#yes the wandering isles is over but also yes nicole and i did spiral about the future of these characters#but also the build that could have been#and i haven't stopped thinking about#god okay like. being able to roll a d3 and give someone that spell slot as an action is VERY fun in a party with this many spellcasters#something about. you're not a spellcaster it does nothing for you personally but you still Have magic and if you give that to someone else.#it could be a counterspell. it could be a revivify.#i get why they changed the class between UA and official (for one thing i don't think i would've felt comfortable jumping into this campaign#with a wild magic table that could have negative effects on the party)#but. holy shit the UA version of the feature that gives spell slots. is simply the sexiest of all time and i think about it way too often#bumping the die up to a d4 or a d6. A SIXTH LEVEL SPELL SLOT. THAT YOU CAN JUST GIVE. AS AN ACTION.#being able to give temp hp with it too. you can't bring someone up but you can keep them from going down.#but most importantly. instead of just being able to do it as an action a set number of times a day#straight up. you take force damage equal to five times the spell slot you give#SIMPLY. SO MUCH. THIS TAKES UP SO MUCH SPACE IN MY BRAIN#barbarian looking their spellcasters in the eye and pouring spellslots into them and taking so much damage from THEMSELVES#maybe you'll roll your con save and get to stay up at one. and maybe you'll go down and if so#you're the tank! having that much extra HP maybe isn't a differencemaker but when your party has that extra spell. maybe that will be#giving temp HP straight out of your own pool of hitpoints#'if you got me you got me' and channeling the magic inside you that you can't even USE into your spellcaster.#a sixth level slot for 30 hp. fair trade.#this literally isn't even meta i simply think this feature is sooo fucking spicy and especially in the final combats where#half resources low spellslots were a big deal.#if i take damage you can heal me. or you can't. but this magic does nothing for me and it could be everything for you.#fucking.
