This is another aspect of being a shop owner who sells physical items that are handmade. The process of inventory. Maybe for each shop it's a little different on how they do it. But the general idea is that your cataloging everything that you buy that you need for your creations.

And for me, that includes columns such as item description, the story bought it at, what type of thing is it, what category would I put it in, size etc etc

Then, I have columns for the quantity that the packaging has, the price that I bought the item at, and then thanks to excel formulas, it calculates the price per piece... And continues to calculate the price per piece based on various discount coupons such as 20%, 40%, 50%

And why is this important? Not only to keep on hand what you have, but so that you have a price for everything... So, as you're making things and designing, it helps come up with a price point based on the cost of materials from the items used to create the minder, down to all the items you need for shipping such as mailers and coupon cards.

Some people might get really detailed down to the miniscule. I get the basic chunks. But things like glue? I don't really need to itemize my glue because who knows how much E6000 glue I use.

Anyway, I am incredibly behind on inventory. So far behind. Thankfully, I keep my receipts and when I finish a receipt I mark it off with a red pen.

When I say I'm behind? 6 months behind if not more. Whoops. At least for the majority of the things I'm making now, they're inventory so I don't have to worry
