Flask vs Django: Delving into Features, Ecosystem, and Community Support
Flask and Django are two popular Python web frameworks that offer developers powerful tools for building web applications. While both frameworks are widely used in the development community, they have distinct features, ecosystems, and levels of community support. In this article, we will delve into the features, ecosystem, and community support of Flask and Django to help you understand their differences and choose the right framework for your project.
Features:
Flask:
Flask is a lightweight and minimalist web framework known for its simplicity and flexibility. Some key features of Flask include:
Minimalistic Design: Flask follows a micro-framework approach, providing developers with only the essential tools for web development.
Extensibility: Flask allows developers to extend its functionality with various extensions and third-party libraries, enabling them to add features as needed.
URL Routing: Flask provides a simple and intuitive mechanism for defining URL routes and mapping them to view functions.
Jinja2 Templating: Flask comes with built-in support for the Jinja2 templating engine, allowing developers to create dynamic HTML templates easily.
Built-in Development Server: Flask includes a built-in development server for testing and debugging applications locally.
Django:
Django is a full-stack web framework that follows the "batteries included" philosophy, providing developers with a comprehensive set of built-in features and tools. Some key features of Django include:
Admin Interface: Django includes a powerful admin interface that allows developers to manage site content, users, and permissions out of the box.
ORM (Object-Relational Mapping): Django's ORM simplifies database interactions by abstracting away SQL queries and providing a high-level API for working with database models.
Authentication and Authorization: Django provides built-in support for user authentication, session management, and role-based access control.
Form Handling: Django's form handling capabilities make it easy to validate and process user input, reducing the complexity of form handling in web applications.
Built-in Security Features: Django includes built-in security features such as protection against common web vulnerabilities like CSRF (Cross-Site Request Forgery) and XSS (Cross-Site Scripting) attacks.
Ecosystem:
Flask:
Flask has a vibrant ecosystem with a wide range of extensions and third-party libraries that extend its functionality. Some popular Flask extensions include Flask-SQLAlchemy for database integration, Flask-RESTful for building RESTful APIs, Flask-WTF for form handling, and Flask-Login for user authentication.
Django:
Django's ecosystem is highly mature and extensive, with a vast array of reusable components, packages, and plugins available. The Django Packages website lists thousands of third-party packages categorized by functionality, including authentication, content management, e-commerce, and more. Some popular Django packages include Django REST Framework for building APIs, Django CMS for content management, and Django-allauth for authentication and social login integration.
Community Support:
Flask:
The Flask community is active and supportive, with a large number of developers contributing to the framework's development and maintenance. Flask has a dedicated website (https://flask.palletsprojects.com/) with comprehensive documentation, tutorials, and community forums where developers can seek help and share their knowledge.
Django:
Django boasts a thriving community with a wealth of resources and support available to developers. The official Django website (https://www.djangoproject.com/) provides extensive documentation, tutorials, and a community forum where developers can ask questions, share their experiences, and collaborate on projects. Additionally, DjangoCon, the annual conference for Django developers, brings together enthusiasts from around the world to learn, network, and contribute to the framework's growth.
Conclusion:
Flask and Django are both powerful web frameworks with unique features, ecosystems, and levels of community support. Flask's minimalist design and flexibility make it ideal for small to medium-sized projects or projects that require a high degree of customization. On the other hand, Django's comprehensive set of built-in features and mature ecosystem make it well-suited for rapid development and large-scale applications. By understanding the features, ecosystem, and community support of Flask and Django, developers can make an informed decision and choose the framework that best fits their project requirements and development preferences.

"Do you know what hydrogen peroxide is for, Sherry?"
"Um, when you get hurt, you can put it on to protect yourself." Sherry shifts in her seat, pushing her legs under her to give her an extra edge of height so she can see the table better. These chairs were made for adults. She kind of wishes she had a big pillow under it.
"That's right," Wesker confirms. She feels pride swell within her at the confirmation. "But it has other applications, too," he swiftly adds.
"Oh." At least she knew one. How did scientists remember them all, all of the time?
Wesker sets out the flask of peroxide far from the cage of the rat, something he repositions a little further away - seeing Sherry's eyes roam to it - and leans to the right to grab a small plastic cup. "What's your favorite color?"
Sherry thinks about it for a minute, punctuating it with a 'hmmmmmmm', and then she nods. "I thinkkkkk... I like yellow. Why?"
"You'll see," he responds, getting a dropper no bigger than the side of her pinky. "Three droplets of tartrazine." He squeezes the end of it, letting just three small drops descend from the tip into the flask he'd set up.
Splish, splosh, splash!
Sherry watches closely as it swirls into the hydrogen peroxide in the flask. It curls and plumes, slowly spreading like ink or paint in water. She liked when paint did that. "What's tartrazine?" Then, Wesker offers her a tiny coffee stick, which she takes without reservation.
"It's called yellow food dye. In your food, it's yellow five." He says matter-of-factly. Then, he gentles, "Why don't you stir that for me?"
"Okay," she chirps, nodding, leaning forward a little to mix what's in the flask at Wesker's request, trying to make sure she doesn't mess up whatever it is he's making, even if she doesn't quite understand yet what it is. The liquid within the flask turns a bright, transparent yellow after a few rotations, and she leans back again, pulling the coffee stick out. "What's your favorite color?"
"Hm..." Wesker adjusts his shades, contemplating exaggeratedly. He hadn't expected it, but there was no price to honesty - except maybe that Birkin would return tomorrow with a scribble of a yellow-haired stickman with a colored shirt. And shades. This is acceptable, he thinks. "Red," he responds decisively.
Sherry nods emphatically. "I like that one, too." It's a good choice - their colors would make orange! Maybe she'll give him yellow pants and a red shirt when she draws later. Or maybe... maybe she'll give him an orange shirt. Now that would be novel.
"Now... Sherry, observe," Wesker says, and she refocuses her attention.
Wesker takes the cup, pouring potassium iodide to the 10 milliliter mark, and brings it up to the flask. He turns to her a little. "Are you ready?"
"Yeah!"
Wesker turns back and pours it in in one swift motion, then yanks his - and Sherry's - hands away. The solution bubbles swiftly, then switches to angrily, and Sherry gasps with surprise as it shoots lemon-scented foam up from itself and all around its' base. It continues for about thirty seconds, during which she giggles and claps. "Wow!"
Thank you for blessing me with the sweetest short story in the world. I believe things like this are very healing for the both of them
#but like also thank u personally 4 sending that in my inbox#Iâve been thinking abt it all day#and it made my day a lot less poopy#<3#resident evil#albert wesker#Sherry birkin#silnaarttag#thank you!! <3

Daylight - Ben Chilwell
A/N: phewwwww this one's a big one!!!!! this is definitely going to be a series and i can't wait to get the next one written
Wordcount: 3.1k (she a big gorl)
If there was one thing in life that you could be certain of, it would be that you loved your routine. Doing shift work probably wasnât what most people would associate with a routine, but your shifts were regular enough that you had your own little routine that you went through every week.
You woke up. You went to work. You worked out. You went home. You made dinner. You lounged in bed watching Below Deck or Selling Sunset or some other variation of trashy yet entertaining TV. You showered. You scrolled on TikTok (and sent a few funny videos to your friends). You went to bed. Repeat the next day.
You would insert a little day trip somewhere or a meet up with friends when applicable, but for the most part, you had your routine and you stuck with it.
All of that changed, however, when a certain footballer made his way into your life.
It was a Thursday. You remember it was a Thursday, because your favourite regular wasnât in - she didnât come in on Thursdays as she volunteered at a food bank every week. So you mooched around, made small talk with colleagues and made your little coffees, trying to improve your latte art. So far, youâd managed a heart, a flower, and some sort of questionable circular formation of foam that you swore looked like a dog if you looked at it the right way while squinting. Your colleague, Kendall, who was probably your closest friend at the coffee shop, was laughing when the aforementioned footballer strode his way into the coffee shop.
You noticed straightaway that he was new. Your coffee shop was small, boutique and tucked away in a corner of Cobham you really had to look for it. The majority of customers came from word of mouth, having been recommended a panini or muffin by a friend. It was no Starbucks or Costa, but all your colleagues swore that it was the best coffee in town (you couldnât really tell, as you didnât drink coffee). The second thing you noticed was that he was cute. Oh, god was he cute. He had a bit of scruff around his chin that made its way down a bit of his neck, rosy cheeks that suggested heâd been out for a run, and when he made eye contact with you, you saw the most piercing blue eyes youâd ever seen. You tried to ignore the way your heart thudded when you saw him.
âUh, hi,â the young man started. âWhatâs the best thing on the menu here? A mate recommended this shop to me, said the paninis were the best heâs ever had.â You opened and closed your mouth like a goldfish, struggling for words. Kendall had mysteriously disappeared to the back room, leaving you on the till by yourself.
âUm, probably the mozzarella and tomato panini. I have it most days on my break, so itâs probably lost a bit of the novelty for me. Itâs good, though.â He sauntered over to the display cabinet to have a look at the goods on offer. You tried not to stare at him, but you couldnât help but feel like you recognised him from somewhere.
âI will try one of those, please. Oh, and an Americano with hot milk, please.â You nodded and rang his order up on the till. He tapped his card on the card reader, which beeped to signify that the payment had gone through.
Your eyes travelled down to his clothes, and you noticed a familiar logo. Now, you didnât necessarily follow football, but most of the guys you worked with supported Chelsea Football Club (kind of a necessity, given the training grounds were just a mile or so away from the small town), and youâd seen the logo dozens of times on the water bottles or coffee flasks they brought in.
âNo worries, Iâll get those started for you.â And so, your routine of getting the food started. The coffee machine whirred in the background, while the steam wand sputtered into life to heat up the milk.
âItâs a nice place, how long have you worked here?â The manâs question took you by surprise. You tried not to let it show as you answered.
âAbout three years now. This job was initially to get me through uni, but I enjoy it and itâs easy, so I guess I just havenât left.â You put his panini into a takeaway box and passed him the cardboard coffee cup. âOh, hereâs a cup holder as itâs hot, donât want you burning yourself.â You nestled the coffee cup into the holder, before passing him a couple of napkins to take away with him.
âThanks. What did you study at uni?â
âI studied English literature with communications, ideally wanted to go into journalism or something but the job market is awful right now. I barely make enough to live on my own but I like the independence. Are you local?â If his question took you by surprise, yours to him definitely did. His eyebrows raised, before he seemed to check himself and recovered.
âOh, I grew up in Milton Keynes and worked up in Leicester for a bit. Moved down here a few years ago and love it.â Your head nodded towards his jacket with the Chelsea logo.
âWorking for the football club, I take it?â He smiled bashfully.
âActually Iâm a player for the first team. Got a game this weekend, but Iâm likely on the bench so I donât need to take the diet too seriously.â Your jaw dropped. You knew youâd seen him somewhere. âMy nameâs Ben, by the way, Ben Chilwell. Whatâs yours?â
âY/N. Great to meet you, Ben, be sure to come back soon, and good luck for the game.â He paused in the middle of putting his backpack on, and looked you straight in the eye.
âOh believe me, Y/N, Iâll definitely be coming back.â And with that, he smiled at you before strolling out of the coffee shop. You were momentarily frozen; did he mean coming back to have another coffee? Or to try another panini? What on earth just happened?
âGirl, you have to tell me what just happened between you and that cute footballer.â Kendallâs voice made you jump, as she reappeared from the back room.
âWhatâs that supposed to mean?â you responded, pretending to wipe the coffee machine steam wand. You didnât want to believe it, but you secretly hoped that he meant he was coming back to see you.
âItâs supposed to mean that the chemistry between you two was comparable to the chemistry between Glen Powell and Zoey Deutch in Set It Up. He didnât take a single bite of his panini so he had no idea how good it was, and he ordered the most basic coffee on the menu. And, he didnât take his eyes off you for more than a second while you were making the coffee. Furthermore, he made small talk with you. He is mega into you, trust me.â
âI make small talk with baristas and waitresses all the time! I bet he was just being friendly.â You and Kendall went back and forth a bit more, and then the lunch rush hit, so you couldnât really talk again. As you closed up the shop and drove home, though, you couldnât help but think⌠maybe Kendall was right?
----
The next couple of weeks came and went. Ben came in every now and then, and the two of you made further small talk and got to know each other more and more. Youâd taken the time the day you met him to stalk his Instagram profile. He was Chelseaâs vice-captain, loved dogs, family seemed important to him and he seemed to be incredibly valued by his teammates.
September turned to October. The leaves fell, the temperature dropped and the nights were rapidly drawing in. Pumpkin spice was back on the menu, which prompted a daily rush from the students in the area in the morning and mid-afternoon.
You didnât want to admit it, but you always looked at the door when the bell dinged to notify you that someone had entered the shop. Youâd finally admitted to yourself that in between you and Benâs getting to know each other, you had developed a little bit of a crush on him. His coffee was more often than not âon the houseâ, and you took a bit more time than needed to prep and make his panini. Heâd now gone through most of the options of the paninis, but he regularly returned to the mozzarella and tomato panini that youâd recommended - âit really is as good as you saidâ, heâd said on one occasion.
You opened up to each other about life, your stories, what brought him to Cobham, what countries you wanted to visit, his dream dog (âI love Oscar, but I would love a Bernese mountain dogâ), and all manner of other things. Kendall was sure that he liked you, but it had been nearly two months since he first came in, and he hadnât made the move to ask you out or even ask for your number.
You stuck to your routine. Work, gym, dinner, shower, bed. It hadnât wronged you once, and you were definitely starting to see the results of your gym sessions.
One morning, a particularly cold and windy November morning, you locked your car in the car park and walked briskly towards the coffee shop. Before you could reach it, however, a voice calling your name made you stop.
âY/N! Y/N!â You turned around, and nearly crashed straight intoâŚ
âBen! Hi, how are you? How did the last game go?â Ben looked - ugh - particularly gorgeous this morning. His hair had grown, heâd trimmed his stubble, his cheeks were as rosy as ever and his dimples were on full show as he smiled warmly at you.
âIâm good, thanks, yeah the game was alright. Weâre getting there.â You nodded; you couldnât say you watched games, but youâd watched a couple of highlight videos on YouTube and could potentially be persuaded to watch a game. Your personal favourite video was Chelseaâs Champions League win. Ben had clearly played magnificently, having stopped several goals from materialising. âHow, um, how are you?â You nodded and returned his smile.
âIâm good, just on my way to open up.â You were struck with a sudden idea. âIf youâre not in a rush to get anywhere, you could wait for me to open and get the first coffee of the day?â He smiled.
âI donât have anywhere to be today. Lead the way.â
The two of you started to make your way to the coffee shop, making friendly conversation on the way. He told you that he was being rested for the weekend, so he was training but wasnât on the team for the weekend.
âItâs frustrating, but I know Iâm still not quite full fitness just yet,â heâd admitted.
âFull fitness? Why, what happened?â You asked, curious. He ran a hand through his windswept hair.
âI was tackled by a Juventus player back in November of 2021. It was a bad tackle, and it tore my ACL, and Iâve struggled with injuries since then. Hamstring, calf, knee⌠itâs been never ending. I try to tell myself that Iâm still a good footballer, itâs just a shame that Iâve been plagued by injury, but still⌠Iâm vice captain and Iâve had barely any minutes this season.â
You were quiet as he basically vented to you.
âOh Ben, Iâm sorry to hear that. That sounds awful. How is your knee now?â He sighed.
âItâs okay. I get regular physio and scans, to keep track of progress. Iâm just scared it will happen again, I guess. Itâs a miracle Iâve come back to playing at all, a lot of players suffer so much damage they can never play again. It was scary for a while, I didnât know whether Iâd be playing again.â You let him vent. You were never one of many words, but all your friends and colleagues said that you were one of the best listeners they knew, and this was something that Ben noticed straightaway. The way you just let him talk, even though you barely knew him, and showed genuine empathy and concern in his injury⌠it made him even more sure that he wanted to get to know you more, wanted to get to the bottom of who you were.
The two of you chatted more, and before long, youâd reached the coffee shop.
âTake a seat, Iâll get things set up and bring you out a coffee. Did you want a panini?â Your offer was simply too much for him to ignore, and he took a gentle hold of your arm as you made to walk away. âWhy donât you make two and have breakfast with me?â Your breath hitched in your throat. Was he really asking what you thought he was asking?Â
You had to replay what he said to you a couple times in your head to assure yourself that you werenât hallucinating. âUh, yeah, sure that sounds great. I do need to get things done, like checks and thingsâŚâ
âI wonât keep you long, I promise. I just want to get to know you better.â Despite the cold temperature (the heating hadnât come on yet), your heart melted and your cheeks flushed. After making sure that everything in the shop was ready (in record time, you took heart in noticing), you prepared Benâs usual panini and rang through a muffin for yourself. You had about an hour before the shop opened, and you were determined to make the most of it.
Ben sat down at a table close to the window, with you following shortly after.
âIâve been meaning to ask - how did you find this place? Weâre hardly a major chain or on the main street.â Ben took a sip of his coffee and smiled fondly.
âDo you know Mason Mount?â You shook your head, feeling slightly guilty for your football ignorance showing itself once again. âWell, he used to play for Chelsea, heâs up in Manchester now, but he used to come here regularly. Hereâs a picture.â He opened up Instagram and showed you a picture of Mason, and your jaw dropped immediately.
âOh! Him! He was always so lovely, he was here all the time. I had no idea he was a footballer! He never came across as one.â You realised immediately what youâd said, and internally face-palmed, hoping that Ben hadnât caught on. Unfortunately, he had.
âAnd whatâs that supposed to mean?â His face was lit up with a bright smile as he teased you. You were sure that your cheeks were a vibrant red.
âWell - I - um⌠that didnât come out well at all⌠if itâs any consolation you didnât come across as a footballer at all⌠itâs just⌠when I think of footballers I donât necessarily think of lovely polite young men who always say please and thank you.â
Ben wiggled his eyebrows.
âSo Iâm a lovely young man then?â He teased further, gently knocking your foot with his. You both dissolved into giggles; you couldnât help it. Ben was sweet, curious and just downright funny.
âYes, you are a very lovely young man.â Your eyes met his, and you knew then and there that this was the man for you.
Although youâd had your routine in life, it had always felt dull. Grey. Cloudy. Being around Ben, it felt like the clouds had parted and you were seeing in colour for the first time. It was comparable to that first fine sunny day after a long winter. You and Ben chatted back and forth for the next hour, finding out things about each other; favourite songs (his was Donât Stop Me Now by Queen), favourite artists (yours was Niall Horan), biggest fears (his: not being good enough for Chelsea, yours: bridges, which prompted a teasingly heated discussion which ended in you showing the videos of the Baltimore bridge collapsing and how it had given you nightmares).
The clock showed 9:55, which meant you had five minutes to open the coffee shop.
âI should get my apron on and get this party started,â you sighed, getting up from your chair. Ben jumped up to stand next to you.
âThank you for sitting with me, I had a lot of fun.â He smiled that beautiful dimpled smile of his.
âI did too.â He took a big breath. âAnd I would love to take you out for dinner sometime.â The world stopped turning for the briefest of moments, during which you made a mental note to send Kendall a message saying that she was right all along.
âI would like that a lot, Ben.â He fished his phone out of his pocket and handed it to you.
âIf I have your number Iâll message you the day and time. Dress nicely.â God, this man was just a walking green flag - planning the date, funny, in touch with his emotions?
You added yourself to his phone as a new contact, before giving his phone back to him. As you did so, your fingers brushed slightly. Electricity coursed through you; it was almost like being given an electric shock, but this felt much more pleasant. In a wild instant, your body craved more physical contact with him. What did hugging him feel like? What did kissing him feel like? If just one small touch felt like this, what would more feel like? You were desperate to feel more, but you knew you had to wait.
âIâll see you soon, Ben.â He swooped in and brushed the lightest of kisses on your cheek.
âYou too, Y/N.â And with that, he was gone. You watched him walk down the road towards his car, which you presumed was parked in the multi-storey car park down the road. Your phone buzzed with a message:
From: Unknown number Hey itâs Ben, Iâll message you details of our date later today :) just need to plan it ;)
You screenshotted it and sent the photo to Kendall.
To: Kennyâ¤ď¸ You were right all alongâŚ
From: Kennyâ¤ď¸ WTF DETAILS NOW!!!!
You shut your phone off, grinning. For the time being, you were going to keep the details to yourself. Kendall would know in time, of course, but you had a coffee shop to open and a routine to keep to.
For now, at least. You had a funny feeling that your routine was going to change very soon, and instead of feeling scared, you opened up the shop feeling at peace with the changes that would be happening in your life.

I was tagged by @pinessydr , thank you!!
@arnaerr poking you for tes oc facts but feel free to ignore
I want to talk about our with @buriedknight hero of Kvatch. cw gore mentioned
Please check out amazing pieces with her by buriedknight: one and two
- she is a vampire but she is disgusted by the thought of munching on someoneâs neck, so she usually pours blood from corpses into flask or other vessel to drink properly
- she is very afraid of Mehrunes Dagonâs wraith because of gameâs events so tried to win his favour, then gave up and decided to win over Molag Bal but got ghosted
- misses crisis of oblivion because inside the gates there is no sun and there are a lot of unguarded by law daedra to munch upon
- looks like the type any cyrodiil citizen can encounter on the side of an unguarded road: unpleasant trout which can kill over money. This did not get her any good points in hero and champion job applications (actually failed with champion one because of this)
- is a very good actor but almost never uses her skill (she is not playing murderous trout, itâs her natural look)
- Martin is something like adopted son for her, she is something like pet dog for him
- does not feel anything about the act of murder / violence itself but enjoys seeing herself performing well at fighting and killing
- is very sad about death of Uriel Septim because she thought she had a chance of becoming his mistress

under the weather | izuku x reader
The rain pattered against the windows of the run down, yet homely library. It followed a slow rhythm of a heavy downpour to soft sprinkles, fortissimo, pianissimo. It's as if it was taunting you for being unaware of its coming. From the morning you woke up, the sky was clear of any aggressions. But now that you were occupied in a book at the library, in the afternoon, of course, the dark clouds had to poke their heads out. The chances of precipitation were pretty low, according to your weather application, and highly unexpected. So where was this coming from?
The leaves fluttered and flicked as raindrops fell onto them. The branches wavered along, swaying as the cold winds sifted through. They shivered. Even the trees weren't expecting gloomy weather. You sighed, turning back to the words in your book. The thought of how you would get home pondered in mind. After all, you didn't even have an umbrella at hand. You sighed once, more irritation shown than the last. An unfortunate predicament you were in. But at least the ambiance was relaxing. Alone in a quiet library, reading a book on a cushioned chair right next to a full window, an expansive view of the outside world.
All you needed now was a nice hot cup of tea as the cherry on top.
You decided to wait out the rain, but there was never once in a moment where the rain ceased to fall. The rain drummed on the roof, more violently than it did throughout the earlier hours. They splattered against the windows as blood from a massacre. Soon enough, the library announced its 5-minute mark for closing at around 4:53 and you took this as an opportunity to check the lost and found for any umbrellas. And to your surprise, there wasn't a single one. All that there was available was a sad dented flask bottle and two large coats. Although a coat could harbor cover overhead, there was no way you were going to use somebodyâs soiled clothing. You settled with using your own sweater, though it wasnât water-resistant, itâd just have to do. You stood at the entrance of the library, watching the ripples flow through the streams of puddles on the street.
âHave a good day,â the librarian chimed, as if it wasnât pouring right in front of her eyes, not moving an inch from her book. âA nice day, huh.â As soon as you pushed open the double glass doors, you were immediately hit by the piercing winds of the storm and it was even more brutal as you unzipped your jacket. You took a deep breath before holding your jacket over your head, stepping out into the pouring rain, and immediately felt your sweater become drenched. Canât back out now. You continued down the sidewalk, enduring the wander back to the comfort of your home, raindrops relentlessly following after you.
Soaked, cold, and numbing. Goosebumps formed all over your arm, hairs standing tall in response to the frigid air. Your socks were immersed and your shoes squished with water with each expeditious step. Your shirt and jeans stuck to your body uncomfortably. You tried peeling them off but they always came back to sticking to your skin. How you wished to be home, watching the rain through a window with a hot cup of tea in hand. How you irritably wished your weather app didnât scam you out of a bright and sunny day.
In the distance, a vehicle quickly came heading down your way, sending gusts of water through the air. You frowned. You were already deluged enough and you werenât in the mood to be doused in dirty puddle water. But, itâs not like you could shield yourself from it, not with a dripping-wet sweater. As the vehicle neared closer, you shut your eyes tightly and turned to the side a bit in preparedness for the impact. The sounds of water splashing through the air followed by the grumbling of the vehicle engine passed, but to your surprise, you didnât feel anything. In fact, you didnât feel the raindrops at all??
You looked up and caught glimpse of these black tendrils of fortifying matter completely covering you overhead. You turned and were faced with the back of a strengthy guy in a thick green jacket.
"Are you okay?" The guy asked, his voice low, but reassuring. You didn't say anything, as you were still processing the event that just took place. Just who is this guy? Where did he come from? Your heart raced with anxiousness.
After no response, he turned back to look at you and his eyes widened in disbelief. "Ah!" His eyes scanned you up and down at your soakened state. "You're going to get sick if you're out walking like this!" He quickly slid off his jacket, swinging it around your back and wrapping it around your shoulders, leaving him in his shirt that comically read "t-shirt". You could feel the warmth radiating from his body as he leaned toward you. As cold and helpless as you were feeling, you longed to just collapse in his arms and let him carry you wherever he pleased. The exhuast caught up with you as you shivered in his jacket. You cursed at yourself. You must've looked pretty stupid and vulnerable to be walking in the rain like that. What idiot wouldn't of just stayed inside the shelter of the library.
"...I'm sorry..." you breathed, struggling to lift up your head to face him, due to the embarrassment of being cared for like this or the fatigue, maybe even a bit of both. Your sweater dripped from your hands into the sidewalk beneath.
âDonât beâŚâ the boy replied, smoothing down his jacket over your arms. He peered down the road for a moment to think about what to say next. It was unusual for a girl to be walking alone in the rain like this, less yet without an umbrella, soaking wet. ââŚso where are you headed?â
âHome,â you replied almost too quickly. The want to just collapse in your bed and sleep the rest of the day was inflaming.
âThatâsâŚâ He looked down the road once more and up at the sky. It was clouded with dark grey nimbostratus and rainfall was still present. âThatâs pretty far.â
Dizziness began to envelop your head and suddenly, you really did feel like you were going to collapse, but your strong will to get home kept your consciousness alive. Your body wavered and muscles ached. The boy noticed as you unnaturally swayed a bit and offered you a carry to your home.
âItâs okay, Iâll be fine. Iâm almost home anyway,â you replied, clutching his jacket and handing it back to him. There was a moment where you both held onto the jacket together as he gazed at you in worry and regard. And you, as well, gazed at him with gratitude and fulfillment.
âAre you sure? I mean, you could stay at my place if-â
âNo, no, itâs f-â You caught yourself from falling over, as you felt fairly unsteady. Perspiration also began to form all over yourself, despite the fact that you were still wet from the rain. âItâs fine, tha-thank youâŚâ He stared at you in dismay. Clearly, you werenât feeling okay as of now, and you definitely werenât going to make it home in this state.
âPleaseâŚfor your sake, miss, please come stay at my apartment, just until tomorrow-â
âNo!⌠I canât IâŚâ At his point, you struggled to even stand up on your own, fading in and out of consciousness. Your steps were uncoordinated as you tried to walk away from the boy. He grabbed your hand to stop you from stepping out from under the protective tendrils and you turned around, mixed feelings of wanting to come with him and wanting to get away. You know you said that youâd paste the responsibility of yourself onto him, but now that it came down to it, this was a complete stranger. âI donât even know you! IâŚâ Your eyes fluttered shut as your body gave out and abruptly fell into his arms. Your skin was burning hot compared to his. He pushed the crown of your hair back, tucked your strands of wet hair behind your ears, and gently rested the back of his hand against your forehead.
You had a raging fever.
Without hesitation, he pushed off into the air with you cradled in his arms, the main objective of getting you somewhere, probably his apartment, warm and dry and away from the horrible cold of the storm.
.
The stirring sounds of a heater system slowly woke you out of deep slumber. The darkness of the night fogged up the room you rested in, yet you could tell that everything around you was so unfamiliar. The scent of the cozy bed you lay in, arrangement of furniture, the odd plushie that breathed calmly at the edge of the bed...wait a minute. Your eyes dilated, adjusting to the darkness, when you suddenly jumped, seeing this so called plushie was actually the same boy from earlier. He sat on his knees, resting his head on his arms along the side of the bed. You shrunk into the corner, gripping the blankets close to you as if to create a shield from him. Millions of thoughts began to imvade your mind, but figuring out a way to get out of there remained at the focal point. You scanned, looking for any possible way of exit and ended up with two outcomes: the shuttered window and the bedroom door. You sighed. How annoying. From a library, to a strangers home. Ugh. Your clothes were still wet from the rain and scrunched up against you. The spot where you lay on bed itself was a bit soaked as well and you frowned. Slowly, you set down the blankets and gently crawl off of the bed, watching for any alarming movements from the sleeping boy, until the bed creaked rather loudly. Instinctually, you collapse on the bed, shutting your eyes tightly as the boy is woken out of slumber. He yawns and rubs his eyes, then they land on your figure. He chuckles softly, sleep tugging at his voice.
"...you're awake aren't you.." It's more of a statement than a question. Your body remained as still as the black fog of night that obscured the vision of you and him. "...you should probably shower. It must be uncomfortable in those soaked clothes. I know it's an ungodly hour right now, but still...I can lend you some of my clothes..? Oh! And after, I cooked some vegetable soup after I brought you here, but you were really broken down and I didn't want to wake you up, so if you're strong enough, I can warm it up for you if you'd like.."
"I'm sorry, but I don't know you and I don't think I should be here. Thank you for your help, but I think it's be best for me to get going," you said, sitting up on the bed and facing him. He was now standing at the original spot he rested.
"I...but, it's still raining out, miss-"
"I can see that. Just give me an umbrella and I'll be on my way, thank you."
"...okay." And with that, he left the room in silence. You huffed and fell back on his bed and stared upon the popcorn ceiling. As sweet and welcoming as the guy seemed, a stranger's a stranger, no matter how good they percieve...yet there was something about him so refreshing, flourishing. Ugh. You stand up from the bed and decide to look around for a bit, just after clicking on the lamp on the side table.
And oh my, this guy was a nerd.
You chuckled. Almost everywhere you looked stood a piece of previous number one hero, All Might's merchandise, that and couple of other heroes. In the corner by a bookshelf sat a few dumbbells, a hand grip, and other weight trinkets. On his desk were multiple campus notebooks. Out of curiosity, you flipped through them and damn were they all filled with abilities, strategies, quirks, and hero related information. You smile, noticing a small framed photograph on his desk of little him in an All Might suit and his mom. Oh, how the sweetest little details could suck you up. And then you wondered, why would someone ever pick up stranger off the streets? From his perspective you were unknown as well so...? That's where your dilemma satâbetween a kind soul or wicked intentions, although he didn't seem like the type. Before resuming your tour, the guy shuffled back into the room with a black umbrella and plastic bag hanging from his fingers. You turn around, and with the lamp light illuminating the room, finally getting a good look at him. His green disheveled hair, curious emerald eyes and...he was frowning. Not that you cared, but it felt off that he was, as if it didn't fit him.
"I have the umbrella," he says, walking over and handing it to you, along with the bag. "Here. And this is a fresh jacket." He motions to the bag.
"Thank you, but I only need the umbre-"
"Take it, please," he replied quickly, gently pushing your hand clutching the bag. "I'll see you out."
You followed him. It's not like you wanted to be in the rain, you just couldn't stay in an unknown place. But then again, he seemed like a nice guy. He places his hand on the doorknob and opens the door a crack, the cold air and droplets of rain swiftly piercing through. He turns to you with a concerning expression.
"Really, miss, do you want to leave this badly? The storm is still pretty harsh."
"Yes," you answer, grabbing the edge of the door and widening it, stepping out into the world, immediately regretting it. Sick was building up in your throat and you coughed violently.
"Change your mind, miss?" He grins playfully with his arms crossed over his chest, standing in the warmth and shelter of his apartment. You looked up to the sky for a moment letting your skin soak up the rain and back to the guy at the doorframe. You sigh, rolling your eyes at his win. He allows space as you step back inside and closes the door behind you.
"Actually, maybe I will have a bowl of that soup...but right after that, I'll be out the door and you'll never see me again."

cont with @tyliocellier from: Here
Looking at him with sidelong, even more so now that she was incapacitated, the fact that he didn't seem eager to attack her seemed to be helping him some, though. Whimpering a little as her attempt to scurry backwards as he got closer only brought on a fresh sting of pain, his gestures making her pausing almost mid motion. Was he trying to communicate with her?
She could understand so many of the animal calls around her, when the crows were angry or the deer startled, but this man's noises were so foreign and yet so utterly transfixing. Eyes flicking from him to her wound and then back again as her brain started to slot together the pieces. Was he concerned about her?
Reaching down for a piece of the faded old fabric that made up her clothing, though most of it now seemed to be decorative patches for the hand cured hides, she tore it free and then started to dig in a leather pouch tied to a rope on her waist and hidden beneath the expanse of her cloak, and then a wooden flask, and then a small wooden bowl with a notch that made it able to be hung as well.
In the bowl she poured some of the dried herbs from the first bag, and then a little water from the flask and mixed it all together. Pouring a small bit more of the water to clean the would away, she immediately smeared it full with the poultice, tying the fabric as tightly around it and finally letting out the small unstoppable sound of discomfort that came with it. The pain was bad now and she could feel the colour draining from her face.
Breathing a little harder from the effort it took to bite back her pain at the application, and hands a little shakier as she drank back the rest of the water, She held out the flask to him in question. Giving it a shake she flipped it over to show it was empty and gave it a little shake again.
Water?

Rook and their Partner Qs - Marilys and Emmrich
Having a bit of downtime in between writing fics (moving house, the last chapter of Homecoming will be posted tomorrow) so I thought I would roll one of the "Rook and their Partner" questions for Marilys and Emmrich:
17. What is your Rook's favorite thing about their partner? What is the partner's favorite thing about Rook?
For Rook, it's the hands. No but for real. The first time Rook sees Emmrich doing his magic, it unlocks something primal in them. Lust, because he's an exceptionally well groomed, silver fox of a Mourn Watcher with the magic touch. But something deeper too. His craft is something he's passionate about, its outward beauty a reflection of the care and attention he's devoted to it over the years. I think, within them somewhere, that's something Marilys craves - to be nurtured and cultivated and have their shine brought forth. Hadn't really thought about it that way before answering this question đ
For Emmrich, I think it's Rook's spark. I mean, this is a rogue who frequently tosses flasks left, right and centre which flame and shock, and they whirl around the battlefield in a blaze of necrotic fury. I expect they have many discussions about Rook's alchemy, and Emmrich would be keen I think for them to realise how special it is, and encourage them back towards formal study for the recognition it deserves and so they can develop even more new/novel techniques with proper resources. But greater than its application to any specific subject/discipline, Rook's spark burns a hole right through Emmrich's carefully cultivated exterior to who he is, inside. That's a certain kind of thrill, I think. Hard to fully put into words, but will explore more⌠đ¤

I did it! I finally finished this original tenth class idea :D. I have an eleventh and twelfth sitting in my drafts too but they need some more polishing.
More details about the class under the cut
An addition to the Supports
Description : The Acid Maker (Acid for short, similar to Pyro or Heavy) is a supportive class that focuses on making enemies more vulnerable to all types of damage. They do that by either throwing flasks or shooting glass bullets that explode on impact, coating a person or part of the surroundings in acid. To defend themselves in close combat, they wield a knife that can apply various substances. An explanation of the Acids weapons will be given in a later post.
Idea: The idea was to have a class that can aid the others to deal more damage. Inspired by other games, I settled on the concept of defense shredders. No class can do that in any sense, it would be a new addition to the gameplay.
It was quite important to me to make the class as playable as possible while retaining balance between all classes.
Pro's
- Useful to all classes
- Mid-Long range application of defense shred
- Variety in close combat (healing, damage over time (similar to a Pyros afterburn), raw damage, etc.)
- able to Spycheck
Con's
- low health
- standart speed
- lower damage output with main weapons (flask and bullets)
- accidental revealing of own Spies
I will make an extra post about the backstory and information on my Acid OC Viktor Schneider (who is depicted above) and the others that still wait to be finished ;3

(How I imagine the new lab)

(How I imagine the clinic section at the front of the lab -couldnât find credits for either)
You've dedicated over 3 years to the Academy, focusing your expertise on the biological sciences housed in the east wing. Although your background is in Pharmacy, you've embraced herbology to broaden your knowledge. Not only have you delved into the study of plants and their medicinal applications, but you've also become the driving force behind the flourishing herbology clinic.
As time has passed, your natural remedies have gained remarkable popularity, causing your clinic's demand to outgrow its initial, confined space. Hermendinger, your unwavering supporter in establishing the herbology clinic, keenly observed this expansion. Together with the council, he recognized your significant contributions, evident in the substantial revenue you've generated for the academy, second only to the pharmacy in the west wing of the academy.
Recognising your potential and the need for more space, the decision was made to provide you with a considerably larger area to operate your clinic. This shift to the north wing signifies the Academy's investment in your expertise, granting you the canvas to magnify your studies and elevate your herbology clinic to new heights.
You crossed paths with him âViktor. He strode gracefully through the hall, his imposing form exuding confidence, his lush, chocolate hair swept back, framing his sharp features. His presence was unmatched, the rhythmic click of his cane trailing behind him as he remained engrossed in the papers held tightly in his grip. Click, click, click. In that fleeting moment, he continued on, oblivious to your presence. With boxes in your hands, you carried on your journey, making your way towards the glass door that lay ahead -your gateway to a new clinic and research lab, ushering in a fresh chapter in your life.
Unveiling the array of equipment -flasks, beakers, pipettes, and burettes, you meticulously unpacked within the confines of your lab. Your tools sprawled haphazardly across the surfaces, testament to the meticulous work that lay ahead before your grand opening. Days turned into a whirlwind of activity, just shy of a week's time spent sorting, organizing, and setting up both your plant study equipment and the natural remedies you intended to offer. The final touch awaited completion â the new sign, a masterpiece crafted by the skilled hands of the handyman. Amidst this transition, you had the privilege of meeting a multitude of new faces you hadn't encountered before. The wing you now called home specialized in engineering and experimental sciences, a vibrant tapestry of innovation and intellectual exploration. Among these new acquaintances was Jayce, who took it upon themselves to extend a warm welcome. It was Jayce who gave you more insight on Viktor, an introverted workaholic, reserved but with a kind and genuine heart.
Empowered by Jayce's insight, you mustered the courage to break the ice. As dusk settled in, and the lab doors were left ajar in anticipation of Jayce's return to close up, you seized the chance to observe Viktor. His absorption in his work was evident, his focus absolute as he remained oblivious to the world around him, including your discreet presence.
Over time, your late nights at the lab unveiled an intriguing pattern â the faint click of Viktor's walking stick at precisely 11 pm, marking his departure for the day. Today marked a turning point, the day you would take that leap and talk to him, setting in motion an unconventional relationship that would undoubtedly shape the chapters of your journey ahead.
As the clock struck 11 pm, you found yourself outside Viktor's lab, heart racing with a mix of anticipation and nervousness. Tonight was the night you had decided to introduce yourself and hopefully initiate a connection with the enigmatic man who had piqued your curiosity.
Summoning your courage, you approached Viktor just as he was preparing to leave. "Hi there, I'm (y/n)," you began, a friendly smile on your face.
Viktor looked up, his initially guarded expression shifting into one of pleasant surprise. "Ah, nice to meet you, (y/n). I'm Viktor," he responded, extending a hand for a handshake.
"Likewise," you replied, relieved by his warm reception. "I've been working in the new herbology clinic and research lab down the hall."
Viktor's eyebrows raised slightly. "Oh, the herbology clinic? That's interesting. Quite a departure from the engineering and experimental sciences around here."
You nodded, encouraged by his interest. "Yes, I've been focusing on natural remedies and plant studies. It's been a great journey so far."
The mood shifted suddenly. "So, you're the one who's going to run the herbology clinic?" Viktor's tone had turned notably colder, his eyes searching yours with an intensity that took you aback.
"Yes, that's right," you responded cautiously, unsure of the shift in his demeanor. "I'm excited about the opportunity."
Viktor's expression tightened, and a sarcastic smirk crept onto his lips. "Of course you are. Running a clinic based on nature's wonders. Quite the departure from my realm of rigorous experimentation, isn't it?"
You felt a pang of hurt and confusion at his sudden change in attitude. "I believe there's value in both approaches," you tried to explain, but the words seemed to fall on deaf ears.
Viktor's cold gaze lingered for a moment longer before he abruptly turned, his tone dripping with condescension. "Well, I hope your herbs work wonders, (y/n). Enjoy your venture." And with that, he walked away, his steps echoing down the hallway.
Left standing there, you were stunned by the abrupt shift in his demeanor. What had caused this sudden change? The questions whirled in your mind as you watched him disappear around the corner, feeling a mixture of hurt, confusion, and determination to understand what had just transpired.

Quirk expansions for fire fist? (Evolution, gear, hero names, etc)
Hello Quirkwizard. Could you please give any expansions for the Quirk "Hook In" ?
Quirk expansion and evolutions for red Draught? It would be awesome if you could do potential equipment and gear for the quirk as well as ways it can be trained and improved or used like any other applications and such or ways it can evolve or improve. You are amazing and thank you!
Doing these together since there isn't a lot to expand on them on their own. They're all really basic.
Starting with "Red Draught", it needs the user to dump all the liquid to once to increase the volume they can make at a time. I doubt it'd evolve to last longer or improve the overall healing. That and they need something like flasks of various sizes to hold it in, similar to the various levels of healing potions in videogames. Maybe they can hand out like sports drinks for other people training. Then with "Hook In", it would simply involve the user sitting down somewhere and practicing as much as they can with their hooks. It'd result in them just learning how to use their hooks better, such as letting them move other people or grab stuff without breaking it. And considering the hooks are already a massive pain, I think that user simply getting smarter and better with them is more then enough. Finally with "Fire Fist", all it needs is some basic arm training, like punching with weights on or taking boxing lessons, to help them properly apply their arms to shoot out the flames. This could let them punch better with their firing fists and improve their firepower, making them burn hotter, fly faster, and become bigger. Soon enough, the user is going to be launching them out like a machine gun with their hits.
