STAGE 10: ZERO

It’s time to say goodbye. I’ll only say this once... Thank you.

C.C.: Perfect.

Lelouch: Huhahahaha! I did it... Finally it’s in my grasp... The power to win the competition...! Now all the conditions to win have been cleared!

Kallen: Honestly I wasn’t really sure it would work out... but now it doesn’t feel that far-fetched for us to win the competition. Well then, I’m going home. Let’s rehearse for one more time tomorrow morning.

Lelouch: Sure, we’ll be counting on you.

C.C.: Oi. Look, we need to talk about you putting me in the band as a drummer.

Lelouch: What, you don’t want to be in the band?

C.C.: Hmph. I’m fine with it as long as you fulfill our contract... I just find it ironic. Who would’ve thought that by now you would be able to sing and play guitar at the same time.

C.C.: Do you regret disbanding your band?

Lelouch: I don’t !

C.C.: ...I see. Fine, then. No matter how the result will be, I’m on your side.

Lelouch: C.C...?

C.C.: Leaving that aside, I’ve prepared the replacement for Zero mask that you lost.

This also comes with the same voice-changer like the previous one.

Don’t worry, I have one for myself too. No need to hold back.

Lelouch: Uhh... Thank you.

Lelouch: C.C., your costume is ready, try it on in my room. Hm? Why does the light turn on...? Is there somebody in..?

...is that you, Nunnally?

Euphy: Ah, welcome back, Lelouch!

Milly: You! Where have you been, skipping school and loitering around?! 

Nunnally: Welcome home, Big Brother.

Lelouch: ??! Why is everyone here...!? Besides...

That’s my mask...!!!

Euphy: Look, Lelouch! I found Zero’s mask lying around!

Euphy: This mask is amazing! Only the part around the eyes can open, and it even has voice changer inside!

Is it even possible to prepare more than one mask with such advanced specification?

Milly: We’re wondering whether he would be able to show up at all if he didn’t have his mask. If that’s the case, then we might have to cancel the competition since there would be only one team able to participate.

Lelouch: “Cancel”!!? But... it’s also possible that he would show up wearing different mask...!

Euphy: He has a point...

Milly: I guess it’s difficult to decide unless it’s an absolutely sure thing that he won’t come out after all.

Lelouch: No can do! I’ve made a resolve to win this competition for Nunnally’s sake! Besides, even Nunnally is also...!

Nunnally, you’re also looking forward to this competition aren’t you? It would be a shame to cancel it.

Nunnally: ...I think it’s better to cancel it too.

Nunnally: I heard about Zero. His presence seems to help hyping up the competition, but he seems upset with the winning prize being a right to date anyone you want. If the competition is cancelled, the right-to-date prize will also be nulled, so I think Zero won’t be upset anymore. 

Lelouch: B-but... Euphy and her band will be no more too...

Nunnally: That would be unfortunate and I look forward to seeing big sisters again soon. But for me, in this competition... I just want to hear you singing joyously, big brother...

Nunnally: Meeting Suzaku-san again for the first time after after seven years, and when it’s decided and big brother and everyone is going to participate in the competition, I thought maybe.... it was fun to dream about it a little. 

Lelouch: Nunnally never wished for victory...? What Nunnally wanted was neither the competition, Euphy and the others, nor Zero to liven up the competition...

Rivalz (on the phone): Pr-prezz!! We’re in a pinch!! It’s Zero... We got a call from Zero...!

Milly: Wha, wait, Rivalz, calm down! What did Zero say?!

Lelouch: “Zero”?!  

Rivalz: We received a call to the student council room from someone who claimed to be Zero, saying that he’s withdrawing from the contest... He said they’re splitting up due to different directions they wanted to take as a band or something...

Shirley: Prez! I heard it too! It’s definitely Zero’s voice!

Rivalz(on the phone): The point is, Zero wanted to withdraw!

Milly: I-I got it, Rivalz, thanks!

Lelouch: ...she...!!

C.C.: Next is up to you, brat.

Milly: Fufufu...!! With Zero withdrawing from the contest, now it’ll come to one-to-one battle between out student council and Britannian royal family! I can definitely see this being THE reveal that will hype up the festival!

Milly: Now, each to prepare yourself! Dispersed!

Shirley: Lulu! Zero has withdrawn from the contest..!

Lelouch: Yeah, so I heard.... Anyway Shirley...

Let’s compete in the contest too! I want us to get back together!

Lelouch: Please, Shirley! I want to do it!

Shirley: Lu.. Lulu...! Lulu~~~!! I-I’ve always believed! I know for sure that you would say that, so I...!!

Suzaku: Er, what’s going on here? You guys are embracing each other...

I was already making them but stopped when big brother said he’s not going to perform... Now I’m not sure if I’ll be able to finish it in time...

C.C.: Alright, I’ll help too.

Nunnally: Oh my! Really?

C.C.: Your wish will reach that guy, for sure.

Milly: The night is heating up for the first Beat in Ashford!! The first one to perform, Royal Rounge Rounds has just finished their show and received huge cheers! 

Ohh the score is very high right of the bat! Do we already have our winner here?!

Milly: Challenging them is CODE BLACK!

The road leading up to birth of this band is full of ups and downs. In fact, I heard this band came to formation only just recently! Despite such disadvantage, will they be able to captivate the audience?!

I was a frequent visitor of your Tumblr & Twitter acc back in 2019(you retweeted one of my tweets where I manage to discover a Russian cover of Revive) With that being said; what do you think of the Code Geass Gacha game? To follow up: What year do you think we will see more Code Geass anime content?

Oyea I remember that cover. I don't have any substantial opinion on Genesic Recode since I don't play it. I just hope it makes enough money to help fund a decently animated Code Geass project lol.

With Sunrise being busied with several Gundam series/movie projects planned to be released this year I wonder if they have any resources left to work on any Code Geass anime. So maybe it's not until next year we will get Z of The Recapture. But ofc I'm just talking out of my a$$ since I don't work at Sunrise lol.

Welcome back. Don't feel pressured into this if you don't want to, but would you be interested in translating the Stage 26 Emperor and Knight event from Genesic Re;Code? It depicts alternate events set after season 1, even if just a dream. Only that event seems interesting.

The only interesting part of the entire thing for me personally is when V.V. revealed his real name as Victor zi Britannia haha. Though it took time for me to process whether it was ever mentioned before or not. Anyway I'll think about it. Maybe later after I'm done with other things in my list.

Euphie: Yes, together with Jeremiah and Cornellia onee-sama. Gino and Anya seem to be going to join in too. I heard Schneizel-onii-sama will come to see too. 

I won’t expose how you guys have been studying abroad while hiding your identity as prince and princess. I’m also here incognito so I initially intended to sponsor the event secretly, alas...

Euphie: Of course now that I’m pariticipating I’m also aiming to win the competition.

Nunnally: Well well.

I’m looking forward to it. How could I not, not only big brother will be performing, Euphie-big sis and the others will be there too.

Lelouch: Oh... You see, Nunnally...

A bit meaningless, the asker has probably been gone for long and is not going to see it (really sorry) but it’s been gnawing on me everytime I logged in to tumblr and it doesn’t feel right to just delete them all either. So just in case, and also for my conscience.

Nah, I actually only managed to read the first volumes of Oz, can’t find the motivation to translate things I’m just not interested in. 1) Can’t really think any source off the top of my head, it’s probably listed in some old files, but folks at reddit/discord/code geass wiki page aka fans who’ve been around far longer than me might be able to help.

2. I don’t think anyone has translated any of Akito’s picture drama yet?

3. As in, the picture drama? I don’t know if anyone has translated this one yet either.

Can’t see myself doing it. Dropped Oz manga and I’m still stuck at the fourth Akito’s OVA. Not quite an exemplary code geass fan here.

I think she was just dodging the question (about her feelings for Suzaku) by playing along with the facade that ‘Suzaku Kururugi’ had ‘died’ as it’s believed within the show’s universe.

C.C. and the antagonists faction are the ones moving the plot in the Resurrection, I think. Everyone else is just reacting to what they did or caused. You mean Lelouch taking the lead role again? I’d personally be interested if they give him a new set of struggles. I do think both R2 and Resurrection ending cut things a bit too clean on his character development part. 

What deleted scenes?

Lol wish I knew. I remember there’s some boobs size ranking for Code Geass female characters and C.C. didn’t rank too high in it.

I don’t know how long ago this ask was, but did this happen yet in Japan? I wasn’t following closely. 

It’s hard to seriously think about it because the end of Resurrection cut things a bit too clean on his character development part, he just seem so well-adjusted and content though still retain his theatric and dramatic tendency. A character like this will probably make for fun supporting/observer role though. There’s some potential for interesting conflicts of course, like him facing any undesirable aftermath of Zero Requiem, or if the world find out the truth about Zero Requiem.

I don’t think they have, but I could be wrong though since I didn’t really follow info on dubs (I don’t live in North America so I’m not the target market), sorry!

We’re entering the 3rd years and we still only have gacha game. The so-called 10 years project might not result in much content.

A right to date... For the depraved students who are appreciative of such evil... A punishment in form of destruction will fall upon them! 

The victor will be the Black Knights led by me, Zero! In the name of justice, I promise you the best stage you’ll ever see!

Incidentally, we are also taking in application for additional members for Black Knights. Heartily register yourself at the number written on the disc.

Shirley: What should we do... With this, the constestants beside us and Zero will...

Shirley: Kallen?!

Kallen: I’m out. Teaming up with that Zero guy sounds way more fun anyway.

Lelouch: ...how about you, Shirley? 

Shirley: If Kallen dropped out... we’d have no choice but to disband...

Lelouch: That’s right. If this result in a disband, even if Nunnally found out about the pathetic me who couldn’t sing and play guitar at the same time, she wouldn’t be as upset... Then as Zero I will win the competition for Nunnally’s sake...!

Shirley: But I... together with Lulu...

Suzaku: Unforgiveable. That Zero guy is unforgiveable! He’s throwing the school festival we were so looking forward to into such a mess! I won’t forgive him. 

Lelouch, I won’t blame you for being worried about Nunnally. This is all Zero’s fault! (leave him to me!)

Lelouch: Ye-yeah, you’re right... Dammit! This unnecessary sense of justice of him!

Director Taniguchi’s “Memo” from Lelouch of the Resurrection BD Booklet

Resurrection’s setting material that was distributed to the cast and staff at the movie development stage to give them general idea of the character/world/mecha setting at the beginning of the story. Since this was made during development/conception stage, some of information here might differ from what we actually see in the movie (or what we will see in future installments, probably, when they finally come around). On Holy Britannian Empire

After Demon Emperor Lelouch is killed by Zero the leader of Black Knights, Holy Britannian Empire splits into small states and autonomous territories. Things are relatively stable here as aristocratic system has been pretty much abolished during Lelouch’s era, while any signs of domestic conflicts are suppressed by Britannia-born natives such as Cornelia and Gino, hence intervention from foreign countries is able to be kept in check. Granted, because its national strength is originally already strong, it isn’t necessarily reduced to poverty. Unexpectedly many of its rural regions are rich with resources. Among agricultural nations in the world, it stands at the top.

On UFN

As of Year 2 of Kowa, more than 80% of the world has joined UFN. The basic policy which is the members have to transfer their military force and entrust military operation to Black Knights has not changed. Following the dissolution of Chinese Federation and EU, there’s no country that prominently acts as its leader, but UFN’s founding countries such as Japan, China, and India, have strong influence in the union. Delegation for Japan, Sumeragi Kaguya, serves as the Chairwoman of UFN Supreme Council. The world’s stability is maintained with Schneizel, who’s still under “Work for Zero” geass, serves as Chief of Staff in UFN Supreme Council. 

On Black Knights

A military organization entrusted with UFN’s entire military force. No matter how the world has began to engage in dialogues and negotiations, in the occurrence of terroristic activities, Black Knights acts as a suppression and deterrent. However, he only really told it to Nunnally whom he spent a lot of times together with. As the leader of Black Knights, he also takes over the duties of being one, but since this is his first time taking part in organizational management, he studies about it day and night. With the increase of his participation in politics, surprisingly he’s able to handle political affairs flawlessly, which might be because of his father’s blood. 

Nunnally vi Britannia

Her official position is the Honorary Advisor at World Humanitarian Agency (WHA), an affiliated organization of UFN. There are ‘voices’ that encouraged her to join UFN Council, however since her brother is too notorious, and she herself once claimed to be Empress of Holy Britannian Empire, she settled with her current position. She believes that it is her mission to follow through her brother’s vision of the world, and works hard every day without complaining.

Kouzuki Kallen

Even though she knows that the current Zero is Suzaku, since there’s nothing she can do about it in particular, she’s taking wait-and-see stance. As of now she’s a second year student in Asia Maritime University. The reason she entered this university, is because both land and sky reminded her of war, so she decided to study about sea. She got good at swimming, and now fishing is her hobby. She’s trying to get a sailing licence for small boats. A Black Knights’ reserve officer.

On Lloyd, Cecile, and Nina

Llyod lost his nobility status after the abolishment of the aristocracy by Emperor Lelouch. Since he sided with “Demon Emperor” Lelouch, even though he did it under threat, he wasn’t allowed to become a public official. As he lived his life like a bum, Arthur and Cecile provided shelter for him. Kanon who couldn’t bear to see his situation, established the “Institute of Defense Planning and Advanced Development Studies” (IDPADS), in which he became a director candidate of. However, because of his poor communication skill, his candidacy was opposed by the line management, and after he kept being demoted to one position down after another, from executive director to general manager and so on, he finally settled as chief clerk. Cecile who once held professorship at Graduate School of Advanced Science and Engineering in University of UFN, joined the IDPADS because she couldn’t just ignore Lloyd’s fell from grace, and became the head of Planning and Development there. At the same time, Nina who also has lost her old position, joins the institute. Through researching Core Luminous, Lloyd discovers that it’s possible to shut off Yggdrasil-drive externally, which is a different approach from Gefjun Disturber. However, because it’s a basic research that neither generates quick money nor is suitable for private sectors, his research was ignored by the institute. Cecile is currently working on building KMF for civilian use. "Moosa” is the first prototype that has been completed. Nina is studying to the bone to find a way to use FLEIJA for peaceful means.  

Cornelia li Britannia

Commander of Black Knights’ 11th Army Brigade. A lieutenant general. The poor treatment she receives despite her career and rank as lieutenant general is largely due to her being a member of Holy Britannian Empire royal family. In other words, since another member of said royal family, Schneizel, has already seated in important position, there’s a worry that giving more power to them could lead to anti-Britannia activities, not to mention the Massacre Princess Euphemia was also her sister. Rightfully, she was supposed to be given an army with a size of division, but currently she’s in command of a brigade due to political considerations. Initially she was arranged to an extremely low rank, but after one objection after another coming from other officers claiming they can’t possibly have higher rank than Cornelia, she’s settled as Lieutenant General. In fact, looking from achievements alone, she should be a General or Chief of Joint Staff next to Toudou.

Gilbert G.P. Guilford

He hurt his eyes at Second Decisive Battle of Tokyo, but as of now he wears special-built contact lens to cover his eyes. This is something he only wears during battles, in normal daily life he often just wears sunglasses. Is furious with how Black Knights treats Cornelia. He was supposed to be the Inspectorate General of Military Training at Black Knights’ HQ, but he volunteered to be a resident military officer at Britannia’s autonomous territory. One of the reasons is so that if anything happens to Cornelia, he would be able to help her immediately. He runs an orphanage named Darlton Memorial School with his own expenses. He’s collaborating with surviving member of Glaston Knights, Claudio S. Darlton.

Gino Weinberg

Black Knights’ Chief of Air Force Staff. His rank is air marshal, equals to Cornelia. He's appointed to many other jobs including corporate consultant and specially appointed professor at universities. Even with the collapse of the aristocratic system, it seems his household was able to survive with ease because of its economic power. He thinks it’s good to have peace, but the increase of office works over physical works concerns him.

Ougi Kaname

The first Prime Minister of the newly reborn, independent Japan. Everything he does is colored in miracles, he’s on the high road to success even though he himself has no desire for it, a lucky man loved throughout history. With various matters, including being viewed as a ‘legendary’ great man known not just in Japan but in the whole world, wearing him down...  he resigned and entrust things to his juniors. He refused all kind of public official positions, and is considering to pursue his original passion in teaching and as well as focusing on child support. In the wake of this incident, he realized that he couldn’t escape from his past self, and thought how he had to take the responsibility once and for all.

Tamaki Shinichiro

Opened a cafe bar right after Zero Requiem, but the average purchase from each customer was low, so he increased the number of barkers, offered set meals during lunchtime, etc, and the cafe unexpectedly became a hit. The success got into his head, he named the cafe “Zero” without permission to use the name and turned it into a collaboration cafe, which not only invited even more customers.... but also complaints from Black Knights. As a result, for public appearance sake the second store will be opened under the pretext as a memorial hall.

Shinozaki Sayoko

The 37th generation head of Shinozaki-style. On the surface, it does custom-made accessories business under the name of Kageno Company. The truth is it’s actually a company that makes hidden weapons and do shady works. As part of their job, these Shadow Warriors have gone to various places around the world as bodyguards for important people and resolve numerous conflicts. It only has one lone member though. This time she entered the battle with the feeling that none of this would have had to happen had she been the one tasked to protect Nunnally-sama.

Lelouch

Have the capacity to memorize the situation he’s in, but no ability to make intellectual judgement.

C.C.

Travelling around the world to restore Lelouch to his original state. She needs to go to C’s World to do that, but most of the gates to enter C’s World have been destroyed due to either Charles’ experiment project or the war. In her journey to find a surviving gate, she travels to Zilkhstan where there was a branch group that was separated from Geass Order 300 years ago. She only keeps in touch with Jeremiah, Shirley, and Anya. She has money she has saved up back when she was still in Holy Britannian Empire, but its currency value now has plummeted. Her current main concern is to not make any movement that’ll make her stand out.

Shirley Fenette

Her parents are still alive and they somehow manage to get by after the war’s over. She once considered to stay in Japan, but she faced a lot of difficulties for being Lelouch’s former friend, so she went to study at an university somewhere else. She’s now in her second year at Faculty of Sport Science in UFN University. Her feelings for Lelouch remains unchanged, only that it has became pure. Not in an unhealthy sense, but in a sense she tempers her feelings to the point that now she’s able to wait for him while living her days normally undistracted. Her relationships with Miley and the rest haven’t changed. She also maintains friendly term with many others.

Jeremiah Gottwald

After Zero Requiem, he was banished from public official position and sentenced to death due to his time serving Demon Emperor Lelouch, but Zero (Suzaku) himself wrote a petition for him thus his sentence was commuted. After that, he was sent to work in a forced labor, but a year later the forced labor itself was banned due to the pressure from World Humanitarian Agency (WHA) in which Nunnally acted as its Honorary Advisor. He then went to help out Anya with her orange farm in South America. 

Later, he took over the farm and renamed it to “Gottwald Plantation Orange Village”, where he became the owner of. Through illegal route in the military he gets his hands on Sutherland J, the center of Sutherland Sieg which he used in the past. He requests Lloyd to give it extreme remodelling. He thought he needs to organize some armed force in order to provide a shelter for Lelouch and C.C. who would have no place to go. But the people who were involved thought he was an emerging new mafia or drug cartel. Now he joined the battle because he wanted to see the healthy appearance of his master.

Anya Alstreim

Her family has fallen due to the abolition of aristrocatic system by Demon Emperor Lelouch. After the commencement of the new system, she was offered some positions by the UFN and Black Knights. The renewed Britannia also called her over, but all the posts she was offered are ridiculous so she declined. Started farming as a down-to-earth work. She used Mordred, which she forcibly took with her in place of her retirement pay, to cultivate the wasteland. It was actually initially a cannabis farm owned by a local mafia, but she turned it into an orange farm without permission. Just when she’s worrying over how she couldn’t make any progress with the farm due to her lack of management skill and farming know-how, she learned about Jeremiah’s discharge. Based on some absurd reasoning that he must know how to deal with oranges because he’s Orange, she conjoined with Jeremiah. Since then she has been releasing herself from all troublesome works like accounting and enjoying her life as an employee. This time she joined the battle because of Schneizel’s request.

✤ SETTING RELATED TO KNIGHTMARE FRAME ✤

Joint Strike Armored Knight Program

A program that had been on-going since the era of Demon Emperor Lelouch’s reign. The purpose of this program is to integrate the systems of weapons in each region starting from Knightmare Frame, and to improve maintenance and weapons compatibility. Though in reality it was only after Zero Requiem that the test machines are finally deployed, but the integration of Britannia-made system and Asia-made system that was centered in Japan, has not yet been completed.

Proposal for Frame Coat 

Due to Joint Strike Armored Knight program, except for plans that had already been underway, new plans for Knight Giga Fortress will be halted unless there’s a clear prospect to them. The substitute plan is Frame Coat, which is to add additional armor and additional armament to the current existing Knightmare Frame in lesser cost. 

Shanti Chawla, the central figure in “Pearl Party”, a private institute owned by Rakshata Chawla who’s the leader of UFN’s Science Committee, came up with the idea after seeing dress-up dolls. The fully equipped version is called Full Coat. Although it significantly lowers KMF’s mobility and greatly reduce its short-range attack power, it improves its defence and long-range attack power, so it is said to be suitable to be operated as mobile fortress and defending bases. For now Coat Lancelot and Coat Guren will be made as prototypes. Separated prototype is also due to Asia-made system and Britannia-made system being not integrated.

Moreover, Guren Seiten Eight Elements which give conspicuous service in previous war, was dismantled by Chairman Rakshata. *It is rumored that she did it because she couldn’t let slide how outsiders had modified it, though the truth is unknown. However, since Guren type is a symbol of people’s liberation, Guren Special Type is deployed as a higher grade version of Guren Seiten Eight Elements. In addition, Lancelot has the worst image as favorite KMF of Suzaku Kururugi who served Demon Emperor Lelouch, but the machine performance as a guiding weapon is highly evaluated, and it’s allowed to be build by adding siN to its name. There is rumor that a private company’s chief (Lloyd) is involved in its construction.

On Pearl Party

A private research institute founded by Rakshata who now held many positions including Chariman of UFN’s World Science Committee, Consultant of World Health Organization, Honorary President of UFN University, Advisor at UFN’s Volunteer Secretariat, Part-time member of the World Public Security Investigation Agency, and Consultant of United States of India’s Ministry of Health and Welfare. She gathered genius children from all over the world including her biological sister Shanti, to conduct research on development of new technologies and peaceful use of military technologies. During the foundation it received personal help from Schneizel and the south*.

On UFN

"Headquarter is located at Waikiki"

On Lancelot siN

"Lancelot which design is reverted to its original function as a weapon for guiding. The name Lancelot and its design were known throughout the world as the favorite KMF of Kururugi Suzaku who served Demon Emperor Lelouch, hence its image is the worst. However in order to evaluate the machine performance, it's continued to be developed under codename "White Fang". After that, the construction of the machine is allowed by adding "sin" to its name. There's a rumor that a section chief from a private company is involved in its development, however the truth is uncertain."

On Guren Special Type

"While retaining some of its features such as high maneuverability and unique weapons, which are the advantage of Guren type, it's been redesigned to accomodate for energy supply. Originally used for rebels' resistance activities, Guren type was designed to operate even in environments where there isn't enough energy supply. Guren Special Type which is the latest model of Guren, the flagship of Black Knights, was developed on the premise that it would operate in environments where sufficient energy supply is attainable. Hence while it achieves high-level performance, its energy consumption rate is about 10% higher than the previous model."

Since they’ve been hammering that “Lancelot is evil in public’s eye” I’ve been wondering if Guren, the KMF that ‘defeated’ it, is seen as a hero.

On C.C.’s character description

"She hid Lelouch's body who was killed at Zero Requiem and waited for his revival in hiding, but he was resuscitated in incomplete state as his soul was left in C's World. Her attempts to access C's World to bring back Lelouch's soul to his body were blocked."

So at least this confirms that Lelouch got to his shell state from dead state on his own.

...I’ve always thought there’s some uncanny relationship between C.C. and Tamaki lol.

On Jeremiah’s Pilot Suit

"The attire he wore when he rushed to Zilkhstan's bordering village after hearing the news of Lelouch's resurrection. It imitates Britannian aristocratic style, and he can board on KMF while wearing it as it is. The color of his pilot suit, from previously based on white, now is calm shades based on black as if he's in the state of mourning for Lelouch."

On Toudou and Chiba’s character description

"Todo is concerned as to when Chiba will get married, while Chiba is worried that Todo might not realized her feelings. "

"One of the reason it's able to fend itself against invaders is the existence of Geass. Since the founding of the kingdom, a branch organization that separated itself from Geass Order named Farlaf has supported it from behind, hence Kujapat and Shamna are endowed with geass."

I’ve read about this before but forgot where so I put it here, anyway Shamna could’ve gotten her code from a code bearer from this organization, since there must be one, or even more, at least there's one who gave geass to Shamna and Kujapat.

On Nagid Shu Mane

"Taniguchi: The trilogy starting from "Lelouch of the Rebellion" is, in a way, a story about Lelouch sticking to his selfishness, and ultimately ended with him taking responsibility for what he's done. In this "Lelouch of the Resurrection", he's been resurrected in response to the wish and feelings of C.C. and other people around him, but he himself has no goals or things he wants to accomplish. The people whose life have been affected by Lelouch play the leading role, while Lelouch himself plays supporting role instead. "Lelouch of the Resurrection" is simply the end of story that centers around Lelouch, not the end of the series itself. In fact, it's something that was made so that "Code Geass" as a series can be continued."

I actually have a theory as to why Lelouch has a code as well as a Geass. Imagine if C’s world (all the consciousness/souls of all humans) can only accessed/used by a code user, which would explain a line in the light novels that said Charles and V.V. were unaffected by C’s world’s “sinister aura”, but their acolytes were. If a Geass power is the ability to subconsciously enter C’s world through a Code user, the having C.C. still alive might keep that connection (I’ll continue this is two posts)

- Galonzo got his geass from Shamna’s geass fragments (which he referred to as “star’s fragment” cause he probably didn’t know about geass, he also referred to geass user as ‘magic user’ after all) seen near the end of the movie.

-  That code bearer can sense what happen to their contractor is a certain thing, I believe, remember how C.C. can tell whether Lelouch is alive or not when he was stranded to Kamine Island?

- And yeah, I do think being able to access C’s World without help is code bearer exclusive ability, at least from what we’ve seen so far in the show. 

- The rest sort of went way over my head haha, sorry, I’m not really into theorizing stuff… but your posts remind of your old request to translate some pages of Oz manga. You still need them?

so Shanma and Lelouch are 'failed ones' just like the character Dash from Renya of the Darkness, and that was before Lelouch mess with C's World. Also, does that meant that there was another or more Code Bearers out their in the world. Although if thats the case, how come she has her Geass only in one eye.

Been long since I read Renya but iirc Dash failed because he didnt fit the criteria as code bearer, while Lelouch and Shamna failed because C's World was unstable, so they're prob different. Then again "failed one = incomplete code" was just my interpreration.

That you need to have geass on both eyes to be able to inherit code was also just most people interpretation from how things went down in the series, which might actually not be the case.

i'm a little confused with Lelouch's new code; as confirmed by the under the sea picture drama he's immortal, but is he still able to be affected by the geasses of other people anyway? in the movie he gave CC his plans to ensure his own mind wouldn't be read, and in the picture drama the shark pirate could still detect that he was lying. But then again, the shark had a sygil as opposed to a geass in his eye, and shamna had a code of her own too, so were their geasses different from normal?

- PD just confirms he doesn’t age, or at least his appearance doesn’t. 

- Galonzo couldn’t detect any lies from him because he was saying the truth; he said he has a weapon, and it’s true, his ‘weapon’ was his geass.

- In Resurrection BD release/Lelouch birthday event, staff mentioned when Lelouch and Shamna activate their geass, the sound effect is different from when Kujapat (normal geass user) casts geass. Taniguchi explained that this is because both Shamna and Lelouch are the “failed ones” (なりそこない), and there’s no other existence like them in the whole world. I think this refers to them having incomplete code/failed to become code bearer, which was caused by Lelouch messing with C’s World. 

- So Lelouch’s state of being is probably closer to Shamna’s than to C.C.’s. Can use geass, geass can still work on him, can access C’s World, can die, but can return to life through methods.

- Galonzo’s geass certainly is different from the ones we know in the past, from how he got it, where it was located and how he used it. But then again I’m not sure if this is a setting the production team has decided on or something they’re just experimenting on. After all, it’s just a picture drama. 

Sorry for the late reply, not really eager to analyze too deep into codes and geass when there’s a sea of grey areas about the laws and mechanics.

Shirley: Lulu! Good morning!

Lelouch: Morning, Shirley.

Shirley: It’s just three weeks more till the school festival! I’m excited! When should we start practicing our performances together?

Lelouch: Er, that’s...

Shirley: Ah, Suzaku-kun, good morning!

Suzaku: Good morning!

Shirley: Right, Suzaku-kun, when do you think we should practice together for the band performance?

Suzaku: I’m good anytime... how about you guys?

Shirley: For guitar part, Lulu, you’re also okay anytime? Kallen’s play is already perfect so there should be no problem... I think I still need one more week though...

Lelouch: ...actually, just what on earth are you two talking about?

Shirley: Geez, Lulu~! Don’t joke with straight face like that! 

Suzaku: Don’t be like that, Lelouch. We were talking about our performance for the upcoming school festival!

Lelouch: ? Rather what are you on about? Look, the class is starting soon.

Suzaku: ...?

Shirley: Lulu...?

Lelouch: Performing at school festival? Seriously what are they talking about.... What a weird bunch.

Classmate: That’s a pretty cool wristband!

Lelouch: ‘band’...?

Classmate: Did you see the special feature about mimic (gitai) octopus on TV yesterday? 

Lelouch: ‘guitar’...!?

Classmate: No, I was listening to the radio

Classmate: Ohh, was it AM? FM?

Lelouch: ‘F’...!!??

Lelouch: For some reason... my head hurts like hell... Nunnally must be waiting for me at home as well... I should just go home early and take some rest...

C.C.: Lelouch. I come to pick you up.

Lelouch: C.C....

C.C.: Why didn’t you come to practice for the last 3 days?

Lelouch: Wha... Not even you, C.C., what are you talking about?

C.C.: ...have you forgotten about our contract?

Lelouch: Contract...? What contract?

C.C.; Are you playing dumb?

Lelouch: No, I’m asking you what are you talking about!

C.C.: ...you really lost your memory?

C.C.: Then, let me make you remember...

Lelouch: Wha-

Lelouch: Uhh...!!

Lelouch: Ugh...! What’s with this melody.... my head hurts... M-my body is... moving on its own...! 

Lelouch: ♫ Dance, dance to the festive drums and sound of bamboo flutes! It’s a fruitful autumn! Cleansed your throat with sacred wine... That carries the spirit of men... Soiya (TL: it’s a shout people do when parading/carrying palanquin on their shoulders in festivals), soiya, soiya, soiya! ♫

Lelouch: ‘Soiya’...!?

Lelouch: I remember... I remember everything now..!!! I let myself being egged on by Suzaku’s words and said I’m going to play guitar for the school festival... I was about to give up and make excuses like I’m allergic to metals or something since I turned out to be bad at playing guitar... then I rethought about it and decided to do it after all for the sake of my beloved sister Nunnally’s smile... I asked C.C. who’s good at guitar to teach me but for some reason I learned enka instead... but even so... I somehow managed to receive special training on guitar and mastered the most difficult chord that is F chord! 

Lelouch: Why did I forget....?

C.C.: You finally remembered.

Lelouch: That’s right... the paper crane! Nunnally’s paper crane... it turns out she didn’t make them for me...!!

Lelouch: Why, Nunnally!!!

C.C.: S-so annoying....

C.C.: To think you lost your memory from the shock... what a hopeless siscon. Let’s end this, Lelouch.

Lelouch: !

C.C.: You’ve lost your goal. And we wasted 3 days... we won’t make it in time.

C.C.: I’m also... giving up.

Lelouch: C.C., wait!!!

Lelouch: Don’t decide it on your own. Certainly, Nunnally didn’t make the paper cranes for me, but the fact that she’s looking forward to the school festival still stands. That’s why... I’m asking your help.

C.C.: You want paper cranes that much?

Lelouch: Eh?

C.C.: If you insist... I can fold some paper cranes for you...

Lelouch: No, it’s fine. I don’t particularly want paper cranes, I want something Nunnally make.

Lelouch: ? Why is she angry?
