Lady Hatt: Good night Gordon, sweet dreams.

Lady Hatt kissed the baby engine's forehead before heading out, she made sure to turn on the night light before leaving.

Baby Gordon rested his eyes for a bit, waiting until he was sure no one was heading to his nursery before focusing his attention to Dory.

Baby Gordon looked nervous, glancing around the room just to be sure no one was there. He took a deep breath in before confessing his secret to the stuffed animal.

Being a big engine was stressful since the moment he came to be it was like that, especially before Gordon arrived on Sodor. Bad mentors that always criticized him, the smaller engines not wanting to be his friend because the other big engines had scared them, being locked away in a shed for days when one of his mentors saw him shunting. All those experiences coming home to roost when the big engine came to Sodor. In turn his pride prevented Gordon from telling the truth as he tried to push the small engines away from him, he refused to shunt his own trains in fear he would be locked away again, and grew jealous of Thomas and the others when he saw how kind and patient Edward was with them, his rage pouring out into hurtful comments towards the old reliable engine. Then there was James, that engine had looked up to the bigger engines and big Gordon had been a bad influence on him. Since then James had been acting as pompous as Gordon, the former express engine didn't want that.

His relationship with Bertram Hatt wasn't always the best, but being a baby Sir Topham Hatt was more patient and understanding, it reminded Gordon of the days of Bertram's father Sir Charles Topham Hatt. He was the closest person Gordon had to an actual dad.

Gordon wondered if all this time if had been meant to be a smaller engine, if him being a baby was just better for not only himself but all of Sodor. He looked into Dory's eyes.

how do you make your animatics :O? !

EXCELLENT QUESTION !! It changes constantly ! For Nightmare and Every Breath You Take, I used Procreate to draw the frames and Procreate Dreams to edit them ! For EBYT I used Audacity to trim the second verse and add the stream snippets :)

For Done For, I drew the frames on CSP on my ipad, uploaded them to my computer, and put them together in DaVinci Resolve. For the current wip, Psychosis, I’m doing something smarter and using CSP on my PC so I can skip a step and download/upload much easier.

The actual workflow ALSO changes depending on each one !! This is how each of them looked:

Nightmare: Draw the frames roughly one by one, upload into program finished in 8 hours

Every Breath You Take: Draw the polished frames one by one. Get tired. Draw the roughs in one swoop. Upload into program Finished in roughly 3 weeks.

Done For (still in wip purgatory): Draw each layer refined, upload into program with blocking. Still not done, what I uploaded I finished in about 3 days.

Psychosis: Full pass of roughs to plan composition, framing, blocking. Work back through section by section. Been working on it for a week so far and I’m almost half-way done :)

I do not recommend rawdogging your animatics because by the end of EBYT i was exhausted but i was also submitting it for uni work so that might be why 💀 take your time have fun and remember it doesnt have to be perfect and polished especially while you’re learning the basics !!

Ahh well I suppose everything had its ups and downs, music included. It's a shame EBYT reminds you of an abuser :( I am very sorry to hear that<3 though on the bright side it makes you think of your darling, as you mentioned !!

Ahh I'd say Lofi girl is a good spot to start, It's constantly streaming lofi tracks and its just nice to throw on in the background when you're working!! As for scene I really like Millionaires, they are quite high energy and the vocals just sound so cool !! Suicide silence is good too!! Though I don't listen to them often I do enjoy their work when it pops up!

I listened to the artists you mentioned. I specifically listened to Take Your Shirt Off by Millionaires and You Only Live Once by Suicide Silence. I enjoyed the energy of Take Your Shirt Off. I found it fun. I also liked how raunchy the vocals were for You Only Live Once.
