I've been at work for less than 5 minutes, and I've already gotten 2 calls from people asking for rooms for tonight. It's New Year's Eve and we're within driving distance of Key West; you'll be hard-pressed to find a hotel room anywhere in the entire 107 mile island chain!

How do you travel without making plans? I don't go anywhere without figuring out where I'll stay and how much it'll cost months in advance. I can't imagine deciding, THE DAY OF, to go to a major tourist destination on one of the busiest holidays of the year without booking a hotel LAST YEAR! Hotels book up fast! Our entire month of February has been solid since last year because there's a big nautical event at the end of the month, and July is almost booked solid because that's when lobster mini season starts. How do you not plan ahead? How are you that irresponsible?
