NO MATTER THE SIZE OR WEIGHT of a drone when used for personal or financial benefit directly or indirectly, you must be licensed. The use of a drone, for example, capturing images and videos of a real estate listing, even if the operator is not directly being paid for the captured content, is still a commercial drone use as there is a benefit through the sale of the property and the content being used to aid that commercial activity. People taking images or videos to post on their personal social media and streaming sites is allowed but if those channels are monetized, you are now breaking the law and are subject to the above.
Also, a point of notation is that there are automatic NO FLY ZONES in place during natural disasters, wildfires and other circumstances which should always be respected. NEVER FLY A DRONE IN AN ACTIVE EMERGENCY RESPONSE AREA. not only are you risking fines, jail and financial liability, but you are also placing lives and property at risk.

There are many photographers and they do good work but what do they give you in addition to the photos, video or 3D tour? From what we see on the web, not much. In fact most RE photographers send their images overseas to be processed. That's fine if you don't mind images that all look alike, images that have been modified and desaturated until they no longer look like the property. You may think this is good, but buyers want to see the real thing. It is your job to present an accurate representation of what you are selling and those are the tools we strive to provide. As an added BONUS, we then Market you, the Realtor. What do you do with the video links, Matterport links, photo images other than include them in your MLS listing and hope they show up in Zillow, Redfin, etc.? Our competition doesn't care, they did their job and now the rest is up to you. If anyone has been looking for a great example of the disproportionate relationship between labor and capital, consider my job as a real estate media specialist. I provide all the photos, videos, floor plans, drone shots, 3D scans, anything the client considers necessary to market a home, it comes from me. I have lots of regular clients, whom I hear from a few times a year, but I'm constantly scrambling to find my next job just to pay my bills. And that's really the kicker. The realtors I work for get to sell three or four homes a year, and comfortably live on a six-digit income, meanwhile I'm working 60-80hr weeks for less than a third of that. And the reality is I sell those homes, and I sell A DOZEN A WEEK. It's my work that gets the phone calls, it's my work that drives people in the door, but once I get my check for the photos, that's pretty much fuckin it. It doesn't matter whether I'm wearing a respirator I bought with my own money, because the house is so fucking mold-ridden it should be condemned, or I'm climbing in through a side window because the front porch is rotted off the place, or I'm stuck at one location for hours because I have to shoot all 15 bedrooms in your gaudy-ass fuckin McMansion, once I'm paid, what I get is what I got. Yet somehow I know more about these properties than the people actually selling them, I'm constantly fielding calls from clients asking me questions about the property, as if they're not the one who's fucking selling it. Shit I once got paid by a realtor to show a property, and finalize a deal with a potential buyer for like $200, meanwhile that realtor made at least $20k in commission on that sale. There's this eccentric rich asshole who bought an entire fucking building downtown, and I'm the only photographer he'll work with when he sells off one unit a year to have some walkin around money. My work has sold over $50 million in properties, and yet I live in poverty. If I could receive literally 2% commission on the final sales I'd be a goddamn millionaire, yet here I am running the math to figure out how many meals I need to skip to afford a concert I want to attend. Shit there was once a woman who, upon showing her the photos I got of the property, said "omg I love the filter you put on these" (easily the biggest insult you can say to a photographer, not to mention these were straight from the camera, zero edit), then she said "you know anyone who's looking to buy?" (mind you this is a multi-million dollar property), so I jokingly said "as soon as they octuple my pay, I'll make an offer". She then looks me dead in the eyes and says "well there's always the lottery".. babe.. honey.. YOU'RE A FUCKING TROPHY WIFE!! YOU WON THE LOTTERY OF LIFE!
Anyway Tl;Dr I'm sick of being the one working my ass off actually selling homes, meanwhile the person who's name is on the "For Sale" sign does 8 hours of work, and gets to take a three month vacation off my labor
