Oliver Raschka The Odyssey of Youth

The captivating photographs of Oliver Raschka document the life of his two sons as they grow from infancy to teenage. His images of boyhood and early adolescence are deeply resonant yet tantalisingly uncertain. It is as if we recognise the scenes we see – the energy, the interaction, the quicksilver of emotion – and yet can only imagine how it might feel once more to be a child or begin the journey into adolescence. And it is this that gives these images their emotional pull. They ask us to enter the dance of memory and childhood once more; to feel the rhythm of the past even as the steps that might lead us back elude us. For Oliver Raschka does not frame the images according to an adult memory of childhood, but simply observes and records what comes to pass. And, in that transparency of intent, catches in the moment a glinting flash of that distant place of childhood from whence the odyssey of adolescence begins.

Halli Hallo hallöchen , lange lange ist es her das ich etwas gepostet , geteilt habe. Ich weiß Shame on me , aber manchmal gibt es einfach die die wesentlich wichtiger sind als hier zu #influenzen. Die wie Familie stehen bei mir an erster Stelle, Dinge wie Frau und Kinder. Wie manche es auch mitbekommen haben sind wir seit 23.12.2021 stolze Besitzer eines #Reihenhaus in der wunderschönen @stadtoehringen. Viele Kundinnen fragen mich dann teilweise ob ich überhaupt noch nach Hessen kommen?! Meine Antwort dazu: ja auf jeden Fall. Ich besitze zwar kein Studio mehr aber wir können trotzdem wunderschöne Bilder drausen wie drinnen ( bei euch zu Hause machen ). Oder ich bringe ein mobiles Studio mit. There’s a meditative part. Scantiness of supper doesn’t mean scantiness of life or poverty. The table is set for one. We come alone to the end of our life, yet we are one-on-one with the divine, merging with this world. It is a period of transition. It is then when all matter extinguishes and loses its meaning. Our spirit, I believe, reaches the top. It deals with acceptance or denial. A set of items is simple and symbolic: a fish is a symbol of Christ, potatoes (the second bread) is the base (the body) and the floating around aura of spirit, black tea - a beverage meant not for simple quenching of one’s thirst, but for reflections. 🥔 “Поздний ужин» Вечер (пожилой возраст/завершение) - созерцание, успокоение. Медитативная часть. Скудность ужина, не говорит о скудности жизни или о бедности. Скупой, точный отбор предметов. Стол накрыт на одну персону.
