Alien Model Research

    During the research & design stage, unfortunately no reliable & peered reviewed academic research  document can be found on the QUT library , even with search term “extra-terrestrial “. Meaning the only informative sources available are those from movies, cartoons, illustrations, books, and more. After looking through multiple examples of alien designs, the desired characteristic design narrowed down to those from “Paul”, “District 9”, “Megamind”, design by Dxbdesign, and the website “Space Alien Invasion”. 

    Finally, the characteristic design of this second part of the assessment will be using  the alien designs from both “Space Alien Invasion” , 4th picture, and also “Paul” , 2nd picture. The alien from the 2011 movie “Paul” has the desired body parts portion; big head, long hands/ legs, slim body with round belly, and the alien from the website “Space Alien Invasion” gives the desired design direction . which is more similar to human than other alien designs while still not quite as human at the same time.

ID DESIGN, mall of the emirates had a wide range of neon colours of these small stuff, and quite affordable as well.

we also loved that pendant light, with its bright colour from outside and textured surface inside, with the light inside and your rough walls, it could be a perfect catch. you can place two of them over a simple wooden dinning, with neutral coloured chairs around, our TIP is that, if you used that pendant, not to for for coloured chairs for the dinning.

I enjoy creating illustration series, although sometimes I have bad days usually in the middle part when I get a little bit bored and at the same time anxious of the artwork's end result. But this seems to be the most enjoyable and satisfying design series to date so far. I've explored a number of sketches and draft before starting rendering it to digital art. One of the key element I look for a great design which is commonly ignored is composition. A well-composed design with negative space can be very intriguing. A viewer don't need to spent time gazing at the layout to judge if the artwork is extraordinary. When I was first introduced to Photoshop halftone screen effect (circa 2000) I initially got hooked into its retro dot pattern look and tried to integrate it in some of my layouts. During that time it became a trend within our design team, to the point that it was over used client discouraged us of usage. Now with the distressed textures pattern, lines etc. the effect is making a big comeback in my illustrations forming an integral part in my style execution. . .
