As someone who watched Dexter during her high school years, it feels so fucking good to watch Dexter: Original Sin as adult. And they absolute delivered it with the first episode !!! It feels so good to hear the opening credits, to see Patrick Gibson killing it as young Dexter, to see Debra cursing her fav word, to see Masuka being so annoying with his laugh…

I am getting ridiculously mad over Original Sin’s attempts to retcon Brian as always being evil and trying to kill Deb.

He was a perfectly normal boy until the Shipping Yard Massacre.

And now they’re just trying to white-wash Harry’s morality since abandoning a six year old to an institution after watching his mother get murdered and refusing to let him see his brother again.

And we’re all just forgetting that he horribly neglected his daughter, cheated on his wife constantly with CIs, and groomed a child to be a serial killer rather than take him to therapy?

(Plus, Brian got sent to the hospital immediately and he’d never let all that blood get on him and his clothes.)

DEBRA WASN’T EVEN BORN UNTIL AFTER BRIAN HAD BEEN INSTITUTIONALIZED FOR YEARS!

Fuck this monstrosity of a cash-grab prequel.

Original Sin is dead to me. It’s as canon as The Cursed Child.

The Dexter books be like: There is a darkness in me ever on the precipice of spilling out and devouring my world into nothingness. The sandwich I had for lunch was delicious. I usually do not stray from my regular order, but they were running a special, and I’m so glad I did. I suspect the police may not believe the story I told them, as I have noticed a Buick following me for the third consecutive day. The sandwich had ham, roast pork, melted swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard. I’m hesitant to go home because I fear my hot wife may try to fuck me.

I'm kinda excited about Dexter: Original Sin but I'm not really bothered about stuff like Dexter's first kill; it's the Morgan family dynamic and Deb's development I'm most interested in seeing.

I JUST WANNA SEE DEB'S ORIGINS. I want to see what led to Deb being so broken and needy. I want to see her struggle with being alone since her mother is gone and Harry is preoccupied with Dexter. I want to see what made her so codependent on her brother. I want to see her acting out for her families attention with risk taking behaviour; drinking, smoking, messing around with older boys. I want to see Dexter punch the shit out of Deb's bullies or shitty boyfriends. I want to see Deb messed up drunk and sobbing on her brother's shoulder about feeling alone.

And tbf it does seem like we might be getting a little bit of that at least 👀
