Ack so I guess a router wasn't part of the deal with the new ISP D:
And until I have a router, my only connection to the internet is my limited number of tracfone credits D:
Uhhhh does anyone want to buy a $150 art commission from me real quick, so I can get a compatible router from the local walmart and have internet access again??
Or like if you've got a few bucks you can spare to toss my way, here's my ko-fi and paypal links:

Types of WiFi Antennas
Omnidirectional Antennas
Description: These antennas radiate signals in all directions (360 degrees horizontally).
Use Cases: Ideal for general-purpose WiFi coverage in homes, offices, and small outdoor areas.
Directional Antennas
Description: These antennas focus the signal in a specific direction, providing longer range and better performance in that direction.
Use Cases: Used for point-to-point connections, such as between buildings or for targeted coverage in large open areas.
Yagi Antennas
Description: A type of directional antenna with a high gain, often used for long-distance communications.
Use Cases: Suitable for rural areas where the WiFi source is far from the user, such as connecting to distant WiFi hotspots.
Parabolic Grid Antennas
Description: These antennas have a parabolic shape, providing very high directional gain.
Use Cases: Used for very long-distance point-to-point links, often in combination with outdoor WiFi systems.
Panel Antennas
Description: Flat antennas that can be mounted on walls or poles, offering moderate to high gain.
Use Cases: Ideal for point-to-multipoint setups, covering a specific area with stronger signal.
Popular Brands and Models in India

Buying Considerations
Range and Gain
Higher gain antennas provide better range but may have a narrower coverage area.
Consider the environment (indoor vs. outdoor) and the distance you need to cover.
Compatibility
Ensure the antenna is compatible with your router or access point.
Check for connectors (RP-SMA, N-Type) and ensure they match your equipment.
Usage Environment
Indoor antennas are typically less rugged than outdoor models.
For outdoor use, look for weatherproof and durable designs.
Regulations
Be aware of local regulations regarding the use of high-gain antennas and frequency bands.
Where to Buy
Online Retailers: Amazon India, Flipkart, Snapdeal, etc.
Electronics Stores: Reliance Digital, Croma, Vijay Sales, etc.
Specialized IT Shops: Local computer and networking equipment stores.
Tips for Optimal Use
Position antennas in a central location for omnidirectional coverage.
Elevate antennas to reduce obstructions and improve line-of-sight.

How to Dlink Router Setup Without Modem?
The problem might occur if you're utilising your router to build a private local network, increase the range of your Wi-Fi, or for some other particular reasons.
Tumblr media
This thorough guide will show you how to configure your "D-Link router without a modem" so that it functions as a potent tool for local networking.
1. Determine Your Router's Capabilities
The first step is to see if this configuration is supported by your D-Link router. Not every router is made to function without a modem. For details on the router's capabilities, check the manual or go to the D-Link website. These routers are frequently referred to as "bridge mode" or "router mode."
2. Hardware Setup
It's time to begin the hardware installation once you've determined that your router is appropriate for this configuration.
Tumblr media
Turn on the router by plugging it into an electrical outlet. Connect your computer to one of the LAN (Local Area Network) ports on the router using an Ethernet connection. The initial configuration requires this connected connection.
3. Access the Router's Web Interface
You must visit the router's web-based setup page in order to configure it. The default IP address of the router should be typed into the address bar of an open web browser on your computer. Common IP addresses for D-Link routers include 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.1.1. For the precise IP address, consult the user guide for your router.
4. Login to the Router
A username and password must be entered in order to access the router's settings. Try entering "admin" for both fields if you haven't modified the default values for these credentials. The login credentials should be changed for security reasons.
5. Internet Configuration
You will have to manually enter your Internet Service Provider (ISP) information into the router because you are configuring the router without a modem.
Tumblr media
To get the relevant information, which normally includes the IP address, subnet mask, and DNS server details, get in touch with your ISP. Put these parameters in the router's configuration.
6. Local Network Settings
Adjust the router's local network settings as needed. You can enable the DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) server to automatically assign IP addresses to devices on your local network. Ensure that your router's DHCP server is activated.
7. Wireless Network Configuration
Set your SSID (Network Name) and password to configure your Wi-Fi network. For wireless device connections to your router, this is essential.
8. Security Measures
Put security measures in place to prevent unauthorised access to your network. Use WPA3 encryption on your Wi-Fi network and set a strong administrator password.
Tumblr media
 9. Testing Your Network
Test your network after configuring the router to make sure everything is working as it should. Check internet connectivity on a variety of devices connected to your Wi-Fi network, and make sure all settings are being used as intended.
Conclusion
For a number of networking requirements, setting up a "D-Link router without a modem" can be a workable alternative. This post has showed you how to set up a private local network, increase your Wi-Fi range, or experiment with various network setups. You may efficiently administer your network without a typical modem using the correct D-Link router and the instructions provided here, giving you flexibility and control over your network environment.

D-Link router local
D-Link is the leading name in manufacturing of the networking hardware products. The D-Link routers are the best in class routers compared to the routers of other brands. D-link is dedicated towards the betterment of the users of their products worldwide. The D-Link products are high-tech and reliable to use. D-Link has a wide range of products which they manufacture like wireless routers, Wi-Fi range extenders, cloud cameras and storage devices etc. The D-Link routers can be configured by logging in to the web domain http://dlinkrouter.localin the address bar of the browser. If you face any problem in connecting to the D-Link router through www.dlinkrouter.local, then you need to login to the router web portal through the default IP address http://192.168.1.1or http://192.168.0.1
How can we login to the router through www.dlinkrouter.local?
The D-Link router needs to be configured before being put to use in the network. The most common mistake users do is that they try to enter to the setup page through the default IP address 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1. Most often, the users end up in entering the wrongly spelled IP address. Therefore, D-Link created a much more user-friendly web domain name www.dlinkrouter.local that is easy to remember and easy to use.
Updating the firmware of the D-Link router
What is a firmware of the router?
The firmware is the basic working power of any router. D-link routers have an efficient, safe and secure firmware. The firmware holds all the instruction sets, login credentials and other details regarding your network. Therefore, it is important to update our D-Link router firmware from time to time.
Need for updating the firmware of the router.
The firmware of the router needs to be updated as soon as the update has been released. The update in a firmware brings in the latest changes and customizations in the router as well as it functioning and graphic user interface. You should regularly check for the updates on the D-Link website in the download center.
Tumblr media
How to update the firmware of the router through http://dlinkrouter.local
Visit the D-Link support website. The web address for the same is http://support.dlink.com and navigates towards the download center on the site.
Search for the appropriate update file regarding your router’s device model number.
Click on the update file (if released) and save it into the specific location of your choice in the computer.
Now log in to the router’s configuration portal through the link www.dlinkrouter.localand enter the username and password to get into the page.
Now, look out for the Administrative tools on the top right of the screen and select firmware update tab.
This will prompt for locating and uploading the update file that was downloaded earlier. Double-click the downloaded file and the upload process will start and will take a few seconds.
Note – The upload process should not be interrupted in any case and wait for the upload process to complete properly. The upload process will include the reboot of the router so don’t panic. Just relax and sit back your router will be updated within a few seconds.
