Yamaha’s All-Electric Motocross Bike: Patent Filed. Check Features
Tumblr media
Yamaha, a revered name in the motorcycle industry, is making waves in the electric vehicle sector with its latest venture into electric motocross. The company's recent patent filings unveil an innovative approach, drawing inspiration from their successful TY-E trials e-bike and promising enhanced throttle response for dirt racing enthusiasts.
Building on the Performance Insights from the TY-E Trials E-Bike, Yamaha's research and development teams have discovered the advantages of integrating a flywheel and traditional clutch into electric bikes. These additions have notably improved performance, particularly in terms of slow-speed manoeuvres and instant acceleration during race starts, essential in motocross competitions.
One of the patented innovations that Yamaha is introducing is the innovative Torsion Damper, strategically integrated with the gearbox. Unlike its TY-E trials counterpart, this adjustment specifically targets optimizing throttle response, a critical aspect in the dynamics of dirt bike racing. The leaked patent images focus primarily on the propulsion system, keeping the details of the battery pack under wraps for now.
Throttle response plays a pivotal role in racing dynamics, particularly in motocross, where rapid and precise acceleration variations are frequent. Yamaha's inclusion of a torsion damper in the gearbox is aimed at ensuring riders have smooth and responsive throttle control, empowering them with precise command over acceleration on diverse terrains.
Although Yamaha has not yet disclosed a launch date for its electric motocross bike, the company's commitment to innovation and performance is evident in its focus on refining the propulsion system. Enthusiasts eagerly await the anticipated prototype showcase in the upcoming months, anticipating a groundbreaking addition to Yamaha's electric bike lineup. With these patented innovations and insights from trials e-bikes, Yamaha's foray into electric motocross is poised to set new standards in the world of dirt racing.

The year is 2018. There are no wars. There is no crime. There is only ... the Game. In a world where ruthless corporations reign supreme, this vicious and barbaric "sport" is the only outlet for the pent-up anger and frustrations of the masses.
Tuned to their televisions, the people watch "Rollerball": a brutal mutation of football, motocross, and hockey. Jonathan E. (James Caan) is the champion player – a man too talented for his own good. The Corporation has taken away the woman, Ella (Maud Adams) Jonathan loves but they can't take away his soul – even if the diabolical corporate head (John Houseman) tells him he better retire ... or suffer the old-fashioned way.

We have an idea that we're going to start some sort of Frankenstein Competition in it will be to find a motorcycle that is a new design there are a couple that are pretty high up there on the list as pretty potential winners and the two came up with it this morning and I approved this idea. These electric motorcycles and dirt bikes do not do well against emitters they suck very badly and they end up going nowhere the Chinese motors are bigger you can get a 350CC and when you put it into an electric motorcycle the motorcycle weighs only a total of about £400 because you're taking all that weight off and when you put that motor in it still weighs 400 pounds that's after and a 150 pound person will go a 180 miles an hour these electric bikes are designed they're sturdy they're st bikes they're sleek and decent looking and the bike looks very normal. Another idea is to convert the electric dirt bikes and even the pedal bike dirt bike that looks like the motocross can be converted to street use with a motor and we're talking about Chinese motors in like 300CC for those and you would end up going with the enduro tire lots of times they have it on it and you just change the brake disks and put signals on and a couple other things doesn't take much and those things go 120 miles an hour with the 300CC no they go ridiculous speeds 250 miles an hour those are very very light they're like 115 lbs without the batteries and the motor and you're adding only 80 pounds so it's under 200 pounds they're extremely vast and he's thinking of making a motorcycle company that makes these and he wants it to be the recycled Motors company because it is an outstanding idea and it really is they take the motors and you boil them down and they become high performance motors in the metal you boil down and you can use for the frame by adding the old motors from things and it's kind of a hotspot but it boy does it work well and then you'll get motors from China at first and continue it after a point they won't be able to meet production and they'll have to do it over there for their company but really this is A is a really really nice idea I had an idea for the cruiser it's kind of the same thing they make a cruiser that's electric and it's very light there's one that's a zero and the bike without the batteries was around £380 it's only about 30 pounds heavier than the sport bike but it's decent looking and it is a cruiser and you would take that and put a motor in only problem is they didn't make many of those they don't make many cruisers that are electric at all they make E bikes that are cruisers. So I went back to the drawing board and I said these

BOTR - Day 1 - June 15, 2024
Easy driving day for a sunny Saturday. We stopped a few times along the way so our travel time was extended. Regardless, it was stress free.
Seeing the Appalachians is always a highlight! The 6-mile climb up through Pisgah Forest on I-40 always reminds me that we have real mountains in NC.
We detoured off I-40 into the hills towards Max Patch to avoid construction delays. We had no idea if this was a timesaver or not. Regardless, it alerted us to the fact that the best views are off the interstate!
Well beyond Asheville as you get closer to TN, I-40 winds along the Pigeon River and the mountains shoot straight up, letting you know just how rugged they are. Things flatten out a little in TN. A quick look in the rear view mirror reminds us of why we are drawn back home.
In TN, we stopped at a Buc-ee’s for the first time. I had no idea how big these places were. It was a Walmart-sized gas station with everything from bbq brisket (quite delicious) to tee shirts. You needed to be a running back to get through the crowds. Fortunately, it was so big that you didn’t have to wait in line at the restrooms.
Tumblr media
The Walmart of gas stations.
Next stop, Food City for groceries. Then on to our accommodations for the night, Cumberland Mountain State Park. We reserved a level spot among tow-behind RVs and campers in tents. The sun was still high in the sky so we situated ourselves to have maximum shade under our awning and sat back to enjoy a few beers. The chirping birds were our entertainment.
Tumblr media
Nice spot. Parked head in to maximize shade.
For a campgrounds that was full to capacity and had lots of kids on bikes, it relatively quiet. We walked a little to work off our dinner. A few groups of campers sat around fires. We were in bed reading by 9:30 and asleep shortly after.
Tumblr media
We have plenty of bikes too!
On our first day out, I think we’ve identified a trend to monitor going forward. E-bikes are all the rage. Entire families rolled as packs through camp. One 8-ish year old girl zipped through the woods like a motocross racer, revving her motor to make it whine as she shot up hills. In my mind, the jury is still out on whether this is a good trend or bad.
Tumblr media
Safe travel to all!

Segway Xyber E-Bike

crashposting hours okie dokie
- crash is from a sports family, but not wrasslin specifically. Dad is a nascar driver, Mom is a downhill skiier, younger sister is an olympic-level archer, and Crash is former motocross & fucking. E-sports. Crash did fucking OWL b4 pivoting into wrestling. You can understand why crash stopped doing OWL lmaoo
- crash was a tank main while playing for the OWL. mostly played Rein/D.Va/Sigma
- like. Crash already dropped OWL when he went to college for graphic design (his true passion) but then OWL went to shit while he was in college and he just. Never went back. He did keep up his motocross stuff bc he’d go dirt biking to unwind after classes
- Motocross was also very much a hobby for Crash. Yeah he races competitively bc he was granted the opportunity, and he loves it, but it’s not something he ever fully intended to commit to for the rest of his life.
- he realizes the irony of being nicknamed Crash while being in a racing based sport. The nickname actually comes from his Dad, who dubbed him Crash after a shit ton of childhood wipeouts while snowboarding/sledding/biking etc
- he raced under his actual name at first, but “Crash” got picked up by the fans after his dad was a special guest on commentary one race and referred to him as it. Yes, Crash crashed on this race. Yes, his dad roasted him for it. But his dad also praised him for getting right back up and on the bike and helping the guy who crashed with him onto his own.
- “#crash always gets back up” comes from that race specifically
- crash steps away from motocross after a big win right before the pandemic. It was specifically bc he’d just graduated college and wanted to start working in his studied field
- motocross for crash never really was about winning. He raced for the love of goin fast. Started young with watching his dad drive and then with building go karts with his cousins and then eventually racing dirt bikes with his classmates
- crash ended up getting into graphic design for wrasslin promos specifically bc his sister got really into wrasslin and then got him into it
- crash ended up gettin into wrasslin bc wrasslers in the company kept fucking with his computers during their YouTube bullshit segments and he needed to knock some sense into them
- idk how much of crash’s previous motocross experience id like to incorporate into his wrassler persona but I’d definitely put nods to it into his design

Can-Am E-Motorcycles Could Worry Harley-Davidson And Kawasaki
Canadian automaker Can-Am is well-popular for its exemplary side-by-side vehicles and ATVs. But did you know the company first started off with two-wheelers? Yes, that’s right; Can-Am specialized in motocross/enduro bikes at first and even beat popular names to take home a few trophies. 50-odd years later, the company is attempting to replicate the same success, albeit in the EV segment. Bike Types – Beginner’s Guide | What Type of Bicycle Should I Buy?
Choosing the right type of bicycle depends on your specific needs, preferences, and the type of riding you plan to do. Here's a beginner's guide to different types of bicycles to help you make an informed decision:
Road Bikes: Designed for speed and efficiency on paved roads. They have lightweight frames, narrow tires, and drop handlebars. Road bikes are ideal for long-distance rides, racing, and fitness training on smooth surfaces.
Mountain Bikes: Built for off-road trails and rugged terrain. They feature wide, knobby tires, robust frames, and suspension systems. Mountain bikes are suitable for trail riding, mountain biking, and handling uneven surfaces, such as dirt, rocks, and roots.
Hybrid Bikes: Versatile bikes that combine features of road bikes and mountain bikes. They have a more relaxed riding position, wider tires than road bikes, and often come with a suspension fork. Hybrid bikes are suitable for commuting, recreational rides, and light off-road trails.
City/Urban Bikes: Designed for commuting and city riding. They typically have a more upright riding position, wider tires for comfort and stability, and features like fenders, racks, and lights for practicality and convenience.
Cyclocross Bikes: Similar to road bikes but with more durable frames and wider tire clearance. Cyclocross bikes are designed for off-road racing in cyclocross events, featuring a mix of pavement, gravel, and mud.
Folding Bikes: Compact and portable bikes that can be folded for easy storage and transport. They are popular among commuters and people with limited storage space.
Electric Bikes (E-bikes): Equipped with an electric motor to provide assistance while pedaling. E-bikes come in various styles, including road, mountain, hybrid, and city bikes. They are suitable for riders who want assistance with longer commutes or extra assistance on hills.
Touring Bikes: Designed for long-distance touring and carrying heavy loads. Touring bikes have a strong frame, relaxed geometry, and multiple mounting points for racks and panniers.
Gravel Bikes: Versatile bikes designed for riding on both paved roads and gravel or dirt paths. They have wider tires, endurance-focused geometry, and often come with additional clearance for mud and debris.
BMX Bikes: Sturdy bikes used for BMX (Bicycle Motocross) racing, freestyle tricks, and jumps. BMX bikes have smaller frames, single-speed drivetrains, and compact handlebars.
When choosing a bicycle, consider factors like your intended use, terrain, riding style, comfort, and budget. It's also advisable to visit a local bike shop, where experts can provide personalized advice and help you find the right bike based on your specific requirements.

TVS XL 100 Trademarks Hint at Exciting Future in 2-Wheelers in India!
Tumblr media
TVS, a prominent name in the Indian two-wheeler industry, is taking a significant step towards embracing electric mobility with its iconic XL 100 moped. The company's recent trademark filings for two distinct names suggest that an electric variant of the TVS XL 100 might soon hit the market, potentially reshaping the landscape of affordable electric vehicles.
Currently, the TVS XL 100 holds a unique position as the only petrol-powered moped available for purchase in India. Its pricing, ranging from Rs 44,999 to Rs 59,695 (ex-showroom, Delhi), has contributed to its popularity and market dominance. However, with the increasing focus on sustainability and the shift towards electric vehicles, TVS is exploring new avenues to cater to evolving consumer preferences.
The significance of these trademark filings cannot be overstated. TVS, known for its reliability and established brand image, is leveraging the success of its XL 100 model to make a mark in the electric vehicle segment. By introducing an electric variant of the XL 100, TVS aims to tap into the growing market for electric mopeds in India.
It's important to note that while the project is in its early stages, TVS has a track record of successful electric vehicle launches, as seen with its iQube range. This cautious yet strategic approach reflects the company's commitment to delivering quality products that meet customer expectations.
In the Indian market, where the adoption of electric vehicles is on the rise, TVS' move to electrify the XL 100 aligns with industry trends. With competitors like Kinetic E Luna already in the electric moped segment, TVS has an opportunity to not only compete but also redefine the market by offering consumers a reliable and affordable electric alternative within the well-loved XL 100 model.
As TVS continues to navigate the dynamic landscape of electric mobility, consumers can look forward to a potential game-changer in the form of an electric XL 100 moped, combining the best of TVS' legacy with the sustainability of electric technology
