Hi everyone. I am a 33 yo female living with my boyfriend, Martin, and our 2 dogs, Pongo & Perdie. Mid March '17 I was diagnosed with Chronic Cholecystitis meaning my gallbladder is full of stones and it is rendering my gallbladder unable to function and I am in excruciating pain 99.9% of the time. Our goverment health care in South Africa is terrible and I lost my medical aid after being retrenched, so I am reliant on paying my own doctors fees, meds etc. Having it removed will cost a lot and my weekly pain medication is about $100-150/week. I wouldn't ask if I wasn't desperate. I don't make a lot of money and this whole thing is already costed me so much! On the 7th of May I went back to the doctor with extra abdominal pain and she said the galbladder is infected. I was put on antibiotics and told that if it happens again to rush to the ER because it is life threatning. It happened again Tuesday night and the 3 days in State was HORRIBLE. From meds that nearly killed me to no working pain meds to being discharged after no assistance. My op is npoked for 20 July but I am terrified I don't make it until then or they cancel again. Both my parents passed away a long time ago and I am an only child so I don't have money I can borrow from family and my credit rating due to retrenchment is too low for a loan.
