I totally forgot I’d started making this last year! I think I never posted it because I wanted to find more names, but there’s already a decent amount and I don’t feel like being that tedious about names right now lol.

It’s first & last names (separated for mix & match potential) of characters from iconic late 1970s & 1980s horror movies. I think I started looking for cheesier B-movies to pull from, but yeah it’s been a whole year so I forget.

Hauntings at the Historical McBride House

The relatively small town of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma is nestled between the county lines of Muskogee and Cherokee counties. It is a peaceful place, with small town families and respectable upbringings. But this quiet landmark of true Americana is shadowed by the eerie haunting of the Historical McBride House.

Built in 1895, the Historical McBride House was once the grand home of Dr. McBride, a local physician. McBride had the home-built in a very particular manner, inspecting and scrutinizing each and every board and nail that went into it.

Dr. McBride loved his home. It meant everything to him. He threw lavish parties that went on into the wee hours of the night, serving the finest foods and ensuring every guest was gratuitously accommodated.

It would seem the doctor enjoyed his in-home forays so much that, even in death, he chose not to give them up.

In 1982, the McBride House was purchased by current owners Chris and Cindy Black. When they first moved in, they started to notice a few strange things around the home. One night, they assumed they must have left the television set turned on. It sounded as if there was a party going on downstairs – voices, laughter, the distinct ‘clink’ of Champaign glasses, that sort of thing. Heading downstairs to turn off the television, it went to dead silence. The TV was off, lights off, there was no one in sight.

It became quickly apparent that the Black family was not alone in the home. After 25 years living in the haunted Historical McBride House, Cindy claims to know each of its ghosts very well. She even documented her phenomenal story in the recently published book ‘Ghosts of the McBride House’.

The McBride House ghost first is that of Dr. McBride himself. Cindy Black believes that the good doctor simply has no desire to leave his beloved home and lavish lifestyle. McBride is, for obvious reasons, assumed to be responsible for the incessant late-night parties that can be heard downstairs as late as 2 o’clock in the morning.

There is a Victorian Lady who appears now and again donning all white clothing. This particular apparition does not just haunt the Historical McBride House, but also the old army hospital across the street.

Two children, a small boy and girl, are also known to materialize in the McBride House. Perhaps these are the ghosts that enjoy scaring guests of the home by sitting on their beds at night and sometimes shaking them. Guests have also reported the whispers of disembodied voices speaking directly into their ears as they try to sleep.

Cindy insists that the ghosts haunting the Historical McBride House are not mean or vengeful in any way. In fact, she almost paints a picture of a playful atmosphere, stating that they like to have fun with the living in mischievous, sometimes even comical ways.

Apparently the ghosts like to take things from the Black family as well as guests of the home. We’re not talking about moving a loaf of bread that has been sitting on the counter for a few hours, but things people are actually using at the time. You turn your back for one instant and when you turn around again, whatever you were just working with could be gone. These things tend to turn up in strange places later on, but certainly nowhere a person of sound mind would have placed them.

Mrs. Black was terribly frightened of the McBride House ghosts when her and her husband first purchased the property, but now they seem to be little more than co-ed residents that the family has simply gotten used to over the years.

So here’s the WIP project I was talking about, or at least the second part of it. Was working on a large height/sheet and subtle personalised redesigns of all the Sin Kid characters I included in my headcanon.

Here, we have Stephanie, Cindy, Kimberly, Lemy, Lyle, Gordon, Allie, and Lina (based more on Patanu’s version, because I like the design more, and I’m not a fan of Samcoln so this version isn’t related to Lincoln). Previous lot was posted an hour ago (or 12, if this is posted at my 6am).

Y’know, posting these again makes me kinda wanna pick this project up again, if nothing else so I can get to my own characters. Who knows, maybe it’ll revitalise my interest in this whole AU again.

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani take love fest to Nashville as they credit songwriters for making dreams come true

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani brought their honeymoon tour to Nashville last week where they celebrated more than their recent wedding.

Shelton headlined Music City's Bridgestone Arena on Sept. 9. But before the show, the couple joined Shelton's record label group Warner Music Nashville, BMI and a small, exclusive group of songwriters and publishers for an outdoor event to recognize the chart-topping success of Stefani and Shelton's duets "Nobody But You" and "Happy Anywhere."

The songs are Shelton's 27th and 28th No. 1 country hits, and Stefani's first and second. The couple held hands and walked on stage to make speeches to thank the songs' writers — and each other.

"Blake Shelton, thank you for letting me ride your coat tails all this time," Stefani said. "I truly am a fish out of water. I'm from Orange County, but I'm wearing cowboy boots for this. I am such a fan of songwriting and writers. When Blake asked me to be on 'Happy Anywhere,' I cried because I was so excited about it. The song is so 'our song' and we're so in love and it really is the perfect way to describe us. When I heard 'Nobody But You' I was so blown away by the song I was jealous that I wasn't on it."

Shelton said they were initially nervous to release duets back-to-back because they weren't sure country radio would support two in a row. Soon after "Nobody But You" went to No. 1, Shelton remembers he drove out of his cornfield, climbed out of his tractor and hopped on a conference call with his team to discuss his next radio single. They sorted through several songs in search of his next solo hit, but everyone agreed "Happy Anywhere" was their favorite. The staff at Warner Music Nashville was charged with going to country radio to say: "Thanks for the last duet, here's another one," Shelton said.

"[We] were laughing earlier that we now know we have to put Gwen on every song I release from now on if we want it to work," Shelton said. "'Austin' (Shelton's first No. 1 song) was 20 years ago this year. To think that 20 years later I would still be standing here [celebrating hit songs] is my dream come true, and it's because of the songwriters in this town."

Songwriters in the crowd included Ross Copperman, Josh Osborne and Tommy Lee James who wrote "Nobody But You" with Shane McAnally. Matt Jenkins, who co-wrote "Happy Anywhere" with Copperman and Osborne, also showed up.

Shelton hopes they keep the songs coming. And, Warner Music Nashville Chairman and CEO John Esposito predicted Shelton has decades of hits in front of him.

"We're just at the beginning of this journey," said Esposito, who pointed out Shelton has 8.5 billion global streams to his credit. "I know in our pocket we have what will be his 29th No. 1 song."

Following the No. 1 party, Shelton and team caravanned the short distance to Bridgestone Arena where the singer's Friends and Heroes Tour filled the seats later that night. Backstage, Warner Music Nashville surprised Shelton with a gargantuan plaque commemorating 20 years of No. 1 singles.

Stefani took out her phone and shot video of the presentation and then zoomed in for a closer look at each of Shelton's single covers, which were displayed in miniature on the plaque.

"I told you 12 years ago that we were going to build a building around you and we did," Esposito told Shelton.

The 6'5" country singer leaned down to take a closer look at his new trophy and quipped: "I'm trying to figure out which of these songs I'm not doing tonight that I should be."

Shelton and Stefani posed for pictures with his newest wall art, bending down behind it because it was too heavy to lift. Esposito took Stefani's phone and snapped a few pictures of the couple just for them to see.

A few minutes later, Shelton headed to the stage to launch his portion of the show. Contemporary country singer/guitarist Lindsay Ell kicked off the night, but when Shelton took over the spotlight was firmly pointed at his heroes and mentors.

"God bless country music, everyone," Shelton bellowed at his enthusiastic crowd. "I'm excited for you all tonight because you have no clue what's about to happen. It's going to take a long time, and I hope you called in sick to work tomorrow."

Over the course of the night, Shelton shared his stage with beloved '90s country hitmakers Tracy Byrd, John Anderson, Martina McBride and Trace Adkins — and of course his new bride. The couple performed the hit songs they just celebrated.

"I forgot the words to 'Nobody But You' because I was staring at her going, 'Oh my God, I'm married to Gwen Stefani," Shelton told the audience.

After the show, the pair walked backstage hand-in-hand.

Hauntings at the Historical McBride House

The relatively small town of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma is nestled between the county lines of Muskogee and Cherokee counties. It is a peaceful place, with small town families and respectable upbringings. But this quiet landmark of true Americana is shadowed by the eerie haunting of the Historical McBride House.

Built in 1895, the Historical McBride House was once the grand home of Dr. McBride, a local physician. McBride had the home-built in a very particular manner, inspecting and scrutinizing each and every board and nail that went into it.

Dr. McBride loved his home. It meant everything to him. He threw lavish parties that went on into the wee hours of the night, serving the finest foods and ensuring every guest was gratuitously accommodated.

It would seem the doctor enjoyed his in-home forays so much that, even in death, he chose not to give them up.

In 1982, the McBride House was purchased by current owners Chris and Cindy Black. When they first moved in, they started to notice a few strange things around the home. One night, they assumed they must have left the television set turned on. It sounded as if there was a party going on downstairs – voices, laughter, the distinct ‘clink’ of Champaign glasses, that sort of thing. Heading downstairs to turn off the television, it went to dead silence. The TV was off, lights off, there was no one in sight.

It became quickly apparent that the Black family was not alone in the home. After 25 years living in the haunted Historical McBride House, Cindy claims to know each of its ghosts very well. She even documented her phenomenal story in the recently published book ‘Ghosts of the McBride House’.

The McBride House ghost first is that of Dr. McBride himself. Cindy Black believes that the good doctor simply has no desire to leave his beloved home and lavish lifestyle. McBride is, for obvious reasons, assumed to be responsible for the incessant late-night parties that can be heard downstairs as late as 2 o’clock in the morning.

There is a Victorian Lady who appears now and again donning all white clothing. This particular apparition does not just haunt the Historical McBride House, but also the old army hospital across the street.

Two children, a small boy and girl, are also known to materialize in the McBride House. Perhaps these are the ghosts that enjoy scaring guests of the home by sitting on their beds at night and sometimes shaking them. Guests have also reported the whispers of disembodied voices speaking directly into their ears as they try to sleep.

Cindy insists that the ghosts haunting the Historical McBride House are not mean or vengeful in any way. In fact, she almost paints a picture of a playful atmosphere, stating that they like to have fun with the living in mischievous, sometimes even comical ways.

Apparently the ghosts like to take things from the Black family as well as guests of the home. We’re not talking about moving a loaf of bread that has been sitting on the counter for a few hours, but things people are actually using at the time. You turn your back for one instant and when you turn around again, whatever you were just working with could be gone. These things tend to turn up in strange places later on, but certainly nowhere a person of sound mind would have placed them.

Mrs. Black was terribly frightened of the McBride House ghosts when her and her husband first purchased the property, but now they seem to be little more than co-ed residents that the family has simply gotten used to over the years.

The residents of Hollyoaks were gripped by fear when it appeared that there was a killer amongst them in 2011. After killing India Longford in December 2010, Silas made plans for Lynsey Nolan to become his next victim. Fortunately, Lynsey was saved from harm when Riley Costello, Silas’ grandson, heard her screams and Silas made his escape. However, Lynsey knew that Silas was her attacker, sparking off a game of cat and mouse between the pair...

Lynsey’s obsession with Silas cost her her job, home and friends but she refused to give up. Meanwhile, having discovered that Mercedes had been cheating on Riley, Silas kidnapped her and planned to kill her once she’d given birth. As Halloween approached, Silas’ downfall began when he accidentally killed his own daughter, Heidi, mistaking her for Lynsey. The police finally began to take Lynsey’s claims seriously and Silas was arrested, whilst Mercedes was saved just in the nick of time. 

Jacqui’s Rape:

Hollyoaks explored the issue of consent in early 2011, when Jacqui McQueen accused Gilly Roach of raping her. Having slept with Jacqui, the girlfriend of his best pal, Rhys, Gilly insisted that their drunken night together was consensual. But with Jacqui insisting that she had not consented, Gilly was arrested and the case went to trial. In a unique move, Hollyoaks invited a selection of viewers to act as members of the jury for the case. After both parties gave their accounts of events, the jury decided that there was insufficient evidence to charge Gilly, and he was found not guilty. However, some months later, Gilly admitted to not seeking consent from Jacqui.

Esther’s Arrival:

Tom found himself in a whole heap of bother in January when he attacked an intruder at the Osborne’s house. The intruder, a young woman, introduced herself to Frankie as her Granddaughter, Esther, and she was quickly invited into the family. However, Tom’s actions came back to haunt him when he was sent to a youth court for the attack. 

Mercedes’ Affair:

After Seth discovered her affair with Carl, Mercedes took drastic action to stop him telling Riley, and lied that she was pregnant! Riley was overjoyed by the news but Mercedes was faced with a big dilemma. How would she break the news that she wasn’t really pregnant? Myra soon came up with the perfect solution to her daughter’s predicament when Mercedes took a tumble at The Loft some weeks later.  Riley insisted on rushing her to hospital, where Mercedes was given the shock of her life - she really was pregnant after all! 

Over the months that followed, Mercedes and Riley planned their wedding, all the while, Mercedes kept the truth about her affair secret. However, Mercedes was hit by an uncharacteristic pang of guilt as she walked down the aisle, and she told Riley and the shocked congregation everything! Riley was devastated as Mercedes revealed that she couldn’t be sure who her baby’s Father was, and Mercedes’ actions incurred the wrath of Silas, who promptly kidnapped her, and locked her up in a vault under The Dog, planning to kill her once she’d given birth. Mercedes was eventually rescued when the truth about Silas’ murders came to light and Mercedes later gave birth to baby Bobby. 

Bart/Jason/Sinead:

Teenagers, Bart and Sinead’s, relationship didn’t go down too well with their families, so the pair fled the village! However, the pair quickly discovered that being Chester’s answer to Romeo and Juliet wasn’t all it was cracked up to be when they ran out of cash. Luckily, Jason was on hand to help and arrived with some money, much to the annoyance of Sinead. Infuriated by Jason’s presence, Sinead stormed off, leaving Bart and Jason to fend for themselves. However, Bart and Jason soon found themselves confronted with a shotgun when they broke into a house to look for food, and the pair were soon locked up in the owner’s cellar. With nothing else to do, the pair had a heart-to-heart, which quickly lead to a kiss. But, a heartbroken Sinead was just outside. And had heard everything...

Britzeee:

Wannabe wag, Mitzeee, was stunned when she caught Brendan and Ste kissing and soon decided to turn the situation to her advantage, telling Brendan that she would keep his secret if he became her manager! And so, Britzeee was born! 

Separately, 2011 was an eventful year for both Brendan and Mitzeee. Over the Summer Brendan would be joined in the village by his teenage son, Declan, and he would soon be left with plenty of explaining to do when Declan walked in on him beating Ste! Brendan found himself spending much of the latter part of the year in prison when Silas framed him for Rae’s murder, whilst Mitzeee feared for her life when she discovered that Warren had murdered his ex, Louise Summers.

Hollyoaks Later

Our annual late-night dose of Hollyoaks returned in September. Stories this time centred on the McQueen’s trip to Ibiza for Mercedes hen do, Silas’ hunt for another victim, culminating in the murder of Rae and Riley’s stag do, which saw Seth believe he had killed a stripper. Lives were in peril in a white water rafting accident whilst there were japes aplenty as Duncan and Ricky headed to fat camp! 

Other stories:

Cindy returned to the village in March, minus her new husband, Alistair, and daughter Holly. She soon revealed that Alistair had died after falling off an Alp, leaving her a millionaire! She used the money to enrol Holly in boarding school and open up her own spa, ‘Cinergy’.

Ste was heartbroken to learn that Lee and Amy were moving to New York, taking Leah and Lucas with them. However, at the eleventh hour, Amy decided to stay, and Lee left the village alone.

Theresa’s life was left hanging in the balance after she fell down a lift shaft.

There were big changes at Hollyoaks High when it was turned into a 6th form college, and we were introduced to new students, Maddie, Tilly, Jono, Neil, Callum and George. 

HCC also gained some new students as Annalise, Ash, Barney, Scott and Rob joined as freshers.

Suzanne Ashworth returned to the village, pregnant with Darren’s twins! She gave birth to Francine and Jack in the 3000th episode. Meanwhile, Darren got together with Nancy.

At Christmas, Doug contemplated suicide. However, he was visited by the spirit of Steph Dean, who convinced him that his life was sill worth living. 

Liberty was joined in the village by her Father, Dirk and her Brothers, Dodger and Will.
