Preparedness Tips for a Battle called "Disaster"

In the event of a natural disaster, having a preparedness plan can be a critical element in helping secure a safe transition out of danger for you, your loved ones and your property. Preparation is key, but it is also important to stay calm and focused during an emergency. If you are ordered to evacuate, do so. If you are not evacuating, use your time wisely to make preparations.
1. Know what type of disaster to expect.

Each crisis requires somewhat different prep, supplies, and know-how. Find out which disasters your town, state and region are most at risk for and plan accordingly.
Wildfires: High risk in forested areas with little rain.
Earthquakes: They can happen in all states at any time of year.
Floods: The most common natural disaster can hit anywhere, but especially in low-lying areas.
Storms and Typhoons: The East and Gulf coasts are at high risk from June to November.
2. Pack a "go bag."
If you have to leave your home in a hurry, you'll want to have some essentials packed and ready to go. Keep the following supplies in a portable container in the area of your house where you'll take shelter:
Emergency Kit List
Three days' worth of food and water (at least a gallon per family member)
Battery powered (or hand crank) flashlights and radio
Extra batteries
First aid kit
Whistle to signal for help
Trash bags and duct tape, along with dust masks
Wrench or pliers to turn off utilities
Manual can opener for food
Regional maps
Cell phone with chargers, inverter, or solar charger
Moist towelettes and any personal sanitation or specific family needs, like pet supplies
3. Make an action plan.

When things get chaotic, you want to make sure that every family member knows what to do. We suggest designating two meeting places (one close by and one a little further away in your neighborhood) and hang a map with the spots marked near your emergency kit.
4. Prepare your Home

If the power goes out and you have time, unplug appliances and electronics and turn off air conditioners, whether you stay or go. This will prevent damage when the electricity surges back on. Leave one lamp on so you'll know when the power's back.
5. Return safely.
Coming home after a major disaster can be daunting. Don't let your family rush back into your home without taking these precautions.
Look for damage outside. Walk around the exterior and check for issues like loose or fallen power cables, damaged gas lines and cracks in the foundation or in beams. If you have trees nearby, carefully assess their stability.Note sounds and odors. If you smell gas or hear a hissing noise, call the fire department and have them come by and inspect the situation before you reenter.
Then check inside. If the power is still out, use a flashlight (not a candle — open flames can burn items or cause gases to ignite) to assess damage.
Inspect appliances. For small appliances like coffee makers and toasters, look closely at the cords for fraying or exposed wires before using them again. Fridges, ranges and washers can be more complicated; call a service company to check the safety of connections and components, then replace anything that’s severely damaged.
Document the damage. It may be hard emotionally, but if you want to file an insurance claim, you’ll need a visual record of all the damage with clear pictures and thorough notes before you clean up.
. . .
📣 Another Vital Tip!
Remember to ask for help. For emergencies in the Philippines, please alert local authorities at the numbers below:

📌National Emergency Hotline in the Philippines : 911.
📌Philippine National Police Hotline: 117 or (02) 8722-0650.
📌Philippine Red Cross: 143 or (02) 8527-8385 to 95.
📌Bureau of Fire Protection: (02) 8426-0219 or (02) 8426-3812.

10 Tips for Finals
Finals is waving, are you ready to wave back?Exams are not easy as you wanted it to be especially in college it will really squeeze your brain, test your knowledge and understanding. Exams also can cause stress and you are worried about it. So to avoid this kind of difficulties and procrastination in finals if you don't want to fail you need to be prepared so here are the things you need to do:
Get Plenty of Sleep
At first glance, sleep might not seem like the most important of the many study tips for finals. In reality, however, all that prep work will do little good if it’s not accompanied by plenty of shut-eye. Extensive research reveals that sleep not only improves our ability to focus, but also plays an active role in consolidating memories and making it easier to retrieve information. Slow-wave non-REM sleep, in particular, is important for memories involving facts that need to be actively recalled.
The need for sleep underscores the importance of avoiding procrastination. If you wait until the last minute to begin studying, you may panic and choose to ditch sleep in favor of cramming. The sooner you get started, the less likely you’ll have to endure all-nighters later on.
If you’re currently struggling to get quality sleep, you’re far from alone. Still, college doesn’t need to be a time of minimal shut-eye. Make an active effort to improve sleep hygiene by removing TVs and mobile devices from your room, getting on as consistent of a schedule as possible, and avoiding caffeine in the evening.
Create a Study-Oriented Space
Is your workspace conducive to studying? Or do you simply hang out with your laptop and textbook wherever you can find a comfy spot?
Environment matters. You might find it difficult to focus if your space is cluttered or chock full of distracting devices.
If possible, set up a nook exclusively dedicated to studying. This area should include a desk, an ergonomic chair, quality lighting, and any materials you might require during your study session. Let your roommates, family members, or other fellow residents know that, when you sit down at your desk, you are not to be disturbed.
Level Up Your Playlist
The right music can make your study session both more enjoyable and more effective. Several studies highlight the value of classical music, in particular. For example, in a study published in Learning and Individual Differences, researchers discovered that lectures involving classical background music prompted higher quiz scores than similar lectures that lacked such music.
The main theory underscoring these results: Music places students in a heightened emotional state that makes them far more receptive to information than they would be under ordinary circumstances. Experts at the Duke Cancer Institute also believe that music boosts retention because it reduces anxiety.
Ditch Distracting Devices
In today’s digital world, it’s tough to go even a few minutes without glancing at our smartphones. Unfortunately, this dependence can cause big problems when it’s time to buckle down and study. Research suggests that the mere presence of a smartphone is enough to prevent most people from learning effectively—even when showing restraint and managing to avoid scrolling through notifications.
While apps and alarms might seem helpful, they may not make up for the inherent distraction that comes with keeping your phone in your study space. For best results, commit to turning your phone off for at least an hour and placing it in a safe space as far from your desk as possible.
Experiment With a Variety of Study Tactics
No one study method works equally well for everyone. Some people learn best from reading notes out loud, while others benefit from flashcards or highlighters. Experiment with several approaches until you find a strategy that best addresses your unique needs. Don’t be surprised, however, if a single method fails to deliver results for every subject. A specific strategy may prove more effective for one course than for others, so don’t be afraid to switch things up as soon as your approach appears to deliver diminishing returns.
Create Sample Test Questions
As you try different approaches to studying, consider this effective option: Develop and answer questions that might realistically be found on your exams.
This method provides a variety of benefits. First, it forces you to boil down weeks of learning into a few basic takeaways. Details matter, of course, but it’s equally important to understand the big picture.
Writing sample questions also allows you to think like an instructor. This thought process may benefit you when the actual exam arrives. Finally, self-created tests help you determine where your main gaps in knowledge lie for a clear indication of the topics that warrant closer review.
Get Involved with a Study Group
It’s never too late to start a study group. While these gatherings are most beneficial if they take place throughout the entire course of the semester, they can provide plenty of value in the last few days before finals. If nothing else, commiserating over test prep may ease your stress.
Many of the tactics highlighted above can be integrated into group efforts. For example, everybody in your group can be tasked with creating flashcards from a specific lecture or chapter in your textbook. These can then be mixed and used for the ultimate flashcard review session. Likewise, participants could develop sample questions to be compiled and used in a practice exam.
Don’t Be Afraid to Ask for Help
Exam prep may feel lonely at times, but you can take solace in knowing that you’re never truly alone. Numerous resources are available to help you conquer difficult material and deal with pre-exam stress.
Begin by turning to your fellow classmates or study group members for assistance. Even a brief chat could trigger valuable insights or provide the motivation needed to push through when the going gets tough.
Don’t hesitate to seek help from your instructors. Office hours exist for a reason, and yet, far too many students are too intimidated to chat up those in the best position to help.
The sooner you get over this discomfort, the better. Not only will increased interaction with your instructor prove helpful for short-term test prep, you could build a strong relationship to form the basis of your college networking efforts.
Keep the Big Picture in Mind
Final exams aren’t designed to torture stressed-out students. There’s more to this college essential than grades alone. It’s the perfect example of the cliché about the journey being more important than the destination. The act of studying for your finals ensures that you fully engage with the extensive material covered throughout the duration of each course.
If you take exam prep seriously, you’ll come away with a richer understanding of key concepts. This, in turn, will ensure that you retain the knowledge you’ve worked so hard to gain. As you move forward with upper-level courses, graduate school, or your eventual career, you’ll thank yourself for putting in the effort.

Why should we have plants in our home?
Plants were already part of our daily routine, where we checked our plants and taking care of it like it’s a part of our family. Especially our PLANTITO AND PLANTITA who are very addicted in having plants like a big part of their life and money is invested in plants.
The reasons why we should have plants in our home:
Plants bring natural beauty to our living spaces. By creating texture and balance, a room or patio can be transformed into an environment that comforts and welcomes. But, just like Miss Universe, plants can do more than look pretty. They’ve been proven to reduce stress so well that one glance at a plant lowers your heart rate. They also help clean the air we breathe by absorbing toxins and acting as little oxygen factories. Plants simply make us feel better.
By easing mental fatigue and improving air quality plants manage to find themselves an indispensable part of your home life. Not convinced yet? Studies show that:
1. In addition to calming your heart rate, plants lower blood pressure and reduce muscle tension related to stress
2. Plants help us relax and focus, leading to increased productivity, creativity, idea generation, and problem solving capabilities. In fact, the presence of plants helps so much that it has been shown to relieve the symptoms experienced by children with ADD.
3. Plants help patients recovering from surgery and ease the symptoms of Alzheimer’s.
I guess we’re finally learning what our ancestors have known for centuries, plants are more than just ornaments. At some level, we are deeply connected to them. So much so, that simply cohabitating with them brings us health and repose.

🅵︎🅰︎🆂︎🆃︎🅵︎🅾︎🆁︎🆆︎🅰︎🆁︎🅳︎
With the awakening of our eyes, it is unthinkable that a trial will come which no one knows. A battle, that everyone is afraid of. All of us are afraid of not knowing where to stick.
With the entry of a year into our lives which is not just a normal month, it is not just a normal illness. But this year was a pain in the ass, almost everyone feels.
Every month goes by that everyone thinks the trial is over, that the Burning in the forests, The killing of animals, The spread of Viruses, The presence of strong Hurricanes, The Floods and the homeless and loved ones of life.
Everyone wants to finish this year; no one likes the pain it causes. That is where we are in the middle of November where only a few days and a month later it will end.
This year I have learned where:
1. Everyone locks on their house to be with the family and show to love them. That no matter what happens; only the family is always with us. Family which is most important.
2. Maintain health at all times.
3. This year we experienced not being able to breathe fresh air, which was blocked by Facemask and Face shield. Those every time we go out to our homes we always carry it, and wear it.
4. Everyone experienced being in control.
5. This year we have been taught to be content with what you have, and to understand what you do not have.
6. There were online classes where I used to read and watch only on TVs.
7. This year has taught us to endure some days without power.
8. Be independent
9. A lot of money does not matter, just enough.
10. And lastly let us learn to pray, to pray not only for ourselves but for all.

Here this year we were taught everything we thought was easy, we were taught in a trial we have never experienced. Maybe, this is the time to change, the time to change ourselves because this person has taught us, that not everything is easy, that not everything is available in a moment that not everything is permanent.
That we have experienced this, not to regret who is at fault, but to love each other more and show true heroism to this person who no one really knows when this fight will end. We just know in ourselves that we will fight and we will fight until now.

And just one of the most important lessons here is to stay in love with each other, have bayanihan, and strengthen our faith in the Lord. Because we have no other gratitude even though we have experienced hardship, let us be happy because we woke up, learned, and no matter how much was damaged, no matter how much we lost, we still have faith in him and strengthen it even more through prayer. A Prayer, not only to oneself but to all.
