Everyone before the game came out: Arven is obviously the reincarnation of Volo, def evil lol
Me, after 2 Titan missions: this tsundere just wants to help his old, "definitely going to die soon but shh don't tell him" dog and his parents don't even ask about him bc they're too obsessed with the legendary that keeps eating his sandwiches, I will protect him with my life-

Had a fun AU idea hear me out: what if instead of hating everything his parents did and getting into cooking, Arven instead got really into their research topics in a bid for their attention. Do you think they would’ve appreciated him a bit more? I could see it going either way... either they would get really overly attached to him ( “No one else understands our work” ) or they would be at canon levels of detachment idk. I’m just envisioning a scenario in which Arven got to stay in Area Zero because, hear me out (again):
What if Arven was the one who lost his life in the accident? And then, suppose the professors, riddled with grief and guilt, maybe make that lab assistant they now need... and maybe they make it look like their son, you know, since they’re still grieving, and then maybe they can’t stand to have him still working with them because it’s overwhelming, so they send him back to Paldea in order to live the life he never got to live... And they don’t think they deserve to go back to Paldea for what they’ve done, so they sequester themselves in their lab...
Just could be interesting, is all >:3 ( And also the idea of AI!Arven having to carry around like 20 fucking million terra orbs kind of cracks me up)

I'm currently replaying Pokemon Violet for the second dlc coming up and I'm just over here going "Yea..... the Area Zero gang are a polycule and I'm roleplaying that." Arven is the first acquired in the polycule. Nemona will be second and then Penny? she just joins randomly like "yea I like these people." and then she goes "Oh shit. I *LIKE* Like these people."

i feel like scarlet & violet would have an additional ' chaos vs order ' theming for the timelines where these 2 aren't dead
i've been listening to this ^ a whole bunch , and i can just picture this with geeta as vox.
depending on your version of the game , you essentially have Turo / sada essentially declaring war on Geeta for trying to overwork their beloved partner to death.

Celebrating finally getting Scarlet tomorrow by doing a silly uniform headcanon because I went to a school with a strict uniform code for summer and winter and like the idea of each game being included in the world. (<- he has no idea about how the customisability and limits of it at the school so is just projecting.)

Finished Scarlet. I think I liked the ending but I still want to set my killowatrel on Sada with the instruction "kill". The crater is a lovely pit and I'd like to be there looking at prehistoric pokemon for ages too but Arven is more lovely go talk to him hes your son. Actually don't hes my son now I'm the father and I'm revoking your custody.

(How WOULD Arven deal with people thirsting after his parents?)
He's not amused, but he's not literally stupid, either. Arven's general reaction is about the same as half of any situation- WhatEVER.
Especially postgame, he's definitely matured to the point of at least trying to sympathize with them.
He might be super annoyed in the early-game, especially since his reputation is literally just being his parents' son- hurts when they're not around and not relevant.
...and he's a little vain himself and would comment or agree lightly that he definitely got his looks from Somewhere. That's probably more in the context of patting himself on the back tho- not them so much.
of course, anything further than looks and it's like, Good Fucking Luck. His parents will probably ruin your life like they did his! and if they don't, congratulations, guess you got lucky, it's weirdchamp.

I do not care that the professors Turo and Sada we see in game are not really people but AIs. I still desire them carnally

Kinda morbid random thought that has been plaguing me since I beat the game.
Is Turo/Sada’s body still in the ruined base? Is their fucking skeleton there buried under all the rubble or something? Did a pokemon eat it?? I mean, I’m pretty sure it’s implied no one else but the AI has been down there since the original’s death right? I mean Turo/Sada were famous professors who suddenly ‘disappeared’ from the media. If their bodies were found it totally would’ve made national news + Arven being under the assumption his parent is still alive. Or did the AI bury it themselves??
Fuck everything else, Gamefreak give me answers for THIS.

I get that a lot of people hate Arven because he's so spiteful towards Koraidon/Miraidon, but that's only really fair to say in the early game. The end of the Path Of Legends really sheds a light onto why he might be so bitchy towards the Pokemon that makes him sympathetic.
If you remember from the end of the Path of Legends, he explained that his parents (Professor Sada & Toro) are deadbeats who favored their research over raising him. The legendary was in their possession before, and now it's in yours. The professor puts a lot of energy into that Pokemon. Arven is most likely as spiteful as he is because his parents care more about that fuckin dog dragon motorcycle thing than they ever cared about him.
Sure, he was outrageously bitchy at the start of the game, but remember this is a 18-20(??) year old man who was neglected in favor of Pokemon now having to watch you care for one of the Pokemon that he was neglected in favor of. That's kinda fucked up, Game Freak.
