Can someone please explain this to me? And many still say climate change isn’t real. My concern is the homeless and the families who have to be out there with there children. I’ve seen it while I lived at The Samaritan House and when I visit The Gathering Place here in Denver. Can we not do better for our fellow human beings? Homelessness mostly isn’t a choice. And in Denver where there are buildings that are just…there, can’t we change and turn the tide? Have you ever seen a young woman in slippers get on the bus with a baby carriage, knowing she’s keeping her child warm but putting herself at risk? Do better, Denver. Do better, Mayor Hancock. Do better, Governor Polis. And allow the homeless to vote. Houses represent safety, identity, comfort, privacy, survival, and collective memory. They are temples. Everyone needs a private place to feel safe in some capacity.
