A Cryptobro update.
He has gotten the idea to build an app, and a website. He's using AI to do it, for the most part. He can't code, or even do HTML; he's just using AI, and picking stuff up while troubleshooting the AI results. He's very proud of how nice the website looks already, and claims he's already learned so much just by watching the AI do things. And you know, I am willing to believe that he *is* learning things. Not cohesive things, as in, he's not building a skill, but he's definitely being exposed to a lot of concepts and info, and I'm sure it's a learning experience, of a kind. The man is an idiot but he's not unintelligent.
That said.
I asked him… so, this app, what is it going to do? What will it be? What's your use case, your business model?
READERS, THE MAN DOESN'T KNOW.
He's the quintessential "idea guy" and… he doesn't even have any ideas. He goes all "eh, the app could do anything, I can make anything!" and then he… doesn't actually have any examples of what that "anything" could possibly entail.
Of course, I'm not putting aside the possibility that he's pretending to not have a plan in order to "protect" his big idea until it's ready for launch. Absolutely not putting it past him.
But…
Bro. BRO.
What The Actual Fuck.
Every person I've ever known who was serious about developing an app or writing software or starting a small shop or business… has *loved* talking about their plans. Not counting big companies with NDA's and certain high competition fields, most individual humans who are creating a thing are passionate about that thing, and enthused to share its story. What is it? What does it do? Why is it valuable or useful? What made you want to make this?
But apparently, Cryptobro's big plan doesn't have a story, doesn't have a use case, doesn't have a target audience. It's all just… filler. And he talks a great deal about how the product is more important than the process, and having the idea is all you need in a world where AI can do anything, but… he doesn't even have an idea? He doesn't have a product concept that anyone would want?
The only thing he aims to do is make a thing -any thing, whatever thing- and monetize it, with as little investment on his end as possible. Nothing more.
I've known this man for half a year now and I… I still can't wrap my head around his existence. He's like a living caricature. Whenever I think I've seen the worst of it, it's like… "But wait! There's MORE!" It's baffling.

How does an engine contribute to a car's powertrain?
The powertrain in a vehicle is the system responsible for generating power and delivering it to the wheels to propel the vehicle forward. The operation of a powertrain can vary depending on whether the vehicle is powered by an internal combustion engine (ICE) or an electric motor (in the case of electric vehicles). Here's a general overview of how a powertrain works in both types of vehicles:
Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) Vehicle - Combustion Process: In an ICE vehicle, the powertrain starts with the combustion process in the engine. Fuel (gasoline or diesel) mixes with air in the combustion chamber and is ignited by spark plugs (in gasoline engines) or compression (in diesel engines).
Power Generation: The combustion process generates energy in the form of mechanical power, causing pistons to move up and down within the cylinders of the engine. This motion drives the crankshaft, converting linear motion into rotational motion.
Transmission: The rotational motion from the crankshaft is transmitted to the transmission, which consists of gears that allow the driver to select different ratios (speeds). This enables the engine to operate efficiently across a range of vehicle speeds.
Drivetrain: The transmission sends power to the drivetrain components, including the driveshaft, differential, and axles, which transfer power to the wheels. The differential allows the wheels to rotate at different speeds, enabling smooth turns.
Wheel Movement: The power transmitted through the drivetrain causes the wheels to rotate, propelling the vehicle forward or backward depending on the gear selection and throttle input from the driver.
Electric Vehicle (EV) -
Battery Pack: The primary source of power for the EV, storing electricity in chemical form.Powers the electric motor and provides electricity for all electronic devices within the EV.
Battery Management System (BMS): Monitors battery cell conditions, including voltage, current, temperature, and state of charge (SoC).It protects the battery against overcharging, deep discharging, and overheating and helps balance the charge across cells. Ensures optimal performance and longevity of the battery by regulating its environment.
Inverter: Converts DC from the battery pack into AC to drive the electric motor.Adjusts the frequency and amplitude of the AC output to control the motor’s speed and torque. Critical for translating electrical energy into mechanical energy efficiently.
Onboard Charger: Facilitates the conversion of external AC (from the grid) to DC to charge the battery pack. Integrated within the vehicle, allowing for charging from standard electrical outlets or specialized EV charging stations. Manages charging rate based on battery status to ensure safe and efficient charging.
DC-DC Converter: Steps down the high-voltage DC from the battery pack to the lower-voltage DC needed for the vehicle's auxiliary systems, such as lighting, infotainment, and climate control. Ensures compatibility between the high-voltage battery system and low-voltage electronic components.
Electric Motor: Converts electrical energy into mechanical energy to propel the vehicle. It can be of various types, such as induction motors or permanent magnet synchronous motors, each offering different efficiencies and characteristics. Typically provides instant torque, resulting in rapid acceleration.
Vehicle Control Unit (VCU): The central computer or electronic control unit (ECU) that governs the EV's systems. Processes inputs from the vehicle’s sensors and driver inputs to manage power delivery, regenerative braking, and vehicle dynamics. Ensures optimal performance, energy efficiency, and safety.
Power Distribution Unit (PDU): Manages electrical power distribution from the battery to the EV’s various systems. Ensures that components such as the electric motor, onboard charger, and DC-DC converter receive the power they need to operate efficiently. Protects the vehicle's electrical systems by regulating current flow and preventing electrical faults.
In both ICE vehicles and EVs, the powertrain's components work together to convert energy into motion, enabling the vehicle to move efficiently and effectively. However, the specific technologies and processes involved differ significantly between the two propulsion systems.

Loving the spirit of this but rather than simply letting third parties copy whatever thing I'd much rather that these things specifically become public goods.
Relying on private individuals to upload and maintain media with no accountability is annoying and also what got us into this mess. Luckily, we Have institutions in place already to do this - Libraries are Right There. Let them run a database of online movies, books, and other such things that are no longer available for whatever reason. Not only is it free, its safe, and accessible, and not likely to be shut down out of the blue.
law idea: products that are not currently and will not be purchasable from the parent company for the foreseeable future are not counted as "copywritten" in regard to the sharing, reproduction, and other "piracy" claims in court of law.
if you aren't selling them your customer doesn't have to buy
this is in regards to all copyright, if someone starts a factory producing clones of iPhone and iMac chips for the purpose of repairing devices, that's not copyright infringement, because apple does not sell those chips :)
if they want to keep their copyright they can put their repair chips on the public market, continue matinance of old products, etc
Nintendo will hate this law the most I'm sure.
widows is surprisingly robust to this law as you can actually buy every copy of windows ever produced right now on windows website, albeit you might have a hard time finding it because they'd PERfer you didn't.
streaming companies dropping original content from their service for tax purposes can expect to find it on YouTube the next day for free no ads
I think you all will be able to see how this will have a hotting effect on the market, where as now copyright holders have the power to delete content from the legal sphere, under this law they cannot do that. they can sell it themselves or they can give it away for free.
no more manufactured scarcity for the sake of inflating already inflated prices

Fun concepts to explore: Dissolved Gas Analysis is kind of like a blood test or other medical test for electric trains (and large electrical equipment in general, anything with a transformer). Basically extracting a transformer oil sample and seeing what gases are in it to detect major issues with transformers. Sometimes they even use syringes for it!
Very basic info here. Ironically Electra is technically a model with a non-oil filled transformer but there’s lots of other engines that have typical oil-filled ones so easy to basis swap or apply to other characters or OCs. I have… no idea what problems specifically tend to happen in trains with them but tbh you’re ahead of 95% of people just by basing things off substations vs computers.
