Tumblr media
includes: silly sunday hcs, potential story spoilers, maybe ooc im still feeling him out, praise, degradation, riding crops, his hands…, and gender neutral reader!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
very poignantly the hopeless romantic type. he’s always functioned as a ‘singularity’ of sorts and over the years developed a certain fondness of it, even if it hurts. it’s worth noting he vividly reminds me of the line ‘i miss the comfort in being sad,’ from nirvanas ‘Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge on Seattle.’ he’s the type of partner to always be stuck in that self-absorbed martyr mindset a little bit.
pragmatic to a fault. Sunday is deeply a skeptic, take his departure from the harmony in favour of the order, as an example. it’s cool because it means you’ll never have to worry about any technicalities but it also means he has a hard time letting go of control or being spontaneous.
very into more subtle romantic gestures and an absolute gentleman. you’ll have flowers at your door at least once a week and he makes sure to take all of your preferences into consideration when planning dates (he will be the one planning). keeps his hand on your lower back most of the time, the waist is far too scandalous!!
not a big texter. he prefers speaking face to face and will call if he can’t come see you. that said, he’ll make sure to like or respond to all of the silly pictures and messages you send, even if it’s a dry ‘haha’ or just a heart. occasionally, you’ll find that he’s sent you a letter, ask about and he’ll shrug and say he simply wanted something more heartfelt if he’s to communicate written. he’s got a special stamp to seal the ones he sends you.
grabs your phone when you go to show him something. no explanation i just feel it in my bones.
although he’s no singer, he’s still a classically trained musician. i imagine he was taught the violin but went on to learn his preferred instrument, the harp, himself. he’s a bit shy about playing so rather than asking, just wait until he thinks it’s late and you’re not around to hear; he’s got quite the set of fingers.
…speaking of fingers, my bread and butter, he’s beyond skilled with playing you. while he enjoys getting down to business, getting to leisurely spread you open and thrum against all your nerves gets him going. could spend hours having you laid out, in his lap, on the floor, wherever, just gently coaxing you open, wet, and pliant for himself.
off of that, he likes you best worn down to soft edges and weak desperation. getting to play the saviour, making you come undone, has him stiff in his pants.
lots of sweet praise and subtle degradation. things like, “you want to be good for me, don’t you my sweet?,” or, “now, now, don’t get greedy on me. be patient, silly thing, and i’ll appease all of your foolish whims,” annddd, “come now, you’ve been so well for me, angel, don’t ruin that with any useless whines.”
he’s not one for being too harsh against you but push the right buttons and you’ll get a ‘dumb’ or ‘stupid’ here and there. Sunday doesn’t curse but he knows his way around how to make you feel inferior and looked down upon.
he likes the power play of staying fully and pristinely clothed while your completely nude, save for maybe a pretty collar he’s got you belled with. if you’re real trouble, say maybe a no good criminal causing problems on Penacony and once arrested you’re at his disposal and oh so pretty, he’ll find a nice muzzle to fix you with.
strikes, no pun intended, me as the type to have an affinity for riding crops over anything else for punishments. you’ll get the same sugarcoated degradation while he comments on how you’re not even good enough to be so close to his gloved hand that he just must use the crop!! (he likes the pretty bruises it leaves).

OC Deep Dive Questionnaire Tag
A set of 20 questions to get to know your OC!
Tagged by @nocturnalazure
Today is an excellent day to answer this for pre-revolution Nicolas. Tomorrow would have been a bit more complicated.
What uncommon/common fear do they have?
He’s very confident and not easily cowed. His double-life being exposed is of course the thing he wants to avoid most of all. But he sees this more as a risk than as a fear.
Do they have any pet peeves?
He has no patience with dilettantes who get their facts wrong about art-history.
What are 3 items you can find in their bedroom?
Books; an Egyptian scarab which was given to him as a lucky charm; a painting of the Forum Romanum from his Grand Tour.
What do they notice first in a person?
General appearance and demeanour. (Bonus fact: What immediately attracted him to Jonathan was that he has vaguely classical features – and what totally got him was that he speaks French with a Scottish accent)
On a scale of 1 to 10, how high is their pain tolerance?
7-8. He was brought up not to be whiny. But he's had a comfortable life in good health so far.
Do they go into fight or flight mode when under pressure?
His instinct would rather be flight (or solve the problem with money and/or influence), but if duty binds him to fight, he will stand his ground.
Do they come from a big family/are they a family person?
Not really. He grew up with only his mother as immediate family. He saw enough of his parents’ marriage as a boy to get rather disillusioned. On the other hand he’s proud of his family’s legacy and never questioned his duty to continue it. He does try to be a better husband and father than his own. But if he were just an average person of today, he wouldn’t have wanted any children. He’d be content to travel the world with Jonathan, but actually Jonathan wants more of a family-life.
What animal represents them best?
He always reminds me of a cat, being very neat and taking his privileges entirely for granted.
What is a smell that they dislike?
He lives in a time where various kinds of stench are so common that he’s glad enough to avoid those.
Have they broken any bones?
See above - he's had a comfortable life in good health so far.
How would a stranger likely describe them?
“Arrogant idiot” (Matt)
Are they a night owl or a morning bird?
He moves in circles where it’s not unusual to rise at noon, so the interesting things tend to happen in the evenings and at night. When he’s working by himself, he prefers the early hours for their better light.
What is a flavor they hate and a flavor they love?
The likes coffee, both for its aroma and as a status symbol. He doesn’t like coarse food, like gruel or badly prepared cabbage.
Do they have any hobbies?
As an aristocrat, studying Antiquity is officially his hobby, not his job. But it’s his true calling and he even made some money from it. Apart from that, he’s always ready to join in any pastime suggested by the group he’s with.
Boom, surprise birthday party! How do they react to surprises?
He’d pretend not to be surprised at all – but there’s no way he would have forgotten to organize his own birthday party. At home, this would be a very dignified meet-and-greet. In Italy it would be a picnic by some scenic ruins with good wine and a select circle of friends (plus their travelling-companions, private secretaries, or whatever they wish to call them).
Do they like to wear jewelry?
No. He retired the family’s signet ring and had a more practical stamp made for sealing letters. (Like all my characters he doesn’t wear a wedding ring because those are are such clumsy meshes, a nuisance to put on in CAS and only add to the blur of other accessories.)
Do they have neat or messy handwriting?
Neat handwriting, signature with lots of frills
What are two emotions they feel the most?
Mild amusement, cool stubbornness
Do they have a favorite fabric?
Anything that looks and feels like high quality. Not necessarily limited to a particular material.
What kind of accent do they have?
A French one, when he speaks English. His Italian is accent-free and his French is supposed to be very posh (if only my own weren't so poor!)

a final dance
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: steve harrington x henderson!reader summary: steve harrington was someone you’ve always seen as unobtainable, a night behind a mask changes that. warnings: curse words, reader wears glasses btw! a/n: when you dive deep back into writing, you simultaneously have about 3 WIPs, this is one of them. if you see any mistakes, no you didn't Part 1 of 2
The moon cast a bright light over the depths of the forest, creating a glow in the middle of the night. The wind whispered softly, the trees feeling its limbs move with every whisper it spoke. The dirt beneath your heels sunk with every movement, your dress bunched up in your clammy palms as you desperately searched for your lover.
“Steve?” You spoke aloud in the dark, your neck twisting every way to catch a glimpse of your lover.
The cracking of leaves over to your left made you jump, your heart begins to race, feeling every pump of blood coursing through you as you dragged yourself closer to the sound. You peer around a tree when you see him standing there, standing tall as the moonlight cast a glow over his face.
His jaw is set sharp, eyes as brown as honey that could see into your soul, caramel colored hair that moved gently with the wind, there he was in all his glory. His eyes meet yours and a sense of relief enters you. The corners of his lip twist into a smile, he rushes over to you, his white chemise only buttoned halfway, his dark curls from his chest peek out proudly.
“My love” he murmurs, his large hands reach up and touch your face. He’s so much bigger than you but you feel so safe and secure in his arms. Your hands find themselves grabbing onto his forearms.
“Steve, my love, we mustn’t see each other anymore, it’s too dangerous, I can’t risk losing you” tears of desperation prick at the corner of your eyes as you both grasp each other in such a heated moment.
“I’d rather die a thousand deaths than never see you again” he states, brushing your tears away with a swipe of his thumbs.
“I need you to do something for me” he suddenly says, his face is much closer to yours, the tips of your nose lightly rub against his and you’re so close to tasting him, to feel his lips against yours. You close your eyes to relish in the feeling.
“Anything Steve” you whimper.
“I need you to wake up”
Your eyes shoot open, you stare at Steve with your eyebrow raised to the sky.
“Huh?”
“Henderson, I need you to wake up” he says again, more firmly. You remove your hands from his biceps and you pull away from him. Steve stares at you blankly as he opens his mouth again to speak but this time he sounds like … Dustin?
“WAKE UP!”
You jolt up from your bed, gasping heavily as you take in your surroundings. The dark forest is long gone, your lover Steve was just a figment of your overactive imagination. You brush a hand over your face, you check the clock, 7:15 AM, fuck. The pounding on your door continues as you try to bring yourself back to reality
“Jesus Christ Dustin I’m up I’m up!” You scream at him.
“Eddie’s gonna be here in 10! And if you’re not ready by then then you’re on your own!”
You groan loudly, running a hand through your messy hair.
Another dumb dream about your stupid crush on stupid Steve Harrington.
As if he would ever look your way anyways.
Your eyes scan across your room. Your walls are littered with medals and awards, two large bookcases on the side of your room that hold literary classics from Mary Austen, Mary Shelley, JRR Tolkien, ones that you loved to reread in your free time. A messy desk on the other side of your room with large textbooks neatly stacked next to your lamp, your finished homework laying right in the middle.
Being a Henderson in Hawkins, Indiana meant that there was a large stamp on your forehead in bold, red letters that screamed nerd. Your little brother was just as bad, if not a little worse than you. It’s how you ended up becoming best friends with the local pariah in town, Eddie Munson. He took your little brother under his wing a couple years ago after long nights of D&D campaigning at the school. To Dustin, Eddie was like an older brother he never had, and to you Eddie was like the stupid, annoying, yet loveable best friend who took your fries way too often at lunch.
And then there was Robin, your other best friend. You had met Robin in band class after you had tried out to play the flute which you then realized that you had absolutely no music talent and quit the next semester. You and Robin however, managed to get seated next to each other and she soon become your best friend after you tossed a drumstick at Jason Carver’s head for calling Robin a slur. You saw the way she stiffened up and as tears began to pool around her eyes.
Maybe it was because you were bullied for most of your life, but you could not stand to see others being taken down.
“Hey Carver, munch on this you fuckface” you tell him as you chucked a drumstick at his large and stupid head.
You got sent to the principal office but in return you got a best friend. You wouldn’t have changed that for the world.
You stretch your limbs, your hands reaching up to the sky, you grab your glasses on your nightstand, shoving them on your face as you jump out of bed. You quickly throw on a pair of jeans and sweater, your black converse to match. You rush into the bathroom to brush your teeth and wash your face when you hear Eddie’s horn blast from the outside.
You grab your homework and shove it into your backpack, racing past Dustin to grab an apple in the kitchen.
“Did your alarm break or something? I can’t keep waking you up ya know!” Dustin scolds you. You turn to face him, apple now in your mouth as you drop your bag to put on your jean jacket. You take a big bite as the apple returns to your hand,
“Sowee Dusty, won’th happenth again” you say, mouth full of apple as he walks right past you to open the door. You follow right behind him to Eddie’s van, Dustin taking shotgun while you take a seat in the back.
“Hendersons! Good morrow to you both!” Eddie exclaims.
“Ugh Eddie you’re too happy for a Tuesday morning” you groan, still trying to wake yourself up.
Eddie leans towards Dustin, “Jeez someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed” he whispers, albeit loudly.
“She woke up late, I think she had another dream about Harrington”
“Ah makes sense”
“Hey!” You snap at the two boys, “I heard that and I resent that!”
“So you did dream about Harrington” Eddie states plainly, pulling the car in reverse, easing out of your driveway.
“No!”
A pause, then a large groan. You shove your face in your hands,
“Ugh fine, yes”
“Ew, gross! I don’t know what you see in that asshole anyways” Dustin says.
“He’s not an asshole! He’s changed I swear, he doesn’t hang out with Tommy and Carol anymore and the other day he asked me for a pencil” you state that last part proudly.
It was true, something in Steve had changed within the last couple of months. Maybe it was his breakup with Nancy Wheeler, or maybe something else had happened to him, you weren’t sure. But what you were sure of is that he actually was starting to notice you, give you soft smiles in class, ask you more questions about assignments. He even stopped hanging with Tommy and Carol which to you felt like you were in the twilight zone for a second. This just intensified your crush even more - you just had to convince your best friends and little brother that he had changed.
“Whoa no way? He actually spoke to you? Maybe he’ll ask for your hand in marriage next”
You shove your brothers elbow, “Fuck off Dustin” you mumble, taking an angry bite out of your apple.
“Hey, hey Hendersons, it’s far too early to be arguing in the morning. Especially over an asshole like Harrington” Eddie waves his hand
“Eddie! You’re not helping!”
“Whaaaat? You know I hate jocks, especially ones who throw balls in basket” he shakes his head, his brown curls jumping with every movement.
“Thank you Eddie, at least someone here has a brain” Dustin glares at you, disappointed that his genius of an older sister just has to have the hots for Steve.
You snort, “Okay as if I’m not going to graduate top of the class this year”
“Exactly, you’re going to go off to college and he’s just going to throw balls at baskets for the rest of his life, it’s just how the universe works” Eddie says, as if it’s the simplest thing in the world.
Before you can retort back the van comes to stop in front of Robin’s house. Eddie honks his horn, a second later Robin comes bouncing out of her house,
“Please, please, please don’t mention anything to Robin. It’s enough having you two chastise me” you grumble at the two boys in front.
Eddie and Dustin share a look, a look that you’ve seen before. You can’t trust them when they’re both together, they’re both turned against you too many times - always out numbering you 2 to 1. Robin opens the van door,
“Morning guys!” She cheerily greets the three of you. She takes the seat right next to you, placing her book bag on the floor. Dustin and Eddie mumble a good morning up front. Her eyes start to shift from you, then to the boys up front. Robin has good intuition, you can’t hide anything from her.
“Ooooh, you dreamt about Harrington again didn’t you?”
You place your head in your hands as Dustin and Eddie snicker up front,
“Jesus fucking Christ”
—
After waving Dustin goodbye, the three of you walk into school side by side, Eddie on your right, and Robin on your left. Everyone at Hawkins knew the three of you were attached at the hip, the outcast, the nerd, and the band geek.
As soon as the three of you walked in however, the halls were buzzing with people, all holding pink flyers in their hands. As the three continued to walk towards your locker there were pink flyers plastered all over the walls.
Hawkins High School School Committee Presents,
A Night in Paris
Masquerade Ball
Next Saturday at 7 PM
Eddie promptly rips one off the wall, his eyes scanning over the wording. He then turns to you, his eyes have now gone wide with excitement.
“Okay you have to go to this” he urges, shoving the paper in your chest as you spin your locker combination. Robin grabs another flyer that was stuck to the locker next to yours,
“A masquerade ball? Do we actually have the budget to do that?” She comments.
You shake your head as you take the paper from Eddie, “A masquerade ball? Yeah you know I don’t do dances” you tell him, shoving the flyer back right into his hands.
Eddie whines loudly (and dramatically) as you slam your locker shut. “B-but you can dance with Harrington! That’s the whole point of the Masquerade Ball! You’ll be all incognito” he wiggles his eyebrows at you.
“You know Munsons got a point, if you ever wanted to chance with dingus this is your chance” Robin states as the three of you continue to walk. The bell then suddenly rings, alerting the three of you to be in first period.
You sigh heavily, taking the paper back from Eddie. Maybe your best friends had a point, you weren’t one to go to dances, no one had ever asked you but a masquerade ball where everyone was in masks … that could be tempting.
“Think about it Henderson” Eddie says as he and Robin continue to walk down the hall. Robin gives you a small wave as they turn the corner and disappear. You enter your first period math class that you fortunately share with Steve. You shuffle your way to the back where you see Tommy and Carol sitting next to your seat. You plop right down next to them. Carol sitting on top of the desk obnoxiously chewing gum while Tommy humors her with whispers in her ear.
They suddenly turn their attention to you, both with a scowl on their face.
“Well if it isn’t four-eyes, I mean nerd, I mean Henderson” Carol taunts snarkily, a proud smile on her face. Tommy snickers at her comment.
You’re used to this, hell they really need to come up with better material because you’re getting bored with the same insults.
“Carol don’t you have any better insults or is your tiny brain not capable of computing anything new besides knowing how to suck Tommy’s dick behind the bleachers?”
Tommy and Carol’s jaws drop - completely taken aback by your insult. She shoves Tommy violently with her elbow, “Tommy, do something!” She hisses at him.
“Listen here you bitch - “
“Hey assholes, how about you leave her alone?” A voice suddenly enters the conversation, one that sends chills down your spine. You gaze up and see your lover - uh you mean Steve taking the seat in front of you. He’s shooting daggers at Carol and Tommy as he places his books on the desk. Carol wordlessly jumps off the desk, a permanent frown on her face as she takes the seat on the other side.
Tommy too shuts right up, but not before getting one last word in, “I’ll get you for that four eyes” he whispers harshly at you, in return you just roll your eyes.
Your eyes meet Steve’s and you give him a thin smile, mouthing to him thank you as he nods at you and takes his seat.
Class begins as usual, Mrs. Benning (or rather Ben the Hen is what they called her due to her large nature) starts class with a lecture. It starts to go smoothly until she does this thing where she picks on students who clearly aren’t paying attention.
And for whatever reason she loves to pick on Steve.
“Mr. Harrington, I assume you can give us the answer to number 6?” Her shrill voice echoes throughout the class. You watch as Steve stiffens in front of you, taken aback by surprise. He shifts in his seat as he pretends to flip through his textbook.
“Uh, yeah, the answer to that is …”
Desperation claws at your lovesick heart, you decide to help the poor guy out. You bring a fist to your mouth when you then cough the answer loudly enough for him to hear,
“72!” He shouts proudly.
However, subtly wasn’t your middle name.
Mrs. Benning narrows her eyes at you, “Miss. Henderson, I recall calling Mr. Harrington not you” she snaps.
All eyes are suddenly on you, shit, you were not good at this whole subtle thing. However Carol and Tommy put you in a sour mood and the whole masquerade ball has your head in a tizzy so your tolerance levels are at low - very low.
“Well Mrs. Benning I don’t think it’s fair to pick on students who clearly don’t have their hands up, I mean would you like it if someone picked on you just to purposely embarrass you?”
The whole class gasps, even Steve at this point turns over and stares at you incredulously with a gaping smile. Mrs. Benning however, has fumes coming out of her hair, you swear you saw the chalk in her hand break in half.
“I mean I’m just saying, it’s no fun either way right?” You finish politely, returning a smile at her.
She lifts her hand and points to the door, “Principal's office, now” she orders through gritted teeth.
You sigh loudly, grabbing your books and bag from the floor. This isn’t the first time your smart mouth has gotten you into trouble, you don’t care too much though at this point, you have bigger things to worry about.
You head towards the door and out into the empty hallway. You’re about to make the corner turn to the office till you hear a voice yell your name,
“Henderson! Wait up!”
You freeze in your steps, that voice, it sends shivers down your spine. You turn around and see Steve running towards you, his brown hair flopping over his face as he catches up with you.
“H-hey Steve, what’s up?” you say, trying your hardest to keep it casual though your heart feels like it’s about to pound out of your chest.
“What you did back there … That was amazing, no one has ever stood up for me before. I just wanted to say thanks.” His brown eyes gaze into yours and for a second you forget to breathe. You can count all the freckles and moles on his face, you’ve never been this close to him before. As heat begins to exude from you, your glasses begin to embarrassedly fog up - something that tends to happen when you get riled up too much.
“Oh, your glasses - here, let me” Steve reaches down towards you, his large hand rests on your face for just a second as he gently tugs your glasses off your face. You stand there, in absolute shock, your brain trying to process what had just happened. You watch as he takes your glasses and cleans it with his shirt,
“I - I sometimes wear glasses to read, it happens to me too”
“You do?” You squeak out. Your absolute prince of a man wears glasses?
“Yeah but let’s just keep that between us, it’ll be our little secret” he winks at you as he finishes cleaning the last lens. He then turns to look at you, really look at you, without your glasses.
“Huh, you’re cute without your glasses” he casually comments. But he realizes what he said and he begins to backtrack, “I - I mean not that you’re not cute with them! It’s just that I can see your eyes more. You have pretty eyes” he concludes.
Someone needs to come and pinch you because it feels like you’re dreaming. Steve Harrington - THE Steve Harrington calling you cute? You could die.
You continue to gaze at him as if god broke the mold when he made him. Through thick lashes you watch him, palms clammy and feet rooted to the ground.
He carefully places the glasses back onto your face, his lips curved upward into a small smile.
“T-thank you Steve” you manage to speak out, swallowing a large lump that was stuck in your throat.
“Hey it’s no problem - “ he pauses as his attention turns to the pink flyer that is stuck behind you. He reached towards it, grabbing it off the wall.
“You going to this?” He asks.
“Uh … yeah?” You manage to say but in your head it just sounds like jumbled words.
“Cool, maybe I’ll see you there then. Catch you later Henderson” he gives you another wink as he begins to head back to class. You watch him as he disappears back into class, but your legs are glued to the floor, your mind still reeling from the interaction you had.
Well damn, now you had to go to the masquerade ball. You were never going to hear the end of it from Eddie and Robin.

Princeton University is on the verge of promoting a professor who participated in the occupation of a campus building that disrupted university operations and led to more than a dozen arrests, according to an email reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon.FreeBeacon
The university has recommended that the classics scholar Dan-el Padilla Peralta, who along with 13 anti-Israel student protesters stormed Princeton’s historic Clio Hall in April, be promoted from associate to full professor, pending the approval of the university’s board of trustees. Peralta already has tenure, but the promotion would make him eligible for university leadership roles, including deanships.
"I'm sure you will want to join me in congratulating Dan-el on his promotion to a full professorship," the chair of the classics department, Barbara Graziosi, wrote to her colleagues on July 18. "This is still 'unofficial' news, because the Board of Trustees will have to rubber stamp the recommendation made by the committee that oversees promotions, but I was told I am allowed to share the news internally and do so with glee."
The board is all but certain to accept the recommendation, professors familiar with the matter said, given that the group signs off on virtually all appointments. Princeton and Peralta did notrespond to requests for comment.
The promotion comes as Princeton’s peer universities have taken a soft-on-crime approach to the unlawful and at times violent protests that have rocked campuses since the Oct. 7 terrorist attacks. The Harvard Corporation this month reversed its decision to withhold degrees from 11 students who led an encampment in Harvard yard, one of whom is a Rhodes Scholar set to attend Oxford University next year. Other schools, including Northwestern and Middlebury, ended their encampments by negotiating with protesters and acceding to many of their demands.
At Princeton, Peralta played a leading role in the most disruptive protest the campus had experienced in years. He and another professor, sociologist Ruha Benjamin, joined 13 students in occupying Clio Hall, the home of Princeton’s graduate school administration, as 200 additional protesters cheered them on from the outside.
Police eventually warned the occupiers that they would be arrested if they did not exit the building. Peralta and Benjamin did so, but the students did not.
After a chaotic effort to stop the police—at one point the crowd surrounded a bus where two of the protesters were being held—all 13 students were arrested while the professors who had encouraged them escaped without sanction.
The showdown followed a four day sit-in in the university’s McCosh Courtyard, where several Princeton faculty members, including Peralta, had delivered remarks. Though the sit-in relocated to another part of campus after the occupation of Clio Hall, it was allowed to continue in its new location for over a week.
A classicist who argues that "whiteness" is inseparable from classics, Peralta is perhaps Princeton’s most prominent scholar-activist.
He spearheaded a faculty letter in 2020 that called on the university to give minority professors extra pay and sabbatical time—compensation for their "invisible work," the letter said—and is a vocal supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement, which calls for an economic boycott of the Jewish state.
During the sit-in in April, Peralta also proposed a faculty resolution granting amnesty to "students and other university affiliates involved in peaceful free speech and assembly for justice in Palestine." The non-binding resolution passed narrowly in May and condemned the university’s decision to discipline the students who stormed Clio Hall.
Unlike Harvard, which promised harsh sanctions before walking them back, Princeton was lenient from the get-go: A university spokeswoman announced in May that the students were unlikely to get more than probation.

Caught in the Rain (Sebastian Edition)
-OR-
In the Shadow of Rain Clouds
Summary: Sebastian and MC are on a shopping trip to Hogsmeade, but it looks like rain… (Sebastian Sallow x f!MC)
Rating: PG
Warnings: Kissing in public
Word Count: 700
The clouds gathering above Hogsmeade cast cozy shadows inside Tomes and Scrolls. MC yearned to take a seat by the fire and spend the rest of the afternoon reading, Sebastian by her side. They only had a few hours to spend in the village, and the afternoon was growing late already.
She scanned the shelves, waiting for a title to catch her eye while Sebastian stood at the counter talking to Mr. Brown. “Were you able to get that book I asked about?”
“Just came in yesterday, actually,” the shopkeeper said, rummaging around behind the desk. He set a small package wrapped in brown paper and tied with string on the counter and Sebastian smiled.
“Excellent.”
MC watched from the corner of her eye as he paid for the book without removing the paper to reveal what was inside. Curiosity ate at her, fed by a small amount of apprehension. Did he not want her to know what it was? Would she disapprove?
Shaking it from her mind, MC brought her own selections to Mr. Brown and paid.
“Where to next?” Sebastian asked, holding the door open for her.
“Honeydukes?” MC suggested hopefully, leading him up the high street.
Sebastian looked at her with a knowing grin. “Of course. We should hurry before it starts-“ a raindrop splattered against his cheek. “Raining.”
Taking her hand so they wouldn’t get separated, Sebastian pulled her up the street. They found shelter outside the village square, pausing to catch their breath. There was just enough room for them underneath the stone archway, backs pressed against the brick across from Glad Rags.
Stay droplets left wet circles on their clothes and faces. Sebastian put his arm around MC, pulling her close so they could center themselves better. She leaned her head on his shoulder, perfectly happy to be surrounded by him and the sound of the rain.
“I suppose this is as good a time as any.” Sebastian drew the paper-wrapped book from its hiding place in his robes, where it had been spared from the rain. “This is for you.”
MC looked down at the parcel he pressed into her hands, eyes widening with surprise. “Sebastian, you shouldn’t have.”
“Oh, hush. Open it.”
Paper and string rustled under her fingers as she peeled back the wrapping. A light green covered stared up at her, with a title she didn’t recognize.
“The Tales of Beedle the Bard?” MC looked from the book to Sebastian. The excitement in his eyes was contagious, but she still didn’t know exactly what she was holding.
“It’s a collection of children’s stories. Something of a classic,” Sebastian explained. “Most witches and wizards grow up hearing these at bedtime. I didn’t want you to miss out just because you grew up with muggles.”
Tears pricked at MC’s eyes as she traced the letters stamped into the cover. She had told Sebastian how much she loved reading muggle fairy tales, but she never knew a book like this existed. And she’d had the nerve to wonder if he was hiding something wicked from her. “Thank you, Sebastian. I love it.”
His other hand rose to cradle her cheek, his brown eyes gazing into hers. “And I love that smile.”
Sebastian’s lips grazed hers, a barely-there kiss that was either a question or a promise. With one hand holding the book to her chest, the other gripped the front of Sebastian’s robes. She pulled him into another kiss, deep and hungry, and his hand slid from her cheek to tangle in her hair.
“Get a room!”
Startled, they parted and looked over at an unfamiliar Ravenclaw standing in the door to Glad Rags.
“Mind your business, mate!” Sebastian called over. He looked back at MC. “Should know it only makes me want to kiss you more.”
Their lips met again, though the reminder they were in public removed a little of the heat between them. MC broke away first, breathless when she spoke.
“I think the rain is stopping.”
“So?”
MC blushed as the words left her lips. “So maybe we could go somewhere a little more private.”
A grin bloomed on Sebastian’s face as he took her hand. “Your wish is my command.”
A/N: I’m thinking of making this into a series where I take the same idea and write a little vignette for each of the boys. Is that something y’all would be interested in?

I’ve written a little about original content in the Doraemon anime that I’m not a big fan of, but there are other cases where I think it can be quite good. One of these is the episode “できすぎラブレター” (approximate translation: “Over-the-top Love Letter”) from the 1979 anime series. It aired in 2005, making it one of the final episodes of the classic Doraemon anime. Although it is an adaptation of the manga chapter “もはん手紙ペン” (“Model Letter-writing Pen”, which I mentioned previously here), the story has been substantially modified.
In the manga, there is a gag in which Nobita tries to use the Model Letter-writing Pen to write a letter to Shizuka, only to end up penning an... age-inappropriate message, because the age setting on the pen had been incorrectly specified. After Doraemon fixes the problem, this incident never comes up again. The episode, on the other hand, makes it the focus of the story.
In this version, Nobita writes the letter alone in the park, instead of at home. There, he is spotted by Suneo, who takes the letter and reads it, and it is then that Nobita realizes that he’d gotten the settings wrong on the pen. Suneo is intent on embarrassing Nobita by showing the letter to everyone, but the next person to read it, Dekisugi, is actually very impressed by Nobita’s writing skills. Gian, however, decides that the letter needs to be shown to Shizuka right away.
Before Gian and Suneo can take the letter to Shizuka’s house, Dekisugi steps in and tricks them(!!) into thinking that Shizuka is out shopping, which gives Nobita enough time to write letters for Gian and Suneo expressing his appreciation and admiration for them. They are so moved by Nobita’s writing that they return the letter he wrote for Shizuka and leave him in peace.
With the matter resolved, Nobita puts the letter away into an envelope... but he’d forgotten that he’d already stuck one of Doraemon’s Super-express Stamps on it. Whoops.
As expected, Shizuka is very flustered after reading Nobita’s letter and is unwilling to see him. Later that day, however, she stops by with a letter for Nobita, explaining that she’d figured out that he wouldn’t have written a letter like that on his own. After getting confirmation from Doraemon that Nobita had been affected by one of Doraemon’s gadgets, she encourages Nobita to write to her as himself, using his own words.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Dekisugi is none the wiser about how Nobita was able to write such charismatic letters. He shows up at Nobita’s door the next morning and tells him that he plans on running late to school with him, in the hope that he’ll be able to pick up the same skills by emulating Nobita’s behavior!
Tumblr media
It’s a sweet story that puts an original spin on a minor plot point from the manga, while giving some depth to almost all the characters involved without contradicting their established characterization. Well done to the anime for this one. It would have been fun to see more of this type of interaction between Nobita and Dekisugi in the manga (or the franchise in general)!

🍓 New Animal Crossing Ideas 🍓
I predicted some things in horizons let’s hope these happen too lol, my main want is more progression!
Island types: choose between a classic walled in or “forest” island, a tropical island, a snowy island, a desert island, like Happy Home Paradise! You can still pick the hemisphere. Because there’s many types, you can have multiple saves but you have the same character (to avoid online issues etc)
Transport: arrive by train, taxi, boat, water plane, or bus, depending on the type of island you pick! You can use a bike and cart when doing deliveries for Nook
You can buy and use a bike of your own as you progress, you can add a cart & a hand basket, very customisable, add decorations like flowers, bell or horn, & lights, lanterns! You can also buy & customise a caravan! (Stationary?)
Camp ground: tents and caravans overseen by Harvey, you can do cute outdoor activities like roasting marshmallows, pitching and chilling out in a tent, & cloud watching / stargazing! Celeste comes by sometimes with a telescope, you can invite her to the museum this way!
Villagers interests & hobbies: learn about villagers favourite foods, items, activities, dream job, etc. There is special dialogue when their related favourites are mentioned or with what they interact with, maybe you can encourage them to pursue their dream!
You can also invite them to do activities and mini games (they can say no if you have low friendship or are sick or enraged)
Activities: meet-ups (e.g inviting to hanging out in a certain area), and mini games, you can invite animals to do these in dialogue or letters (for later dates), you invite friends to do these via the NookPhone
Odd jobs: work for Tom Nook to pay off the first debt, Brewsters coffee job in New Leaf returns, working at Able Sisters!!! Offering styling to villagers, unlocked with Labelle? Shine shoes at Kicks? Put together bouquets requests with Leif! Cook and serve at the restaurant / café! Design shops and animals homes!
You’re payed in bells and special items. Animals can also work odd jobs depending on their interests. Doing odd jobs can increase friendship with NPC characters
Shops: Tom Nook upgrades to Nookingtons, Able Sisters has a top floor where the sister live that you can visit when you gain friendship with them, Auto Shop from Pocket Camp to buy Bikes etc, restaurant, school(?), and hospital are customisable & furnishable (happy home paradise), Gracie Gracie, Kicks, Re-tail, shampoodle, theatre (dr shrunk), Katrina fortunes, HHA, dream suite also returns
In the theatre, you can obtain emotes from Shrunk and buy cinema food & drinks. Villagers with a theatre interest will also do short performances on stage which plays when you sit down, you can leave at anytime.
Villagers with a film interest will showcase or act in “films” (depending on their preference for acting or filming), similar to stage performances. If you have high friendship, you can be invited to join in on these!
The Hospital building is where you will go when you fall off your bike or faint, villagers will also go here for the same reasons as well as extended sickness (can happen if not given medicine). Gulliver can be found here if you don’t find him on the beach the day before. If not new NPC, possibly Luna or Leilani runs it
Shop functions: other than odd jobs, you can order food and drinks, buy a custom bouquet, and be styled by your villagers and NPCs, return of post office to send letters and gifts
Tasks: NPC / special characters and villagers can ask for more things like craftable items and foods, shop items like paper for letters, and obtainable clothing and accessories
Personal interests: you can set your own faves (in the scrapbook) which you can mention to villagers and NPC when relevant, they can give you items based on these and share their opinions in dialogue and letters
Collecting: stickers and stamps, medals (achievements), gyroids (you can give these to Brewster), crafting recipes, bugs & fish
Scrapbooking & letters: type or hand write letters and draw on them, as well as your scrapbook. You can decorate both with stickers and stamps! You can also send letters to special characters like Isabelle!
The Scrapbook is where you can see a calendar, planned events, interests, friendship levels, collections and recipes, achievements (medals), saved letters and photos! Custom designs also
NookPhone: you can use the phone to call or message villagers to locate them (sometimes they ignore you!) or make meet-ups, friends list & messaging, online shopping, and take photos! (All the Social things)
Event planning: events from other games return but you can also make your own! There are templates but you can do custom events, also set optional tasks to do at these events
Rainbow day - basically a pride parade, similar to festival, face paint & colourful outfits, a proud atmosphere, can march along a selected path
Beach party - take part in beach activities and mini games with animals and friends (sunny warm days only), vacation juice crafting recipe obtainable
Valentines Day - craft chocolate to give to animals or encourage them to give to others, high friendship villagers can also give you chocolate! Kaitlin can teach you to make chocolate related recipes on this day
Friendship levels: you can progress from small talk and exchanging letters with animals, tasks, exchanging gifts, meet-ups, being invited over and inviting them over, getting their photo, photo booth photo together (customisable), can hug them or ask for a hug
Friendship levels also apply to animals, your villagers will gain friendship with other villagers! Most will inform you if they have a best friend, but more polite villagers will only talk about who they’re not friends with / might dislike at a high friendship level
Crafting: instead of recipe cards you can read books (take one a day) in the Museum Library (Celeste runs it as well as the planetarium), or are given certain types of books by villagers with the relevant interest or NPCs - Tom will give you some to start out (furniture) and also sell all skill books
Cooking & baking: so many more recipes and you can do relevant mini games if you choose to do so! Giving a villager their fave food homemade will avoid them getting sick when it’s cold! It will also make them feel better after taking machine if the medicine doesn’t heal them the first time
Many cake options for birthdays and also event themes. You can also learn to cook from Franklin, he stops by occasionally to sell food at events! Joan and Daisy Mae will teach you turnip related recipes. Katie’s mum, Kaitlin, will teach you baking recipes and icing piping at her night class (at the restaurant or café)
More fruits & ingredients: all the New Leaf fruits return plus strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, red and white grapes, black currents. You can also make pasta. When sending food items they appear as a cake box or delivery box and open like a wrapped gift
Online & other stuff: Tortimer Island returns! A new plaza area for players? Shows featured player custom designs, showcases player homes and customised houses, you can auction items, race bikes with friends!
Custom designs: shirts, jumpers, hoodies, dresses, shorts & trousers, skirts, shoes, hats, face paint & accessories. You can change the length and style of each item!
I have more ideas probably but I can’t think of the rest rn, I might draw some concepts :]

Marlene Dietrich - The Queer Icon
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Marie Magdalene "Marlene" Dietrich (born in Berlin, Germany on 27 December 1901) was a German-born actress who often blurred the feminine and masculine, making her "The Queer Icon."
Dietrich's earliest appearances were as a chorus girl in 1922. Making film history, she was cast in Germany’s first talkie The Blue Angel (1930) by director Josef von Sternberg. With the success of the movie, von Sternberg took her to Hollywood under contract to Paramount Pictures. She soon had hits like Morocco (1930) and Shanghai Express (1932).
When war broke, she set up a fund to help Jews and dissidents and toured extensively for the allied effort. After the war, she limited her cinematic life.
In 1953, Dietrich appeared live at Sahara Hotel in Las Vegas. This was so successful that she also appeared at Café de Paris in London and Broadway.
She continued to tour as a marquee performer until 1975, when she fell onstage. She spent her final years mostly bedridden, passing away at 90 in her Paris flat from kidney failure.
Legacy:

The Collector
Tumblr media
There were collectors for every sort of thing, as Ruahei was slowly finding out. Children hoarded marbles and stickers, whilst adults sought out rare stamps and coins, classic cars and antique clocks, and anything in between. It seemed there was no limit to the human need for cataloguing stuff, and storing it in quantities which far surpassed their need. China plates and Russian dolls, bottlecaps and butterflies, second-hand records and first-edition books.
Ruahei was a collector of collections. Her home was filled with several similar arrays of minerals, stacks of matchbooks and autographs, each of them a trophy from a burglary gone by. There was always something about the satisfaction of a full set, the effort that had clearly gone into its completion, which she found irresistible. Not enough to have the patience for the slow hunt herself - but plenty enough to steal it once the boring work was done.
First of all, she collected information. Ruahei browsed certain forums, auction houses, garage sales and the occasional watering hole, listening out for an ill-judged boast or a proffered tip. Sometimes there was nothing, sometimes a whole glut of braggards, often somewhere in between. But lately, they were all telling her the same thing.
There was a new collector on the scene, a man with broad interests and deeper pockets. He was buying up antiquities, artefacts, valuable objects of every kind - but that wasn't all. The game's latest player was also investing in storage: a whole side of his house remodelled into a private gallery, filled with empty shelves and plinths on which to house his greatest treasures, whatever they might be. Nobody knew for sure, although they all liked to speculate.
A vast safe door, state-of-the-art, was brought in as the capstone to his project, the division between household and vault. That was the last detail they knew - after the works had been completed, the collector's doors had remained closed-off to the outside world. That was itself taken as a sign of the importance of his hoard. The gossipers' accounts differed as to its exact content, from lost artworks to secret letters, but all agreed that his collection must be majestic, inestimable, unique.
In other words, it would be the score to end them all. Ruahei couldn't resist a challenge, and so she began preparing for the greatest of her career. She collected every detail she could, assembling pieces of the jigsaw: the number of security cameras installed, the placement of these elusive pieces, tracking orders of plinths and shelves and bindings, presumably to suspend works from the ceiling. Her imagination ran wild, but her focus remained on what she knew, and what she might be able to do about it.
The front door was simple. Twice as thick as standard, triple bolted, no weak points like windows, a letterbox or even a keyhole. Well, that was easily dealt with: Ruahei went in through the kitchen window instead. The outside took a bit of manoeuvring - one undignified clamber over the garden fence, a second around an awkwardly placed hydrangea, which sat directly beneath the windowsill - but the countertops inside were clear, and she could scoot her way over the marble and onto the laminate floor.
From there, it was plain sailing. Ruahei had pulled old floorplans for the house from the purchase, and she knew exactly what had changed, where a wall had been knocked through and another one installed. She noted where the shade of the paint was slightly lighter, where the floorboards transitioned from old to new. There were fresh locks, too, which she picked the old fashioned way. It felt strange, as a thief, to head towards the place of most security, but that was always where the treasure was.
Ruahei padded softly through the empty rooms, ignoring other potential bounties in her path. A less discerning thief might have sprung for the oils on the walls, the silver cufflinks tossed so carelessly upon a desk, but they were barely even temptations. She wasn't here for a collection of two. A pair was nothing to the glory of a full house.
What she didn't see were the security cameras - although she knew that didn't mean that they weren't watching her, secreted into hidden nooks and crannies. She kept her head low, hood down, and moved as swiftly as she dared. No good could come of lingering. Every moment spent inside this house raised the risk of being caught, and Ruahei had no desire to see all of her careful plans undone by her own tardiness.
Only the safe itself brought her to a halt. The steel door was formidable, and this time there was no side window she could slip in through. Still, she had planned for that as well. It had been the last detail they knew, but the rumour-mongers had noted the make and model, and she had purchased one for her own burgeoning collection.
It had taken weeks to crack, but the men from the company had helpfully shown her how once she'd so carelessly forgotten her code. Practice had made her more adept than even them. It took a few more precious minutes, ears pricked for any movement behind her, but then it finally clicked open, two feet of steel swinging outwards on fresh hinges. Ruahei slipped around it. She was in.
But from the moment she entered the safe, she knew that she wasn't. The cameras were here, on the inside, for some reason - and they were the least of its surprises. There were bodies on the ground, fixed tight with the bindings she had thought meant for art. Some were moving, as if reacting to her presence, and breathed out faint words for her unhearing ears. They drew her focus, she only heard the clunk of the floor plate once it was too late.
Rauhei turned for the door, but two feet of steel could not be bargained with, and she was powerless to keep it from clicking shut again. She turned to face a room in darkness, but heard the security cameras swivel in her direction, followed by a man's deep voice.
"Welcome to my collection." The words seemed to echo within the walls of the safe, and the bodies on the floor cringed to hear it. "Which piece do you prefer? Is it all that you imagined you might steal?"
"Please," Ruahei called, and heard her own voice rebound in the confined space. There were no plinths here. No artefacts. This safe was nothing but a cell. "I was just curious. I promise I didn't take anything."
The voice laughed. "What might you have taken? If you came seeking those objects I purchased, I am afraid that I will have to disappoint you. I disposed of those myself, as privately as their acquisition was public. The bait had been set, you see. I needed only to buy them, and be seen to bury them somewhere in my control."
"But all those pieces... there were enough for a whole collection. Even all this work on your house, which was supposed to be a private gallery. It would have been easier just to keep them. Why go to all this trouble for a lie?"
"Such items hold no interest for me - so easily purchased and sold, relinquished at the flash of silver. The worth of a collection lies in the challenge of assembly, and I am afraid that wealth has taken that beyond my grasp, where mere chattels are concerned." The cameras moved again, as if to take in the others who lay bound around her, its vision piercing through the gloom. "Please, try to understand: I am no hoarder of trinkets. I am simply a collector of thieves."
