I love how this card exist, it allows you to pay 500 LP to fuse twice and it's not even some archetype specific thing, this is just Polymerization x2, imagine the wicked combos Judai or other could pull with this card...
And it's only used twice in the whole series just for "Fuck it, 3700 ATK Shining Flare Wingman OTK" which is not a bad idea in the slightest but still funny it's uses was for that, it's not even printed for the IRL game either.

World Championship 2008 Deck Profile: Elemental HERO
Tumblr media
Nothing says "Yu-Gi-Oh! GX" quite like the Elemental HEROES. Largely failing to make a competitive splash, Jaden Yuki's favorite cards nonetheless remain a fan favorite and are quite fun in many forms. The idea is simple: use Fusion Summoning to turn your pretty mediocre Monsters into actually kinda okay Monsters. With so many options available, some of which getting their own decks, I decided my primary Elemental HERO deck would revolve around the best ones, using the best main deck HEROES so that Fusion Summoning, while the goal, is not required for this deck to achieve anything. In particular this deck utilizes Elemental HERO Sparkman and his many powerful fusions. Among them, Shining Flare Wingman is my favorite, as it can be easily cheesed out by fusing Sparkman with a fusion substitute, allowing us to skip needing to summon Flame Wingman first. Despite the emphasis on Fusion Summoning, this deck plays only one copy of Polymerization. This is because Elemental HERO Woodsman and King of the Swamp can be used to search it, and the former can retrieve it from the Graveyard to for further use, possibly even as discard fodder. When in doubt of which HERO to retrieve from your deck with Stratos or E - Emergency Call, go for Elemental HERO Heat; even one other Elemental HERO on the field will put Heat's attack power above almost all other level 4 or lower monsters, and it keeps building as you keep assembling HEROES. Here's the list: MONSTERS (20): Elemental Hero Sparkman x3 Cyber Dragon x3 Elemental Hero Bladedge x1 Elemental Hero Lady Heat x1 Elemental Hero Ocean x2 Elemental Hero Stratos x1 Elemental Hero The Heat x3 Elemental Hero Woodsman x2 King of the Swamp x3 The Light - Hex-Sealed Fusion x1 SPELLS (10): E - Emergency Call x3 Future Fusion x1 Heavy Storm x1 Miracle Fusion x3 Polymerization x1 Premature Burial x1 TRAPS (10): Call of the Haunted x1 Dimensional Prison x2 Hero Signal x1 Mirror Force x1 Phoenix Wing Wind Blast x2 Solemn Judgment x2 Torrential Tribute x1 FUSIONS (30): Chimeratech Fortress Dragon x3 Cyber End Dragon x1 Cyber Twin Dragon x2 Elemental Hero Darkbright x3 Elemental Hero Inferno x3 Elemental Hero Plasma Vice x3 Elemental Hero Shining Flare Wingman x3 Elemental Hero Shining Phoenix Enforcer x3 Elemental Hero Terra Firma x3 Elemental Hero Thunder Giant x3 Elemental Hero Wildedge x3

jaden and bastion's duel in season 1 is.. honestly rly disappointing tbh?? 😕
like it's built up so much beforehand, but then all bastion's strategy really amounts to is stopping jaden using polymerization.. and everyone acts like this is the end of the world?? as if he doesn't literally have other ways to fusion summon, like w/ fusion gate??
but then jaden doesn't even end up doing anything especially smart to counter bastion's strategy??? like he just gives up on fusions all together, and only wins by pulling some bullshit with elemental hero wildheart + cyclone boomerang, 2 cards he'd never even used before this duel?? 😵‍💫
idk i think it would have just been so much more satisfying to show him like, Actually countering bastion's strategy and beating him with a fusion, it could have been a p good time for shining flare wingman to show up 😧

Introduction of Elemental HEROes suggests they will eventually be forced to introduce archetypes into Rush Duels. There are enough Elemental HERO cards without archetypal effects, but that would mean many of the classic cards won't get in, such as Shining Flare Wingman, and Necroshade. Their effects could be altered, of course.
This also means we are stuck with Fusions for a while, though since this is happening on the 20th Anniversary for GX, we have until 2028 to introduce Synchros in Rush Duels. So YGO-10 would be the latest option.

So I was remembering a video on YouTube about the Shining Flare Wingman summon, what I do found interesting though was in the comments some guy thinking of alternate forms for Flame Wingman, like one with Necro Darkman/Necroshade and other with DarkBright Man/DarkBright, that one really grabbed my attention... unfortunately the videos has been deleted so it's not out there anymore and I barely remember it...so I decided to make my own take on it based on the one or two things I remember of it and doing in the style of Konami making Boss Fusion Monstrosities with High Attack and absurd effects.
I was kinda thinking and trying to remember about an idea someone ina YouTube comment had about further ways to evolve Flame Wingman, one involved fusing it with Necro Darkman and the other involved fusing with Darkbright man, because I really liked the second idea a lot but can't remember it for the life of me, I'm gonna do my own take on the idea while trying to preserve the few things I remember from it.
So here I present you...this abomination:
Elemental HERO Chaos Flare Wingman
Dark Attribute
Level 12
[Warrior/Fusion/Effect]
"Elemental HERO Flame Wingman" + "Elemental HERO Darkbright Man"
(This card is also treated as Light attribute)
Must be Fusion Summoned and can not be Special Summoned by other ways, when this card is fusion Summoned your opponent cannot target it with card effects for this turn. This card gains 300 ATK points for every "Elemental HERO" in your graveyard. If this card attacks a defense position monster, inflict piercing damage. When this monster destroys a monster by battle and sends it to the graveyard, inflict damage equal to your opponent equal to the ATK of the destroyed monster in the graveyard. This card gains different effects based on the number of monsters in each player graveyards or banished:
4+:Gains 300 ATK points for every monster in either graveyard. When this card attacks it destroys every monster in the opponents side of the field with attack lower than this card and deals damage to the opponent equal to the highest ATK of the destroyed monsters in the graveyard (your choice if tied).
8+:Gains 300 ATK points for every monster in either graveyard or banished pile. When this card attacks it destroys every monster with ATK lower than this card on the opponents side of the field and deals damage equal to the combined ATK of every destroyed monster in the graveyard this way.
12+:Gains 300 ATK points for every monster in either Graveyard or Banished Pile. When this card attacks it banishes every card in your opponents side of the field and deals damage equal to the combined ATK of every monster banished this way. Once per turn this card can banish all cards in your opponents graveyard.
ATK 3700/DEF 3000.
So uh...yeah, there's this things which is an Unholy mishmash of Shining Flare Wingman, The Shining, Contrast HERO Chaos, Evil Mind, Dark Fusion and Skydive Scorcher, I thought of throwing in Inferno Wing effect of dealing damage depending if either ATK or DEF are higher, the sad thing is I don't think it be *that* busted.
"But isn't this thing too busted already?!"
It needs to HERO Fusion Monsters to summon, two old Fusions at that which require specific materials, I think that's enough of a downside if any, it's like trying to bring out Contrast HERO Chaos because there's no main deck Masked HERO Monsters as of now, I feel the effort should be worth it.
So uh...what you think of this monstrosity? And if you want to draw it that be really cool.

I think the next DS game I'm going to look into is GX Spirit Caller! The format looks very interesting, with Stratos (called Airman in this game) at 3 and Cyber Dragon being a main deck staple. It's a very different game from the World Championship series, instead being evocative of Nightmare Troubadour, except with a real cardpool. The elephant in the room though, is the same elephant that was in Nightmare Troubadour, Cyber-Stein being legal at 3. Stein warps the deck building meta around it, and it can be hard to justify playing anything besides Stein OTK decks on a practical level, especially since Megamorph is also unlimited, and Last Will is legal at 1. I've come up with a couple Stein builds I think are actually cool, being a Stein-Horus deck that takes advantage of Last Will and a Dragon-Stein deck based around how a lot of the cards that support Stein also support Lord of D., but I'm gonna try to avoid relying on it too much for the sake of variety. Beyond Stein, the set of three each of of Cyber Dragon and Elemental Hero Stratos provides a powerful offensive backbone to any deck, especially fusion based ones, which typically struggle with that if they don't open well. Cyber Dragon has three different fusion monsters you can make with it, and Stratos can be used to search Elemental Hero Sparkman, which when paired with King of the Swamp can make either Thunder Giant, or my go-to, Shining Flare Wingman. There's something fascinating about seeing Shining Flare Wingman be this accessible even outside Elemental Hero decks, and it really enhances the early GX aesthetic of this game!
