Baby Gordon loves traveling with Edward. The older monster engine is very patient as the baby monster engine rapidly fires questions to Edward.

One in particular caught Edward's interest.

"Why hill named afta me"?

Edward tells Gordon the story of how a fussy big engine didn't want to pull a goods train. The grumpy big engine ended up getting stuck on the hill and needed help and said big engine's name was Gordon.

The baby monster engine doesn't connect that the Gordon in Edward's story was him, instead he tells Edward the big engine was silly. Edward agrees and the two continue on home.

When they return, Gordon hops off Edward to go play and tell the others about his day with Edward. Sir Topham Hatt soon arrives and Edward shares the concerning news.

"He doesn't remember why Gordon's Hill was named after him sir, I fear that if this continues we might not be able to get the old Gordon back."

Sir Topham Hatt was in deep serious thought.

"I see, thank you for telling me Edward. I keep hoping that there is some shred of our Gordon in there, but with the recent reports, it looks like I have some serious decisions to make."

"Like what Sir"?

Sir Topham Hatt gave Edward a sympathetic look.

"As the Ramsfields said, Baby Gordon's memory will reset after a number of years. There will come a day where I will no longer be controller of this railway and I need to make sure Gordon has a more permanent parental figure in his life instead of relying on future controllers."

"What did you have in mind sir"?

"Edward, would you be willing to take on the role of being Gordon's parent if he can't be returned to normal"? Sir Topham Hatt asked.

"Of course sir, I promise to take good care of Gordon."

"Thank you Edward, I don't know where this railway would be without you."
