Stage 3: the pilot announced it was 43°C (109.4F) in Delhi as we landed.

There was barely an immigration queue for foreigners with e-visas, the agent who stamped me in was bizarrely attractive (not that immigration agents can't be hot, it's just not usually their defining feature, especially when middle-aged). I loitered a bit in the arrivals hall and took out some cash before enacting my plan to take the airport metro down one stop and walk to my hotel. I fended off the lone cabby who complimented my hairstyle and made an unsuccessful go at convincing me my hotel wasn't near the metro. I managed the metro security and ticket-buying largely because I'd watched an 'intro to Hindi' video in which the teacher warned that he who attempts to queue nicely in India will be waiting for an eternity. I loitered in the metro station when it became clear that finding the hotel was NOT as easy as google maps might have indicated (on account of an intervening construction site). I made a confused loop back to the entrance before my GPS finally deigned to cooperate, but a tuk tuk driver had already smelled tourist blood in the water and started following me. I told him I was walking "to see the world" and "have an experience". Either baffled or convinced I was insane, he gave up.

My hotel had been around the corner all along, I got a bit misgendered while checking in, and felt out of place in a 5 star establishment with my backpack and dusty sneakers, but they did confirm my reservation, take my money, and give me a room key. I had added on all meals, to save myself having to go looking for sustenance in a new land after a long flight and this is where the real delight began: dinner was a buffet, and perhaps I was making a fool of myself (sometimes there's no getting around this stage) because the waiters came to help me, but eventually I had eaten so many amazing starters, curries, naan, and desserts that I thought they would have to roll me back to my room. I had warned myself not to set my expectations with Bollywood movies but the dining room singer did perform Ikk Kudi from Udta Punjab...

Tomorrow it's back to the airport, but today's been alright.

When you are sent on a mission to rescue Ethan Hunt from prison, the events that domino will force you to face the ghosts of your past and your guilt tied to Ethan.

This takes place throughout the events of ghost protocol. There will be a change in the story and the events of the mission impossible 2 and 3. Ethan and Julia never got married, a certain amount of information will be changed that will be revealed in the story.

You barely paid Brij Nath any attention as your mind shifted between listening in on comms  and thinking about Ethan and his stupid stupid hunch. 

Throughout the time you've known him, Ethan has had a lot of 'hunches'. 

And usually, they've very accurate. 

Hence why he trusts these hunches. 

And why you did too. 

But the fact that he decided to kiss you deeply just for show, and then leave you there with zero explanation of his actions, stung deeply. 

Very deeply. 

You were sure Ethan had his suspicions of your feelings towards him. The time in the shack in Dubai didnt leave you being subtle for any reason. 

Regardless whether he knew your feelings or not, the whole act felt a little sinful. 

You paused your thought process when you felt Brij Nath's hand on your lower back, pulling you against him as he led you down the hallway of his collection of art, spewing something about, "exposing one's deepest desires" 

You smiled at Brij Nath, feigning interest in what hes saying. 

"what the hell is that?"

"what the hell is what?" Ethan responded.

"its downloaded a virus from the satellite." benji responded

There was a pause. 

"Hendricks is killing the server....before we can kill the satellite." Ethan spoke.

Benji's voice became urgent. "Hendricks is reprogramming the satellite hes gonna have launch capability in five minutes!" 

You swallowed before taking Brij Nath's hand, a sweet smile gracing your features as you spoke softly. "I would...like to go somewhere private with you..sir.." 

Brij Nath's grin widened, "of course...my dear.." he led you down to a private bedroom. 

You took a minute to look at your surroundings, keeping the innocent and wistful look on your face as you scanned the room. 

"Venus, we gotta move. Get that code." Jane said. 

"its beautiful.." you turned to Brij nath. He moved closer to you, "only the finest...with no..interruptions.." he touched your chin eagerly. 

You blinked at him, smiling. "Good." you whispered, grabbing him and flipping him onto the bed, putting him in a headlock. 

He groaned and squirmed under your grip, "what---"

"try to move and you will never speak again. the override sequence to the relay station. say it." you demanded.

He panted, squirming. 

You tightened your grip, "say it!" you demanded. 

Brij Nath took a breath, trying to breathe. "46....82.....93..." he groaned

You waited for a second, keeping your hold on the man. 

"the system's crashed! we're too late!" benji spoke. 

You heard Ethan reply, "no no no hes revealed himself---Benji can you pinpoint Hendricks location?"

"Hendricks is signaling out of a state run TV station 6.7 miles from here." he answered 

"Send me the coordinates. Good work Bradnt--get the hell out of there. Jane, Rendevouz with benji and brandt. Y/n-- tie it off with Nath and meet me at the rally point." Ethan ordered. 

You grabbed the sedative from your thigh, moving brij nath and pushing it into his neck. "go to sleep." you muttered in Hindi before letting him go.

You moved down back to the party, before heading out the exit. 

You headed for the car, finding Ethan starting it up. You got in as the two of you sped out of the valet. 

Benji checked in with you and Ethan as you began to take off your dress, grabbing the bag from the backseat.

"How long before Hendricks can launch a missile?" Ethan asked, speeding up as he looked at the gps on the windshield. 

"Less than 30 seconds!" 

Ethan pressed his lips together and swiped the gps away. "I need another route. Y/n." he looked you as you took off your dress and left yourself in your kevlar. 

You looked at the road, "There's a left up. ahead. turn left and then take the alley that'll come on the right." you said. 

Ethan looked at you before turning his focus ahead, speeding up. 

As you and Ethan sped through the streets and alley, you heard Benji speak again. "Hendricks just started the launch sequence." 

"how much time till missiles are flying?" you asked as you changed. 

"Three minutes!"

You looked around as Ethan drove and swerve around, "we're three and a half minutes out.." you looked at him. 

He watched you as you put on your shirt, looking back to the road. "We'll make it. we always do." he muttered. 

You kept directing him through the streets; and as you both tried to get to the TV station on time. 

As you and Ethan stopped because of people on the road, Benji's voice came in again. 

"guys..we're too late.."

"what?" 

"the missiles in the air." he spoke, defeated. 

You swallowed as you and Ethan exchanged looks. You could see him formulating another plan in his mind. He refused to give up. 

He immediately sped up as soon as the crosswalk cleared. "There has to be a way to abort the warhead." he muttered. 

You thought for a minute, "the launch device. there should be some form of contingency on it.." you suggested.  "if there is a way it'll be on it."

"We need that case." Ethan finished. 

As you got to the station, you spotted Hendricks and wistrom standing outside. 

"get Hendricks!" you told him before you ran after Wistrom. 

You followed him back into the server room, taking out your gun. You searched for him carefully before spotting him at the processor. You shot at him, making him hide and stop tearing the wires. 

As you searched for him, he snuck up on you and stabbed you with a shard of broken glass. Wistrom tried to snatch your gun, making you struggle as you fought back with a shard through your torso. You managed to kick him away and shoot at him. 

As you did so, he ducked and ran. You tried to chase after him but stopped when you heard people coming into the room. You swore, panting as you pulled the shard out and bent down, taking cover. 

Jane, Benji and Brandt made their way into the room, relieving you as you stood back up, grunting. "Wistrom's on the run. go." you told them, leaning against the processor. 

Jane went to you as Brandt followed your instructions. "youre injured." Jane pressed her fingers against your wound. "Im fine...benji...get the relay fixed...." you told him before the power went out. 

benji took a breath, informing brandt to get the power back on. Jane looked at you, "we have to get you out of here." she held you up as blood soaked your shirt and dripped down. "no..no cover benji incase wistrom comes back." you pulled away and stumbled onto to the floor. 

"y/n!" she went to you, "cmon..youll be okay...Ethan--" she spoke into comms before you grabbed her wrist.

"No."

"no?"

"Dont tell Ethan. im fine. I'll be fine. just cover benji. I'll handle it." you said as she helped you stand back up. 

"Y/n."

"I'll be okay. Just Dont tell Ethan."

Remus was absolutely terrified. In front of the mirror, he was practicing what he was going to say to your parents who he was going to meet in just about 3 hours.

He glanced down at his watch and his eyes widened. Scratch that, make that 2 more hours. It was safe to say that the sandy haired boy really cared about the situation that was going to come into play and your heart melted when you saw him getting into a kurta just to make your father happy.

He was fiddling with the collar of the bright green kurta. You know he only picked it out because you said it looked nice. The green made his eyes pop and match dreadfully well with the intricate gold designs that were sewed into the cloth.

It made him look ethereal but not as ethereal as you.

You decided to wear a nice and simple salwar kameez. It was a gorgeous dark red with gold that made the red seem even more dark and enchanting. You smiled softly as Remus who was now fidgeting around with the hem of the kurta, turning his body and checking all sorts of things with it.

You slowly made your way to Remus and snuck your arms around his waist. He giggled and turned around to meet your face before his eyes widened and jaw dropped down to his feet.

"Darling, you look ravishing in red," Remus whispers in your ear, his hands moving to your hips. Your breath hitched in your throat while you stuttered out a 'what' as your cheeks got red.

He smirked at you and gave you a quick peck before letting you go, you sighed deeply and looked into Remus's eyes.

The moment was disrupted when an alarm suddenly rang and in a split second, both of you were out the door, running to the car.

Of course, that didn't stop Remus from opening your car door and buckling your seat belt for you when you both got in the car.

The drive to your parents home was about 25 minutes from the hotel you were staying at and as the GPS kept signaling you were getting closer, the more nervous you and Remus got.

You hadn't even told your parents you had a boyfriend until a month ago and you yet you did tell them that he was white, you were still terrified.

Remus seemed to notice your distress and laid a firm.hand on your thigh. You turned your head and smiled at him, blushing ever so slightly.

"Don't worry dove, I got a few tricks up my sleeve," he said, making the final turn to your childhood home.

A few hours had passed and all was going wonderfully well. Your parents were very welcoming of Remus and he couldn't be any happier. At first, they had their own thoughts about their daughter being with someone of a different race, but Remus did in fact pull that trick.

The entire time Remus was near your parents, he spoke Hindi.

You were amazed at his skills and knew it must've taken ages for him to learn. It took you a solid 2 years to get a grasp of the conjunction itself but Remus was gliding through it all, even adding a few jokes here and there.

Remus got to look at some of your old baby photos and sneakily took one from the album to keep with him and tease you about when you got home.

At one point, your mother even came over to you, whispering in your ear how you had won the jackpot when Remus said he could cook wonderful Malai Kofta.

You nodded, not really paying attention to her. Instead, you were entranced by Remus enthusiasm as he chatted with your father about the upcoming cricket game, the both of them laughing and having a splendid time.

Oh how you loved Remus.

Ok lang yang 74. Wala namang ambag ang nmat sa kung magiging magaling na doktor ka. Role lang nito ay makapasok ka sa med school. If you want a higher score, prepare then iretake mo na lang.

"Gusto ko talaga maging doktor kaya lang pangalawa ako sa anim na magkakapatid."

Magastos talaga ang magdoktor, financially and emotionally. May scholarships dito or kung sa UP (free tuition + stipend) or PLM (free rin yata if taga-maynila, not sure na) ka, less ang gagastusin. Sorry, 'yung outside manila, wala akong say.

"Naiisip ko na 'yung limang taon kong pag-aaral sa pagdodoktor ay parang malayo na rin mararating ko as a MedTech."

May be true. Baka nasa Canada ka na no'n or some first-world country.

"Ang dami kong concerns about sa career path ko kaya lang wala akong mapagtanungan."

MD na ako ngayon pero I still think about being an RMT para makapag-abroad. Not necessarily para yun ang ipractice for life. In demand ang doctors everywhere pero andaming barriers pag galing ka sa 3rd world country. Pero di naman imposibleng patunayan na ka-level natin yung mga nasa magagandang bansa.

Wish ko rin na I knew better bago ako pumasok dito, pero okay na rin, wala akong analysis paralysis since wala ngang nakakaalam. Hindi rin ako magaling sumagap ng info back then sa upperclassmen or kung sinuman. Nag-struggle ako kasi "ano ba 'tong ginagawa ko" feels pero may classmates ka namang maghihirap din kaya you're not alone. May vlogs din sa youtube saka mga forum. Syempre iba pa rin pag nandu'n ka na, no amount of reading or asking can prepare you, pero hindi ka nag-iisa.

"Enough po ba ang sweldo ng mga doctors? I heard po kasi na hindi rin sila nababayaran nang tama."

Depende kung ano ang enough for you. Napaka-varied kasi ng sahod since andami ring role ng mga doktor. If you're thinking of residency, sa government hospitals SG 21 sila, check mo na lang magkano 'yon. Private naman, nasa 30-50k. 30k madalas. Working hours? 80-100 hours a week, no joke (unless derma kukunin mo, char). In general, poor ang work-life boundaries habang nasa training. Pag hindi ka naman trainee, meaning GP ka or consultant na, ikaw bahala sa buhay mo. Basta keep in mind na hindi ito same sa traditional corporate path na magsisimula ka somewhere then pag lumipat ka sa ibang company after 2 yrs may career growth.

"Okay naman po ba ang work-life balance ng mga doctors? Napapanood ko kasi na 36 hours straight kung magduty mga doktor tapos lagi pa naman akong tulog 😂"

- During training, hindi. Gaya ng sabi ng mga nakasama ko sa isang ospital, "work" lang, walang work-life balance. Pero other than that pwede ka rin kasing magwork sa DOH, offices, maging company doctor, magtayo ng sarili mong practice, etc. Mahirap mag-generalize. If DOH or offices, M-F 8-5 'yun usually. Usually lang ha.

"Ako rin po magpapaaral sa iba kong mga kapatid dahil matanda na tatay ko tapos 'yung kuya ko naman may pamilya na. Hindi yata talaga ideal 'yung pagiging doktor sa akin."

Matagal ang ROI. Siguro i-set mo nang 10-15 years pa from day 1 ng med school. Marami ring factors involved like may business 'yung ibang med student or may mamanahing practice sa magulang, pero for first gens na starting from scratch, matagal ang ROI. Well let's say na magmo-moonlighting ka after graduation, ok naman ang kita. Or kung magd-dttb ka, malaki sahod nu'n.

"Litong lito na ako anong path ba talaga dapat para sa akin. Nakakatakot magdesisyon lalo na kung walang naggaguide sayo."

Take it slow. I also didn't have that privilege. Pero wala namang perfectly right or wrong answers sa life. Go with what you will least regret. When I was a student, I hated my life a lot, like bakit pa ako nagdoktor, ganito naman pala (pangit ang sistema, ang mean ng other hcw, mahirap, hindi ideal, walang makaintindi sa sitwasyon ko since walang ibang doktor o nasa healthcare field sa pamilya, etc.). Ngayong tapos na ako, I'm happy na kinaya ko. Of course I didn't make it on my own.

Sa mga may tanong, go lang. Basta, isang tao at isang perspective lang ako (n=1), don't blame me later for anything! Best of luck~

For the past few months my level of anxiety had been sky rocketing high.

Received the result of my cervical biopsy today which thank God came back negative for CA. Apparently, abnormal cell growth was detected during my cervical screening on November last year and my GP referred me to a Gyne specialist for further review and got diagnosed with CIN 3 or high Grade 0 cervical dysplasia which if left untreated can eventually lead to cancer.

Fuck me, I was overwhelmed with fear right at that moment when I was told by my Gyne specialist. God knows how much I am praying na sana even at my late 30s I could still conceive. Right there and then, on my own, I was told that I have to undergo LLETZ (large loop electrical excision) procedure where a large loop wire has to be inserted in the cervix to remove the abnormal cells and I’m not kidding when I tell you that it was bloody painful despite of 4 shots of regional anesthesia. I fainted and literally felt my heart pounding. But if I won’t be able to tolerate the procedure then I will be booked for OR table which I really don’t want as it would make me feel that it’s officially major. I remember biting my lips so hard during the whole procedure. I told the Dr that I wanna do it right away coz there’s no point on delaying if it needs to be done anyway and I just want to get over it. So it was done and the excised specimen was sent to lab for biopsy, which took painstakingly looong.

Three things na iniisip isip ko after that. First, my main concern is kung papaano ko sasabihin sa parents and sister ko if say I have cancer, I feel like I could easily process and accept it than them. It will break their hearts and that I’m not really sure if I can handle. We have lost one of our sister when I was a teenager and I don’t even want to relive what we went through after we lost her. My parent’s just don’t deserve to go through that pain and agony again in their life.

Second is, I feel bad for myself coz I am praying so hard na sana I would still be capable of conceiving in the future, honestly I don’t know when. I try to remind myself na di pwedeng just because I’m kind of desperate to have a baby is kung sino sino na lang. My children cannot choose their father but I can, not that Im saying Im perfect but hell no Im not nor nowhere near that but, I know what I deserve and as well as for my future children. I want to experience motherhood and seeing my children grow up and be a hands-on mum.

Third and last is Im grateful that Im insured, and that healthcare in the UK is free. Like literally you go in the hospital penniless but no worries at all dahil ni pence wala kang babayaran maski chemo, radiation or whatever therapies or even surgery that you have to undergo. How I wish na ganito din tayo sa Pinas. ☹️ Also, Grabe pala yung feeling pag insured ka, I didn’t realize how important it is not until I was almost get diagnose with Cancer. I mean if anything happens, the least among all the worries my family have to think about is money because I’m covered. It’s literally a security blanket considering that I am the 🥖 winner in the family.

I cant help not to overthink during that time. Ikaw ba naman kaya ang nearly diagnose to have CA. Inisip ko na ayoko magalit kay Lord because, as cliché as it sounds, I believed that everything happens for a reason, whatever it may be, hindi man natin maintindihan right at that moment, but eventually along the way, life unfolds itself. And I always tell sa lahat ng prayers ko na kahit ano pa man yun will ni Lord no matter how painful it could be, I know He knows better than I do, kaya dun ako. Let thy will be done. 🙏🏻

EOD thoughts

It's now 4PM here and I'm about to sleep. It's been a couple of days since my last writing. So much for my target to write everyday lol

Work has been a breeze recently with minor setbacks because our portal is acting up. Not sure if they're updating it or what.

Work out is fun. Ran 6KMs yesterday and did back (pull) earlier this day.

My schedule since my adjustment to nightshift work has been:

Work 8PM to 5AM

Sleep ideally 5AM (but does not often happen) to 9 or 10AM

9AM or 10AM prep for gym

11AM to 2PM gym

Usually home by 2:30 to 3PM

Sleep from whenever after 3PM then wake up at 8PM to work again

Body clock is fucked up. Last APE exam resulted with high heart rate. Not sure if it's because of my night shift sched or a result of me working out regularly?

Update on the man situation, I was able to get my hands on this phone this morning, after work, before going to sleep. He handed it to me so easily before he went to sleep which was a relief (Not sure pala, I had to ask for it. Said I would charge it. Magmumusic dapat sya pero lowbatt daw pala so I said give it to me, I will charge it. Before, he'd voluntarily give it to me but the past few weeks, he's been holding on to it. Playing music or saying it has enough battery pa). No messages, nothing alarming. But he's been liking photos of girls. Which idk i think is normal nowadays? It bothers me tho. Should I say something?

I saw a saved photo of him and this girl. Not sure if yun yung Pheobe, which I saw he's been talking to in IG. Nothing flirty. But idk.

Anyway, what was a bit alarming was he turned off his location in google maps. He turned it off in the past already but I secretly turned it back on. This morning, I didn't turn it back on. It was off since May 19. Or 16, I don't really remember. I'm thinking of a way to bring this up. Should I?

But what I'm most concerned about is my reaction. Like, I searched for spy apps to install to his phone. I searched for a GPS device I can secretly plant to his stuff. I'm really bothered on how I'm reacting and idk, I don't want to be this kind of girl. I don't want to resort to crazy ideas, stalking, going thru his stuff, lacking trust, thinking about things he's doing or might do behind my back.

He's been great for the most part, working out together, going home straight after work, tho he said, I think last week, that he might go with his team to eat dinner after work. He said his team has been going out to dinner most Fridays, asking him to come along and one of these Fridays, he might say yes. Should I be worried. I am tho TBH.

Biggest challenge lang siguro is time for life events. Like for example, a few weeks back, I attended this wedding in Paranaque, I wanted him to come with sana. That was a Sunday. So the scenario was, He filed a leave on Friday because ate Miq's birthday. Their original plan was to Elyu or Tagaytay for the whole weekend sana. But hindi natuloy and they decided to have dinner nalang. .Anyway, so after gym ng Friday, he went straight to Cubao. He was there Saturday and Sunday. We planned to meet Sunday somewhere after the wedding and go home to Taguig together. Like leave early on Sunday sa Cubao para sabay kami uuwi. I was actually the one that suggested na punta na sya ng Friday in the hopes of him saying na uwi nalang sya ng Taguig early on Sunday para makasama sa wedding. But no, so okay. I was hoping na sabay nalang kami uuwi. But ended up hindi padin sya nakauwi ng early. Late na din sya nakauwi kasi pinatulog nya daw yung kids. Okay. I know naman the kids are priority pero what about me? I was crying on the grab back to Taguig.

There's been other scenarios like this, one of his other priorities is RDOT (Rest day OT), I mean I get and I understand he needs money. For sustento, for going out with the kids, for car payment, cat and motor maintenance, insurance + other misc stuff. But idk. Like tomorrow, my family will be having a grad dinner for Hann, and he said he can't come kasi he has to RDOT. WHICCHHHH IF he really wants to, he can RDOT early, we can gym early para lang makasama. IFFFF he really wants. But I guess, not. So okay.

I've just been thinking about this whole relationship a lot recently. a lot if idk moments. I find myself detaching and not relying on him being present on these things. And other things in general. He would usually say, "lakad mo naman yan.". Which I think means a great deal to me. I consider us as one na kasi, which is normal naman when you're in a relationship diba? I get we still need to have separate lives pero idk. Push lang ba? Nakakalungkot kasi I think we're good together, and dami lang nya talagang other priorities and I come at the bottom.

I'm afraid if I bring these up, we'd realize it's better to be just friends/room mates?. If I bring these up, I know he's make me feel bad about feeling this way. I've thought, what if we don't live together, would this still work out? Princess said, I was the one making this relationship work. Like even before moving in together sa FTI, I was always staying in his and Nate's place already. I actually asked him this and he thinks it's going to work out naman. He's find a way na magkita kami. Pero with all the stuff he's dealing with, idk. Baka ako yung umayaw and just find someone new. I give him credit, too, pero those words got to me. I find myself asking, until when am I going to be at the bottom of his priorities? I keep telling myself things would get better. It's hard but I want to believe it, too.
