🏳️‍🌈 Happy Pride Month 2023! 🏳️‍🌈

This afternoon, @kozmicrain and I went to the Capitol building for a dolly Pride photoshoot featuring Evette, Josefina, Samantha, Nellie, Mini-Rain, and Makena! Sam, Nellie, and Mini-Rain are proudly carrying the lesbian flag, while Evie, Kay, and Josefina are supporting them. Even Jip got in on the fun with his rainbow bandanna! (And yes, I headcanon Sam and Nellie as girlfriends, at least later on in the series.)

Hailey is dressed up as a witch! (Hailey gets a photo alone bc she’s been wearing this outfit since August)

The World by Us girls decided to go as different decades! Maritza as an 80’s exercise enthusiast, Evette as a 70’s hippie, and Makena as a Roaring 20’s dancer.

Amara is a pirate, while Jess is going as Elizabeth Schuyler. (I’ve always thought that Jess looks like Phillipa Soo from the original cast when her hair is down). And Charlotte is wearing the Grecian Goddess outfit.

Courtney is of course Crystal Starshooter, Maryellen is a cowboy, and Julie decided to reuse her pioneer dress to be Laura Ingles.

Finally Angie is a flapper, Luci is an astronaut, and Lindsey is ready for a 1950s Sock Hop!

Evette’s Bed and Bedding:

I wanted to give her furniture a thrifted, trendy vibe. The bed frame is vintage (it reminds me of Molly’s yellow bed), and I feel like she’s the type of person to crochet all her blankets.

Evette’s Nightstand:

She definitely made those candles herself because she’s that cool. She collects marbles, wears way to much of that body spray and crochets coasters for when Makena and Maritza come over so they don’t leave rings on her vintage furniture.

Evette’s Closet Rack:

Evette obviously needs a place to show off her thrifted finds!! Clothes sold separately, of course. But it DOES come with a jewelry tree, more body spray and winter accessories.

I figured I'd do a list of what songs were #1 when Historical Characters (and Girl of the Year/Contemporary) were born. The list starts with Molly because the #1 songs lists I can find only begin at 1930 or so. As for Girls of the Year,the list begins with Saige because she has a definitive birthdate,while Girls of the Year before her only have a birth year.

Happy DOC month! I wanted to make a post highlighting all of my dolls of color, but didn’t have enough time to do an entire group shot for them. So here’s a compilation! My black dolls (1st photo), my AAPI dolls (2nd and 3rd photo), and my native/indigenous dolls (last 4 photos). It is so, so important to me to represent the diversity of the human population, and I hope my DOC collection continues to grow in the years to come.

Nellie is currently at the doll hospital, and Maritza is still hiding from Makena and Evette to surprise them on Christmas Day, but everyone else is getting into the holiday spirit here at my place!

Samantha is reading A Christmas Carol with Jip close by, Makena hangs her stocking with care, Evette (who celebrates Yule instead, but enjoys decorating with everyone else) is putting the final touches on the tree, while Virginia and Josefina enjoy some hot spiced cider.

(I'm not including a closeup of Virginia because she's still in her "Meet"... I figured since the time of mourning in her era was between 1-3 years, and one was expected to wear black or at least mostly black that whole time, I could get away with not getting her a Christmas dress for this year.)

A very late happy Dolls of Color month! I’ve been meaning to take this picture for a while but things just kept happening this month. I’m excited how much my collection has grown, since last year this time the only DoC I had were Luci and Cecile! And given that I know my next 3 are going to be DoC (Amara who’s on her way, Corrine when I visit the AG store, and Addy for Christmas) I’m excited for how many more I’ll be able to add to my family!
