I want to tell you something. I think it's pretty important. You see, for the last 2 weeks, I've found it hard to post on social media and to write my blog. When I'm not working, I'm constantly reading news from as many sources as I can and doing my best to consume real, factual news alongside the global narrative. These last 3 days, I've struggled to just get daily stuff done because of my health, I've got work problems that make me want to cry and then I'm thinking "what can I do to help those that need it most right now? I'm not doing enough.". I want you to know that your small act of kindness, peaceful protest, signature on a petition, words of hope to someone in need means something. It means everything because you are inspiring and fuelling the positive and hopeful narrative that humanity needs. At the same time, look after yourself and your state of mind. It is not wrong to use your voice for a purpose greater than yourself and also go home to a cup of tea and some Netflix or blogging. It is not wrong to Instagram a photo amidst a protest and then a lipstick an hour later. Making yourself miserable for the cause solves nothing and helps no one. (I felt the need to share this based on a lot of social posts I've seen over the last couple days and my own thoughts. A single superhero that swoops in to save the day is fiction. People working together is what makes the difference.
