to create our own personal, joyful tribute to him this year based on a t-shirt design he wore - you tell them T!🥁
Liked by Chris Chaney (who we also met that night 🥲💗)

Former Jane’s Addiction Bassist Chris Chaney Joins AC/DC for 2024 European Tour
Former Jane’s Addiction bassist Chris Chaney is the newest member of AC/DC.
The band tapped the musician “to carry the torch for Cliff” Williams, who has retired.
Chaney will anchor the rhythm section with new drummer Matt Laug - who joined AC/DC at 2023’s Power Trip - on the group’s European tour, its first since 2016.
The 21-date trek runs May to August.
“We can’t wait to see you all out there,” the band said.
Lead guitarist Angus Young is the only original member left in AC/DC, which also includes longtime singer Brian Johnson and rhythm guitarist Stevie Young.
Carrie Underwood used a different genre than the one she auditioned with to move from the perils of prefabricated musicians. Daughtry, a group by an American Idol finalist, are another case of that. Still, Mr. Daughtry's band does feel like a shiny hue of post-grunge, which does sound like an oxymoron, because that idiom was already a watered down version of what Seattle did during the early 90's. Nonetheless, they work. You can tell Mr. Daughtry listened to his fellow contestants, since he took some tricks from the pop music and he applied them to his tune. Check the piece on the link – this could be a fine musical confection for anyone who won a show, he just used this principle for a post-grunge that had a diet someone reading the manual for a Scandinavian pop machine complex.
