Mini-review:

There is nothing I can manage to put into words that will give reason for why I believe Disco Elysium is not only a masterpiece, but one of the all-time great videogame experiences. As with the rotting corpse hanging from a tree like a specter, untouchable, and immovable, the only way to detach the gruesome figure is to allow yourself to be immersed within its nihilistic world.

Full of moments of hilarity, gut wrenching sadness, a little horror and ironically (for a game immersing the player in an almost point and click style literature driven story) pulse quickening decision making, your detectives role within the universe is entirely yours to mold and manipulate. Lovesick with inability to define why and forced to parade around a world like a wounded animal untrusting yet vulnerable to the beckoning call of eternal peace versus a chance at "One Day” I will return to your side, a struggle in the futility of masochism and knowing the unknowable. There can be a light at the end of your tunnel, but only after you confront the demon. 5/5 A+ MADsterpiece of profound psychological and socioeconomic magnitude.

assuming Ari has read a lot of the books in Elisium, would she ever write new books to put in? And if so what would she write about?

as much as i would love for her to since i'm a writer, i don't think she ever had time to write prior to her epilogue! but i think it'd be fun as hell if once elysium is stable and she has more time to take breaks with caspian around, she might try her hand at writing a few silly stories for the allays :)

Literally it's so easy for me to believe that Disco Elisium is an amazing game despite the fact that I haven't gotten to it yet. You could remove literally everything i have learned about the game through cultural osmosis and still just one or two facts about it would still put it on my bucket list of things to do before dying.

It is a detective game and the amnesiac protagonist is named Dubious.

Perfect. No notes. That should be enough for anyone to raelize that the game is at least good.

I'm on the third mechs album and Iphis just solidifield to me that everytime a couple appears in this show they are going to have a tragic end somehow (and yes I'm still bitter over Red Rose and Cinders [Elisium made me cry and is just beatifull so Penelope and Odisseus can have their tragedy]).

If you wanna know the repercussion of your fem disco elisium art i saw a post where op said the only disci elisium gender bend they liked is one where harry had makeup that had been slept and cried on and reapplied instead of cleaned up and started over and im p sure they meant yours

i'm quite certain other artists draw fem!harry with the same horrid makeup routine pftt <33 but very flattered if that was the case! 🥺
