This book was inspired by the annual coloring festival #ColorOurCollections, launched by The New York Academy of Medicine Library in 2016. #ColorOurCollections 2019

It’s that magical time of year again when libraries, archives, and other cultural heritage institutions offer images from their collections for artistic enhancement. Join the fun from February 4-8, 2019!

Our coloring book for this year features alchemical engravings as well as variations of the periodic table from our archives. You can download the 2019 pages from our online catalog: Othmer Library Coloring pages.

Coloring Page: Thomas More’s Utopia (1518), The Huntington. As part of The Huntington’s 2019 five initiative with @clockshopla, five artists will explore our collections and create new work, using the idea of utopia as a thematic point of departure. It’s #ColorOurCollections Week!

We are excited to take part in a week-long coloring fest coordinated by The New York Academy of Medicine Library! Here are our contributions to the celebration—the title page from a book of hours, two lions of St. Mark from the Cavagna Collection, and a paper doll that will be featured in our upcoming exhibition, Making Mr. Darcy.
