So I'm pulling most of this out of my ass, but-
I think such an underrated concept to explore is Padme's first few years as senator. Like, just the culture shock of that alone must be enormous, going from Naboo and being the highest voice of authority to suddenly being just one of thousands (or hundreds of thousands depending on what canon you choose).
The slow creeping realization that Palpatine didn't fix any of the problems he told her existed under Valorum. Seeing just how deep and pervasive it really is. Realizing that most of her peers are only there for their own gain, that their priorities are themselves and not the people they claim to serve. That building, burning fury at the injustice of that. That she seems to be one of the only people trying to fix anything. Anger strong enough she could rip someone apart with her teeth that her colleagues are actively trying to stop her from doing that.
And that deep, alienating realization that she is so so alone in caring about any of this.

Unpopular opinion but of course Pen had an easier time keeping her love in these past two seasons, of course she wasn’t broken by it the same way he was, comparing his feelings from s3 to her‘s pre 2.08 is not possible especially cause they were more of a crush she needed to survive
she needed them cause she‘s trapped in this abusive life and she‘s a wallflower and she just wants out and he‘s this galant hero in her fantasies saving her and he‘s perfect and she daydreams about him coming to save her to keep herself sane and whole(ish)
It‘s not … sexual, it‘s not about him, not really it’s not sth that’s set in a reality that she expects to ever be fullfilled, it‘s about this romantic ideal, of being saved from her wall and she just happens to be casting him as the hero cause he‘s just about flawless and charming enough while also absolutely unattainable keeping it a save save fantasy
While he fell into all consuming, unconditional love (alongside her) in season 3 the minute he let himself acknowledge her as an adult woman
Which is not to say that it wasn’t hard and soulcrushing at times for her or less real and less worth and not to say that by the end of part 1 she doesn’t feel about him as he does for her but it‘s different, it‘s not love love
And then he says those things in 2.08 and suddenly he’s no longer perfect but he‘s human and then he comes back from his travels and he‘s a man and he acts like everyone else and and he‘s so flawed and and she’s so unimpressed but also she‘s finally letting herself see that and acknowledge that cause for all this talk about how she knows him so very well she‘s never let herself see that he‘s also got a less than perfect dark side … and when she does that’s when she truly starts to love him unconditionally the same he does her
(it‘s the same for him btw and it‘s precisely why he doesn’t have acknowledgable romantic feelings for her cause to him Pen is perfect and she‘s clean and therefore she’s to be kept in a separate box from everyone else away from any and all mansly urges so to speak)

I'm sorry Mr. The Davies but you can't do a "look, the mysterious thing everyone was theorizing over was only important because everyone was theorizing over it" if the mysterious thing was clearly signposted as being important, in all the ways you are known to have used in the past to signpost important things. Like c'mon, this felt like a Baby's First Audience Subversion. You don't leave out Obvious Theory Bait and then go "haha! I tricked you!" when people take it as bait for theories. If you actually want to make a metacommentary on theorists missing the forest for the trees, you have to do this with something that isn't important and never was important that fans latched on to anyways. Otherwise it just feels like poking the audience in the back because they... got invested and put effort into enjoying the show.

i think its been well documented that each episode since wild blue yonder has had a name check (if you dont know what that is, its whey they say the name of the show/episode title in the episode itself), and i was wondering, since its not the same character every time, could there be a connection between them? i cant think of anything but i did make a list of every character who spoke the first name checking line in each episode so if anyone else can find a connection then do add it in the tags
anyways heres the list:
wild blue yonder - donna noble
the giggle - the doctor
the church on ruby road - the doctor
space babies - the doctor
the devils chord - timothy drake
boom - the doctor
73 yards - ruby sunday
dot and bubble - lindy pepperbean
rogue - rogue
the legend of ruby sunday - carla sunday
empire of death - TBA

Because I didn’t really like Empire of Death, and it seems most people didn’t, here are a few things I did love:
Mel noticing and holding the Sixth Doctor’s cravat and coat. That was wonderful
The Earth being destroyed at every point along its timeline was cool! Very Faction Paradox
Sutekh ripping holes in the Time Vortex
The Doctor telling Sutekh “if you’re death I must be life”—how incredibly vainglorious!
Mrs Flood at the end on the rooftop. That was SO Iris Wildthyme. She was even wearing an Iris Wildthyme costume. “That mysterious traveller in time and space…” PLEASE RTD be cool and bring Iris back, it would bring me such joy!

Does anyone remember BBC's Robin Hood?
Marian being a total girl boss would put on a mask and hood and suddenly she was THE NIGHTWATCHMAN and Guy of Gisborne (who was in love with her) could never recognise her and he would be like WHO IS THIS MAN??? MY ENEMY! I MUST KILL THE NIGHT WATCHMAN.
Then The Nightwatchman would do a backflip and and run away.
Also everyone was gay apart from Robin.
