Delhi’s First Beer Brunch at Philtre: Zomato Gold Exclusive Experience

Some of us love beer. Some of us love brunch. But it’s worth wondering whether any of us ever thought of marrying the two. Well, we did. On 4th February, Zomato Gold and Philtre The Bistro hosted Delhi’s first Beer Brunch - exclusively for Gold members. A first of its kind event, the brunch saw the most hip and happening of Gurgaon’s crowd having a beery good time. Zomato Gold members are getting a taste of what being a part of this exclusive dine out club is all about. It is not just about the complimentary drinks or food; it is much much more than that!

The event was a by-invite only brunch, exclusively for a select group of Zomato Gold members. And as is the case for most Gold Experiences, there was a special beer-based menu where all of the food and drinks were on the house for Gold members:

Let the (brew) master speak: The brewmaster Ishan Grover personally took time off to chat with each and every guest, and then spoke to the entire audience about the basics of beer. Microbreweries like Philtre are aiming to create a true beer appreciation culture in India as it is in countries like Germany and Belgium.

Love for beer is blind: Things got kinky quickly—guests were blindfolded (both men and women)—as the participants were asked to identify the beers placed in front of them just by smelling them. Hint: It’s not as easy as it seems in the pics!

Chug life chose them: When it comes to beer chugging contest, everybody was welcome. For the record, 6 seconds was the time taken from the first till the last sip for a 750 ml of IPA. Wow. Simply wow. Also, it wasn’t a male-only bastion. The women were equal to the task with the ladies insisting they too would drink a 750ml mug of beer. Way to go, ladies!

All about the right mix: Winners from the beer chugging contest were taken behind the bar and were given an exclusive mixology (cocktail making) session from the expert mixologist himself and they served cocktails too.

Beery good day indeed: However, it wasn’t only about beer though. The Gold members had an absolute blast socializing with their fellow beer aficionados and enjoying delicious never-before-seen food fare.
