Sparking charcoal au This is inspired by fanart from @rolyat-insonia for the charcoal rivers by aglobzzy.  And I was inspired to put the haf Fox makes on Genya by @chichiriyarts fox mask nezuko AU. and the watermelon draw was in inspired @mjtheartist04

This is an au were after the shinazugawa's demon insadent. And genya was left to fend for himself Tanjiro's mother adopted him in the kamado house. genya shinazugawa/kamado he uses ether last name interchangeably or combines them on paper work. He never wants to give up ether family ties. Becomes the demon out of the 3 survivors of Kamado's house-holed. Due to how Genya's jeans would allow him to eat demons and become partially demon to gain their strength. His body would eventually adapt to being a demon better. I think when he gains his sense of self again. He has more control over himself. plus his diet of eating demons. This leads him away from the desire of wanting to eat humans. The smell of human blood smells wrong after a while. He still does have the temptation earlier on in the story that's why he has the muzzle and now his mask. but around the red light district ark, he's nearly lost any temptation of humans. P.S. Genya over the years helping Nezuko and their -kamado- mother has learned how to do hairstyles but basic ones. But still knows enough to do Nezuko's and Tanjiro's hair. they both keep their hair long enough so Genya can mess with it. it is one of the bonding things they do to relax.

Genya Shinazugawa/kamado is the eldest son -by 4 months~- adopted into the Kamado family. Even so, on the most front, Tanjiro acts as the family's eldest son. Genya doesn't mind too much due to him already having an older brother. Genya is more used to being more of a supporter anyway. Genya and Nezuko tag team taking care of the younger siblings to help their Mom. Genya likes to make warning stories about demons in the dead of night to prevent the younger siblings from getting eaten. Nezuko normally has to wack him on the head to stop him from scaring them too much. Tanjiro finds the stories pretty fun and doesn't take them too seriously.

the day that Tanjiro left to sell charcoal. Genya felt that something was off and tried to get Nezuko to go with Tanjiro but she refused pointing out that there was too much work left to be done at the home. Genya didn't push it -he wished he did-. 

When Tanjiro got back he saw the massacre of the Kamado family, his family. He was devastated but then he heard something he heard crying.��  

Tanjiro nearly fell over running to the sound he saw Nezuko crying over Genya's body. when Tanjiro was sleeping in Mister Saburo's house. Genya was outside the house looking at where the stars were supposed to be. The cloudy night hiding most of them. He was a bit far from the Kamado house trying to see if Tanjiro was coming. Nezuko wandered out with a blanket for Genya knowing he might stay out a little longer waiting for Tanjiro. Genya thanks Nezuko before both of them hear a torrent of screams coming from their home. Genya quickly covers Nezuko in the white blanket telling her to hide while he goes to the house to see what's going on. Nezuko tried to protest but Genya wasn't hearing it.He hid her and went back home. Nezuko waiting nearly leaves her hiding spot before feeling a force of fear running down her back like ice water. The smell of blood fills the air. The creature's presence overwhelming and crushing her. Even though it wasn't near. made Nezuko pass out.

 leading to now. Nezuko was in shock. But when she saw Tanjiro she cried for help saying "Genya's body was still warm."

KNY Time Travel AU

Notes about time travel au (hashira kamaboko squad):

Tanjiro

He learned that the longer his hair was the more pissed Muzan gets so he let's it grow out. However he can't handle it too long so it's stays a little over shoulder length and he ties it up

Mastered sun breathing and tried out the other breathing forms to make up for the fact he learned through unconventional means. Aka. He knows moves from all the other forms

A little bit of demon blood in him because of his brief (attempted) possession. Enough to cause him to be slightly more demonic than humans. Heals faster.

Zenitsu

Still wails and whines but mostly performatively

Will gear shift in an instant to seieous mode and it's terrifying to witness

Wasn't able to master the other forms of thunder breathing so he modified into his own style raiden (lit. Thunder and Lightning) aka Thunderstorm breathing to fill in the gaps.

Nezuko once complimented him about his long hair and he's committed to that ever since

Inosuke

Eventually realized people kept thinking he was a demon when he wore the mask so they compromised and he wear it on his shoulder now. He still occasionally wears it.

Had a brief obsession with learning all the manners so he can disregard them on purpose

He's learned to consider consequences, not that he spend a lot of time doing that but still

Got coerced into wearing a bit more cover ups by the squad a la goading and compliments

Nezuko

Half human half demon, wasn't fully cured

She tried to learn a breathing style and managed to somewhat grasp water and flower but she's not as talented as tanjiro in sword fighting

In a fight, she prefers tantos and daggers, if not directly hand to hand

She excels in tactics, the team eventually realized she should be planning the fights

She is able to control all the boys, no one questions the Nezuko

Genya

Thanks to Nezuko's antibodies and Tamayo's efforts, he's okay when he uses his abilities

While not able to use a breathing style still, he's made up for it by training and skills. He's making a mostly a marksman of the group, with phenomenal aim and wisteria bullets made by Kanao

Full mastery over his abilities and is able to control how much power it uses and how long it lasts

Wears Sanemi's outfit…

Lowkey kinda died but managed to get revived…🤔

Kanao

Emulates Kanae and Shinobu to an extent but she's more open about how she's feeling

Changed her cape into a floral orchid haori

She still has her coin but it's mostly for cool factor™️ now

Learned medical and poisons and demonology eventually

worked with Yushiro to try and develop a cure for the curse of the demon slayer marks

So I'm answering this question from @fluididentity Okay but how does Sanemi react during the trial??? -I was going to answer it in the notes where they asked it. Well, it got really long. So here.-

I am planning to draw more about this au and this idea is one of them. But that might be a second. So yeah Sanemi wouldn't know it was his little brother Genya. Because 1 he has been separated from Genya for years now and probably has heard at least Genya's name before with a different person. plus the crows probably called Genya's name Genya Kamado. Because calling his full name Genya Shinazugawa-kamado is so long I have problems saying it sometimes. I don't want to imagine a Kasugai crow trying to say that all. And even if he thought it for a second. That might be his brother. do you think that he would want to believe that his brother is a demon now? No… he would deny it with all his heart.

So he would act the same for most of the trial. think it's a demon just like his poor mother or any other demon that causes him and so many people pain and suffering. So the stabbing of the box with Genya in it would still happen. And saying all of those awful things.Nezuko and Tanjiro would cry out to Genya and try to stop him. Tanjiro head buts Sanemi - like in the show- and Nezuko kicks him swiping the box away from him. Nezuko and Tanjiro would have less injury from the Spider Mountain. Nezuko and Tanjiro stick together the best they can. intell the separation event with the spider demon father. So they fight with Sanemi and the other Hashira a bit more. But Sanemi tossing the box in the building to test the demon still happens the same kinda. Sanemi cuts himself before the box opens.

Then the shoe drops. Genya with the fox mask shakily stands up. And Sanemi's smile of teaching a demon their place shakes. Genya still passes the trial. But due to how high Genya's emotions are. Hearing Sanemi's voice again over so many years. Just for Sanemi to hurt him and how his siblings had to fight one another. Genya only could get out "Nemi?". In such a confused voice. Not sure what to do but denies his own brother's blood.

Sanemi would feel like something was shaking and breaking in him. He had hoped beyond all hope that Genya found a new life away from him. Safe and sound. But he just stabbed him. Calling for his death. And proving that he can resist human blood. his own brother's Orochi blood. If Genya failed he would have to kill his last family member. Let's just say Sanemi did not talk much after seeing Genya. A whirlwind of emotions in him. feeling like he failed Genya. And how he could do that to him. Anger coursed through him the most. Why him? why Genya!? What happened and why couldn't those two take his place?

Do the Pint Sized Pillars have any nicknames from each other or the other characters? Everyone calls Gyomei "Mei mei" so I am wondering if the other kids have any nicknames

oh yes! im probably forgetting a few but heres what comes to mind:

all the little kids call Gyomei “Mei-Mei…” otherwise, most of them still refer to him as Mr. Himejima, even when he’s mentally acting younger (the only exception is Kagaya, who calls Gyomei by his first name… everyone respects and admires him too much, so they often get nervous calling him anything else)

Muichiro is “Mui” and Shinobu is “Nobu.” everyone calls them that + more. they get more of the baby nicknames; Muichiro hates most of the nicknames because of how much they infantilize him, so they rarely stick. Gyomei also refers to them as “Baby Bunny” and “Caterpillar” respectively, and Tengen calls Shinobu “Bu-Bu” (this results in her shrieking a high pitched shriek to hurt his ears). Genya calls Muichiro things like “little terror” and “menace” /aff

Tengen is usually called “Tenny.” it’s a nickname the girls gave him, but all the boys (aside from Gyomei, unless he’s feeling sassy) will use it to tease him a bit

Sanemi is often called “Nems” by Tengen and Shinobu. Gyomei also gives him the name “Wolf Pup” whenever he’s little. but Obanai and Muichiro call him “Sami” … Genya still calls him “Aniki”

speaking of Obanai, he’s gets a lot of nicknames. most kids call him “Obi,” but he’s also been called “Ro-Ro” (Kyojuro) and “Baby Cat” (Gyomei)… Tengen and Sanemi also refer to him as their “little buddy” and “sidekick” … he’s also called “Snake Boy” and “Hatchling” by Genya and Tengen’s wives

Kyojuro has some special nicknames too. Obanai calls him “Yo-Wo” and Mitsuri calls him “Squash” and “Bubba…” despite being younger atm, Senjuro refers to him as “big brother.”

as for Mitsuri, she’s “Squish” (Kyojuro) and “Mitsu” (Shinobu + Tengen)… Muichiro calls her “Mimi” and will babble it over and over and over because he likes how it sounds. Tengen’s wives all call her “Lovebug!”

Giyuu… all the younger kids call him “Yu-Yu” and “Tomi.” Shinobu and Sanemi also gives him names like Dummy and etc. Tengen likes calling him “Baby Blue” and the name stuck with the wives + Tanjiro. Urokodaki usually calls him “my boy” and such!

tengen and his wives are mostly responsible for all the more creative nicknames. otherwise it’s mostly shortened names like “Bud” or “Sweetie” etc etc
