finally captured some recordings i'm happy with <3 rest of tonight is gonna be for decorating + scanning in the zine and linking downloads for the audio files

#btw transferring songs to computer is sooooo easy w this keyboard. my old casio would store songs in this weird proprietary audio format #that NOTHING could read. so you were just stuck. i had to find some reddit person who made software allowing you to convert the casio files #to midi #but w this current keyboard it saves shit as .wav and all you gotta do is hit 'copy' and it saves it to the flash drive in like 5 seconds #and i was able to play that shit on my computer immediately. so now all i gotta do is convert the wav to mp3

all star rail character models and 3D assets are available for download on aplaybox (afaik, theyre uploaded directly by Hoyo) and can be used for noncommercial purposes!

#they download in a .pmx format #so you might have to convert them before you can work with them in most modelling software #personally i used the CATS addon for blender to convert them which seemed to work perfectly fine #honkai star rail #hsr #boothill #hsr aventurine #hsr robin #hsr argenti #urgh. whatever thats enough character tags

hello! sorry to ask the same question twice but i wanted to make sure tumblr didn't eat my ask. is there any chance you might release the brush packs as png files some day? the art program i use just doesn't use abr, and the 'ultimate background and rendering pack' wouldn't work with the converter i tried. if the answer is no, that's cool! it's already really nice that you've released the stuff you have, and i don't want to demand more work (and idk if you can convert them easily or not)

No problem, my inbox is admittedly a mess LOL

If it were only a few brushes then I would attempt this but it's literally. like a hundred brushes＼(º □ º l|l)/ So I don't think this is something I'll be able to swing any time soon :< I also have, admittedly, zero clue how to work with PNG brushes or create them so I worry they may not even function properly if I tried, not to mention a lot of the brushes require the brush engines installed with Clip Studio and PS to work, such as dual brush settings and pen tilt adjustments, much of which wouldn't be preserved if I made manual PNG brush sets out of them.

I'm really sorry about that! If I ever do figure out how to do it in a way that guarantees proper full and efficient conversion, I'll be sure to update the brush pack and put out an announcement! ( ´ ∀ `)ノ～ ♡

today i learned that we weebs are responsible for the existence of the .ass file type. #heritage

#花話 #i actually learned this yesterday i've just been cracking myself up over the 'hashtag-heritage' thing ever since #.ass is a subtitle file btw!!! they're what make the really pretty ones with the elaborate typesetting and positioning n stuff #i always thought they did that shit by burning the fonts into the video via aftereffects or smth but it turns out #that while you could burn an ass file to a video for hardsubbing you can apparently just. like it's a text file you can use a text editor #and also turn them off when watching your stuff if you wish and god i was so surprised when i realized you could do that #with the pretty subtitles bc when using online streaming the soft subs were usually so ugly #anyway through a series of wacky hijinks i've ended up coding a subtitle file type converter these last few hours #and in looking up the standards for how .srt .ass and .vtt files are formatted i learned this gem #and you know what!!!! it makes soooo much sense #of course we weebs went off and made a file type for elaborate subtitle styling and positioning and timing #the intersection of art and technology in the weeb fan sphere is actually pretty cool!! there's niche ass software for so much shit #bc of the tendency of weebs to be into tech and stuff #in my spelunkinh around the old web i've also found a bunch of old specialized scanlation software from the 2000s!!! that's so cool!!!!#i just use a notes program and photoshop but they were out there in 2004 or so making photo editors that #could not only open up and edit multiple images in sequence you could page through but also load up your translation txt file #and i think also had specialized tools for cleaning text bubbles and stuff #and also obviously correcting scan issues and straightening things out AND THIS IS SO COOL!!!!#like we did that!! that's how things were done before i got into anime!!! back when i was a little kid; before i was even rlly sentient!!!!!
