What to Look For in a Portable Electric Scooter
If you're looking for an electric scooter, there are several factors you need to take into account. First, you'll need to determine your budget. Next, you'll want to look at the features of different models. Finally, you'll need to understand the pros and cons of each model.
The most impressive feature of any Portable Electric Scooter is its range. A good number of electric scooters can travel up to 65 miles on a single charge. However, the amount of time it takes to charge a battery can vary.
While the battery may be the star of any scooter, it's the suspension system that keeps you from getting off-balance. Also, you should look for a scooter with a dual disc brake. These provide a lot of braking power in wet conditions.
Another feature of a portable electric scooter is its ease of use. Almost all of the models on this list come with a detachable lithium-ion battery. You'll be able to carry the battery in a backpack or a backpack-style bag.
Among the e-scooters on the market, the best foldable model is probably the Razor E-Go ET-300. This electric scooter is easy to ride and has a low ecological footprint. It is also one of the lightest on the market.
In the end, it's up to you to decide which electric scooter is right for you. Depending on your preferences and needs, you can find an excellent e-scooter that will get you where you need to go.

It's been over a year since I got my mobility scooter and longer since I got my cane. So... Mobility Aid Appreciation Post!
Put your own mobility aid appreciation in the notes, I would like to read!
Wheelchair edition:
I can go on fun adventures with friends, spontaneously as well!
I have gone to various parks, to get snacks, and the other day I scooted from university all the way to my friend's house! I went on the side of a small motorway which was a little bit terrifying but it was fun and I was safe.
I can get around campus so speedily. Well apart from that the accessible routes are a little backwards. But I can go fast to them and arrive before people ambling between classes.
Part of the reason is because people just jump out of my way when they see me coming. They move so fast to not be in my way, it is very funny.
Part 2 of that is that I can go through crowds quite easily. It's a little annoying bc people aren't expecting to look down to see people trying to move. But once they see me they move. And they tell other people to move.
People let me sit at the front of things. I got to sit right at the front of a convention panel and I was so near Kat Graham!!
People open doors for me.
I hardly ever have to wait in line for things, I get put in the front and get to skip the queue.
I can be out of the house for much, much longer.
I am way more patient about my friends wanting to take their time doing things and looking in shops because I don't have to stand, I can sit while they do that.
I have way more stamina for being hungry or cold or tired or sore because I can be sitting while experiencing those things.
The battery has only started Running Out one time and even then she did get me home.
It's helped with learning to drive a car because I am better at understanding the turning circle and how reversing while turning works.
I have gotten better at using my scooter! I am pretty good at maneuvering and judging her distance and stuff. I only bump into corners if I'm in a hurry and in my house ie not making an effort to not hit people's walls.
I've had interesting conversations with people who have come up to me to ask about getting one for a family member. This may be not a perk to some people! So keep that in mind. But I think it's also about my vibe, I usually give off the vibe of "you can come talk to me".
Cane edition:
People give up their seats for me. Especially on the train. If there are no seats, then the old women will squish together and then we all sit next to each other. People are really nice about giving me a seat.
I can climb stairs so much easier!
I haven't lost my balance or fallen or twisted my ankle once while using it.
I can lean on it when I get tired which means I can stay out for a bit longer.
I can use it to get up so so much more easily.
I have a built in fidget toy with the strap.
It folds up and so I can put it in my bag to have just in case.
I hurt my leg one time and boom I already had a mobility aid.
I can use it to walk when my tummy hurts and I can't stand up straight.
And to alleviate your fears, no one has asked me why I switch hands when I use it.
Reminder that it is fully allowed and okay to lie to people when they ask why you're using a mobility aid. You can also say, "It's really difficult to talk about."
Or a funny/brave response like "I didn't read the terms and conditions." and "none of your business".

"Never thought I'D be the one needing one, have I really gotten that big? Maybe human food wasn't a good idea after all..." The king of hell sighed as he sat atop a mobility scooter with the controls pressing against his folded belly and fat pad. His rump filling up the seat while his moobs laid spread out over his hanging stomach with an extra large soda shoved between his cleavage like a makeshift cup holder.

You reach out across him as you snuggle up, taking your usual place as the big spoon. Your hand travels across his wide stretch of backfat and find a roll. You jiggle the roll and feel the vibrations spread across his soft body. You keep reaching and soon your hand reaches his actual belly. You feel yourself sink into his soft flab as you try to reach his belly button, but soon give up. The distance has gotten too long for you. Instead you start feeling your way up to his chest. You cup as much as you can off his closest moob and search around for the nipple. When you find it you caress it gently and hear him moan softly in his slumber. He slumbers a lot these days, it's hard working living in such a massive body. You slide your hand across his massive chest and reach his face. The CPAP makes it hard to caress his chubby cheeks, but by now you know your way around all the straps and the tube. You remember well his first night with one, over 150 kg ago. It was his first major milestone, and also when you both first realised you were approaching a point of no return. There had been many milestones since, and now the big one was approaching, far beyond their initial goal, a goal they had both kept moving. It was only a matter of months now, maybe just weeks, until he would never leave this bed again. Every day it got a little harder. Every day you needed to help him a little bit more. It was nearly a year since last time he left the house. They had sold off his mobility scooter several months ago. As you lay there, feeling all the folds and rolls that had drowned out your once fit husband you felt a sense of nostalgia. It was like every inch of flab was made up of memories. Memories of meals, and snacks, of feedings and buffets. All saved and preserved on a body no longer fully capable of supporting itself. Your alarm clock goes off and you hear your husband grunt and shift. Time for midnight snacks.

One really cool unique mobility scooter option I learned about recently is Travelscoot! It's warranty protected for up to 350 pounds but there are lots of daily users over 500 pounds, and has several different options for short stature (or for kids) as well. The scooter itself weighs 30 pounds and folds into a duffel bag size carrier, so it can be lifted over curbs or up stairs, transported in small cars, brought on planes, etc. Has lots of add-on options. Definitely very expensive but for a mobility scooter and especially for one that's well-regarded with users in that weight range, really competitive price. Really cool option for people who are restricted in public spaces by short walking distance but want to have more options for participating or travel. And without figuring out transporting or storing a regular mobility scooter. It's not technically a medical device so there's no scenario where insurance covers it, but they're really awesome.
It looks a little scary, to be honest. When you're reliant on a mobility aid, you need a strong one that will take you where you need to go. I don't even like those little foldable powerchairs because they break too easy.

Calculating a 1:6 incline using pandas
And sharing my first attempt at an accessible short break.
Film photography disclaimer / confession: I did take my Pentax MV with a 36 exp roll of colour film. Am absolutely gutted as it was clearly loaded incorrectly - thankfully I did take a few - but not many - iPhone snaps so will be using these for this post. Onwards and sideways.
This is my first blog that addresses the subject of disability. I am a little nervous about sharing this — perhaps because I am still in denial that this is happening to me - but I have found similar blogs very helpful on a personal level. So, if for no other reason than it might help someone else, let’s give it a shot.
We travelled by train from Darlington up to Edinburgh, and the journey is now known as Hell on a Stick #1. I booked seats in Coach G, and whilst I was vaguely aware of an app called Passenger Assistance it didn’t occur to me to use it. I suppose like many in a similar position, I assumed that was for folks with poorer mobility. Forgetting I wasn’t exactly Tigger myself.
Our train was PACKED, as the previous train was cancelled. No seats, no help, and no Coach G. We finally ended up on random seats separated from each other (after standing for 30 minutes, a mighty dang long time for me these days). Can’t help but think that if I’d used the app, I would have at least had some help in finding seats. Or lived somewhere with a decent public transport system. Helsinki please.
We arrived tired and hangry in a wet drizzly Edinburgh about 20 mins walk away from the hotel.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At Leonardo Hotel, Haymarket. Very helpful staff, and gave the scooter a parking space to save the kerfuffle of getting it in and out of the lift to get to the room.
The staff at the Leonardo Hotel couldn’t have been more helpful, and let us park scooter downstairs in the lobby to save me the extra energy getting it in/out of the lift. It’s a folding travel scooter, it’s light for what it is, but it is still heavy (especially when it’s your muscles that are the broken bits).
Very silly pain levels at this point - thanks to the gawd-awful train journey. Thankfully we live in the middle of nowhere, so an hotel room Just Eat was enough of a novelty to masquerade as an evening’s entertainment. Just for the record, the hotel is a mere 5 minute walk away from a multiplex cinema with an Imax and 4D screenings…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Day two, Edinburgh Zoo.
Their website promised mobility scooter hire that was capable of tackling the very steep hills within the zoo, but when we got there they were out of order. My own wheels, an eFoldi Explorer, is apparently capable of a 1:6 incline. I don’t know what that is, but I can tell you it can reach the pandas but not the zebras.
Without it, I couldn’t have got much further than the gift shop. And the little kids we met en route absolutely loved it - perhaps because it is a bit odd looking. It’s not your average looking mobility scooter that’s for sho.
The zoo itself is BRILLIANT, well laid out, happy animals, awesome penguins. Good cafes. And once you are aware of the hills, great accessibility across the whole site. They have a little electric minibus to help folks up to the very top.
The following morning we attempted shopping, but it was just too kerfuffle-y, trying to navigate with Google Maps whilst driving a scooter, and herding two kids in-between tram tracks and bicycles. Especially as at that point we were carrying our luggage, having checked out of the hotel. Edinburgh is very hilly and fairly cobbly which has it’s own challenges, but on my own I think I would have stood a chance.
Time to find a swanky espresso…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Google Maps helped me find Mayvn Cafe on St George Street. Very swanky indeed, even just sitting in the cafe is an experience, with Scandi style decor, designer lighting and video art on the far wall. They are on Insta if you fancy a virtual snoop around:
@mayvncafe
Return journey = Hell on a Stick #2. Total carnage at Edinburgh Station as no trains were going south due to a signal problem at Morpeth. Absolutely nothing was moving, and after an hour of sitting on a stationary train we took the plunge and jumped ship to a train heading cross country to Carlisle, where my husband picked us up. And of course my car was still at Darlington, wonderful, so that was yet more hassle for the following day.
The main problem with nightmare return journeys is they kind of ‘undo’ all the good bits REEEEALLY quickly.
Therefore the next 24 hours went like this…
Jesus H Christ that was awful. OW with bells on. Not doing that again. I’m doomed to stay trapped in the house for ever and ever and ever and I’ll live off pizzas and get fat.
Sleep for 13 hours.
Open Expedia app and search for hotels in Osaka, Japan.
If I can get to Edinburgh, Japan will be a doddle, right…?
Peace out.

What are the benefits of a mobility scooter?
Portable Mobility Scooters are useful devices that enable the disabled to get around. They are lightweight, foldable, and can be stored in a small area. They are also suitable for use indoors and outdoors. Many of these devices are TSA and FDA-approved, so they can easily be transported.
Some portable mobility scooters are folding, while others are more solid and heavy-duty. This makes them perfect for travel. Most folding mobility scooters are three-wheelers, with the front two wheels located next to each other. These two wheels work as one to provide stability, but compact scooters may struggle to handle rough terrain.
The Elite Plus 3 has an omni-shock suspension and is perfect for people who need to navigate sharp corners. It also has Smart Turn Technology, which helps the user navigate tight turns. It has enough battery power to take a twelve-mile trip. It also features a USB port to charge its battery.
If you are a senior, it's essential that you make space for your portable mobility scooter in your home. If you only use it outdoors, it is an unnecessary waste of space. It's unlikely that you'll use the scooter every day - it may only be needed during visits or trips to visit family. A portable mobility scooter is easy to store under a bed or between a closet and a wall.
Before boarding an airline flight, make sure to check with the airline to determine their policies regarding mobility scooters. While you can take your scooter on a plane, you should check its size and battery size to ensure that you'll be able to safely carry it on board. It's not expensive to carry a mobility scooter on board.

Electric Mobility Scooter: Everything You Need To Know
Whether you’re looking for electric mobility scooter or electric wheelchair, there are a few things that you need to know before purchasing one. Mobility scooters and electric wheelchairs are designed to help people with limited mobility and their caregivers get around more easily and safely, so choosing the right one is crucial.
There are many different types of mobility scooters and electric wheelchairs on the market, each one better suited for particular conditions than others.
In this article, we'll discuss what makes these types of vehicles different from one another, how they work (and don't), how to choose the best option for your needs — including what types of features you should look for when shopping around — as well as some common questions about using them (like whether they're legal on sidewalks).
What do the different classes of mobility scooters mean?
There are three different classes of mobility scooters:
Class 3: These are the most powerful and have a top speed of 12 mph. They can be driven on the road, in addition to being able to travel in off-road areas such as parks and bike paths. Due to their high speeds, they are considered motor vehicles by law and require registration with your local DMV.
Class 2: These provide good performance for an affordable price, making them ideal for short commutes around town or longer trips when traveling outside city limits. Their maximum speed is 8 mph, but you can still use them on the road if you're over 18 years old and have held your driver's license for at least one year (in some states).
Class 1: Also known as "personal mobility devices," these devices come in at just under 6mph (or 9km/h) with a range of up to 8 miles (12 km). They do not require registration or insurance because they don't meet federal definition standards for motorized vehicles; however, if you drive one off-road then it must be insured against liability claims stemming from accidents incurred while operating it on public land like trails or sidewalks nearby private property where parking isn't allowed without permission from someone who lives there -- not just anyone who happens upon your travels through woods near where they live!
How much will an electric mobility scooter cost?
Electric mobility scooters can cost anywhere from $1,300 to $5,000. This range is largely dependent on the brand and features you want in your scooter. As with other types of mobility equipment, it's important to research the quality and reliability of the brands before purchasing one.
For example, a basic electric mobility scooter made by a low-quality brand may cost under $1,500 whereas a higher-end model from a reputable company might be closer to $4,000 or more.
Tumblr media
How do you maintain and store a mobility scooter properly?
It is important to store your folding mobility scooter in a dry location and out of direct sunlight. Moisture can damage the electrical system, or even rust the frame. If you have limited storage space, you may want to consider getting one with folding wheels so that it can be stored in a smaller space or on an indoor rack.
To keep your e-scooter looking great, wipe down any dirt or debris off of its surface regularly with a damp cloth - this will prevent grime from building up over time!
Be sure not to use window cleaners or other harsh chemicals - they could damage the finish on your mobility scooter's paint job over time (and make it look like crap).
Conclusion
All in all, we can say that the future of electric mobility scooter is bright. They're becoming more affordable and accessible, so you don't have to pay thousands of dollars up front. Plus they're easy to use and don't require a lot of maintenance or upkeep once they're set up properly!

my leg is still pretty broken and i’ve gotten pretty used to my 3 mobility aids so here’s my personal ranking
Crutches
Pros:
Relatively comfy to stand in place with (good armpit rest)
Good maneuverability, best of the three for small spaces
Not too hard to move quickly
Cons:
Falls over in 2 seconds when u put them down or lean them against stuff
Not great stability on all surfaces (i fell with them due to a tuft of hair on the ground) (i also have dirt and rocks right outside my house so using them to get to and from my car is a nightmare)
Gets really tiring really quickly
I can’t use my arms or hold much
Walker
Pros:
Great stability
Smooth movement
Folds into a car nicely
Stands upright on its own, acts as good tool to get up with
Can move pretty fast in one direction
Can hold a bit more while using it, plus u can hang tote bags on it to carry more
Cons:
Large, can be hard to move in tight places
Needs tennis balls for efficiency
Kinda hurts my hands (at least mine does)
Doesn’t offer much support for standing in place to break, so it gets tiring extremely quickly (free standing on one leg sucks)
Knee Scooter
Pros:
Pretty fun
Can go quite fast
Great support for standing in place, short breaks, or even sitting if ur daring
Best for longer distances like grocery runs for sure
Cons:
Personal issue, but i have a bad scrape on the same knee as my broken leg so it hurts me to use this
Can’t hang stuff on the handles, so u still can’t hold much while using
Turn radius is kinda ass, so the maneuverability is kinda low, not great in small spaces
Kinda leaves my broken leg just jutting out behind me so it gets hit on stuff sometimes
Can be annoying to transport
Bonus Round!
Just saying fuck it and hopping on one leg
Pros:
Practically none
Kinda fun, feels like a game
Cons:
Stops being fun very quickly
Oh fuck
Very tiring
Chance to fall increases with each hop
FINAL RANKING
Crutches - imperfect, but they let me rest, they’ve been here for me since day 1, and they’re what i use to get up and pee so 🫶🏼🫶🏼
Knee Scooter - it honestly is pretty fun to use and without it i wouldn’t be able to go to Target so shouts out
Walker - kinda mid and gets so tiring so fast to stand. thought it’d be more useful, but it can be nice to use for small stuff sometimes
Hopping - fuck that

You've heard about the CyberTruck. What about the CyberTrailer?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Imagine a world where RV parks are optional, not a necessity. That’s where the CyberTrailer comes in. Living Vehicle, the trailblazer in luxury electric trailers, has outdone itself with this cutting-edge RV. The CyberTrailer is inspired by Tesla’s CyberTruck and offers complete liberation from traditional utility connections, bringing luxury to the most remote corners of the world.GET SECURITY ALERTS, EXPERT TIPS – SIGN UP FOR KURT’S NEWSLETTER – THE CYBERGUY REPORT HEREThe CyberTrailer’s solar capabilities are pretty impressive. We’re talking up to 5KW of off-grid solar production, a level that’s unprecedented in the RV industry and rivals many home solar systems. The entire roof is a solar powerhouse covered in integrated panels. But here’s where it gets really clever: solar-tracking awnings that actually tilt toward the sun, maximizing energy capture throughout the day.HOW TO REMOVE YOUR PRIVATE DATA FROM THE INTERNETThe CyberTrailer isn’t just compatible with EVs like the F-150 Lightning, Rivian and the futuristic Tesla Cybertruck, it’s designed to complement them perfectly. In fact, the Cybertruck’s bold design served as inspiration for the CyberTrailer’s sleek aesthetics. But here’s the real bonus: this trailer can actually charge your electric tow vehicle. Say goodbye to range anxiety and hello to limitless adventures. As Living Vehicle’s CEO Matthew Hofmann puts it, “The CyberTrailer reduces range anxiety and makes off-grid travel with electric vehicles a reality.”THE BEST TRAVEL GEAR FOR 2024The CyberTrailer doesn’t put all its eggs in one basket. While solar power is the star of the show, a backup power generation system ensures you’re never left in the dark. This redundant power system keeps the battery pack charged even when solar exposure is limited, supporting rapid energy creation and Level 2 charging for tow vehicles.DISCOVER THE FUTURE OF RVING WITH THE ELECTRIC TRANSFORMER HOUSEHere’s also something truly innovative. The CyberTrailer features proprietary self-driving powered axles. This dramatically reduces range loss for both electric and gas-powered tow vehicles. The result? You can reach those bucket-list remote locations that were previously out of bounds. The engineers at Living Vehicle haven’t overlooked a single detail. The CyberTrailer’s design has been optimized for maximum aerodynamic performance, regardless of the tow vehicle. This means better efficiency, whether you’re looking to maximize EV range or boost MPG in traditional combustion engines. It’s a win-win for your wallet and the environment.WITH THE PUSH OF A BUTTON, THIS COMPACT RV ADDS EXTRA SPACE WITH A SIMPLE TWISTThe CyberTrailer also brings the outdoors in (and vice versa) with Living Vehicle’s signature folding patio deck, now cleverly positioned at the rear. This patio doubles as a ramp, transforming the trailer into a toy hauler. Motorcycles, e-bikes, kayaks, bring them all along for the ride.Speaking of toys, the CyberTrailer isn’t just for lounging. Its 240V Level 2 charging capability means you can recharge all your electric recreational gear. E-bikes, electric motorcycles, scooters, they’ll all be juiced up and ready for action no matter how far off the beaten path you roam.Control your mobile paradise on wheels with just a tap on your Apple iPad. The wireless control system puts all of CyberTrailer’s features at your fingertips, marrying high-tech convenience with off-grid capability. The team at Living Vehicle has thrown down the gauntlet to the RV industry. They’ve shown what’s possible when you combine visionary design with cutting-edge technology. Now, let’s talk numbers. The CyberTrailer starts at $175,000, with deliveries slated to begin in 2025. It’s a premium price tag, no doubt, but consider what you’re getting: a fully self-sufficient, luxurious smart home on wheels that can take you anywhere. Intrigued? You can secure your spot on the wait list with a fully refundable $100 deposit by clicking here. The CyberTrailer represents a harmonious blend of sustainability, cutting-edge technology, luxury and adventure. For EV enthusiasts, it’s a dream come true. For off-grid adventurers, it’s the ultimate enabler. And for those who simply refuse to compromise on comfort while exploring the great outdoors, it’s nothing short of revolutionary. Yes, the price point puts it in the realm of a luxury RV. But for those who can make the investment, the CyberTrailer offers a level of freedom, comfort and sustainability that’s unmatched in the RV world.Would you trade your traditional home for a high-tech nomadic lifestyle? Why or why not? … .

MotoTec Drifter 48v 800w Electric Trike Lithium, Black, Large https://a.co/d/5Crt6Ky
Smaller thinner tires in the front probably 20 in by three and three inch by 15 in the back the engine in the front is okay but it's a free wheel pedal assist you can have it in the rear but it's better in the front maybe the configuration is fine you do need some shocks in the front the seat is okay but it needs to be a rising seat and the handlebars need to be more stock e-bike look kind of like the lectric I have. When the seat rises are still has to be storage behind it and when it lowers the storage behind it so when you get on the street you can use it in the big wheel mode and it's faster and it's more efficient but for real it's safer your center of gravity is lower and you won't get hurt on the sidewalk when it's high up there in your scooter you can fall over and you're already not doing too good lots of people you can make the seat rise hydraulically for those who are truly handicapped and it can be a handicapped item and you can qualify it with the federal government as a wheelchair or assisted mobility device whatever they call it and you can get Federal funding for building them and discounts for selling them people will get them for free they look different but this is the idea
Zues hehe Hera it's my idea too but I'm laughing at it LOL
I'm laughing at 2:00 it's like this really common Sense thing you just do this recumbent thing and you make it rise up and you have a scooter you can go inside the store with and he didn't mention that that's why you don't want the fat tire in front and The groovy tires in the rear but I suppose you could buy it this way but a different manufacturer might come up with the idea and really what you're doing is you're making a trike and they have them but they're very clumsy and clumsy and their top heavy and they're hard to ride and you can never go in the store but with this one you can go in the store and you'd have a place for your feet and you could retract the pedals and the pedals would be close to the wheel and just fold them in and go inside and you do your shopping and you drive out
Thor Freya
He's trying to get this concept across and I finally get it see you leaving and you have a a some sort of a system on the back that holds your stuff and you can have one on the front and you can have someone at your feet and you are turning into a big wheel and has a freewheeling front wheel and go backwards and it's a break and you have brakes in your handlebars you have a throttle as pedal assist and I'm telling you what it doesn't have to have speeds to be pedal assist now this is a great idea because if you have to pedal home you're using your glute and large muscle groups and you can actually get there with a trike he'll never get there if it's not like this it's like recumbent you can actually put those recumbent tires on the rear and a little bigger one on the front I'm going to go ahead and try and design it and I know what he means about the seat you go down like this pretty low and then you go up and it has like a regular evike handlebar but you have to move those up and down too this is a great idea
Mac daddy
Is for going in the store and it's for riding home I'll tell you what this is awesome I really can't understand what it is but now I can when you use the recumbent bicycles tires it looks like a scooter when it's up and you're in the store and it looks normal then you're going home and it looks like a cool big wheel this is outstanding
Bg
Olympus
You're not coming in here with that
Trump well I guess if I build it he can go into Publix
