MappyField 365: Leveraging Google Maps for Precision and Efficiency in Dynamics 365 CRM
Tumblr media
The US alone had 24.7 million downloads of Google Maps in 2022. The data clearly shows the popularity and inclination of users toward Google Maps. And its popularity can be seen in the corporate world as well.
Professionals use Google Maps as a CRM mapping solution to locate leads, contacts, accounts, or opportunities and visualize them like never before.
Google Maps in Dynamics 365 can be seen on Dashboards, record forms, while filtering records, to create an optimized route, and more.
Dynamics 365 CRM users find it difficult to find a tool that offers Google Maps integration because most mapping tools use Bing Maps as their default mapping solution.
However, Dynamics 365 map offers both Google Maps and Bing Maps integration for its users to plot locations on maps.
There are three significant ways to use Google Maps as your CRM mapping solution:
1. Geocode CRM records on Google Maps
Tumblr media
Google Maps gives the most accurate latitude and longitude. Thus, while plotting the data on map, you will have the most accurate results.
We also have a detailed blog on how to configure Google Maps in MappyField 365 and how you can geocode locations.
2. View CRM records on Google Maps
Tumblr media
MappyField 365 lets Dynamics CRM users visualize their data by placing entity records on a map. It provides a series of actions that can be performed on plotted records. The actions usually performed on a Dynamics CRM entity record are available from within the map, like add to marketing list, send email, etc.
3. Route Optimization using Google Maps
Tumblr media
The purpose of optimizing routes is to reduce traveling time and distance. What could be a better option than Google Maps? None!
MappyField 365 lets you add routes and navigate directly to Google Maps. If you want to learn how you can do it, we have a detailed blog explaining how to configure it.
If you wish to use Google Maps for geocoding locations, data plotting, or while optimizing routes, MappyField 365 got you covered. Use Google Maps for Dynamics 365 CRM using MappyField. How to Set Navigation App on User Level from Dynamics Mapping Tool
Dynamics CRM has Bing Maps integrated by default. But there are certain limitations when it comes to navigating using Bing Maps inside of Dynamics CRM. To overcome these limitations and achieve more from your Dynamics CRM, you can invest in a Dynamics Mapping tool that allows you to plot records on a map, visualize data with heatmaps, and manage your territories more effectively.
Not only that, but you can also find the shortest paths to cover more clients and meetings in a shorter period of time. And with the right app for navigation, your on-field sales reps can work more effectively.
In this blog, we are going to show you how to set a navigation app like Google Maps, Apple Maps, or Waze on a user level using the Dynamics Mapping tool. Further, we’ve also demonstrated how one can generate navigation links to go about their day.
Tumblr media
For the demonstration purpose, we’ve taken Quick Maps but you can browse around on MS App Source and find a suitable Dynamics 365 map integration.
Step 1: Navigate to Map
If you are using old UI (Classic view):
Find the “AppJetty” tab from the header menu, navigate to Quick Maps and then click on Map.
If you are using Unified view:
You can find the ‘Quick Maps’ App by clicking on the Dynamics 365 option.
Step 2: Select any one(Google/Waze/Apple) from the configuration
- Click on the “Map Configuration Details ” option and select the user (a record) for whom you want to set the Navigation Map.
- You can set navigation maps at an individual level i.e. for one user you can set Google Maps while for another user, you can set Waze Map and so on.
- You can also set the Navigation Map based on the devices i.e. Google Map for Android and Apple Maps iPhones/iPads.
Based on the selection in the user configuration detail for ‘Navigation Via’, the navigation link will be generated from the Quick Maps, and by clicking on it, the user will be redirected to the respective App.
Step 3: Navigate to the Maps page and select the Entity.
- By clicking on the Maps, you will be navigated to the Quick Maps page.
- Select the Entity & its view. You can also select the multiple entities if you want.
The data will be plotted on the Map as per the selection of the Entity(s).
Step 4: Insert the Origin and Destination
After plotting the data on the maps, you can add the locations in two ways:
- Manually: Click on the “Direction” tab. From here, you can insert the starting & ending locations by inserting the address manually in “From” and “To” edit boxes.
- Via pushpins: By clicking on any Pushpin, the details of that records will popup. You can set the directions by selecting the “Add to Origin” option and the final destination by selecting “Add to Destination” respectively.
After selecting origin and destination, both locations automatically gets inserted in the “Directions” tab.
- Now click on the Go button for directions on the map. You will get turn-by-turn directions of inserted locations.
The multiple locations selection option is also provided if you want to cover 2-3 clients in a single day.
Step 5: Generating Navigation Links
- After the route is plotted on the map, click on the navigation icon to get the link of the plotted route.
- If you have selected multiple locations, you will get more than one link.
- This will open “Navigation Links” popup with direction links generated from waypoint A-B, B-C, so on.
- By clicking on the links from the Dynamics Mobile/Tablet App, you will be redirected to the relevant Maps app as per the selection of Navigation Map in Map configuration details.
Therefore, the admin user can select any Navigation Map option from Google Maps, Waze, or Apple Maps. This makes it easier for the reps to access the links and make it on time for appointments and meetings.

Guest Post: How Maplytics uses Bing Maps Truck Routing API for hassle-free delivery(Sociamediaz Digital Marketing)
Looking for info about Guest Post: How Maplytics uses Bing Maps Truck Routing API for hassle-free delivery(Sociamediaz Digital Marketing)
Maplytics is a geo-analytical app Certified for Microsoft Dynamics (CfMD) that seamlessly integrates Bing Maps with Microsoft Dynamics 365 to visualize Dynamics CRM/365 data on a map helping improve business processes and engage the right customers at the right time. Built by Inogic, a leading Independent Software Vendor (ISV) with a portfolio of productivity apps, Maplytics uses Bing Maps services to mine, plot, plan and analyze geographical insights from Dynamics 365 CRM and PowerApps data, powering features from proximity search and route planning to complex territory management and alignment.
Maplytics with Truck Routing
Our April release includes a new feature using the Bing Maps Truck Routing API, which defines routes for trucks by taking into consideration attributes such as size, weight and type of cargo.
Route planning in most apps usually takes into consideration routes available for cars and other vehicles with 4 wheels or fewer. Trucks, on the other hand, usually follow a distinct route because of their structure and the kind of materials they carry. With the recent demand for truck routing for planning routes in organizations that deal with logistics and delivery of heavy or hazardous items transferred through trucks and similar vehicles, Inogic started looking for API solutions to power this capability as part of Maplytics. Incidentally, the Bing Maps Truck Routing API made it to the top of the list as our team analyzed and reviewed the API offerings to design the feature.
"Bing Maps services offer us a great platform to come up with distinct mapping features for our Dynamics 365 CRM audience and deliver them optimized services day in, day out. The various APIs offerings by Bing Maps, with Bing Maps Truck Routing API being one of them, enables our team to develop some of the most astounding features that significantly improve the productivity and efficiency of our customers. We have been able to keep an unwavering trail of clients thanks to the strikingly flexible development model offered by Bing Maps Services," said Roohi Shaikh, CEO of Inogic.
Let's quickly walkthrough a scenario where the truck routing feature comes in handy!
In this example, Contoso Ltd is a firm that transports hazardous materials regularly to its customers across the region. It is important that the delivery truck cover as many delivery points as possible on its route to optimize delivery schedules while reducing delivery costs.
The delivery manager can quickly pull up Maplytics on their D365 CRM/CE environment and fill in the details requested for the truck and quickly get optimized routes to be shared with the truck drivers.
Tumblr media
In the screenshot above, under "Current Location", the delivery manager enters the truck's starting point. To cover as many delivery points in a single route, they perform a quick radius search.
Next the delivery manager provides truck details by choosing the appropriate Asset to get an optimized route specifically for the truck. The asset stores information about the vehicle dimensions like the following:
Number of axles = 5
Dimension Unit = Feet
Weight Unit = lbs
Weight = 40000
Height = 8
Width = 8
Vehicle Length = 44
Hazardous Material = Flammable
This information is critical to generate a route that is appropriate to the vehicle size and kind of material being transported. The delivery manager hits "Search" to get all the locations plotted based on the search conditions provided above. The Travel distance, when enabled, will display the travel distance for the given vehicle.
Tumblr media
Next, they add the required visit locations to the route. With all the information now provided, they hit "Go" to get the optimized truck route for the specified vehicle properties.
Tumblr media
  Bing Maps Truck Routing API
Now let's have a quick look behind the scenes to understand the truck routing API that helped us design the route with little effort. The Bing Maps Truck Routing API considers the following factors for calculating routes for trucks:
Vehicle's height, width, length and weight
Number of axles
Number of trailers
A Boolean value to indicate if the truck is a semi
Maximum gradient
Turn radius
Avoid tolls, highways, crosswinds and grounding risk
Transportation of hazardous materials (explosives, gas, flammable, combustible, flammable solid, organic, poison, radioactive, corrosive, poisonous inhalation and goods harmful to water) or Hazardous permits (if required along the route).
Note: Truck routing is currently available in 80 countries and growing. The list of countries can be found here. The synchronous GET request would be in the following format:
https://dev.virtualearth.net/REST/v1/Routes/Truck?wayPoint.1={wayPpoint1}&viaWaypoint.2={viaWaypoint2}&waypoint.3={waypoint3}&wayPoint.n={waypointN}&heading={heading}&optimize={optimize}&avoid={avoid}&distanceBeforeFirstTurn={distanceBeforeFirstTurn}&routeAttributes={routeAttributes}&dateTime={dateTime}&tolerances={tolerances}&distanceUnit={distanceUnit}&vehicleHeight={vehicleHeight}&vehicleWidth={vehicleWidth}&vehicleLength={vehicleLength}&vehicleWeight={vehicleWeight}&vehicleAxles={vehicleAxles}&vehicleTrailers={vehicleTrailers}&vehicleSemi={vehicleSemi}&vehicleMaxGradient={vehicleMaxGradient}&vehicleMinTurnRadius={vehicleMinTurnRadius}&vehicleAvoidCrossWind={vehicleAvoidCrossWind}&vehicleAvoidGroundingRisk={vehicleAvoidGroundingRisk}&vehicleHazardousMaterials={vehicleHazardousMaterials}&vehicleHazardousPermits={vehicleHazardousPermits}&key={BingMapsKey}
For an asynchronous request, you could send a POST request with the vehicle parameters as a JSON object in the body of the request. More information about the URL parameters can be found in the documentation. Also, the Direction Module of Bing Maps, now supports routemode of Truck to request and display Truck Routes.
What our clients say:
Truck Routing is a robust addition to the list of features Maplytics offers. We have been able to make commitments and deliver them consistently by following optimized routes for trucks.
Most solutions that we looked at that integrate with Dynamics 365 CRM only offer routing for cars, we were looking for an app that would help us draw up routes to be followed by our delivery agents carrying hazardous materials in a 12 axle truck. With this we are now able to keep working in a single application and get our routes sorted.
With quick delivery options by Truck Routing we have been able to deliver orders more readily and have experienced a huge boost in the ROI. Our customer feedback has also improved significantly and we are inching amongst the best in industry.
Apart from truck routing, Maplytics has been able to develop notable features using Bing Maps services like radius search, optimized routing with turn-by-turn navigation and search along the route, Geo-fencing with Check-In/ Check-out capabilities, Appointment Planning, defining and aligning Sales territories with Territory Management, performance analysis of complex data with Heat Maps, Census Data and shape file overlays amongst others.

The 10 Best Landing Page Builder Software Tools
by Mark Spera
Landing page software is an important tool for anyone looking for leads on the internet.
Having the ability to rapidly create custom landing pages with forms, images and funnels is really game-changing.
Landing page software hit the internet around 2011. I became fascinated in 2013, when I began running lots of Google Adwords campaigns.
My super high converting landing pages outperformed my competition and I was able to grow my company on the back of search marketing!
Unsurprisingly, this WordStream study found that the top 10% of landing pages converted 3x-5x higher than average converting pages. That means that by testing just a few versions of one page, you could be making A LOT more money.
Fast forward to today: I use landing page software every day for my clients and for this blog.
I’ve ranked them 1-10, based on:
Ease of use: can I set this up and make a few good looking pages in 20 minutes?
Features: can I collect leads? get analytics on my pages? can I integrate with my CRM?
Price: how much for a monthly plan and will I need to upgrade my plan every few months?
Bells and whistles: is there other cool stuff I don’t even know about?
Instapage is still my champion at the #1, but read on for the low-down on each one of them.
I’ll also tell you which software is best for which size companies.
I’ve personally used the majority of the tools below, but I supplement information gaps in my review with unbiased information  from Capterra’s landing page software page and customer testimonials on G2 Crowd.
The 10 Best Landing Page Builders
1. Instapage
Tumblr media
About: Instapage allows you to create stunning, on-brand, mobile-responsive landing pages from one of 200+ templates. No developer needed.
Instapage is a useful tool for the casual blogger, online small business owner and the powerhouse search agency alike. It makes creating beautiful landing page as simple as “drag and drop.”
It has a 2 minute setup process and an extremely user-friendly, customizable editor, which will undoubtedly garner you more leads, cheaper.
In their own words: “own your post-click experience and maximize your conversion rates with Instapage, the most powerful landing page platform for marketing teams and agencies.”
Plus, integrating your pages into into your website requires no code.

$99/month for the core plan — which should give you everything you need to set up and capture leads in 15 minutes. The Optimizer plan is $99/month and includes A/B Testing and Heatmaps. Agency and Team plans begin at $179/month.
I Think: Instapage is the most functional, user-friendly, high-performing, easiest and most affordable landing page software. It truly requires no code to operate and is perfect for large businesses and mom-and-pop ecommerce shops alike.
Instapage has 150+ Capterra reviews, more than any other landing page builder. It allows you to customize pages fully and it integrates with every software that you might already be using.
You can set up your pages on your own domain URL with the flick of a switch or integrate via a WordPress plugin.
I’ve used Instapage at the company I started, for countless consulting projects and at my new role at healthcare startup, PlushCare, where I lead marketing — we often see conversion rate improvements of 40%+ on our Instapage landing pages.
Plus, I remember what it was like starting out. It’s so intuitive… you’ll be able to make your first page 10 minutes from now.

2. Unbounce
Tumblr media
About: Unbounce is the easiest way to build and test custom landing pages, website popups and sticky bars. Improve your post-click conversion rates and launch more campaigns, fast.
From them, “Unbounce is the easiest way to build and test custom landing pages, website popups and sticky bars. Improve your post-click conversion rates and launch more campaigns, fast.”
Unbounce was quite possibly the first landing page software and still one of the best.
Ease of Use: 5/5
Easy user interface
Easy drag-and-drop editor
Friendly plugins, form creation and page design
Can edit pages to make them mobile-responsive
Features: 5/5
100+ out of the box templates
WordPress integration
Unbounce landing pages and pop-ups may be integrated with the most popular email, CRM and analytics tools, such as MailChimp, WordPress, AWeber etc.
A/B testing
Dynamic keyword insertion for SEM campaigns
Can add sticky headers and popups to pages
Can add maps
Price: 2/5
$79/month for the Essential plan. The Premium plan is $159/month and the Enterprise plans begin at $399+/month. Unbounce is the most expensive of the landing page software options.
I Think: Unbounce and Instapage are admittedly quite similar. You probably can’t go wrong with either, but given that Unbounce is more expensive, I’d recommend Instapage.
Unbounce has 70+ Capterra reviews, the third most of any landing page builder.
Unbounce has a lot of features that large agencies like — particularly search marketing agencies. They have always approached software development for larger businesses — given their search engine marketing features from day one (like dynamic keyword insertion).
I got to like what they’re doing over there. Unbounce makes quality landing page software.
We negotiated a 25% off subscription with Unbounce. Interested? Click here to sign up.
See my full review of Unbounce here.
3. GetResponse
Tumblr media
About: GetResponse allows you to create high-converting, mobile responsive landing pages. Generate interest, leads, and revenue for your business.
Ease of Use: 4/5
Easy set up
Easy to move content around
Publish to your own domain with a few button clicks
Features: 4/5
Built in analytics
Integrates with many platforms including Adwords, Bing, KissMetrics and Facebook
Capture leads with forms and integrate them with your GetResponse email platform
A/B testing
Add PayPal button to take payments on the fly
GetResponse allows you to do a whole host of things including creating landing pages, email marketing and creating webinars
Price: 4/5
$15/month for the Email plan, $49/month for Pro, $165/month for Max and $1,199/month for Enterprise.
I Think: All in all, GetResponse is an all-in-one marketing suite that is well-regarded — landing page software is one of their offerings. They don’t specialize in landing page software.
I have the least experience with GetResponse’s landing page software solution, but I did quite a bit of research. Because GetResponse wants you to use its email software, it lures you in with a $15/month price point, but forces you to upgrade once your landing pages get to 1,000+ pageviews.
At that point, you will need to get the $49/month pro plan.
GetResponse has 80+ Capterra reviews.
GetResponse is a decent option for marketers or business owners that are starting from scratch and need more than landing page software.
4. Hubspot Marketing
Tumblr media
About: HubSpot makes a variety of tools for digital marketers and salespeople. They describe their marketing service as: everything you need to launch effective marketing campaigns that make people interested in your business and happy to be your customer. HubSpot is an enterprise marketing solution that has a low tier solution for creating landing pages.
Ease of Use: 4/5
Start to finish in a few minutes with onboarding videos and written content
Very well-reviewed customer support (4.5/5)
Easy to move content around and get a business live online
Has plugins, form creation and page design
Templates are very simple
Easy to add videos, tracking code, etc.
Features: 4/5
Captures leads with forms in an easy format
A/B testing
Blog & content creation tools
SEO & content strategy
Facebook lead ads
Price: 4/5
$50/month for the cheapest tier that has the landing page builder functionality.
I Think: HubSpot continues to gets significantly more expensive, the more sophisticated you get. They make their money on large clients — that’s who they cater to.
So while the product is well reviewed, I can’t believe it’s as well-serviced and continuously improved than some of the landing page specialist companies higher on the list.
They do have a lot of bells and whistles that make it appealing for more sophisticated marketers. Plus, if you’re a larger company, your business may scale to new features.
But HubSpot is a quality company, so it’s certainly not bad.
5. Landingi
Tumblr media
About: Take advantage of a flexible platform with options dedicated to converting traffic from your digital campaigns into customers.
Landingi is the end-to-end platform for landing pages without IT and coding skills! Create, publish, optimize your landing pages and run a/b tests by yourself!
With our drag and drop editor, you can create a landing page with ease. Select from over 100 high-converting templates, automate your marketing stack using the build in integrations and bring your marketing to the higher level! We will support your campaigns by personalizing your landing pages for your target audience and PPC ads.
Ease of Use: 3/5
Landingi gets great reviews for ease of use, as its a true drag-and-drop pixel-perfect editor
Start to finish in a few minutes
Has plugins, form creation and page design
Templates are very simple
The editor is apparently difficult to use, particularly the mobile editor
Features: 4/5
100+ out of the box templates
Integrations with Salesforce, Mailchimp, Hubspot and many more
Landing page import: this is an awesome feature that Instapage and others had to get rid of (I imagine for copyright infringement issues), but Landingi lets you import other pages from the internet to “clone”
Captures leads and allows you to perform automations using those leads
Price: 4/5
$29/month+, the Automate plan is $49/month and the Agency plan is $109/month.
I Think: Landingi is a strong solution that is white labeled by software website, Capterra. It shares many of the same features as Instapage and is a totally reasonable alternative. Just note, you will likely need higher tier pricing to accomplish a lot of what the others can.
6. Leadpages
Tumblr media
About: Leadpages allows you to easily build stunning opt-in campaigns that capture leads, convert customers, and integrate across all your favorite digital marketing tools: from Facebook ads to e-commerce. Easily fine-tune your campaigns for maximum impact by testing multiple versions side-by-side so you can keep what’s working and ditch what doesn’t.
Ease of Use: 3/5
Easy to move content around: truly drag-and-drop
Has plugins, form creation and page design
Can edit pages to make them mobile-responsive
The user interface is clunky and is objectively outdated looking
Features: 2/5
160+ out of the box templates
Unlimited Mobile-Responsive Pages
Works with 40+ tools
Captures leads with forms in an easy format
A/B testing
Can integrate with WordPress
Cannot easily publish pages to your own URL
There is very little customer support at the lowest pricing tier
Price: 5/5
$25/month for the Standard plan, $48/month Professional plan and $199/month for the Advanced plan.
I Think: I reviewed Leadpages here. I don’t think it’s a bad solution, it’s simply not the best. I thought it was strong at creating forms and is definitely the cheapest option. Plus, it’s easy to use. The problem is the design and editing. You simply can’t get pages to look as you want them to.
The editor is too clunky and the templates aren’t good enough. The product of your work will look like a “Leadpage” not a beautiful, professional landing page.
The other problem is that Leadpages doesn’t make it easy to publish on your own domain — use this solution if you don’t mind posting on leadpages.net domain.
However, it’s certainly an affordable plan for marketers on a budget.
7. LandingLion
Tumblr media
About: Create paid and organic landing pages with the smoothest drag-and-drop builder on the internet.
Ease of Use: 3/5
Create sleek landing pages with tons of templates
Integrates with WordPress
Features: 2/5
Hundreds of templates organized by use case — ebook, coming soon, giveaway, lead capture form, etc.
Integrations with WordPress, Mailchimp, Zapier, AWeber, HubSpot and Sendgrid
SEO optimization tool
Cool visitor playback feature, which allows you to see behavior on your pages
Price: 4/5
$29/month+ but to create more than a few pages you will need more page views, storage and the $99 Growing Plan.
I Think: LandingLion has a decent roster of clients that it boasts about on its homepage, including a few real estate companies. It only has 1 review on Capterra. I cannot give it a buy recommendation today.
8. ucraft
Tumblr media
About: In the simplest terms, ucraft is a website builder that turns your ideas into online realities. ucraft is ideal for anyone looking to develop a beautiful website for themselves or to showcase their projects, business, or events. ucraft provides a proprietary “drag and drop” feature that makes creating online pages fun and easy.
Ease of Use: 4/5
Create a slick website with no code — including landing pages
Completely drag and drop landing page editor as seen in this ucraft explainer video
Easy to move content around and get a business page live (ucraft is a true website creator)
Has form creation and page design
Several simple templates
Features: 1/5
The landing page tool is limited in that it has no integrations
No A/B testing
You will have to host your page on a new website URL
Price: 5/5
$8/month+
I Think: Ucraft is a tool that is tough to wrap my hands around. It appears that ucraft is much more of a website builder than a true landing page builder software. So this is not a sophisticated landing page tool.
However, as a website builder for a stupid simple business page, it’s fine.
Ucraft is quite affordable, so it may be worth a try!
9. ClickFunnels
Tumblr media
About: Clickfunnels allows you to pick the sales funnel that is designed to sell your type of product, so you can send traffic to the offer.
Clickfunnels allows you to sell any product online. You simply pick your sales funnel, pick your design and upload a few custom elements like a logo. Modify the page with a few drag and drop tools and your entire funnel is ready to roll.
Ease of Use: 3/5
ClickFunnels is the easiest to use if you are an internet novice (which is no problem btw)
Start to finish in a few minutes with onboarding videos
Easy to move content around and get a business live online
Has plugins, form creation and page design
Templates are very simple
Easy to add videos, tracking code, etc.
Features: 1/5
Several out of the box “ClickFunnels” (templates)
Captures leads with forms in an easy format
Price: 5/5
$97/month+
I Think: ClickFunnels is simple as can be. It’s a “website-in-a-box” solution that makes it stupid easy to make a site. They will take you from nothing to a business online in a few minutes.
The problem is that the customization is really limited. Your entire web presence will look like a ClickFunnels… which is a little hokey looking.
If you already have a blog or website, don’t use ClickFunnels. If you’re starting from scratch and you’re an internet novice, go for it!
Clickfunnels is a great program, I just wouldn’t consider it “landing page software.”
ClickFunnels has 30+ Capterra reviews.
See my full ClickFunnels review here
10. ShortStack
Tumblr media
About: ShortStack is a cool landing page tool with a twist. It’s not conventional — in that it is specialized to host content and/or events on. You’re able to create landing pages to host contests using Instagram Contests, Facebook Contests, Twitter Contests, etc. It also has some automation features.
This is an example use case from the website:
An Instagram contest is an easy way to capitalize on user-generated content (UGC). Instagram contests require minimal effort from participants, which is one reason they’re so popular. To host an Instagram contest using this template, just ask people to post a photo to Instagram, include your unique hashtag in the caption, and fill out a simple form.
Ease of Use: 5/5
Gets strong marks for user friendliness on Capterra (3 reviews) and G2 crowd (45 reviews)
Features: 1/5
Templates include contests, giveaways, quizzes an email collection giveaways, but limited to that
Collect user-generated content
Can automate emails to lead captures on page
Price: 4/5
$29/month+
I Think: It has high reviews on Capterra and G2 Crowd. If your goal is to make a contest and plop it on a landing page, by all means, this is for you.
Conclusion
Every tool on this list I consider to be a fully drag-and-drop solution. We all love landing page software because it allows us marketers and founders to avoid code.
There are a few landing page builders I like for small businesses and large companies alike — Instapage, Unbounce, GetResponse and HubSpot.
Of course, there’s only one landing page tool this nerd endorses…

Giving CISOs assurance in the cloud
This post is authored by Mark McIntyre, Chief Security Advisor, Enterprise Cybersecurity Group.
Recently, I hosted a Chief Information Security Officer roundtable in Washington, DC. Executives from several US government agencies and systems integrators attended to share cloud security concerns and challenges, such as balancing collaboration and productivity against data protection needs, cyber threat detection, and compliance. Toward the end of the day, one CISO reminded me he needed assurance. He asked, “How can we trust Microsoft to protect our data? And, how can I believe what you say?”
This post provides an opportunity to share important updates and assurances about practices and resources that Microsoft uses to protect data and user privacy in the Cloud. It also offers information on resources available to CISOs and others, that demonstrate our continuing investments in transparency.
Security at scale
Increasingly, government officials as well as industry analysts and executives are recognizing and evangelizing the security benefits of moving to hyper-scale cloud service providers.  Microsoft works at this scale, investing $15B in the public cloud.  The internet user maps below provide useful insight into why and where we are making these investments. Figure 1 represents internet usage in 2015. The size of the boxes reflect numbers of users.  The colors indicate the percentage of people with access to the internet.
Figure 1, source “Cyberspace 2025: Today’s Decisions, Tomorrow’s Terrain”
Now look at Figure 2, showing expected internet usage in 2025.  As you can see, global internet use and accompanying economic activity will continue to grow.
Figure 2
In addition to serving millions of people around the world, we are also moving Microsoft’s 100,000+ employees and our corporate infrastructure and data to the Cloud. We must therefore be confident that we can protect our resources as well as our users’.
How do we do it?  Microsoft invests over $1B per year in cybersecurity and data protection.  We start by ensuring that the software powering our data centers is designed, built and maintained as securely as possible. This video illustrates the world-class security Microsoft applies to data center protection.  We also continue to improve on years of development investments in the Security Development Lifecycle (SDL), to ensure that security is addressed at the very beginning stages of any product or service.  In the Cloud, the Operational Security Assurance framework capitalizes on the SDL and on Microsoft’s deep insights into the cybersecurity threat landscape.
One way that Microsoft detects cybersecurity activity in our data centers is the Intelligent Security Graph. Microsoft has incredible breadth and depth of signal and information we analyze from 450B authentications per month across our cloud services, 400B emails scanned for spam and malware, over a billion enterprise and consumer devices updated monthly, and 18B+ Bing scans per month. This intelligence, enhanced by rich expertise of Microsoft’s world class talent of security researchers, analysts, hunters, and engineers, is built into our products and our platform – enabling customers, and Microsoft, to detect and respond to threats more quickly. (Figures 3 & 4).  Microsoft security teams use the graph to correlate large-scale critical security events, using innovative cloud-first machine learning and behavior and anomaly-based search queries, to surface actionable intelligence.  The graph enables teams to collaborate internally and apply preventive measures or mitigations in near real-time to counter cyber threats.  This supports protection for users around the world, and assures CISOs that Microsoft has the breadth and scale to monitor and protect users’ identities, devices, apps and data, and infrastructure.
Figure 3
Figure 4
Access to data
Technology is critical for advancing security at hyper-scale, therefore Microsoft continues to evolve the ways in which administrators access corporate assets.  The role of network administrators is significant. In our cloud services, we employ Just Enough and Just Enough Administration access, under which admins are provided the bare minimum window of time and physical and logical access to carry out a validated task.  No admin may create or approve their own ticket, either. Further, Windows Server 2016 clients can implement these policies internally. Security and managing data centers at scale is an ever evolving process based on the needs of our customers, the changing threat landscape, regulatory environments and more.
Compliance
Microsoft works with auditors and regulators around the world to ensure that we operate data centers at the highest levels of security and operational excellence.  We maintain the largest compliance portfolio in the industry, for example against the ISO 22301 privacy standard. In addition, Microsoft maintains certifications such as CSA STAR Certification, HITRUST, FACT and CDSA which many of our cloud competitors do not.  For more about Microsoft certifications, visit the Microsoft Trust Center Compliance page.
Transparency
Being compliant with local, industry, and international standards establishes that Microsoft is trustworthy, but our goal is to be trusted.  Toward that end—and to ensure we address the needs of CISOs, Microsoft provides a wealth of information about cloud services, designed to provide direct and customer self-service opportunities to answer three key questions:
How is may data secured and protected?
How does Microsoft Cloud help me be compliant with my regulatory needs?
How does Microsoft manage privacy around my data?
The comments at our roundtable that prompted this blog show that our cloud security and compliance resources can be difficult to find, so while we double down on our efforts to raise awareness, bookmark this update and read below.  We operate the following portals, designed to facilitate self-service access to security and compliance information, FAQs and white papers, in convenient formats, and tailored to an organization’s geography, industry and subscription(s):
The Microsoft Trust Center, a centralized resource for enterprise customers to find answers about what Microsoft is doing to protect data, comply with regulatory requirements, and verify that we are doing what we say.
The Service Trust Portal (STP) is available for organizations under nondisclosure to current and potential Microsoft customers. It includes hundreds of important third-party audit reports, information on certifications, and internal security documents, for Azure, O365, Dynamics CRM Online, and Yammer. Examples include SOC and ISO audits reports.
The Service Assurance Portal, available to current O365 users, offers the same level of access but directly through the O365 subscription. This is a unique “transparency window” to provide customers with in-depth understanding in how we implement and test controls to manage confidentiality, integrity, availability, reliability, and privacy around customer data. Not only do we share the “what” about controls, but also the “how” about testing and implementation.
Government Security Program
Microsoft also participates in the Government Security Program as another key transparency initiative. Through the GSP, national governments (including regulators) may access deep architecture details about our products and services, up to and including source code. The GSP also provides participants with opportunities to visit Microsoft headquarters in Redmond to meet face to face with the teams that operate, monitor, and defend our company and products and services—including data centers—from cyber threats. They can also visit any of our Transparency Centers in Redmond, Brussels, Brasilia, and Singapore. Several dozen governments around the world use the GSP to obtain greater insight into how Microsoft builds, operates and defends its data centers, and by extension, how we protect users.
Microsoft stands ready to work with CISOs to raise awareness and ensure access to the resources discussed above. Visit the following sites to learn more. Microsoft has also created a dedicated team of cybersecurity professionals to help move you securely to the Cloud and protect your data.
