Hey there, sorry for the lack of posting, but I've got some nice things on the way, starting with this nice cover by 秋口勒! Choco (劉懷君) from the Kaohsiung band 霧虹 Fogbow. =D

The song was recorded by 范曉萱 Mavis Fan for her 1998 album Darling. A jazzy tune with several rhythm changes and lots of skillful guitar.

I'm not seeing any activity from Fogbow since last fall, but here is a song from their 2018 Exhausted single/ep. This is called 沈溺 (沉溺) Indulge:

 張宇翔 Yu-Hsiang Chang (Fish Chang)-Gtr/Synth, Jay Lin 林信樺-drums, 柯柔安 JouAn Ko-Bass, 秋口 (劉懷君)-Voc/Gtr. I think the song was written by Fish & Jay. Lyrics and credits back at YT.

The mysterious Mong Tong on KEXP! =D

We featured the band once before, a few years ago. This is the info I have, I think it is still correct:

Mong Tong 夢東  (“Eastern Dreams” in English) is a ‘sample-based psychedelic trio’ fr. Taipei started by brothers 洪御 Hom Yu-Bass/Synth/Program & Jiun Chi-Keys/Gtr in 2017. 3rd ‘unseen’ member is 仝 Tong-Sampler/Voc. (that might be a joke)

Their first LP “Mystery 秘神”,  is a psychedelic journey into Taiwanese folklore combined with the 80’s media obsession with the supernatural eastern occult.  2020 interview.  Both brothers are in Prairie WWWW / 落差草原 WWWW and Dope Purple.

Hom Yu is/was also in Mutation 突變異種, and Jiun Chi is/was also in Fogbow and PA66. 

Their most recent EP 銘 Epigraphy came out in March. 3 songs are included in this set. The performance was recorded at KEXP, in March and posted a couple of weeks ago. Very informative interview (in perfect English) at the end.

Listen/purchase: Cold by Fogbow

Kaohsiung band 霧虹 Fogbow just released their 2nd full album yesterday, posting the whole thing to both Bandcamp, Spotify and YouTube.  =D

Giving it a listen now– they’ve created a beautiful, atmospheric sound!   

Choco (劉懷君)-Voc/Gtr (solo: 秋口 勒!), 張宇翔 Yu-Hsiang Chang (Fish Chang)-Gtr/Synth, Jay Lin 林信樺-drums, 柯柔安 JouAn Ko-Bass

The album was album recorded/mixed/co-produced by Patrick Moore (方博) (from 少年白 Grey Youth, 淺堤 shallow levée).  All the songs were written by Fish or Fish & Jay.  All lyrics in Chinese except for the bonus track.

“Roam is the second album of Fogbow band. Since 2017 we released our first album: Bitter Setback, we were looking further to explore our passion and the deepest desire in our heart. We release our second album: Roam with our true love and our enthusiastic in music. There are more electric sounds and synthesizer's love in the album. A little bit calm and exploration are the most important thing in this album, enjoy it.”

霧虹 Fogbow just posted their full 2015 ep to their YouTube channel.  =D

This was recorded with their previous singer 洪雅靖 Mirror, who now is living in Japan.
