We have finally finished this project, and thus, The World's Worst Dating Sim is finally DONE! Just in time for April Fools Day. Now, with our six new contestants, choose, uhh... who's dateable? Or not dateable? This last batch was determined almost entirely by People Telling Us Who To Add, contains multiple AUs, and is... hmm. "Unconventional" may be a good term? Half of these are probably undateable but you can still shoot your shot.

As previously, it can be a platonic date if you want, you just can't be neutral. Deadlander Lambda belongs to @cordycepsbian and has been moved into our studio for duration of this poll. Profiles below the cut.

A charming mystery from somewhere only described as "a faraway land", though he wasn't quite scheduled in this lineup, we think we can make an exception. This silver-tongued bug seems to be able to say just what's needed to get under your skin... and from the look of it, he's angling to take you somewhere private.

...come to think of it, haven't we seen that face before? On a poster, maybe? Well, it's not a surprise he's been modelling for things, he's certainly got a pretty enough face for it, but why do we feel... nervous, all of a sudden?

A time writing was really hard: does every time count? Let's see when I was trying to connect the dots but they didn't connect. Lowkey the idea was abandoned but I started writing a riddick/bw crossover AND au (with depthcharge and rampage). I got pretty far in writing and planning where I was gonna go but it just didn't work out grrrrrr!! 

A scene I wrote that surprised me: uhh N/A? 

Favorite excerpt: its not done yetttttt, but i was playing around with a boondocks tfp crossover. And Riley started doing a stupid ass monologue about how these robot niggas gay. The humor appeals only to me but i dont careeeee. Once i finish it and if i get brave enough i'll post it. For funnnnn. 

How did I grow as a writer: i have no idea tbh i took a break from writing this (last) year

Who was my greatest positive influence: the friends we made along the way ^^

Anything Irl that showed up in my work: I mean the shows/movies I watch that inspire me at the moment or inspire the story itself. So do random conversations with people, but other than that no?

Work I'm least proud of: A Crack in a Kaleidoscope of War I would have wanted more time to iron out and work around some of its awkward writing, but I was pressed for time. I now refuse to look at it most of the time.

Favorite review: This one commenter has been diligently commenting on every new chapter of a fic I've been updating sparsely, and they are the sole reason I'm continuing this fic in the first place. If you think you're that person, thank you.

A time writing was really hard: Writing Crack in War Kaleidoscope was really hard as I had a time limit. I'm god's slowest writer, so I really had to work under pressure there.

A scene I wrote that surprised me: The entirety of Electrical Hazard. Every day I push the limits of what insanely stupid premises I will write and get away with.

How did I grow as a writer: Lots of ways! I worked under pressure, wrote characters I was unfamiliar with, betad for someone, collaborated with someone else, and expanded a fic into my longest-running one.

Who was my greatest positive influence: There's an irl friend that's been making me excited to write more. And of course, that one commenter keeping my will to work on a fic alive.

Anything Irl that showed up in my work: Not this year but last year a fic I wrote was hinged on a scene similar to something I experienced in a college cafeteria.

I posted about this once before but Svern gives things to people he likes. Not necessarily for occasions (I'm inclined to say he might not do that too often actually although he won't forget, he will say something, he just might not give a gift) he just gives random stuff at random times. Could be a trinket he picked up or something he stole or something he actually bought, doesn't matter. He'll just show up from nowhere and hand it to you

okay this post has been in my head for a few days thanks to people's additions in tags and enthusiasm so i wanna say a feeeew more things!

everyone saying "ough isn't a typo it's just a sound" first of all words are sounds, second of all it's ACTUALLY the most interesting typo on that list bc it's two steps removed from its original word/sound. oh -> ouh -> ough. like u can literally see the anguish growing on this word as we go from oh. to ough.... (<- literally full of despair) (edit: others have said its also a misspelling of ugh which makes sense too! either way it is a typo not "just a sound")

also! soooo many people have said they integrate these kinds of words into their ACTUAL speech like out loud talking to people and i think that's so funny (bc i do to) but also really really interesting bc it's like.... not a typo at all anymore, we're just choosing to say the word all wrong like that!!

like u can type "woag" and people can plausibly say maybe it's a typo, but then u see some cool shit and u say WOAG out loud? we're just using it as an actual word now!

people have also been saying why they like using these typoed versions instead and its always something about the typos adding more layers of emotion to a word. like wanting to sound so dumbfounded u can't say what? so u hastily type out wgat? or being so amazed u can't just say woah. or being so full from despair mm yum u HAVE to say ough.

it's literally a whole different avenue of expressing emotion that comes from changing a letter or flipping some around rather than using the actual words were trying to say or using any words to describe the emotions themselves. and personally, i fuckign LVOE that for us!!!!!

i love when people use slight seemingly typoed versions of words as new words in themselves to evoke completely different feelings. i love yeag i love woag i love ouppy i love fuckign and switching -ing's to -ign's. i use them Often and their usage could not be replaced by the actual words im trying to say
