How easily do you find yourself joining fandoms or ships?
I'm so easy, I just see a really pretty art piece or a lovely little story and I'm boarding the boat.
*Asks are sent for fun, no pressure to answer.
I'm VERY selective about which ones I join. I linger on the sidelines of a few but rarely do I full on join or create stories and art for any outside my home fandom.
The biggest reason for this is I'm a veteran of the Superwholock era, and that left a lingering and unwelcome mark on me. It made me turn away from fandom spaces for over 7 years. I only rentered after the pandemic and discovering Bagginshield. Also, I'm not interested in discourse like at all.

It’s kinda stupid that apparently no one sat Moroha down to ask about her parents. Everyone seems so casual about not knowing what’s going on with Kagome and Inuyasha when they haven’t seen them for 15-20 years. Maybe they drilled Moroha on it off screen but it really didn’t make much sense to me that the Higurashis didn’t seem to care. Or Moroha for that matter. Why doesn’t she want to know about her parents? This show’ll drive me crazy, I already know 😅
you know what i thought about this too and yeah it’s a little concerning/disappointing. like....do you not care that your granddaughter just told you she doesn’t really know her mother. i mean that should be raising reg flags right, and yet sunrise just makes the family all “okay be safe ttyl lol” and it’s just ;iahj;fiaf. then again, sunrise is doing a bang up job of fucking things up so far, so honestly, i can’t say i’m surprised :/ im just really hoping we’ll get some more Moroha backstory here soon.

Do you have any favorite fic tags or premises that make you immediately open a fic?
To absolutely no one's surprise, I am very partial to the jealousy and protective tropes. There are surprisingly few jealous Thorin or jealous Bilbo-centric stories out there. Sure, lots of fics have elements, but they are rarely the central ones. I read all the ones in the tag and got sad when there weren't anymore, so I wrote five of my own!
I also really like alternate meeting/ Erebor never fell fics. I find them fascinating, and I love exploring the possibilities!

Happy Fanfic Writers Appreciation Day! 🥳
Has there ever been a point where you've written something that you knew was just going to be playfully mean to your readers? What was that scene?
Happy fanfic appreciation day! I mean I feel like I'm at least slightly mean half the time 😅 I put our Blorbo's through a LOT.
I will say that in Not Yours To Touch I hadn't intended for Tonrock to actually kiss Bilbo. I expected Thorin to walk in while he was making the attempt, but it just seemed like such good emotional fodder that I switched it up. I put the snippet of that scene under the cut.
With a growl, he spun on his heels and charged through the doors. Thorin had lived as a warrior a lot longer than he had been a crown prince or a king. He had a volcanic temper, and seeing Bilbo pressed against the wall with another dwarf's hands on his body and their lips pressed to his made him lose all rational thought. With a snarl, he ripped the dwarf off of Bilbo, noting that Bilbo’s eyes were wide and his hands firmly pressed to the dwarf's chest in protest. With a shout, the dwarf went clattering to the floor. He turned to meet Bilbo’s eyes. He looked surprised and frightened. He brought a thumb up to his face.
“Ghivashel, you’re crying?” Thorin whispered. He pulled Orcrist from his sheath and rounded on the dwarf. “WHY IS HE CRYING!?” he held the sword to the dwarf's throat teeth bared in rage.
“Thorin, stop! It was all just a misunderstanding!” Bilbo stepped in front of his blade, and he lowered it immediately. “Tonrock, get up, please.” Tonrock staggered to his feet.
“I’m sorry, I thought that it would have been welcome. I didn't read the situation clearly. Forgive me, Your Majesty. Forgive me, Bilbo.” Thorin raised his sword to Tonrock’s throat again.

Would you happen to have fic recs (or maybe existing collections on ao3) for Bilbo and Thorin parenting Frodo ? 🩷 I don't know if it's a trope you like or not
OK, let me start by saying I am SO sorry for taking like a week to respond. I have 4 projects/ events going at the same time right now.
This is not a trope I usually read, but every once in a while, I get a kick for it. Since I got this ask, I've added a few new ones to my TBR. I have a few recommendations, and I encourage others to add more recommendations to the comments (Self plugs are loved and welcome) ~~~~~~
The Shire’s Gems  by awkwarng3 {G}
Right As Snow  and Concerning Dwobbits by @lordoftherazzles both {G}
Notices in the Paper by YamBits {T}
The Longest Time by dddeaky {E}
in our bedroom, after the war by UnfortunatelyObsessed {T}
strange things happen for no reason by @pomgore {G}
~~~
I didn't know how you felt about Mprg, so I tried to leave out ones with that element. If that is something you are interested in, I can't recommend it enough.
One of a King by @domesticgoddesswriter {E} it has mild mpreg/ past Mpreg elements, and Bilbo's child is an OC named Dahlia (She is so so cute). Do mind the tags before reading. It's not raising Frodo, but it is co-parenting in a way (It's hard to explain it's brilliance)
What is the most recent thing someone has done to make you feel loved?
My husband just peeled and refrigerated 8 golden kiwis for me. He knows that the juice burns my skin a bit and I hate getting it all over me.
*Asks are sent for fun, no pressure to answer.
I have one lung, and there was an orange air quality advisory due to ozone and heat in GA. My hubby, the cutie he is, busts into my office with eggs and toast and verbatim says.
"The air quality is dangerous for you today. Don't go outside. Don't worry about walking the dogs. I already took the trash to the curb. I get off work at 5:30pm."
Then kisses me like he wanted to steal all the air in my lung and left..... I was like, Sir get the fuck back here, excuse me!
hi, i hope you have a great day! sorry to come with such a sudden ask but my friend just watched the hobbit trilogy not long ago and she really wants to read some bagginshield and i, sadly, have no recommendations of my own for her. can you, maybe, recommend some of your favorite fics? something to heal the soul in the aftermath of the hobbit finale? i'll be really grateful!
Well, hello, friendly Anon! I'm happy to hear your friend is getting into some bagginshield! I have a few personal favorites I enjoy that I would love to share! Some of these require an AO3 account to read, so fair warning. Also, I don't know your age, so always mind tags on all fics.
Have you named pets after fandoms? When I was 11 I convinced my parents to name our, at the time new puppy, Duchess after the cat Duchess in Aristocats. We currently have Sherlock, a 10 yr old bull terrier mix who is actually quite a smart dog, Bofur, a 7yr old who knows what terrier dog, and Zuko, who is at least one year old, a red betta fish. We have other pets but none named after fandoms.
*Asks are sent for fun, no pressure to answer.
Those are wonderful dog names! I have two dogs named Indy (like Indiana Jones) and Astro (like the dog from The Jetsons)
If I had another pet, I would probably name them something from The Lord of The Rings or The Hobbit. My next dog will definitely have a nerdy name.
What is a movie you like that you feel is not super well known? What do you like about it?
There's an older like 1960s movie called the Russians are coming. It's a comedy but also emotional. I liked the comedy and the happy ending (and Alexei and Alison).
*Asks are sent for fun, no pressure to answer within a certain amount of time or at all.*
That's an easy one: Quest For Camelot. I was (and still very much am) an avid Renaissance fairgoer who adored fantasy and the romanticized version of medieval times. This move just spoke to me. The music, the style, the story, the romance of it all. It's just so fun!
This was on The Burden Of Choice. The idea that I reignited a love for Bagginshiled in someone makes me so happy.
17. What trope is your favorite to write?
Jealousy and heavy pining! As evident by the sheer amount of it that I write.
24. What fic do you think is the funniest?
Happy Accidents, for sure. Bilbo and Thorin's introduction starts with him falling on a cactus lol.
Since I've seen many posts about people missing how common asks used to be, I have been trying to send to more asks to engage more. I really don't want to bother anyone though so I'd love to know if you enjoy receiving asks and if so what kind of asks. Detailed? Vague? Work? Fandom? Movies? Books? Childhood? Gardening? Thoughts? OTPs? OCs? I'm sure there are way more categories, I'm not limiting you to these listed options. Perhaps if it's an easier question what types of asks do you not like?
I will answer almost anything if it is a genuine, honest ask. I will climb over red-hot, broken glass in the dark to answer someone's question about my work, OC, chef tips, or any of the things you listed. I adore interacting with my followers and mutuals or, in general, the interested public.
I don't care if it's a hello or a small paragraph ask away.
The only questions I don't like to be asked are disingenuous ones, anything trying to start drama or get me into drama, and I won't answer anything rude or obvious troll bait. Just about everything else is on the table.
I like this one of my backyard. Spring is really coming back and this is so hobbit core. Also that is one of my two dogs. That's Astro.
(Also I hate English ivy so much and I have to fight it back every year 😭 it's so pretty yet so invasive)
What is a favorite fandom headcanon for you?
One of mine is that hobbits are immune to mushroom poison especially but poison in general too.
*Asks are sent for fun, no pressure to answer within a certain amount of time or at all.*
It's a common one, but it would have to be that Hobbits are children of Yavanna. I adore the idea, and it fits so well, even if it's not true. My second favorite is that Dwarves invented fireworks.
Do you like to shop at yard/garage/tag/rummage/bin/boot sales? If so what's one of your favorite things you've found? Personally a favorite find of mine is vintage glass ornaments.
This is ask is meant to be fun, no pressure.
I shop at yard sales, but I'm picky about what I buy. My favorite find has to be in near-mint condition. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Board Game still in the plastic. It was released after the first Hobbit movie but didn't sell well, so there was never another run.
I collect Hobbit merch and memorabilia, and yard sales are good places to find a lot of that stuff. People sometimes have no clue what they're giving away. Unfortunately, the quality of yard sales has decreased significantly in the last few years.
