kendall — the boy prince with a crown of thorns, imprisoned at the top. he overlooks the city, painfully distant from it all. a reflection in broken glass haunts him; his father, the waiter, himself. shattered and bloodied and dripping onto him still. so high and so blue, a puzzle barely together. his gaze tells you he knows how pathetic he is.

connor — the relatable uber-rich. the eldest son, forgotten, overtaken by the background. his political ambitions are yet another hobby to fill a void; his ranch, his wine, his presidency. he is pastel, faded, swathed in republican red that even then is all vanity. sees himself in screens. he is blowing away in the wind.

roman — doing the dirty work in the dirty room. he's ready to sling over offers and quick wit but there is a childishness about him, like he's scrawled in crayon. something's off, something's wrong with him and you can't figure out what exactly. he lives within it, then: slimy and blood-hot and close. his eyes dart around. the trained dog that might just bite when he's nervous.

shiv — all that effort to go nowhere. a girl with a pearl earring: wealthy, intriguing, unknowable. can't be bothered to face you fully, but baring her back in the process. bathed in the lines of light that her father gives her in inches. she is doomed to be pushed, and to be helped back up, which might be worse than the falling. exuding something sharp, startling, hot pink: forever pinky.

Succession 3x7 - Too Much Birthday

Kendall’s birthday ep... all the brothers are gathered at the entrance when we finally see Connor for the first time. And there he is… with his injured arm 😭 (Shiv’s face when she looks at his arm lol)

Still in the lobby, one of the party staff tells everyone to hang up their coats and hand over their phones ‘cause Kendall “would like his present to be everyone being present.” lol

Shiv and Roman totally ignore the girl asking for their phones, but she ends up asking about Connor’s coat.

Then Connor (with Willa) explains to Roman what happened.

Of course Roman takes the chance to make a joke... I swear, I love that man.

I love that they could’ve come up with any excuse for Connor’s injury — since it was kinda improvised ’cause Alan Ruck had to wear that arm thing on doctor’s orders irl — but they still managed to sneak in a scene with Connor and Maxim Pierce!!!

Not that it matters, but the Conwillas reaction when Roman says he’s going inside his mom’s vagina????

But then…

There's a real quick moment (I couldn't even get a decent screenshot), but Connor calls Willa "Will" and Naomi "Nay", idk, I just think Connor’s nicknames for people are really cute 🥺.

Then Kendall takes the brothers to that weird little room with the newspaper clippings (?? idk what to call it lol)

Connor’s delusions of grandeur always crack me up, but they’re also kind of heartbreaking... especially when they show up during fights with his brothers :(

That one hurt. And the worst part? I can’t even be mad at Roman or Kendall for joking... but Logan, who’s not even in the scene?

Kendall spirals after fighting with Rava and then he asks Comfrey to ask Connor to take off his coat once more and this time Willa gets really angry.

WILLA DEFENDING HIM!!!! (the proud little smile he gives after that… I love them sm)

At the end of the episode, Connor just randomly show up to be the dad of the group again 😭 (this is when Roman pushes Kendall, knocking him down)

Ugh this scene makes me sad blah blah

Sometimes I think about how helpless Connor must feel seeing his two younger brothers grown up but still stuck in these childish fights. I imagine him actually trying to help them when they were kids — like he says in this ep, taking them to camp ‘cause Logan couldn’t care less. But now they’re adults, all messed up from Logan’s crap, and Connor can’t really fix it anymore. Idk, that hits me hard.

Anyway! Yayyy, great, let’s end this post on a super sad note lol.
