Today is the 1 year AO3 anniversary of Slow Show by @mia-ugly. I am beyond grateful that this experience (and it is an experience) has existed in my life for a year and felt it needed commemorating. 🎂  

I’m not a creator but I made this playlist for me, so I could take the fic with me, have it with my eyes closed, while driving -- you get it. Today seems like an appropriate day to share it.

The girls had run away, but the bear called to them: ‘Snow-white and Rose-red, do not be afraid; wait, I will come with you.’ 

Quick notes! 

Based on the Grimms’ fairytale Snow-white and Rose-red, I’ve taken Snow-white, Rose-red and the bear! 

My character, Lucrezia de Medici is Snow-white; YES, i took the liberty to switch personality stances! She’s the Defense General of Lazarus, and a Pythoness (her power being metal manipulation). Also, yes, she’s still in need to be finished into actuality. 

Her sister will naturally be the one on spotlight in this request, as Rose-red, and should by no means take any form of any stereotypical damsel-ness to contrast! (Although that could be bomb either way) I’m not really good with playing females, so as you can see my perspective on extreme spectrums are still black and white. I’ve got the grumpy, unforgiving sister who loves her ideally sweet and ever merciful little angel. 

The cursed bear, I thought, could have a sweet twist in this plot, in that the ending of the original story does not pan out here — it is instead Rose-red who is the romantic interest of the cursed bear, which is by no means only preferable as solid base, but is not mandated to last or is a permanent idea. (Whatever you prefer, should you decide to get in this mess) I have some rather dastardly ideas! (well, one) 

The deviance here is that the cursed bear and Lucrezia actually have some weird sexual tension going on?? Which is a no no because Lucrezia loves her sister to death?? So stop with all them stares??? 

Anyway, i’d also like to mention that Phillip Koenig, the Chancellor of Lazarus, is their half-brother! Their father, based on King Midas, who actually could turn anything he touched into gold, was married to Phillip’s mother, but left his first family and met the girls’ mother, fell in love for real and spent the rest of his happy years with his family. (Yep, Lucrezia is also very close with daddy.) Needless to say, the families have a rather mutual aversion to each other. 

I’d also just like to put out there that i’m not particularly uh, what’s the word, strict over any details. At the most, i’d just really like the feel of the characters and their details that i’ve sprinkled on them, but once you claim them, the bets are off and the muse train comes running through. Lemme know if they tickle your fancy!! <3 

P. S. de Medici was the name of one of the most influential families during the Renaissance. Yes this was on purpose, yes i want to be cool. 

rose-red  // SOOTHSAYER / PYTHONESS / OPEN OCCUPATION  fc suggestion: jessica brown findlay 

porcelain skin wrapped around velvet bones; the delicacy of her very bodice declares an audience befitting god, the halo around the curve of her jaw, detailing her collarbones instead. she flatters with the bat of an eyelash, smiles as if to enchant, breathing warmth and grace as if one would not survive without it. she laughs, and it is as though the orchids become in full bloom, the trees sing and the sky dancing — such is the light that seems to exude from her very pores. 

rose-red is a soothsayer, and does not seem to have any tormented sliver in her body. (her parents had joked that her sister had taken it from her so she may not need to feel it — sometimes, she thinks this is so.) she has an affinity to lightness, to sacred divinity, seemingly unable to find dirt on a beggar’s mug, unable to utter sacrilege or slanderous remarks on whim. she is a prayerful figure, diligently quoting the scriptures and giving affection even to those who do not wish it. 

in this manner, perhaps, should not entirely puzzle one as to find her often lingering in front of the st. marcus cathedral, on the other side of the street, always trying to find an in to participate in their worships, to be a part of the hallowed halls. instead, what should puzzle one is her continual devoted disregard towards the congregation of the cathedral, who not only loathe her, but take every chance they can to pain her, hurt her, abuse her kindness and desecrate her faith. they see her, in her lightness, a false prophet, a spawn of the devil shapeshifted in the form of a kind woman who does not seem to understand hatred.  

cursed bear // OPEN ABILITY / OPEN CREATURE / FIGURE IN THE CONSULATE  fc suggestion:  andrés velencoso

indifference to a wailing maelstrom, the thunder in his steps roars through the earth, commanding, persisting. the power that rests on his very skin salutes that which can corrupt and transform — in his eyes, you see nothing, in his tongue, you hear nothing. in resolute affirmation, the titan in the middle of the room does not need to speak to be seen or heard; neither does he need to approach, to initiate, to act. what commands such transfixed power lies what is in a name. (alas.)  

eloquent, refined and punctual, the likes of him only stand out in the form of unburdened generosity, which the rest of those who can afford a castle, can never do. he is known to have a very dry sense of humour, unable to hold his tongue in the presence of ladies who squabble and screech. he’s also known to be a very light-weight drinker, but has an incredibly powerful memory that it is rather futile to have any challenge involving memory with him.

his almost outspoken integrity boasts the goodwill, the humanitarian that was not forced, but rather nurtured. he’s often seen by the orphanages, doing charity work, giving reading and writing lessons; as well to be seen just out and about on a lovely day with rose-red, giving food and water to the street urchins and homeless haunts.
