Techno lovers of a certain age will probably remember where they were the first time they heard Dave Clarke‘s World Service, which was released on 21 May 2001, setting a high bar for mix CDs of the period. With 47 tracks set across two blistering CDs – one techno, the other electro – World Service included killer cuts from the likes of Surgeon, Jeff Mills, Umek, The Hacker, Adult, Anthony Rother, Joey Beltram and others, and helped spawn one of the most-revered electro tracks of all time, Fischerspooner’s Emerge. Even Radiohead made an appearance, with the ethereal Idioteque, a track that helped lay the foundations for their future direction. Released on React, and mixed live on vinyl, World Service also helped establish Clarke as one of techno’s go-to artists, and he’s maintained his status as a leading custodian of tough, uncompromising beats in the years since.

my steve reich double sextet/2x5 CD came today so everything i had ordered arrived so im gonna go downtown again someday soon :D i think ill go like monday or tuesday once ive gotten more used to taking care of dendy and am comfortable leaving him for a few hours. it’s rly awesome how chill cassette is w/ him tho it makes me so happy cause i wanted to keep him but was worried cassette would try to fight him or be uncomfortable and snap at him but shes rly ok w/ him and like doesnt freak out at all its rly great. so like i can just leave them alone together and she wont attack him and will just mind her own business tho i think she gets annoyed when he starts meowing to get out of his box lol. anyways i wanna go downtown again soon now to find some jazz CDs from herbie hancock, wayne shorter, sun ra, ornette coleman, albert ayler, ahmad jamal, pharoah sanders, and maybe some miles davis if they have any ones like round about midnight or any of his electric stuff that i dont have yet. then i wanna also look for blue cheers first album cause i wanna get some heavy 60s hard rock but dont like zeppelin or sabbath that much rly lol and i heard some of blue cheer and liked it oh and i also wanna get some of like the british electric blues stuff like john mayall and early fleetwood mac. and then some normal blues hopefully can find a good compialtion of like muddy waters or those compilations of robert johnson. oh and i wanna look for sunflower by the beach boys or surfs up bcuz ive been putting off those albums hoping to find them at a CD store but keep forgetting lol. tho mainly sunflower cause thats a great album especially deirde and slip on through w/ the cool effect on the cowbell lol. OH and wanna look for those reissues of the shaggs two albums that light in the attic did especially their second album! oh and maybe some dub specifcally lee perry cause ive been wanting to get more of his stuff cause i only have two compilations of his. well im obv not gonna buy all that cause i think i only have like 40$ in my acct  there and i rly doubt im gonna find all that or even most of it but thats my main list of things to look for but i also have more stuff but illl see cause im only gonna buy stuff i rly feel like getting at the moment

Vintage [Jamacian] Studios: The first studios ever created
Federal Location:Kingston, Jamaica) — Probably the oldest studio of significant importance. Owned by Ken Khouri, the man who first licensed American records in the island ,and also the first label there.Federal Records. He opened his studio in 1961 and some of the first Jamaican r’n’b and ska singles and productions by Dod,Reid,Buster and Lloyd “Matador” Dale were cut there.
Stuff was recorded there in the 60s and 70s too ,but comparing the material here it with that in Studio One or Joe Gibbs is very poor.I have found many albums and compialtions that were only partly recorded here. Some songs were some weren’t.Artists were cutting singles anyway and some of them foudn their way in albums-or not.
Anyway the significance of the studio is that it was the first.Jamaican jazz,r’n’b ,boogie,Mento were recorded here ,and when the first Ska wave exploded ,things happened here first too.Khouri was the one that Dood and the others followed in order to build studios to record Jamaican music and play it in their Soundsystems.Sell it too...
Studio One (Location:Kingston, Jamaica) — Treasure Isle and Studio One were rivals in every department.Soundsystems,labels,studios.This rivalry and antagonism was beneficial for the reggae world.Treasure Isle and Studio One’s legacy is difficult to suprass.Riddims created in those two studios are susd till today. In the roots era many of those old riddims used again ,and again and again.
The legacy of Studio One is enormous. The sound created in the studio, the emphasis on the bass, the patterns…Studio One is the heart of reggae.
Coxsone Dodd started as a soundsystem owner (Downbeat) but when the time ws right he builded his own studio to produce and sell music. In 1963 Studio One was ready to write history.Coxsone Dodd’s innovative recording techinques , left us with the best documents of the Ska era. Also in the rockseady and ealry reggae era amazing things happened in Studio One...
Treasure Isle (Location Kingston,Jamaica)...
Dynamic Sounds (Location: Kingston,Jamaica)...
Randy’s (Location:Kingston,Jamaica)...
King Tubby’s (Location:Kingston,Jamaica)...
Harry J (Location:Kingston, Jamaica)...
Black Ark (Location:Kingston,Jamaica)...
Channel One (Location:Kingston,Jamaica)...
Joe Gibbs (Location:Kingston,Jamaica)...
Tuff Gong (Location:Kingston,Jamaica) — Tuff Gong was Bob Marley’s nickname. And label. And recording studio.Relcoated in his house in 1977 the studio attracted many famous reggae artists (and not only famous) to record there. After Bob’s death the studio relocated elsewhere ,its current site. The 80s were a good time from the studio , where music by high caliber artists is recorded till today.
The first one of his albums that Bob recorded there was Survival at 1979.
Some that recorded there were:Don Carlos,Cultural Roots,Israel Vibration,Jacob Miller,Burning Spear,Dennis Brown,Junior Reid,Freddie McGregor.
Island wanted their artisst to be recorded here.Gregory Issacs,The Cool Ruler, recorded the big international hit Night Nurse here.
Errol Brown was an engineer in many of those recordings ,also in Marley’s albums.he formerly worked for Sonnia Pottinger’s Treasure Isle among others.
The studio has count on Marley’s stardom, and its good equipment to continuing to this day being relevant in Jamaica.
Since we talked about Marley here i guess it’s a good time to talk a bit about the concept of overdubs in reggae and its importance.
When labels like Trojan were importing stuff to sell in UK,they sometimes made some changes to the material.Remixing, adding strings, making the tempo faster to fullfill skinhead reggae requirements etc.
Trojan did it with success but when the attitude towards reggae changed in UK ,they stopped doing it.Those tweaks were made to make the music closer to Western music standards.Despite that there is tons of Trojan material without tweaks.
Wackie’s (Location:New York,USA)...
Ariwa (Location:London,UK)...
Jammy’s (Location:Kingston,Jamaica)...
Black Scorpio (Location:Kingston,Jamaica)...
Music Works (Location:Kingston,Jamaica)...
Penthouse (Location:Kingston,Jamaica)...
Digital B (Location:Kingston ,Jamaica)...
Xterminator (Location:Kingston,Jamaica)...

And we are subject by him. Our approach can be produced from different areas: body expression, dance, physical education, theater, mime, music, psychomotor ... "(Miguel Sassano, 2003: 120) hard rock cover compialtion     And we ask ourselves, why not put together several of those areas? "Movement is the primordial element of rhythm. According to this, it is said that music, for example, is movement in space and time. "(Miguel Sassano, 2003: 295)" Music is the only art based directly on rhythm and dynamics that is able to stylize body movements. "(Dalcroze, cited by Miguel Sassano, 2003: 297) hard rock cover compialtion    The processing of the music helps activate the two hemispheres of the brain. Both hemispheres perform different missions, although they can be set in motion simultaneously with the performance of some activities,  hard rock cover compialtionsuch as musicals, whose execution activates the functions of the right hemisphere (usually linked to emotion, artistic-musical and spatial ability). and the left hemisphere (related to language and logical operations). hard rock cover compialtion    There are 2 main types of music in relation to their effects: hard rock cover compialtionThe sedative music, which is sustained melodic in nature, and is characterized by having a regular rhythm, predictable dynamics, harmonic consonance and a vocal and instrumental timbre recognized with tranquilizing effects. hard rock cover compialtionStimulating music, which increases body energy, induces action and stimulates emotions. hard rock cover compialtion    Music influences the individual at 2 different primary levels: mobilization and musicalization. Music is energy and therefore mobilizes human beings from their birth and even from the prenatal stage.  hard rock cover compialtionThrough listening or creation, the music prints an energy of global character that circulates freely inside the person to be projected later through the multiple ways of expression available. hard rock cover compialtion    Like other energy-carrying stimuli, music produces a wide range of responses that can be immediate, delayed, voluntary or involuntary. Depending on personal  hard rock cover compialtioncircumstances (age, stage of development, mood, psychological health, appetite) each sound or musical stimulus can induce a variety of responses in which they are integrated, both the biophysiological aspects and the effective and mental aspects of the person .  hard rock cover compialtionThus, the baby shakes its members when it recognizes a song sung by its mother and the adolescents comfort themselves physically and emotionally by listening to the music they like, even if it seems noisy to us. hard rock cover compialtion    Taking into account all the characteristics that music presents, it seems necessary to take advantage of it to influence a better motor development in important ages such as childhood. hard rock cover compialtion    Through music you can educate the child completely and harmoniously. In addition, it is very important that the child relate music with activity, play, movement and joy, in a way that helps him to express spontaneously and emotionally the musical sensations. hard rock cover compialtion    Uniting music with the physical aspect of the child enables and favors motor skills, coordination and all physical functions in a context of interpersonal relationship, hard rock cover compialtion being able to enhance aspects that are worked in other disciplines such as physiotherapy, but under the prism enjoyable and playful own music and musical instruments. In the same way, hard rock cover compialtion in the educational field, it helps the formation and personal development of students with learning difficulties, psychic disability and behavioral problems (hyperactivity, dyslexia, down syndrome, autism, conflicting adolescents, etc.) hard rock cover compialtion    According to several studies, music is the guiding thread for the child to fix their attention. In this way, children pay more attention to the activities they perform  hard rock cover compialtion
