It was a blast working on this new slipcover/limited edition poster for The Last Voyage of the Demeter collector’s edition UHD/Blu-ray for Scream Factory/Shout! Studios. Love love love having the chance to paint some official spooky in traditional watercolor. Many thanks to AD Mindy Kang for the trust in my style and process and for being a dream to work with!

Finally finished building the second shelf I bought like two years ago. Still not an ideal setup—you sort of give up on proper organizing after so long—but at least all the blus are off the floor for the time being. Had a lot more VinSyn releases than I realized.
First case is Second Sight and VinSyn/Partner Labels, with some select oversized LEs up top (and yes, ended up putting the XXX releases just front and center, out in the open):

Then there’s my Shout/Scream Factory, with Vestron, Eureka, and Indicator (plus the Phantasm Collection and Arrow’s Chucky Collection since most of the other classic slasher franchises were already over here)

And finally, Arrow and assorted other boutique releases (88 Films, Blue Underground, Scorpion/Code Red, Severin, Synapse), and digibooks.

New to the collection! I told y’all I have a few exceptions to my 4K rule and this is one of them. I already have several different copies of Killer Klowns from Outer Space (actually all of them) and I had to have this epic release to add to it all. And there’s more cool stuff on the way!
Thanks for always being awesome and super cool scream factory! Y’all are still my favorites even though I’m out of the game now. Hope everybody has a great weekend!

'Trouble in Mind' Celebrates Its Anniversary Screening at New Beverly Cinema
http://www.allwallpapersfree.org WRITER’S NOTE: This article was written in 2010, back when this anniversary screening took place. Alan Rudolph’s 1985 neo-noir movie “Trouble in Mind” reached its 25th anniversary in 2010. This is especially significant because it got lost by its distributors about twenty years ago, and they only recently found a print of it. The movie has since been restored…

My spooky physical media picks for October 2024. Blu-ray and DVD only. No VHS this year because I don’t have a VCR hooked up yet. I’m still making my way through these, but Home Grown Horrors from Vinegar Syndrome & Terrorvision from Scream Factory are the two winners so far.

Land of the Dead 4K UHD Review: Big City Zombies
Scream Factory upgraded George Romero’s big studio Land of the Dead to 4K UHD even before his landmark ‘70s and ‘80s sequels. Night of the Living Dead is of course on Criterion Collection 4K UHD, and there’s still Land and Survival out there. This nearly 20-year-old film is still a contemporary studio movie and looks as professional as one would expect. The most contrast you’ll see is in the…

I have time to watch a movie this morning so I thought I’d revisit Fear No Evil. This 1981 horror obscurity is a mix of teen horror and religious horror. It’s a really good movie! If you like The Omen then you’ll dig this one!
The story follows two archangels who battle it out with Lucifer who takes possession of several people as the movie plays out. There’s also some teenage bullying going on and the victim happens to be the antichrist. Yikes!
