• W A R S A W • National Museum in Warsaw Masovian Voivodeship NOVEMBER 2021 10 of 10 The history of the National Museum in Warsaw is as complex and turbulent as the history of Warsaw. Over the 150 years of its existence the Museum has gone through many phases. Along with changes to its name and its governance, the Museum struggled to acquire a physical home and a place within the community, while consistently sheltering the legacy of Polish culture even in times of war and political unrest. The National Museum in Warsaw was originally founded in 1862 as the Museum of Fine Arts and is currently one of the oldest art museums in the country. After Poland regained its independence in 1918, the National Museum was ascribed a prominent role in the plans for the new state and its capital city of Warsaw, and the Modernist building in which it currently resides was erected in 1927–1938. #warsaw #heritage #history #testimonial #culturalspace #exhibition #artcollection #baroque #neoclassical #rococo #middleage #nationalheritage #ministryofculture #arre #nationalmuseum #warsawnationalmuseum #nationalmuseumwarsaw #art #fineart #picture #sculpture #basrelief #metal #glass #marble #ceramics #porcelain #crystal (at Warsaw, Poland) https://www.instagram.com/p/CXgsdUrMo1SHqNsQXnBK-L_4inQU4zHQ1yQ78U0/?utm_medium=tumblr

Extra Credit Post
Hi all!
For an opportunity at some extra credit this week, you may write a 200-300 word post in which you analyze the cultural significance of a location that you frequent. Specifically, I want you to discuss how the architecture/physical make-up of the place contributes to its overall purpose and cultural importance. You may choose to discuss the way the chairs are built, how desks are arranged, how light is distributed, color schemes, ceiling height, publicness/privacy, etc, etc, etc. Be sure that you are citing specific elements of the space and explaining how they contribute to the overall purpose/significance.
Post this by next Sunday (end of day) to receive Blog credit equivalent to a blog post (many of you have missed one or two, and would benefit from this!).
