Summary:

Following John Hastur’s disqualification from the GOMENS charity race because of drug charges (read more on page 23), Belle Ebuth, also known as Bee, starts this year’s Rally Championship as UK number one driver, followed closely by Toni Crowley.  Crowley, 28, hopes that their performance at the charity race will allow them to put an end to the dry spell that seemed to have struck last year, with only 5 wins through the whole championship. Whether they will compete under GOMENS sponsorship remains unsure as of today. Ebuth remains favourite to win in all next November (complete portrait on page 25). MotorSportToday, April 5 2024

Tannoy Definition DC8 – Loa Nhỏ Đa Tài

Giới nghe nhạc Châu Âu từng cho rằng không dòng loa nào có chất “Ăng Lê” hơn Tannoy. Với chất âm sang trọng, ấm áp và lãng mạn luôn là niềm mơ ước của không ít dân chơi Audio trên thế giới. Nâng cấp từ hệ Definition, đôi loa bookshelf DC8 vẫn giữ được chất âm rất Tannoy ấy, nhưng phù hợp với nhiều thế loại âm nhạc hơn những đôi loa Tannoy cổ vốn xuất sắc trong màn trình diễn vocal và nhạc cụ đơn chiếc.

  Kiểu dáng thiết kế 

DC8 có thiết kế loa đồng trục hai loa, hai đường tiếng với loa tweeter được chế tạo theo công nghệ WideBandTM (dải rộng) cùng tuyến cao rộng mở. Loa tweeter chất liệu titanium bố trí giữa tâm của driver bass, đường kính 20cm với nón loa làm bằng bột giấy ép cùng gân loa cao su mềm. Loa tweeter sử dụng họng kèn dẫn sóng, thiết kế dạng cánh hoa tuylip đặc trưng của Tannoy. Thùng loa khá lớn với chiều cao 47cm và thể tích 19 lít, lớn hơn hầu hết các cặp loa thông thường, cho phép DC8 tái tạo âm bass xuống ngưỡng dưới 40Hz. DC8 cong về phía sau theo hình bán cầu, nhằm triệt tiêu sóng đứng. Vỏ loa màu vàng cánh dán, phủ sơn mài bóng, giúp đôi loa nổi bật với vẻ đẹp sang trọng.

Tuy nhiên, DC8 vẫn giữ nguyên thiết kế loa đồng trục danh tiếng của Tannoy. Bên cạnh dòng loa BBC được nhiều studio chọn làm loa kiểm tra như: Roger, Spendor, Harbeth…thì Tannoy cũng xuất hiện từ hàng chục năm trư���c trong các phòng thu. Thiết kế loa này vẫn được nhiều nhạc sĩ hòa âm, phối khí tên tuổi trên thế giới (có cả Việt Nam) sử dụng để xử lý các bản phối. Bí quyết nằm ở khả năng tái hiện âm thanh chính xác khi cả loa tweeter và loa bass đều có độ tương đồng cao về pha và thời gian trong thiết kế này.

Nhằm tạo ra bộ phân tần với tín hiệu “sạch” nhất có thể, các linh kiện của bộ phận này được thiết kế theo triết lý “đơn giản, trực tiếp”, sử dụng các cuộn cảm lõi kim loại đa lớp, ít suy hao, đảm bảo phát huy tối đa màn trình diễn của dải trầm. Trong khi đó, để đảm bào chất lượng âm thanh của dải cao, DC8 sử dụng các tụ polypropylene chuẩn audiophile được xử lý sai âm với chất liệu Tannoy DMTTM. Tất cả được xử lý theo qui trình DCT-xử lý lạnh sâu nhằm đạt đến độ phân giải cao hơn, tái tạo âm thanh tự nhiên và gắn kết hơn. Trên thực tế, bộ phân tần xử lý ở nhiệt độ lạnh, xuống đến -1900C và phục hồi nhiệt độ bình thường trong khoảng thời gian theo thiết kế. Quá trình xử lý lạnh và phục hồi nhiệt độ này giúp các kết cấu phân tử bên trong linh kiện của bộ phân tần gia tăng độ ổn định, giảm thiểu ứng suất nội tại, nâng cao chất lượng truyền dẫn tín hiệu và độ chi tiết.

Phối ghép và thưởng thức 

húng tôi sử dụng ampli Cambridge Azur 851A tích hợp class D, công suất khá lớn 120W/kênh (8 Ôm) làm thiết bị đánh cặp với DC8. Sở dĩ chúng tôi chọn ampli này do chất âm Azur 851A với thiết kế mạch công suất class D khá êm và trong trẻo, gần giống trung âm của ampli đèn-dòng sản phẩm mà loa Tannoy rất “ưa”. Ngoài ra, lý do chúng tôi không chọn ampli đèn để đánh cùng DC8 là vì tuy thuộc loại bookshelf khá lớn, song thể thích thùng của DC8 vẫn chưa thật lý tưởng để tái hiện âm trầm dày sâu mà một ampli đèn công suất nhỏ có thể tái hiện. Với kết cấu thùng loa như vậy, một chút sức mạnh ở ampli công suất là điều cần thiết. Hiện nay , giải pháp dung hòa giữa sức mạnh của ampli bán dẫn và chất mid ngọt-ấm của ampli đèn là những ampli chạy mạch Class D. Phần nguồn phát, chúng tôi sử dụng CD-DAC 15.3 của Music Hall đề nghe nhạc từ đĩa CD và file lossless.

Với bản Autumn Leaves trong phần trình diễn của Eric Clapton, hệ thống không giấu được xuất thân Tannoy: Giọng mid dày và lộ, hơi tiến về phía trước người nghe. Trong khi đó, trung âm và dãi cao nhuyễn, ngọt và êm. Giọng ca của Eric Clapton trầm buồn, ấm áp, được tái hiện đúng cả kỹ thuật ngân nga, nuốt âm theo lối hát tự sự của nghệ sĩ nhạc blues ở tuổi xế chiều. Giai điệu R&B chậm rãi với nhịp trống khoan thai, buông lơi hòa quyện với tiếng thổn thức từ cây Fender Stratocaster trong tay Eric Clapton khiến ca khúc bất tử Autum Leaves vốn được liệt vào loại nhạc buồn, nay càng bật lên màu sắc u hoài qua “hơi thở Tannoy”.

Âm thanh của cặp loa này có thể khiến người nghe chịu ngay từ đầu với những người coi âm nhạc là trên hết chứ không phải những người chăm chăm nghe để bắt lỗi thiết bị. DC8 có giọng loa ấm ngọt với độ gai mộc nhất định, nhưng không quá lộ chi tiết tiết mà có sự tiêt chế, đủ để hướng người nghe vào cảm xúc của bản nhạc hơn là bóc tách bản phối theo lối kỹ thuật. Nếu so với những dòng thấp hơn như: Mercury, Precision, Revolution…thì âm thanh của Definition nói chung và DC8 nói riêng vẫn chi tiết, bong tách, khoáng đạt hơn. 

Bản Take Five trong album Time Out của nhóm tứ tấu Dave Brubeck là bản phối mẫu mực cả về chất lượng bản ghi được DC8 chơi với tinh thần vừa phóng khoáng, vừa lãng mạn của Jazz. Tiếng chổi sắt xào xạc trên symbal tạo ra âm thanh lanh tanh tinh tế được loa treble của DC8 tái hiện tơi nhuyễn, mềm mại. Ở bản phối này, cây piano của Dave Brubeck chỉ giữ vai phụ, chơi một số hợp âm nhất định làm bè đệm cho tiếng kèn saxo chơi giai điệu chính. Đúng như sự mong đợi, tiếng saxo nổi trên nền nhạc với âm hình rõ khiến người nghe cảm nhận được vị trí góc tỏa âm của miệng kèn, một khoảng cách tương đối khi so với vị trí của hai cặp loa. Tiếng kèn dày và ngọt, DC8 “chơi” saxo không quá chi tiết mà để cho tiếng kèn phiêu trên nền nhạc lấy cảm hứng cho người nghe là chính. Giọng mid-high và âm treble uyển chuyển, không chói gắt khi được phối ghép đúng cách. ở đoạn solo trống, tiếng run của màng trống ở các turn khác nhau, có cao độ khác nhau, được tái hiện tự nhiên, cho người nghe cảm nhận độ rung, độ đanh của từng turn trống, âm lan tỏa. Song cảm giác này chưa thật rõ ràng như ở một số cặp loa lớn với driver riêng phụ trách dải mid.

Chuyển sang các album tân nhạc của Việt Nam, DC8 đủ sức chơi hay hầu hết bản tình ca nhạc Việt. Bởi các bản phối tân nhạc phần lớn hưởng người nghe vào cảm xúc lãng mạn, nồng nàn, vốn là “giọng” của DC8. Bản Niệm khúc cuối với tiếng hát của Sĩ Phú nhẹ nhàng đưa đẩy cảm xúc đến người nghe một cách tự nhiên, đúng với lối hát đầy ngẫu hứng của chàng ca sĩ tài hoa, nhưng bạc phận. Giọng ca ấm đượm chan chứa cảm xúc của Sĩ Phú giữ nguyên nét quý phái, kể cả những nối luyến điệu nghệ đầy chất “Sĩ Phú”.

Âm bass khá ấn tượng với cặp loa bookshelf có lẽ nhờ kich thước khá lớn (đường kính 20cm). Những âm trầm sâu nhất có thể xuống dưới ngưỡng 40Hz, tạo sức lan tỏa nhất định. Tương đồng với màu âm ấm, ngọt của dải trên, âm bass êm và nhẹ nhàng, phù hợp với thể loại nhạc chậm. Không phải là ngoại lệ so với phần lớn dòng loa Tannoy, âm trầm không tập trung tái tạo về tốc độ, nên cặp loa này không thật phù hợp với các thể loại nhạc cần tái tạo những beat đập chắc mạnh với những cú giật tốc độ của rock, dance, pop. “Chơi khó” DC8, chúng tôi bật bản hit những năm 1980, I want to break free của Queen. Âm nhạc quá êm dịu, mượt mà. Dù vẫn nẫy lên toàn bộ chi tiết của bản nhạc, nhưng vẫn giống như romance hơn là bản rock and roll trộn lẫn beat của dance được chơi một cách tưng bừng. Tuy nhiên, khi nghe với dòng nhạc phù hợp, nó vẫn khiến người thỏa mãn nhờ sự cân bằng giữa các dải âm, từ cao đến thấp. Nhạc phẩm Beat Hotel của Allan Taylor với tiếng acoustic bass sâu được hệ thống trình bày khá ổn. Cặp bass 20cm cũng tạo được âm trầm dày, êm, lan tỏa, nhưng không bùng nhùng.

Chất giọng của DC8 có thể làm hài lòng những người ưa gu ngọt ngào, dễ nghe và thích nhạc tình. Song với một số gu nghe nhạc khác, thiên về chi tiết hoặc đòi hỏi độ thô mộc, “cơ bắp”, DC8 chưa thể đáp ứng. Vì thể cặp loa này không hẳn là dòng loa trung tính, mà nó chơi nhạc với màu âm riêng biệt. Ưu điểm của DC8 là dễ nghe và có thể nghe với nhiều thể loại nhạc khác nhau.

In this AU story, Arizaphale and Crowley are more or less thirty-years-old. Aziraphale is a professional dancer (and a very good one). I can't wait to draw him dancing!

It was quite disturbing to draw Crowley without their demonic eyes! But their hair are quite the same as in the TV-show (2008!Crowley) so everything is fiiiine for me. (I LOVE when Crowley has long hair, so much easier for me to draw it lol)

Will you recognise aaaall the easter-eggs hidden in this cover? I had a lot of fun designing all these GO-inspired logos and trademarks!Teehee!

The car is inspired by 2017 Sebastien Ogier's car, the Ford Fiesta RS WRC (a Frenchiiiiiie just like meeee). I know NOTHING about rallyes and rally cars, so I had to do a little bit of research to be accurate. Plus, it's the first time I reinvent/draw a car, that wasn't easy but I really like the result. Shem (yes, the car has a name) is inspired from the Black Red-Belly Snake as a reference to Crowley's snake apparence in the TV-Show.

Well! I hope you'll like this first chapter! Wait for more, I have a loooot of other DMTTM WIPS and logos and stickers waiting to be achieved!

After competing in a rally race for charity and claiming victory with now life partner Toni Crowley, Aziraphale, also known as The Angel, continues to surprise us with his dance exhibition Leaving the Garden, blending together classical and modern dancing. The show offers a vast variety of costumes and references in a breathtaking staging, and Aziraphale’s own closing performance steals the show entirely, leaving the audience dazzled.  Aziraphale, born Ezra Fell, offers a beautiful, sincere and harrowing ode to resilience through two hours of code breaking dancing.  Leaving the Garden is without doubt a must see on the West End stage this winter.  West End Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Hello my dear readers!!!

This chapter is the last one for this fic (if you're good, I might post some saucy NSFW extra scenes that I wrote, but it'll be in a few weeks)

And it's very very special.

Why? Because half of it (the entire Crowley POV at the beginning) was written by my good friend @searchingforakeythatdoesntexistand and translated by yours truly!! So, yeah. Not only does she make stunning illustrations, she's also a very skilled writer (go check her AO3, it's worth it!!!)

This chapter also comes with carefully selected musics so don't hesitate to click the footnotes (I broke my own head making them so...)

DMTTM, the Summary!

At GOMENS, world-renowned sports brand and sponsor, one takes pride in endorsing the UK’s most talented athletes. On the other hand, one would like to ignore the fact that their two top of the bill, Aziraphale and Crowley, have heartily hated each other since the day they met. But what should be expected, when one knows these two?

Aziraphale is a professional dancer, Crowley a rally driver. While the former switches between fierce competitions and prestigious stages, the other goes from one track to another across the world, clearing out every prize from behind the wheel of his racing car.

Two beings, two worlds, two universes that everything should keep apart. But an unprecedented charity event is getting set up at GOMENS, and quickly, their own athletes will have to compete with and assist each other in turns.

Two worlds, two personalities... But if they want to run for a cause that matters to the both of them, Crowley and Aziraphale are going to have to find an Arrangement.

Hi dears! It's been one month since my wrist surgery, but still, it felt like an eternity ! Lurking on the fandom is great, but i love writing and drawing so much more 😋

With my surgeon's permission, I am allowed - to try - to draw with my orthesis so I won't lose any mobility in my fingers. So this week, after a few easy tasks and colouring on ancient wips and linearts, I have finally started to draw a new DMTTM artwork. It has been long and difficult because I'm not very precise with my orthesis, and I'm easily tired. But whatever! I can draw, I am FREEEE-

Good Omens - December reads part #2- fanfics recs 🤓🩷🎄

I ´ve decided to write a short summary each month about the books i read. I need this to let go of the stories, its a nice way of saying good-bye to them and to spread the love to the authors and to you. 🩷

I only read finished stories and rarely one-shots. You will find no WIPs in here, as i really like to dive deep into the plot and i keep losing track of WIPs. Also you will only find happy or at least hopeful endings here - i couldn´t handle anything else.

Also i try to find every author here on tumblr to link-to, but sadly some times i am out of luck. If you happen to know them, please tell them, write to me in the comments or DM me and i will update the post!

Multichapter Fanfics

Human AU. Ok, look here. I started with That´s what happens when you sign on the line - thinking it is a completed fic of 4 chapters. Turns out it actually stops kind of midst-story, because its a whole series. So i had to keep going through and read all the other (10!) fics to get the whole series, right? Crowley is in search of a professional dom and Aziraphale is not whom he would have chosen but very much who he needs. The stories are mostly about them having sessions in one or another way, their relational development is only a background-telling. Consists of 10 fics with timeline and another 10 oneshots with no clear timeline. Smut:Plot-Ratio = 90:10!

The Angel´s Gambit (T) by @dragonfire42

Crowley questions his angel, why he has a chessgame put up in his shop. So Aziraphale tells him, that he plays chess with Death. And why. A tale through their shared history. And an explanation, just to why Crowley slept as much as he did.

Human AU. Crowley is a famous glasblower and has a 1 year residency at the Ineffable Museum. Aziraphale is a shy preservationist with a secret crush on Crowley. They meet and the rest is ineffable. Besides the typical plot there is a great part dedicated to dealing with anxiety and neurodiversity. This was very informative for me and i will have to take a deeper dive on ND too.

After the end of S2, Crowley stays in the bookshop - more or less just to keep him occupied. When Aziraphale shows up months later, they talk - but not only. And it has consequences ... A little bit of angst, a little bit of smut and a little bit of plot - nicely put together. Mind the tags!

Most funny quote: "Someone help me, there are two of them, he thought to himself as he stood in the doorway to the kitchen shaking his head." 😅

AU, though not only human. Aziraphale is a priest in a small town. One dark night on his way home he stumbles upon a starved and frozen creature and takes it in. Unbeknownst to him, Crowley is an incubus - a demon that feeds on sex. At least usually. But the priest has a secret on his own, too. As the walls are quite thin, it doesn´t take Crowley long to detect it.

A soft and hot and somehow still tender story.

Human AU, Crowley is a rally driver and Aziraphale is a professional dancer. For a charity event they get to drive a rally together. Wouldn´t be any problem, if they would like each other. Which they don´t. Enemies to friends to lovers-story you really can dive in to. 🤓 What i really liked about it: Crowley has a vulv🩷 but wears a binder and goes by he/him. Gave me a lot to think.

Human AU. Crowley is happy, when his shitty neighbours finally move. He is even more happy, when he sees his new neighbour moving in. It is only polite to welcome him with a glass of homemade caramel sauce, right? Or to show him the best restaurants nearby or how to cook the sauce himself. Lucky for him, Aziraphale has an other strength than cooking ... 😅

I just tumbled upon this author but will definitely read more of her/him/them!

...Silence, only interrupted by the remnants of the whistle. Aziraphale raised the blindfold up on his forehead and his eyes fell on Crowley. His cheeks strewn with black shivered, and a soft, blazing, almost amazed smile lit up his eyes that had remained steel-like until now. Gone was the tortured, terrified expression of the performance's first minutes. What remained was the exaltation of the moment, a burning, feverish, devouring emotion. An aura that pierced through Crowley, setting them ablaze.

This expression, this smile, this look … Aziraphale usually kept it for the secrecy of their embraces.

Oh, fuck.

Aziraphale without doubt read the words on his lips, and the light in his eyes turned playful – provocative – for a brief moment.

The piano resumed, and Aziraphale too with it, his blindfold forgotten at the edge of the stage. The music turned spirited, frantic, definitely lighter. A cello, and other string instruments. For the first time, lyrics were heard, as tender, passionate and hopeful as Aziraphale’s dance had become.

But Crowley had recognized the music from the very first note...

Summary:

Following the incident that happened today at the AOTY [Athlete of the year, ed.] award red carpet, GOMENS representatives have issued a warning to both Toni Crowley and Aziraphale. They have been informed that the brand will not tolerate this kind of public behaviour in the future. No more comments will be issued on the subject.
