Rebecca is glad to have someone to celebrate Hanukkah with. She and Lindsey are sharing a variety of old-fashioned and modern treats.

A while ago I saw an Instagram post from a person who said they always put their GOTY dolls in the Truly Me holiday outfits from the GOTY’s year, and I love that idea so much! Some holiday outfits seem to be specially made for their GOTYs.

I want to draw all the GOTYs in their respective holiday outfits when we get to the holiday season later this year!

But I have a dilemma: What should Lindsey be wearing?

As we know, Lindsey is Jewish, so I cannot draw her in an outfit that is intended for Christmas.

This rules out the 2001 Holiday Outfit, the Garnet Holiday Outfit, because it is red and thus associated with Christmas:

Now you’re probably thinking, why don’t I just draw her in the 1996 Hanukkah Outfit?:

Well, you see, this outfit was retired in 1999, two years before Lindsey debuted. My requirements for this art series is that the doll must be wearing an outfit that was being sold at the same time they were being sold. And that is why Lindsey can’t wear this outfit.

However, I found another option; the Ice Blue Outfit!:

This outfit was released in 2001, the same year as Lindsey! I only know about this dress from the AG wiki, so I have no idea how this outfit was marketed, but based on its name, it was a winter themed outfit. And its colors are blue and white/silver, colors associated with Hanukkah, making it a perfect fit for Lindsey!

Happy Halloween!

Hailey is dressed up as a witch! (Hailey gets a photo alone bc she’s been wearing this outfit since August)

The World by Us girls decided to go as different decades! Maritza as an 80’s exercise enthusiast, Evette as a 70’s hippie, and Makena as a Roaring 20’s dancer.

Amara is a pirate, while Jess is going as Elizabeth Schuyler. (I’ve always thought that Jess looks like Phillipa Soo from the original cast when her hair is down). And Charlotte is wearing the Grecian Goddess outfit.

Courtney is of course Crystal Starshooter, Maryellen is a cowboy, and Julie decided to reuse her pioneer dress to be Laura Ingles.

Finally Angie is a flapper, Luci is an astronaut, and Lindsey is ready for a 1950s Sock Hop!

Lindsey Bergman - A 2001 Lookbook

First up in my lookbooks for Jewish American characters is someone from our May decade of the month, the 2000s. I've shared more of her story when I posted the meet outfit (linked below).

Lindsey's childhood aspiration is Creative Genius (from Growing Together) and she has the Dog Lover trait. As she grows up, I would give her the Friend of the Animals aspiration with the Creative and Good traits.

The hardest outfit to recreate ended up being the pajamas. In the book she's wearing a short sleeve shirt with matching shorts or pants, but I couldn't find matching purples with a star pattern.

Hair

Meet Outfit: Top, skirt, and tights.

Pet Parade Outfit: Overalls, shoes.

Homework Outfit: Top, Joggers, and socks.

Pajamas: All EA.

Party Outfit: Dress.

Alright so I haven’t had time to buy contact paper for the flooring, or figure out wallpaper, or even finish decorating some of these rooms but here’s the current progress!

First up, Kits room! Kit, Ruthie and Sterling (played by Eli) are plotting their next adventure!

Below that we have Samantha’s room, where Rebecca is also hanging out! I got Samantha’s bed, nightstand and Clara (plus the dress that Nellie is in) from a really great Facebook marketplace find! Also I wanted Rebecca’s menorah to be on display until I have the space for a room specifically for Rebecca!

Next up we have the parlor! At the moment it’s Elizabeth and Felicity taking tea in there (with Lydia serving tea) but I plan to switch between it being for Elizabeth and Felicity, Caroline and Lydia, & Cecile and Marie-Grace! So my goal is to try and get the back walls looking similar to Caroline’s parlor! Also I don’t know if I’ve properly introduced Lydia because I got her in the same week as Lindsey and Emily (I didn’t intend to buy 3 dolls that week lol), but this is my gorgeous truly me #21 that I found for pretty cheap on Mercari about a month or 2 ago.

Then on the other bookcase we have Courtney’s bedroom! I plan to move the shelf above this up to give it a higher ceiling and set out more of Courtney’s sleepover stuff but for now her and Abby are enjoying just hanging out!

Above that we have the game room, which currently only has my GOTY’s on display. Joss and Corrine are in a heated game of air hockey, while Kailey and Lindsey are on the computer. I was shocked to see the twin’s computer at the benefit sale this past year and I’m soooo glad I picked it up!

Then finally we have the room that I plan to change out for different scenes. Right now it’s a camping scene. Originally it just had Nicki, Mia and Sprocket, but my mom was like “you should add Luciana and her telescope!” So now Luci is third wheeling Mia and Nicki’s camping date 😂 (did I mention my Nicki and Mia are dating? Bc they’re dating)

I can’t wait to figure out wallpaper and flooring but that’ll probably take a few weeks since I know I’m traveling next weekend, and then pride is the weekend after that. (Yes I know it’s October but they wait til it’s cooler out where I live bc it’s unsafe to hold pride in the middle of summer bc of the heat). But hopefully I’ll have some wallpaper and flooring done by Halloween!

Lindsey (along with one of my sister's dolls) visited the Seneca Park Zoo last week. It ended up raining for most of the day so I didn't get to take a lot of pics but I did get a few good ones :)
