★ Salman Khan opens up on ‘Tiger 3’, Katrina, and what patriotism means to him!
November 10, 2023
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, who is ready to roll out the seemingly unstoppable franchise ‘Tiger 3’ in UAE cinemas on November 11, claims that he jumped aboard the latest chapter without even waiting for a narration of the script. Clearly, the faith in the makers of the spectacular derring-do franchise transcended his need to go into any details like the plot or the climax.
Directed by Maneesh Sharma and produced by Aditya Chopra of Yash Raj Films, the 57-year-old star returns as the Indian Intelligence operative Avinash Singh Rathore - known as Tiger on the field - in the third installment of the hit franchise.
“When Adi told me the third script is ready and asked me to come for a narration, I immediately told him that ‘Tiger is always ready’,” said Khan in an interview over-mail with Gulf News. The Diwali release, also starring Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi as the antagonist, promises to be bigger, bolder, and better. Excerpts from our interview with Khan as we talk about his character, patriotism, and more ...
The ‘Tiger’ films are known for their high-octane action sequences. What kind of physical and mental preparation do you go through for these demanding roles?
If you love what you do, then it’s not tough or demanding. You just do what you have to do. ‘Tiger’ is a franchise that’s very close to my heart, and while it is demanding, I thoroughly enjoyed prepping and shooting for this. When Adi (Aditya Chopra) told me the third script is ready and asked me to come for a narration, I immediately told him that ‘Tiger is always ready’. In fact, even before the narration, I told him I would come for the shoot whenever it starts. Also, we had an international crew of action directors and choreographers for ‘Tiger 3’, so it was a very smooth shoot. Even though we shot in various locations and climate conditions, they were very professional and had absolute clarity of how this needs to be done. ‘Tiger 3’ has some intense action scenes which I am sure will be a visual spectacle for audiences.
Tiger is known for his strong moral code in this franchise, but the latest installment seems to suggest that he has gone rogue. Was that aspect the most appealing to you?
The character of Tiger evolves, and his emotional graph as well as inner journey expands in this film. Whether he has gone rogue or is doing the right thing, needs to be experienced by audiences in theaters. Tiger has asked his audiences to give his son, his [father’s] character certificate. So let’s see what happens.
The character, Tiger, is known for his patriotism and loyalty to his country. How do you personally connect with these qualities, and how do they influence your portrayal of the character?
India is my homeland, my place of work, and the country that has given me immeasurable love. Our country is diverse and beautiful. My patriotism is a way of life, so I don’t wear it on my sleeve. Tiger embodies the good and patriotic in all of us.
What, according to you, is the most defining aspect of a patriot, keeping Tiger’s character in mind?
A patriot will do his or her very best for their country. I don’t think you can define love for one’s nation.
The ‘Tiger’ franchise has a significant global fan following. How do you connect with fans worldwide, and what do you think makes this franchise so universally appealing?
Audiences have a connection with my character Tiger, and they have followed his journey from the word go. They feel a connection with those characters. I also feel this is the first Indian spy franchise, and so fans connect with that. I am grateful that my fans love to watch the Tiger installments so much.
How have you seen Katrina Kaif evolve as a co-star, actress, and a human being through the making of Tiger installments?
A: When Katrina steps onto the set, you can witness her passion and determination in every scene of hers. She invests an incredible amount of effort and time into preparing for her roles, her action scenes, and her dance sequences. Katrina’s level of commitment is evident in the way she immerses herself in the world of the characters, going above and beyond, to deliver good performances. She has always been like that, and that’s a commendable feat.
What is your personal favorite “Tiger” film, and why does it hold a special place in your heart?
Each and every one of them because I think I have given these films my all. ‘Tiger’ franchise will be forever special to me.
If Tiger had to collaborate with another hero from the spy genre, would it be SRK from Pathaan?
Tiger and Pathaan have collaborated once in ‘Pathaan’. So, I’m sure they will collaborate again when the time comes.

As it depicts characters in a same-sex relationship, the United Arab Emirates banned Walt Disney-Pixar's animated feature film "Lightyear" from being screened in theatres on Monday.
According to the Ministry of Youth and Culture's media regulatory authority, the film would not be licenced for screening in the country since it violated the country's media content standard.
Rashid Khalfan Al Nuaimi, Executive Director of the Media Regulatory Office, later said that the film was prohibited because it featured "homosexual" characters in multiple scenes.
A Disney official did not immediately respond to emailed questions about the ban, which has been lauded on social media in the country.
Same-sex relationships are illegal in the UAE, as they are in many other Middle Eastern and Muslim countries. The UAE is a Gulf country with a population of about 10 million people, the majority of whom are foreigners.
"Lightyear," which was scheduled to be released on June 16 in UAE theatres, is based on the popular Toy Story franchise's Buzz Lightyear action figure character.
"Buzz" is voiced by Chris Evans, and "Alisha Hawthorne" is played by Uzo Aduba. Aduba's character is romantically involved with another lady, whom she kisses in the movie.
Some social media users claimed that showing same-sex couples was against the UAE's religion and culture, while others claimed that such material should not be shown to youngsters.
An Arabic hashtag demanding that the film not be shown in the UAE was trending on Twitter before Monday's decision.
Regulators in Muslim-majority countries have previously prohibited films that depict same-sex couples, while others that contain profanity or illicit drug use have been restricted.
International versions of films would be aired in the UAE, confirmed the UAE's media regulatory office in December.

Understanding the Role of Lawyers in Dubai
Dubai, the gleaming gem of the United Arab Emirates, stands as a beacon of opportunity and prosperity in the Middle East. Its towering skyscrapers, bustling business districts, and multicultural ambiance attract individuals and businesses from around the globe. However, with such dynamism comes the need for legal expertise to navigate the complex legal landscape of this vibrant city.
Lawyers in Dubai play a crucial role in facilitating transactions, resolving disputes, and ensuring compliance with the law. Whether you're a multinational corporation, a budding entrepreneur, or an individual seeking legal advice, understanding the role of lawyers in Dubai is essential.
Legal Framework
Dubai operates under a civil law system, heavily influenced by Islamic law (Sharia). The legal framework is codified, with laws enacted by the government and enforced by the judiciary. Additionally, Dubai has established specialized free zones, each with its own regulatory framework tailored to attract specific industries such as technology, finance, and logistics.
Services Offered by Lawyers
Lawyers in Dubai offer a wide range of services to meet the diverse needs of clients:
Corporate Law: Dubai's burgeoning economy attracts businesses from various sectors, requiring legal assistance in company formation, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, and regulatory compliance.
Real Estate Law: With its booming property market, real estate transactions in Dubai demand legal expertise in property purchase, leasing agreements, construction contracts, and property disputes.
Commercial Law: Lawyers assist businesses in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, including sales agreements, distribution contracts, and franchise agreements.
Litigation and Dispute Resolution: Inevitably, disputes arise in commercial and civil matters. Lawyers represent clients in litigation before the local courts or resort to alternative dispute resolution methods such as mediation and arbitration.
Employment Law: With a diverse workforce comprising expatriates and locals, employment laws in Dubai govern matters such as employment contracts, termination procedures, and labor disputes.
Intellectual Property Law: Protecting intellectual property rights is crucial in a knowledge-based economy. Lawyers help clients secure trademarks, patents, and copyrights and enforce their rights against infringement.
Family Law: Personal matters such as marriage, divorce, child custody, and inheritance are governed by family law principles, where legal counsel can provide guidance and representation.
Challenges and Opportunities
Navigating the legal landscape in Dubai poses both challenges and opportunities. The legal system, while transparent and efficient, may pose complexities for those unfamiliar with local laws and customs. Furthermore, cultural sensitivities and language barriers may impact legal proceedings.
However, Dubai's rapid development also presents opportunities for lawyers to specialize in niche areas such as Islamic finance, technology law, and cross-border transactions. Additionally, the city's strategic location as a gateway between East and West positions lawyers to engage in international transactions and dispute resolution.
Conclusion
Lawyers in Dubai serve as indispensable partners in the city's growth story, providing essential legal services to individuals and businesses alike. Whether facilitating multimillion-dollar deals or resolving personal disputes, their expertise ensures that Dubai remains a hub of innovation, commerce, and opportunity in the Middle East and beyond.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is a premier professional Twenty20 cricket league, revolutionizing the sport since its inception in 2008. Founded by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the league operates on a franchise system, featuring teams representing different cities and owned by various corporate entities and celebrities. What sets the IPL apart is its amalgamation of cricketing prowess and entertainment. The league attracts top-tier international and domestic players, creating an electrifying mix of established stars and emerging talents. Beyond the cricketing spectacle, the IPL has redefined the economics of the game. Its massive viewership, sponsorship deals, and the auction system for players have made it one of the wealthiest and most-watched cricket leagues globally. The IPL has not only elevated the standard of T20 cricket but has also contributed significantly to the global popularity and commercialization of the sport.
IPL, every year is hosted in India during the time march to May. But this year due to the Lok Sabha elections, BCCI is finding a lot of issues to host IPL in India during the time from March to May. The primary issues include scheduling conflicts, security concerns, and logistical complexities. The election period often demands significant resources and attention from authorities, potentially overlapping with the dates earmarked for the IPL. Security arrangements during elections may strain resources, affecting the ability to ensure a safe and secure environment for the cricket matches. Additionally, the logistical challenges associated with managing venues, transportation, and accommodation may intensify during the election season, impacting the smooth execution of the IPL. Now, due to all these reasons, BCCI have decided to look for a new host country to whom they can give the hosting rights. Few of the earlier seasons of the league have been conducted in various countries like South Africa and UAE due to some or the other reasons, but this time BCCI wants to have a new host for the league to give a chance to some new country to host one of the biggest cricket extravaganzas.
Task at hand-
You are required to represent the culture, ethos, attire, food habits, and lifestyle of your nation, and convince the representatives of the Board that your nation is the perfect host for the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League in all aspects: culturally, economically, politically, etc. Your proposal will be evaluated based on your creativity, research, and personality. You aren’t required to submit any deliverables, so you can steer your bid in any direction you want to!
Allocation of countries:
1. Rawanda PRO-002
2. Afghanistan PRO-003
3. Namibia PRO-001
4. Lebanon PRO-010

Why are carbon footprints measured?
We are a Carbon footprint consultancy, Artificial and natural factors both contribute to climate change. The most significant environmental problems at the moment are caused by anthropogenic factors, which include burning fossil fuels, the food and pharmaceutical industries, producing and using solvents, transporting goods by land, air, and water, and waste disposal. These factors produce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, among other things, which contribute to global warming. Several programs are now underway to monitor environmental changes and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. One approach to report them is through the carbon footprint. A product's, companies, or even city's life cycle's worth of direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions is called its "carbon footprint."
Tumblr media
As a Carbon footprint consultancy In Dubai, the unit of measurement is comparable to carbon dioxide (eCO2). Like the water footprint, the carbon footprint is a component of the ecological footprint, a method used to assess how a specific factor affects the ecosystem. One Pole has an annual carbon footprint of roughly 10 tons of CO2. Numerous governmental and private organizations determine their carbon footprint for various reasons. Among these is that the carbon footprint is a significant predictor of market competitiveness and—more importantly—that businesses will soon be required to report indirectly on environmental issues due to the introduction of new laws and regulations.  The most widely used techniques for determining one's carbon footprint are those based on international norms, such as the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.
In our opinion as Carbon footprint consultancy In UAE, Data makes it easier for you to comprehend how your company affects the climate at every value chain stage. Additionally, it creates a business rationale for monitoring the search for safer products and solutions. Only by understanding where we are can, we begin to lessen adverse environmental effects. We can make better decisions if we know where in the value chain the majority of emissions are produced; this is consistent with the adage, "If we don't measure it, we don't manage it." Growing consumer knowledge is reflected in their preference for alternatives; some innovators, like Oatly, have already started to list CO2e values on their products.  Global businesses with vast supply chains are particularly affected.
We are renowned Carbon footprint consultancy; these businesses are increasingly expanding their guidelines for ordering from subcontractors by including details about the items' carbon footprints. The efforts towards transforming to a green economy are integrated with the taxonomy regulations, the Green Deal, and monies allocated for the economy's post-COVID-19 recovery.  The shifts are moving toward incentives and awards in the form of cash for verified, environmentally friendly solutions. They fall into one of two categories: upstream or downstream. While downstream emissions are connected to the usage, processing, and end-of-life care of sold goods or franchises, upstream emissions relate to capital goods, purchased raw materials and services, waste, and business travel.
In our role as Carbon footprint consultancy In Dubai, Specific processes may not exist in a given organization or may be so tiny as to produce trace amounts of eCO2, in which case their contribution to the overall carbon footprint result will be negligible. Every business can start by calculating its carbon footprint to determine how it affects the environment. Companies should also involve their value chain partners, define the execution timeframes, and declare reduction goals. In the future, items' carbon footprints will likely be listed on the packaging next to their nutritional value or details on the components of the packaging due to customer and governmental pressure.

[ad_1] Due to a calculation glitch in the auction, lanky left-arm medium-pacer from United Arab Emirates (UAE), Mahika Gaur, could not roll her arm at the inaugural Women's Premier League (WPL) in India a few months ago. Gujarat Giants did bid for then 16-year-old pacer but as they had already exhausted their quota of overseas players, the franchise think-tank had to leave her out from the squad. Leaving behind the disappointment of not being part of WPL, Gaur kept making waves at the international level playing for UAE and also in Fairbreak Invitational in Hong Kong. Mahika Gaur in action during The Hundred(The Hundred) Recently, the 17-year-old startled everyone playing for Manchester Originals side in The Hundred. Having moved from UAE to pursue education on a scholarship in her home country, she grabbed headlines some days ago as she became the third Indian-origin bowler to get selected in the England women's cricket team. She will be seen in action against Sri Lanka in the upcoming T20I and ODI series. The first India-origin bowler to have played for England was Sonia Odedra and Isa Guha was the second one. "I hope there will be more role models now for young Asian girls in England so they feel like they can get into the sport, and hopefully in the future we will see more and more South Asian women in the team," she said after her selection. Gaur, who stands 6 feet 2 inches tall, impressed England coach John Lewis the most. And the fact that England are in a great need of a quality pacer after Anya Shrubsole and Kathrine Brunt have quit the sport, makes Gaur's entry in the England team more relevant. She hogged limelight playing for UAE in the U-19 World Cup in South Africa and also for the senior team in the T20 Asia Cup which India won in Bangladesh last year. The Reading-born teenager who has roots in Rajasthan made her international debut for the UAE aged 12, against Indonesia during the Thailand Women's T20 Smash in 2019. Her love for the game began at six years old, when Gaur went to an Indian Premier League (IPL) game in Jaipur to watch Rajasthan Royals against Delhi Capitals with her family. "I do not remember much of the match but when we got back to England I would try to bowl like them in the garden and I joined a club nearby," shared Gaur. Gaur took after her father who was also once a left-arm medium-pacer and played for his university and is 6 feet 4 inches tall. Her parents moved to Dubai in 2014 from England. Her first cricket lessons in Dubai happened at the International Cricket Council Academy. "All WPL franchises will be eyeing young players who have done well in the recent months. Mahika is a great talent and I am sure during the WPL-2 auction she will be sold at a good price. And she will now get great exposure with the England team which plays all through the calendar," said one of the scouts for WPL and also a former cricketer. Someone who idolises England's swing bowler James Anderson, Gaur possesses impressive variations and relies on her swing along with pace with a clean action to support her talent. She might have missed out during the first WPL auction but it looks like she will be a hot-pick whenever the second WPL auction happens. What are some of the interesting facts about IPL 2023 ?
The most prominent and thrilling franchise league in the world is the Indian Premier League or IPL. The competition, which is run by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), is eagerly awaited and attracts the same amount of interest as any international match. The combination of hefty contracts and the involvement of the top cricketers in the world is what distinguishes the IPL and makes it the premier league globally. Let's look at some intriguing insider information about the IPL 2023 that is likely to spark enthusiasm with 15 seasons already completed and the 16th season currently in progress.
The IPL is once again a national event in India.
For fans of Indian cricket, the IPL 2023 will be a breath of fresh air because it will once again be a national event. United Arab Emirates (UAE) has hosted the IPL for two straight seasons since the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak. The entire tournament was staged in the UAE in 2020, and only the group stage matches in 2021, with the playoffs and championship game taking place in Ahmedabad and Kolkata, respectively. The IPL's return to all areas of the nation would rekindle fan enthusiasm and support, giving the teams a boost.
LSG will be welcomed in Lucknow
The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) franchise is the only team among the ten that has not yet played an IPL match on their home ground. In the previous season, LSG played their matches in Mumbai and Kolkata. However, in IPL 2023, they will finally experience the support of their home crowd and the thrill of playing in their stadium in Lucknow. This will undoubtedly be a memorable and exciting moment for the team and its fans.
Changes to IPL streaming locations
Star Sports and Disney+ Hot Star have long been the preferred streaming services for IPL fans. However, digital broadcast rights have undergone a substantial adjustment for IPL 2023. Fans must now switch to Jio Cinema to watch the live stream while the IPL is still being televised on the Star Sports network. Additionally, for the first time, IPL matches this season will be broadcast in 4K visual resolution, giving viewers a noticeably better watching experience.
The emergence of significant players
The IPL 2023 introduces the idea of impact players in a ground-breaking manner. Before every game, teams can choose an impact player for the first time in IPL history. The impact player can contribute with both bat and ball in the second inning and can be introduced into the game at any time to replace a player. The fact that the impact player must be an Indian player unless there are fewer than four international players in the starting eleven, is an intriguing part of this new policy. The impact player can only be one of the four substitutes each team can choose before the game. This rule change is expected to add a new level of excitement and energy to the matches, making the competition even more captivating.
Shuffled group matches
The 10 teams in the IPL 2023 have been split into two groups, each with five clubs. Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, and Lucknow Super Giants are the teams in Group A. Gujarat Titans, Punjab Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Chennai Super Kings, and Royal Challengers Bangalore are the teams that makeup Group B. In past seasons, teams from the same group played twice against a single team from the opposing group in addition to playing once against each team from the opposing group. A fresh format, though, has been implemented this year. Teams in Group B will face each other twice.
