Released by Digital Equipment Corporation in 1970, the PDP-11 was a 16-bit minicomputer known for its orthogonal instruction set, allowing flexible and efficient programming. It introduced a Unibus architecture, which streamlined data communication and helped revolutionize computer design, making hardware design more modular and scalable. The PDP-11 was important in developing operating systems, including the early versions of UNIX. The PDP-11 was the hardware foundation for developing the C programming language and early UNIX systems. It supported multiple operating systems like RT-11, RSX-11, and UNIX, which directly shaped modern OS design principles. With over 600,000 units sold, the PDP-11 is celebrated as one of its era's most versatile and influential "minicomputers".

The DEC PDP-11 was the one of the first computers I ever programmed. That program was 'written' with a soldering iron.
I was an art student at the time, but spending most of my time in the engineering labs. There was a PDP-11-34 in the automation lab connected to an X-ray spectroscopy machine. Starting up the machine required toggling in a bootstrap loader via the front panel. This was a tedious process. So we ordered a diode-array boot ROM which had enough space to program 32 sixteen bit instructions.
Each instruction in the boot sequence needed to be broken down into binary (very straightforward with the PDP-11 instruction set). For each binary '1', a diode needed to be soldered into the array. The space was left empty for each '0'. 32 sixteen bit instructions was more than sufficient to load a secondary bootstrap from the floppy disk to launch the RT-11 operating system. So now it was possible to boot the system with just the push of a button.
I worked with a number DEC PDP-11/LSI-11 systems over the years. I still keep an LSI-11-23 system around for sentimental reasons.

Things to keep in mind when writing stuff involving (U.S.) federal offices/federal employees/federal contractors:
You need a badge to get in. If you don't have a badge you will at minimum have to go through a metal detector and have your stuff be x-rayed and sign in and then have an escort. You might get a guest lanyard, a temporary ID badge, or a wristband. At maximum you just won't get in.
You can potentially get in with a badge for a different agency, but you will still likely need to sign in and be let in manually, because your badge won't have building access to swipe you in past security
It can take a long time to get a badge, and it's way worse for contractors. For contractors it can take anywhere from days to over a year to get badged.
Working for the federal government doesn't necessarily mean you have a security clearance. A lot of civilian agencies just require a public trust, which generally involves much lower requirements and a much less invasive background check but can involve the equivalent of a Secret clearance background check (namely if you have a law-enforcement sensitive public trust).
You need to get fingerprinted, which may happen at the actual badging office or at a random contracted fingerprinting place. Basically all fingerprinting is digital at this point.
You need to get fingerprinted even if you have already been fingerprinted/badged elsewhere. They generally don't talk to each other.
Having a clearance can make it a bit easier/faster to get a public trust elsewhere due to reciprocity, but it can still take a while.
Federal buildings are often set pretty far back from the road and/or they have barricades in front of them.
It's not uncommon in some agencies to see mix of people in uniform and people not in uniform. Not all uniformed services are military. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps and NOAA Commissioned Officer Corps are both non-armed uniformed services.
Most federal employees operate under the General Service (GS) pay scale, and people will sometimes be referred to as a GS-X (e.g., GS-13, GS-14). This is an easy reference of relative position.
Some federal employees may operate under other pay scales, such as the Federal Wage System for blue-collar workers. High-ranking federal employees may be under the Senior Executive Service (SES) which is above the GS scale. Other agencies (e.g., the SEC) use their own pay scales.

It was as if Deus Machina blessed him with this gift. First - he landed in a perfect spot to protect the local wild life and then met the most beautiful Cardbot known to Machina. He could clearly see your love for nature and how you have chosen an electric car as an alternate mode, so it would cause lesser damage to the surrounding environment.
He had seen you relaxing in the field of flowers, careful to not damage any, but with your size it was sadly unavoidable. You were making a nice flower crown with surrounding plants. It really made Daxter feel a warm sensation inside his chest. He managed to gather up the courage to talk to you and walked over as carefully as he coud with his slightly bigger frame.
It brought you great joy when you noticed you were not alone on this wonderful planet. You didn't have anything against humans, but some of them really got on your nerves, you wanted to be left alone and not to be bothered by their expeditions to your relaxation spot. Meeting Dexter was one of the first things that made you feel welcome here and so you started enjoying his company.
It didn't take long for you to grow found of him in a romantic way. He really could be charming if he wanted to be. He brought you various gifts, took you on scrolls through the forest, spent time with you and generally took care of you and your needs. It really made you feel special and thought - why couldn't it be like this forever? You decided to confess your feelings and he accepted with enthusiasm you hadn't seen before in other Cardbots ever.
After some time you started to worry - where were other Cardbots? Were you really the only ones left? Those thoughts circled often in you processor, only to be assured by Dexter that even if that was true - you still had him! It's not like you need anyone else.
One day you found a nice spot near the lake. It was near sunset and the water had warmed up thanks to the intense heat during the day. Seeing an opportunity to clean you didn't hesitate to find time to visit the lake. You were unaware this would deepen your bond further than imagined.
" Finally ... " You sigh as you step into the water. It's warmth traveling into your system with an enjoyable feeling. You slowly start to splash it onto yourself, eager to feel the water wash any dirt off your frame. Lightly scrubbing any mud from your seams. Even if you loved nature, it could be a real pain sometimes.
As you were enjoying yourself, you failed to notice another Cardbot watching your from the tree line. That was Dexter, completely detached from everything, his optics only on you. He could observe you all day and never get bored. Though today was different, the rays of the Sun that managed to get through the trees shined onto your form, making you seem more heavenly than ever.
He couldn't just stare at you like a total creep, you were his other half for Deus Machina's sake. He decided to slowly emerge from behind the trees, carefully making his way towards you. Your back to him, completely unaware of others presence you were scrubbing at one of the places that was dirtier than the rest. You only realized that someone was there when you felt two strong arms around your waist.
" Enjoying yourself? " Dexter softly placed his helm onto your shoulder blade, caressing your sides with his digits. He brought you both closer to each other, letting his warmth travel to you.
" Of course, I can finally get rid of those small rocks that I was talking about earlier. " That being said Dexter noticed that your back-plating was not touched in the slightest. He moved one of his servos towards the place and started lightly scrubbing the remaining mud that wasn't washed off by water.
" Let me help you, my flower. " Dexter exclaimed, continuing his movements, careful not to cause you any discomfort while doing so. You giggled as your helm turned towards him.
" You really like this planet, don't you Dexter? " Your optics closed, looking like you were smiling at him. His gaze softened as he leaned towards you, covering you with his slightly warmer frame.
"Of course, how could I not? Nature around here is truly breathtaking. On Machina this was a rarity, here - it is everywhere I go and I cannot let those humans ruin its beauty. " He brought his face-plate towards you into a light kiss, sending little sparks of energy towards you.
" Though ... It is not as beautiful as you. " His servo traveled to your mid-section again, caressing it with care. He carefully traced his digits on your seams, tugging and lightly pulling them, showering you in his attention. Your face-plate slightly heated up at the compliment.
" Relax, you need it. " His servos reached down towards your codpiece. The warmth from him instantly send a shiver through your frame. You enjoyed the action and leaned backwards toward the other Cardbot.
His digits pressing into the seams with skillful precision. Knowing how to push your buttons to get what he wants and it was very clear what that was. You held your vent as pleasurable sensations traveled through your frame. Dexter started moving one of his digits in the center of your codpiece making circles.
" Open up for me my flower. " Your face vents released steam from the hotness of your insides. You were in total bliss at affectionate touches of your significant other. How could you not listen? He was treating you so well, you held no objections. The codpiece opened up, releasing the wet valve, greedly begging for further attention. Dexter seeing the opportunity dragged his digit across your folds. He finally got to feel you and this was better than his imagination.
" Dexter ... " You threw your helm back from the stimulation, one of your servos quickly gripped his wrist like your life depended on it. Sweet sounds escaped from you as you slowly started grinding against his contained equipment.
Soon you hear the sound of shifting metal with a groan from Dexter, his spike was finally released from his codpiece. Your sounds and body got his worked up and thanks to that he easily slipped between your stabilizers. He started rubbing his spike against your folds.
" You will always be with me, right my flower? " Dexter sweetly spoke into your audio receptor, having you at his mercy. Slowly dipping his servos towards your anterior node. He started kissing you along your neck cabling, making sure to leave some marks. Whoever laid their optics on you would know to not mess with something that is not theirs.
" Y- yes I will. Please don't stop. " Your optics meet and so did your face-plates, sharing a kiss with even more charge than before, but that didn't bother you in the slightest. Who would even see the aftermath if you probably were here all alone?
His servos joined the passion, one of them playing with anterior node and the other's digit slowly making it's way inside the weeping entrance. How heavenly you felt, sucking him inside further and further, whining and whimpering when he did it too slow for your liking.
After a while one digit turned into two and later into three, with them the tempo of movement followed suit. First it was gentle and slow, turning into harder and faster than before. You were overwhelmed by him, his digits in you, his servo playing with your anterior node and his weeping spike brushing against your stabilizers. Your vision was hazy as you tried to stay standing as long as you could.
Then the movement stopped, Dexter slowly retreated his digits away, creating a popping sound when leaving your valve. They got replaced by the tip of his spike, pressing but not breaching you yet. You couldn't exactly see how it looked like, but you could feel it. It was a little bigger than expected, but it made you even more eager to get it inside you.
" You ready? I don't know if I would be able to stop later. Your noises alone are driving me mad. " You could only give a nod as you then felt his spike making its way into you. The stretch was delicious and pleasurable. Why have you not done it before, it truly felt amazing. Your train of thoughts got interrupted as soon as he started moving his hips, nearly slamming against your ceiling node. Your moans mixing with noises that metal makes against metal.
His spike perfectly hitting every node you needed him to, not even an inch of your inside was left unexplored. You soon reached your peak, but Dexter still was not satisfied. He gently grabbed your wrists and made you take a position that looked like bowing. With your wrists in his servos he started pistoning in and out at an impressive speed. It truly was amazing, finally getting to feel you like this, it was Dexter's dream come true.
Both of you finished together, steam escaping from your vents as an attempt to cool down your overheated systems. Dexter pulled out after a while and your codpiece immediately closed up to not let any of his transfluid to escape your valve. Using the warm water both of you washed and later went into recharge.
A week later after you started hearing about other Cardbots appearing on Earth, be it by rumors or by taken videos that got into the news. Though people started cutting down the trees from the forest you resided in with animals. It really got onto Dexter's nerves, so he started to scare away any person coming onto the construction site. It didn't really help that you were more often in need of fuel and if not given - you would recharge for an entire day.
Dexter left again to scare passers by away from the forest, though it didn't take him long, returning with an injury on his optics. He went onto a rampage, digging holes into the city roads. You accompanied him, not daring to leave him to wound himself further. You were told to wait for him inside the tunnel, he told you he would return after getting rid of a problem. Soon you learned what happened and were taken out into the open by Dexter.
You finally met other Cardbots and the chosen one by the Metal Breath - Jun Grant. It was really enjoyable to talk to someone other than yourself and Dexter. Your fuel problems caught up to you and Mega Ambler decided to do a health check on you. It turns out you were carrying a new generation of Cardbots, probably the soon-to-be first born Cardbots on Earth since the annihilation of Machina. Dexter wouldn't leave you even for a second, always by your side, trying to make you as comfortable as possible. Though you were happy that he managed to make a friend - Fleta Z, which got you a moment for yourself.
For now he hoped everything would be peaceful as before. It was, but not for long, more and more Cardbots keep coming. It seems there won't be a lot of free time anymore.

(Either platonic or romantic, I don't mind! ^^) Like- they can go from sunny days and rainbows everyone and if they get upset the weather suddenly changes into cloudy day with a few thundering here and there, there's probably rain too but it depends on what made you upset lol

will jump if you ever get angry enough to summon some lightning bolts. as mean as it sounds i think she would put some space between the two of you if you're setting loose the aforementioned lightning before or raining everywhere. but that might work out if youre the kind of person who needs some time alone to calm down- she will apologize for giving you some space, i hope you can understand that she doesnt want to be electrocuted </3 but it does offer up a reason for you two to work together to find a system to better regulate yourself, and i think pomni might just be one of your biggest supporters during that!
RAGATHA:
probably has made you a custom/personalized umbrella so you have at least some level of protection against your own rain or even from your own sun rays (eyes!! your eyes!!).. really put her all in making it for you, anything you'd ever want in an umbrella is there. okay jokes aside, i think she would be really good at calming you down enough to quell your storm clouds, and enough for you to recollect yourself enough to calmly communicate your feelings out; she probably lets you hang out in her room once everything is under control (she has lots of stuff in there, doesnt want it to get rained on or zapped)(understandably)
KINGER:
Probably jumps when your little storm cloud above you lets out thunder or lightning; but that might be because im self projecting on kinger again and making him anxious about storms.. shrugs. unlike pomni i think he would try to find a solution right there, offering himself up to talk to you regardless of risk. likes seeing your sunrays cast down because he's well aware that its a visual indicator that youre happy, and that makes him feel more.. sure of himself that everything is fine, or at least as fine as it can be in the digital world. very nice, very sweet
ZOOBLE:
doesnt like water getting into their joints/where their body parts connect since it can make them feel.. weird. slicked or even waterlogged depending on which joint it is. not the best comforter but theyre trying their best; will yell at someone is they made you upset (cough cough jax). as mean as it sounds, they can sometimes get a little overwhelmed/annoyed by your weather patterns, but they do feel bad since they understand its a reflection of your emotions. definitely still cares about you, though. bad at cheering people up, but they will at least make an attempt though unlike some other characters in this post/other characters not in this post, theyre not going to pester until they see your sunrays come back
