Red Guy (Don't Hug Me I'm Scared)

The Lady of the Green Kirtle a.k.a The Green Witch (Chronicles of Narnia) :
"she was the villain but I liked her a lot"
Yoo Sangah (Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint)
"Sangah means ivory"
Agent Blue a.k.a Mr. Jensen (The Codename Conspiracy) :
"Codename conspiracy"
Cure Princess a.k.a Shirayuki Hime a.k.a Himelda Window Cure Queen of the Blue Sky (Precure) :
"Her full name has blue in it. But her civilian name is also Shirayuki Hime, which translates to Snow White (dir. tl.- Princess Snow White)"
Maglor Kanafinwe Makalaure (The Silmarillion) :
"hes an elf!! his mothername and fathername (makalaure and kanafinwe) are in quenya, while maglor is a sindarin translation of makalaure. makalaure is translated as either gold-cleaver or forging gold, and it refers to his skill with a harp and singing. hes the longest-lived son of feanor, and hes killed so many people. he's also very sad about killing all of those people, and so now wanders the beaches singing laments about all of his horrible deeds until he fades. fun fact! he raised elrond (like from lotr) and his twin brother elros after trying to murder their parents. fun dude. would totally be a hipster"
Rose-Red/Rosenrot (Snow White and Rose-Red/Schneeweißchen und Rosenrot) :
"It's a German fairy tale.
The girl, Rose-Red is named after the bush with the red roses in her mother's garden. She is lively and cheerful. She loved going out on the meadows and fields to search for flowers and to catch summer birds.
She loves her sister. Together they often went into the woods to collect berries. Animals liked them, not as food, but as friends. They help animals who need help.
Sometimes they were late and they just slept under the stars and moon in the free nature. Nothing happened to them ever. They were happy kids, doing kid things and helping their lovely mother. In summer she would help to clean the house. Everyday Rose-Red would make a small flower bouquet of two roses, on from each rose bush, and place it at her mother's bed.
Because she was friendly to animals and helped them, she got rich at the end."
Blue (The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys) :
"tragic robot girlfriends (red and blue) for the win! her name is blue because thats the model (grade) of pornodroid she is"

elrond doesn’t call maglor his father during his time with the fëanorian host. not seriously anyway; there’s plenty of sarcastic ‘thanks, dad’-s and the occasional furious ‘stop pretending you’re my father, kinslayer!’, but not once in the years he spends in maglor’s orbit does elrond call him his father and mean it
then the twins get sent to gil-galad’s camp, and there are so many people who expect them to be someone else. there are those who assume they’re traumatised, those who assume they’re brainwashed, those who assume they’re lying, because why else wouldn’t they acknowledge the horrors of their captivity? elros deals with it all by essentially pretending elves don’t exist, but elrond can’t do that, it’s blatantly obvious to anyone who’s known the twins for more than an hour which choice each of them will take, he’s surrounded by people who won’t accept his emotions or what his childhood was actually like. there are elves who call him a traitor for not robotically hating the fëanorians for several decades straight, and elves who tell him that maglor can’t hurt him here, he doesn’t have to pretend any more, and elrond can’t tell which sentiment he hates worse
(sometimes, in his darkest hours, he wonders if they’re right)
that’s the background context to elrond’s mental state when, near the end of the war of wrath, it starts going around the camp that eärendil wants to meet his sons. elrond is already a very angry teenager for all of the above and many more reasons, and he’s having an especially shitty day when someone he’s never met before tells him he can finally see his father again!
and something in elrond just snaps. he goes on this long furious rant about eärendil, about how he left elwing behind and abandoned them all to go chase a fruitless hope, how even when he came back the army he brought with him destroyed everything elrond had ever known, how little elrond remembers him, how little eärendil apparently cares
then elrond starts talking about the elf who actually raised him, who taught him to fight and to heal, who stood between two frightened children and the darkness, who held them tight and sang soft steady lullabies, who never spurned them no matter what elrond said to him, who he knows loved them, no matter the monster he was. elrond finishes by saying something that, despite how much he means it in the moment, he later regrets
‘my father is maglor fëanorion. i have no other’
this, of course, gets back to eärendil

Steampunk!Númenor AU
Personally, I’ve always seen Númenor as a perfect set-up for introducing elements of steampunk! So here are a bunch of thoughts about it. :)
They both include:
Colonialism
“Person/machine vs. nature” conflict
Advancements that have a cost
Underlying darkness and menace
Discussions about materialism and sensualism
“Person/machine vs. religion” conflict
Encouragement of exploration and discovery
A hint of exceptionalism
Struggle against potential corruption
General Ideas:
Númenorians who not only sail on the ocean, but explore the skies in aeroships
Maybe the island itself moves? Like in the movie Castle in the Sky? The island itself could have mechanisms so that they’re constantly seeing new places
A lot of interest in astronomy, given Elros’s connection to the stars--an observatory on the Meneltarma, huge telescopes, etc.
I imagine Númenorian culture as similar to Turkish, Persian, and Indian cultures, so do with that what you will (I’m just going to chuck away all the Victorian English outfits and things)
Electricity! They can do hydroelectric stuff from the ocean!
When the start attacking the mainland and annexing, they become famed for their weapons. People tell stories of whole cities covered in ash and swarming with metal soldiers.
Slightly More Fleshed-Out Thoughts:
Give me a Númenor that’s made of copper and steel, wires and gears and pistons that never cease to churn. Give me Númenorians who fly with gliders and aeroships and hope to reach the stars they love. Give me black, choking smoke rolling across the water as the moving island sloughs through the waves, ready for another conquest in the name of progress. Give me a Númenor so obsessed with immortality that they begin to create life forms of their own, robots and automatons that can never die. Give me the bodies of rulers lying in golden pods, ready to be revived when their scientists finally find out how to replicate Eru’s spark. Give me a Númenor that cries out to the gods for guidance, and when they get none, decide to build their own with pliers and wrenches and beaten metal. Give me a a Númenor that smells like oil and kerosene. Give me the wreckage of abandoned machines strewn over Middle Earth when Númenor is gone, drowned in the waves of the sea they sought to conquer.
Give me a Númenor that is beautiful and wonderful and advanced and dirty and cruel and capable of horrible things. Give me a Númenor that shines with electric light, a star floating in a dark sea. Give me a Númenor that consumed itself and transformed into a ticking, screeching, creaking, thrumming hell of oil and rust and blood and death and corruption so thick you could smell it. Give me a Númenor that flew too close to the sun and ripped its own mechanical heart out and bled kerosene into the sea.
Anyways, yeah, I think Steampunk!Númenor is pretty neat.

Seriously tho if you have ideas for Birds Id love them. I've gone from the Feanorians to Haleth and Caranthir to Aegnor, Andreth, and Finrod and its just....HHHHH
you’re right there are!! so many options!! i actually really love the idea of it being the fellowship?? like these people are on a mission and then whoops, everything goes to shit...
But the Feanorians work really well!! you have twins built in, and there’s seven of them....
Maedhros > Davenport: the Leader, has arguably the most tragic fate of all of them, feels pressure to keep everybody together while everything is falling apart
Maglor > Lucretia: the Sole Survivor, the one who tells/sings everyone’s story, the one who’s left surviving and living with guilt, adding another layer of it being All His Fault is .... mmmMMM
Celegorm > Magnus: i have this idea of pre-Oath Celegorm fitting into the Big Muscles, Bigger Heart archetype and seeing him go through hell and come out battered and angry and mean is such an ironic contrast to Magnus. ALSO! Huan as the Voidfish???
Amrod > Lup: connection to fire, disappearing/dying...
Amras > Taako: the Other Twin, feeling incomplete...
That leaves Merle and Barry for Caranthir and Curufin, and honestly??? idk?? Maybe Merle for Caranthir, they’re both kind of the Odd One Out in some ways... except Caranthir’s whole Emo Elf thing doesn’t quite fit with Merle’s Choose Joy motto.
And that leaves Barry for Curufin, which, I guess? Barry has a lot of stuff going on, he’s basically mulitclassing in everything, and I can see Curufin doing that too (he gets it from Feanor). Also, Curufin is the only one who definitely 100% did get married at some point (see: Celebrimbor) so having him be The Lover would make sense if he was separated from his wife (and his son too!)
ALSO, EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Elrond & Elros as Angus McDonald!!!!
I think the interplanar travel thing doesn’t make? a whole lot of sense? if we want to keep the family intact. Unless: WAIT I HAVE AN IDEA.
So they go chasing the Silmarils/The Light of Creation after Melkor/the Hunger steals them. Maybe instead of stumbling into that whole thing they go after it intentionally? Because Feanor, the Only Son Of Finwe, was killed after completing his master work, channeling the Light of Creation into the Silmarils... and his sons swear an Oath for Revenge. Except then Arda gets eaten up entirely and they’re homeless.
The Century happens and they get more and more desperate - they don’t have the moral compass that Lup sets down in the robot world - and eventually they break down and try to recreate the silmarils hoping that it will keep Melkor at bay. But it doesn’t work and the War of Wrath starts to happen on the planet they’ve landed on (which is weirdly similar to the one they left, but not entirely the same...) and Maglor decides to take things into his own hands after Amrod goes missing.
I’m not exactly sure what happens next? Maglor keeps Maedhros around. Curufin goes rogue, Amrod is missing... Celegorm, Amras, and Caranthir get recruited and don’t recognize their brother because magic. We can fill in other roles later. Obviously the (seven?) silmarils take the place of the grand relics.
The real main idea I have though, is this: This planet they landed on is Arda, except Not. It’s like an alternate universe where Finwe married Indis instead of Miriel, and thus Feanor was never born... but Fingolfin, Finarfin, Findis, and Lalwen were! So they can meet all these cousins they never had :o And this leaves room for Sindar shenanigans too!
