So with Gundam Wing Endless Waltz being included in Super Robot Wars Y, and presumably with its story being properly adapted in an SRW game for the first time since Z3.1 (I feel like EW’s story folds very nicely into both Geass’s movie and possibly even G-Witch’s background), this raises an interesting question for me:

Will this finally be the time that the Mariemaia Army gets to be treated as an ACTUAL major threat and NOT get hilariously shafted/jobbed to all hell a villain-faction for once?

Because I’ve never seen this get discussed anywhere else but yeah, to the best of my knowledge the Endless Waltz bad guys have been frankly HILARIOUSLY shafted and written off in EVERY Super Robot Wars game they have appeared in. As in, they are NEVER a truly major threat, get taken out pretty early on, and often turn out to be the underlings/pawns/stooges of OTHER, much more important villains.

Like in Z3 the Mariemaia Army are basically the underlings of Neo Zeon (Gundam CCA), and in multiple games they’ve been secretly backed by the Martian Successors (Martian Successor Nadesico). Then in W, it turns out that they were basically a false flag operation orchestrated by Amalgum (Full Metal Panic) and Blue Cosmos (Gundam SEED) in order to stir up anti-colony resentment on Earth in order to justify the Bloody Valentine war. And secretly backed by the Martian Successors.

And even when they aren’t the stooges of some other villain, the Mariemaia seem to always get taken out pretty early on in the game and don’t end up having much of an impact. For easily the biggest and funniest case of this, just look at Alpha Gaiden, where not only are the Mariemaia Army dealt with in the first 9 ‘Prologue’ stages of the game before the real plot gets going (ie; the Alpha Numbers getting sent to the future), they don’t even get to be the main villains of said prologue stages! Instead it’s the Titans remnants from Zeta Gundam who end up being the main threat fought in Stage 9 before Shu crashes the party.

So! The question is; will the Endless Waltz villains FINALLY get to be an actually credible villainous threat in Super Robot Wars Y?

Or, for the more likely question; who are they actually the stooges/unwitting pawns of THIS time? XD

Personally, my moneys on either the Kingdom of Zilkistan from Code Geass, or Prospera Mercury from G-Witch.

Or for the really fun option; a ‘we’re not officially saying it but it’s definitely them’ cameo from the Kingdom of Foundation, aka the Gundam SEED Freedom bad guys XD

My March 2025 Japanese toy haul got here a few days ago. I love the Eren's titan form Revoltech, but I am a bit sad that it doesn't come with a window display box as well. Like with Link's ToTK deluxe Figma version. That has a fancy sleeve and a window display box as well. That would have been my ideal choice for this version of Eren's Revo. I'm still super happy that I was able to purchase him. I wanted the Ryu Hayabusa (Ninja Gaiden) one as well, but I wasn't able to justify his price. Mostly, because I have zero figures based on him, and I don't know I want to start with such a huge expense for such a tiny figure. In my excuse, there's zero figures based on Ryu, outside of a handful of scaled statues that I can't justify either. I might still try to get one, if my budget allows. Which, might never come to be, with how things are going right now...T___T;;;

I also included photos of my Total Anime Eren's figure. I am not sure how to feel about those figures. The one I would have really loved owning is the Ken Kaneki one, because there are not that many figures based on him either. However, it seems like T4rget is making it hell, for some of us to be able to get him. Not even sure why they wanted it as an exclusive, just to make it a pain in the lower back for actual fans, and a day at the park for scalpers, I guess? DX

If you read Gurren/Lancelot manga what is the gist of Rolo and Benio's interactions during the geass cult massacare and before the betrayal?

You ask for the gist, but I just translated everything! All scans taken from https://comic.webnewtype.com/contents/geass_g/, which used to offer all chapters for free (but they don't anymore?). There will be spoilers for what happens to Benio and Savitri at the end.

I haven't read the whole manga, just the parts with Rolo, but I think the first time he shows up is when he sees Zero talking to Benio in a friendly manner (asking if she has any siblings, since Kallen and her act like sisters) and his reaction is as expected:

He is later annoyed by her hesitation during the Geass cult massacre:

Rolo "It's a problem if you don't bring them down properly." Then he thinks (2nd panel, thoughts next to Vincent) "This person... If I remember correctly she was acting friendly around Zero"

Benio "... This is wrong. It's the same as Britannia that day..." referring to what Euphy did.

Rolo "? What are you talking about? There's nothing wrong. Zero ordered that we annihilate them."

"You and that Kinoshita from earlier. Saying things that make no sense..." This is enough for him to decide to kill Benio without Zero's permission. Well, what else did we expect.

Benio has been waiting for a chance to talk to Zero. Rolo calls her, claiming that Zero asked for her "to come here."

Rolo "He's sorry that he couldn't talk to you earlier but it seems he could find some time now" Benio "Really? Thank you so much! I have to go to Ikaruga's office, right?" Rolo "No, he wants you to come to Ikaruga's dock. Alone, of course" Benio "Understood!" Savitri "... Who was that?" Benio "That person called Rolo. He says Zero wants to see me, so I'll be back soon!" Savitri "Rolo? .... I see. That's strange..." In the next page Savitri remembers that Rolo is that creepy yandere stalker:

Benio ".... Is it really here...?" Rolo "It's here." Benio, that's clearly the villain! Run!

Benio "Rolo-san! I'm glad. You will let me meet Zero, right?" Rolo "Of course. He is a bit late, but will come here soon" By the way, she speaks in formal Japanese, while he doesn't. I guess he's the senpai (which means he joined the Black Knights earlier than Turn 14? Well, Vincent more or less already became part of the BK in Turn 4...) Rolo "Hey, Benio. You wanted to meet Zero to talk to him, isn't it? What did you want to talk about?" Benio "Um... That's..." Rolo "Something you can't tell me?" Benio "..." I'm smiling nicely, there's nothing to fear!

In fact, she does answer Rolo's question. She wants to talk to Zero to know the reasons for massacring the Geass cult. She thinks only Zero might be able to give her an explanation that she can find acceptable.

Rolo "... ..." Benio "Rolo-san...?" Rolo "... All the people that Brother cares about end up betraying him. Such trivial distrust will spread to everyone and they might betray Brother." Benio "Em...?" Rolo "Haha."

Rolo "I knew he didn't need them. Brother needs no one else besides me." Well done Rolo, you found a excuse to justify killing yet another innocent girl!!

Savitri "Wait!!" Benio "Savitri!?" Rolo "See? You can't be trusted. I told you to come alone, didn't I?" Savitri "I came here on my own!"

Savitri "You are the one who should explain what your intention-"

Benio "Savitri!" Savitri "Be... ni... Run..." Benio "What's happening...?"

Benio "I didn't see him approach Savitri. I don't understand what happened. But I know this person did it..."

Rolo "... I've been overusing my power lately. I wanted to finish you both at the same time, but I failed... It seems the wound was a bit too superficial... Well, I don't really need Geass, do I..."

Rolo "No matter what, the result will be the same"

Rolo "I will finish you with Geass." Benio "That thing from before. It's coming!" ??? "What are you doing!"

Zero "Stop it, Rolo!" Rolo "Brothe..."

Zero came here after hearing that Rakshata was trying to contact Savitri and couldn't reach her. He asks Rolo for an explanation.

Rolo "It's for Brother's and... the Black Knights' sake." Sure it is, Rolo Rolo "During the Geass Cult annihilation operation, Benio didn't shoot! Someone with high combat skills and who knows about the Geass Cult... What will happen if she is a traitor! We have to kill her, Brother! Savitri is equally guilty as her collaborator!" Let's kill everyone!!

Zero "... Benio, why didn't you shoot?" Benio "... Because I didn't want to be like Britannia. I didn't want to trample on weaker people."

Benio "Because we are allies of justice." Rolo "... It's clear now. Benio has doubts about Brother's policy. She's saying that she can't follow your rules. She's a useless pawn now. We should kill her as soon as possible. That's the best for Brother."

Zero "Allies of justice... I see." Rolo "Brother!" Zero "Rolo, don't worry. I'll make them forget"

Zero "Everything..." And so that's where Rolo's part ends, and Benio and Savitri's current stories end as well. They forget everything and are shown to lead happy lives outside of the Black Knights without these memories. Maybe this was way too long a reply to the ask, but I tend to like translating as much as possible haha.

Benio: The part of him that goes against political marriages! Don’t you think it’s romantic?

Savitri: Nobody is ‘saving’ the empress from some unwanted marriage, though?

Savitri: Britannia and Chinese Federation are two factions that make up the three world superpowers. If they join alliances, United State of Japan will have no chance against them. Zero is simply preventing that from happening by kidnapping the empress.

Benio: Of course I understand that much! But, did he just have to kidnap the bride? There are other ways to prevent the alliances from happening.

Savitri: Well, since we’re talking about that Zero here... it’s probably not just to stop the political marriage...

Benio: I know, right? Zero is an ally of justice after all! 

Savitri: No, I mean...

Benio: Oohh! I feel like I just got a sudden spirit booster! 

Savitri: ...Well, so be it... she’s always been carefree girl after all.

Savitri: Okay, I’m cutting the communication line. The car that’s bringing the empress will arrive soon. Do your best.

Benio: Of course! You too, Savitri!

Kallen: Sheesh... They’re too damn persistent!

BK soldier: There’s an attack! The leading KMF troops are being ransacked! Halt! All forces halt!  

Savitri: Something’s not right... according to Zero’s analysis we aren’t supposed to encounter the enemy until another hour... Is there someone from the enemy’s side that can read Zero’s intention...?

Benio, please respond!

Benio: I somehow made it out okay... but it seems some of our comrades in the leading troop has been defeated...! 

Savitri: Is that... Shenhu!? That’s... impossible!

Savitri: That’s the ultimate machine developed by Rakshata’s team in India military region, in pursuit of ideal machine that the engineers have dreamed of. Yet rumor said because of the unit’s high specification, many pilots have been killed during run-test. 

Savitri: If there’s someone who can pilot that unit which only drawback is that it’s un-pilot-able...

Savitri: This is bad! Benio, run!

Benio: Wh-what’s wrong!?

Second Code Geass Compilation Details Revealed

The official Code Geass website has updated with new details about the second compilation film titled, “Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion – The Rebellion Path (Code Geass – Hangyaku no Lelouch – Hando).”  

First a new visual for the film was revealed.

Next some new details about the film’s soundtrack were revealed.  The film’s theme song titled, “The Moon,” will be performed by Sakura…

This chapter tasted like Iron Blooded Orphans.

Man: Then, about the business deal we discussed earlier...

Nobleman: Right, I'll be counting on you for that. The quality of your product is first-class, I’m sure the knights will be pleased as well. 

Man: Thank you very much.

Nobleman: Then... how about the other goods you promised me? 

Man: Yes, that one is... another quality goods.

Man: Then.. please enjoy.

(floating text: in order to survive...)

Nobleman: What a supreme beauty, hehehe. I’m going to spoil you silly.

Ledo: I was 10 years old back then. That was a sight I’ve been seeing ever since I was old enough to remember things. Without even any memories of being embraced by my parents, a man whom I didn’t know, as a release of his desire, loomed over me. For me that was the natural order of the world, the bottom of a dark and miserable gutter.  

Ledo: This nobleman was a ‘customer’ taken by my mother. A mother who gets her child to serve ‘customers’ because she needs money to buy drinks and play around with men. A father whose face I don’t even remember.

Ledo: Hey, mister. Did you buy weapons from the uncle before?

*cough fit”

Nobleman: Now, now, that has nothing to do with you.

Guy: What are you doing here? I have no business with kids. Quick bring the person who has the “information” here.

Ledo: The person who has information is this kid.

Guy: Haa?

Ledo: You come here because you want information about a certain nobleman’s corruption, right? Mr. Information Seller. 

Guy: ...brat, you’d be sorry if this is your idea of being mischievous. You do have the evidence with you, don’t you?

Guy: ...!!! There’s no mistaking it, this crest is that nobleman’s... It’s his cufflinks, huh... where did you get this!?

Ledo: At a certain hotel suite room.

Ledo: He stroke a major deal with the arm dealer in exchange for having me. 

Guy: I see... so the evidence is yourself. That’s fine by me. Speak in details. I’ll pay you. If you have any more information, we’ll meet again.

Ledo: ...this can work. If I continue doing this, one day I’ll be able to get free.

Ledo: I need to gather more information, both in quantity and quality. I assembled a team, a network consisted of boy prostitutes who are in the same situation as me. The money is divided among everyone in the group. While selling information, I take in a number of outsiders as mediator. While paying close attention as not to expose my friends’ existence, I sell information out to the clients. While saving the money, we continue to prepare for our getaway, so that we will be able to adapt in regular society. Arranging only the parents with fake family register... the preparation take years. 

Ledo: We don’t ask for much... we just want a regular life where we can say no to the things we don’t want.

Ledo: I’ve prepared enough for me to flee by myself. However, I’ve reached this far not thanks to my power alone. That’s why we have to break free from this dark world together...

Guy: Ledo Ofen, leader of a group of boy prostitutes, the brat who’s been making money out of selling information on the elites in secret...

Ledo: How... did you find out!? Where did you get the information from... Is it one of the mediators..!?

Guy: If you want to blame someone, blame your friends. 

Ledo: What!?

Guy: In your team, there are at most 10 people right? I’ve bribed them all.

Ledo: ...don’t lie, as if I’d believe such nonsense!

Guy: Haha, should I tell you what those punks you think of as friends said? They all sing in the same tune:

Guy: “We were just following Ledo Ofen’s instruction. Without him, we wouldn’t have done anything.”

Ledo: ...Liar! They will never...!

Guy: But it’s really just as they said, no? If you weren’t around, they wouldn’t be able to do anything, and wouldn’t pose a threat either. Your half-baked intelligence is not good for us. 

Guy: I’ll have you die here.

Kanon: Ledo Ofen right?

Ledo: Right... and you are?

Kanon: I’m Kanon Maldini. Pleased to meet you, Shadow Venom. (TL: the kanji means more like “Phantom Poisonous Fang”)

Ledo: Shadow...? What the heck is that.

Kanon: There’s a rumor in the underground community. About a presence who sell shady information on nobles that cause them to fall to ruin. No one knows who or what they are, but it’s a sure thing that they exist, and when you think they’re showing their fangs, they disappear like a ghost... Who would have thought that the poisonous fangs that have been the cause of nobles’ downfall is a young boy like you... You’ve been hiding your identity really well.

Ledo: Why did you help me?

Kanon: This time we were able to get rid of some naughty nobles... Just take this as a reward. It would be a waste to lose someone of your ability in a place like this.  

Kanon: Work under me. I’ll take you until the place where you can see the sun.

Ledo: Got it... or rather should I say ‘understood’? You will be my boss after all.

Kanon: You’re bold, I see. I like it.

Ledo: How ironic. As a result of being betrayed by all of my friends, I was saved from the gutter. Then maybe I should’ve fled on my own in the first place.

Ledo: And yet in the end, I can never escape from darkness. Now as a mole, I’ve been betraying Lord Kururugi, the person who sees me as his friend, by investigating him behind his back.  

Ledo: The one who’s been playing “pretend friends” is me.

Ledo: That’s right... Schnee is not a friend, but a cover I use so I can investigate Lord Kururugi. I can do my task well because I manage to convince Schnee that I’m truly his friend.

Ledo: And yet why I feel so restless? About sniffing around Kururugi Suzaku, about betraying Schnee... Why..!?  

Schnee: Ledo!! Behind you!!

Ledo: I was careless.

Ledo: A prepare-to-die attack. They’re desperate too. Will I die just like this? But, this is fine too. Or perhaps, this is a suitable end. For a rat like me who never had real friends and couldn’t crawl myself out from the dark world.

Schnee: Ledo, you’re an important friend. I don’t want to lose you.

Ledo: What an idiot. You don’t know I’ve been spying on the person you deeply respect. 

Suzaku: ...It’s the name we assign to you guys (TL: refer to early chapters when Ledo and Schnee first learn that they’re working under Suzaku and named as Konoe Knights)

Ledo: Uwooo!!!

Schnee: Ledo!?

Ledo: What happened to me??

Schnee: You.. really know how to make people worry.

Suzaku: You hit your head in the cockpit and lost consciousness. 

Ledo: Sorry to make you worry.

Suzaku: It’s okay, as long as you’re fine.

Ledo: How mysterious. I thought I have given up on everything, and yet the moment these two appeared in my mind, I feel like I...

Ledo: ...want to live.
