"Tainted Love", written by Ed Cobb and originally performed by Gloria Jones, 1964. I always assumed this was an original by Soft Cell until I started playing Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas many years ago and recognized it from one of the in-game radio stations.
The Soft Cell synthpop version was released in 1981 and is likely the most famous version of this song.
Of course, then there's this thing:
I'm not much of a Marilyn Manson fan to be honest, I've always thought his schtick reeked of Trying Too Hard, but whatever. The movie this song was used to promote, Not Another Teen Movie, is still fun to watch.
