My brain is so full of Bees about Post-Shift 2.
It's a fan game that was delayed for 4 years -- by the time it released, fnaf fangames as a whole were not as popular as they had been, & most people in the scene had forgotten about Post-Shift 1, so not a lot of people heard about it/played it.
Worse still is the people who did talk about the game. Pretty unanimously, the consensus was this: this game is the craziest, most insane fnaf fangame. It's overly difficult with mechanics that have no rhyme or reason to them & tutorials that are wordy, unhelpful, & sometimes actively mislead the player, meaning you need to comb through a lot of text only to be misinformed. It's not as infamous as some other fangames, but it definitely was talked about very poorly.
In general, I think most of these criticisms were blown up out of proportion, but I can't really disagree with most people's problems -- it is difficult & wordy, & rather hard to understand. I think, however, that the game is still 1. Really fun, 2. Not a bad game at all, &, most importantly, 3. Is a free fucking game that was clearly a passion project. Most damn fangames never get off the fucking ground when made in groups because the creators will never make a red cent off the thing -- this game was made by one dude for 4 years & delivered to people for free. It didn't ask anything of you except to accept it as a difficult game & to not go in with wild expectations. The dev just wanted to make a game that was rough, but he also wanted to make a game that felt unique & was fun. & It is fun, too, is the damn thing.
#em.txt#ps2 post#post-shift 2#i obviously am biased#i also obviously have more to say#but for now i think this is a start. i think this is fine so far.#i got counter arguments i was gonna type about the problems#bc tbh i think the difficulty isn't as big a problem as the difficult curve -- it starts very high for a fangame#bc it assumed you know what they're like. you know how fangames work. but it over assumes that all the mechanics#work at the same frequency as other fangame#the difficulty curve of night 1 is pretty tough place to start which turned a lot of people off#especially with how long & unclear th tutorials are & of course night 1's tutorial starting with a character that is unused in that night#it's rough. night 2 is even tougher. but night 3 is a cakewalk once you beat 2 bc it only adds 2 threats#so you might expect the next night to be as easy or even easier & in my eyes yeah -- night 4 is easier than 1 even#except that it's completely different & is asking the player to learn a new game entirely which is its own difficulty#but i can crank out a night 4 easy peasy no prolem. so you might expect night 5 to be even easier right? WRONG#WRONG WRONG WRRRONNNGG even people who know what they are doing struggle#because a mechanic in the game actively increases the difficulty as the difficulty is increased which is EVIL#& night 6 is even harder i have seen 3 people beat night 6 it is absurd#i sat in a call with another PS2 fan who clearly played thr game s lot & loved it but they could not beat the night normally#& this night has fucking optional difficulty modifiers when you finish that make it harder it is hell on earth#there is no checkpoints it is bad it is so bad I haven't beaten it i talk abt this game every day i play all the nights#i do not fucking play this night bc the way the tutorial works is unreal & unhelpful it wants you to remember#all this shit but it removes the 'walk around & click things before the night starts to see how they work/where they are'#& then it changes every 2 hours to something new so you won 12-2 but you hit 2 & forgot this one person's mechanic#but the only way to read the tutorial again is to close the game bc it automatically puts you back into the night#& will not take you to the home screen to view the booklet for night 6 it's insane#so yeah. there is difficulty. but the difficulty curve being this inconsistent is worse tbh#i get night 6 is meant to be like a 'everyone is here!' bossfight but it's overwhelming & there is too damn much

We are BACK. Sorta. Welcome to Episode 3 of Season 2 of Waku Puyo Translations.

(I have too many pages.)
Hello, one and all, Gren here. Welcome back to Translations, a 2 month gap is finally done. Now why did that gap happen?
School. I'm in my final year of it before I go to college, and I've been focusing really hard on it recently, been studying a lot more as of late, which leaves less time to make translation posts, but normal posts tend to be just fine. I hope you understand.
We're finally back to doing one of these, I PROMISE I haven't forgotten about it at all. I've just been busy. The school year ends in June, so...maybe there'll be more posts? Who knows.
But anywho, we're back for a bit. Here's the video in question:

Intro:
Arle:
Eh? What happened to you?
Skeleton-T:
Ocha!
A dragon and some little kid appeared and kicked me outta the place.
Arle:
...What? A dragon and a kid, you sure it wasn't Kodomo Dragon?
Skeleton-T:
No, the dragon wasn't that cute.
And the kid looked like he was on an adventure rather than just riding it.
It reminded me of you two.
Arle:
Hmm... (What does that MEAN?)
What happened to the dragon?
Skeleton-T:
They went even further into the 5th floor of the PuyoPuyo Dungeon.
Arle:
Eh? There's more floors in there?
Skeleton-T:
Without 3 orbs, you can't enter there.
You're prohibited to go in there otherwise.
Arle:
Aha... I see now.
Hey, I got business with that dragon, so can I enter?
Skeleton-T:
Eh, I don't mind at all.
Arle:
Alright, thanks!
-----
Rulue Scene:
Rulue:
Oh dear, it's Arle. Seems like you've cleared this place too.
Arle:
So I guess you also cleared this place as well?
Rulue:
Of course I have! This place was such a cakewalk.
Arle:
Err...I had a pretty tough time myself.
Rulue:
Oh-hohoho! Is that so? Maybe it's because you're so pathetically frail.
One little nudge, and you're done for.
...Honestly, it's quite a miracle that someone as frail as you got through the first two dungeons.
Arle:
Thats outrageous! Why would you say that?
Rulue:
I'm not wrong. Best of luck to you, though.
Arle:
I know I'm not a fighter compared to Rulue, but...
You didn't have to go THAT far, did you...?
----
Schezo Scene:
Arle:
Oh, Schezo!
Schezo:
Hmpf, Arle...
Arle:
Hey, I cleared this place as well!
Schezo:
Uh, great job, I guess?
Arle:
...Are you sure you're happy to hear that?
Schezo:
Why should I be THAT happy to you?
Arle:
Because we're friends, right?
Schezo:
Us? Friends? What're you on about!?
Arle:
I dunno why you're so against it...you have no real friends, don't you?
Schezo:
Friends are just a waste of time, and I'm not really one to hang out with people.
Arle:
Aw, don't say that... you're lonely, aren't you?
Schezo:
You're a persistent one. Even if I could, I won't hang out with you...
Arle:
And he's gone... Schezo's a strange one, isn't he?
----
3 Orb Opening:
Arle:
Hm? What does this say...
(They who have 3 orbs, raise them to open this door.)
Arle:
Open? I have 3 orbs, should I bring them out?
(Arle raised the 3 orbs.)
Oh, yay! It opened! We can go in now!
Carbuncle:
Gugugu!
---
Dragon Boss:
Arle:
Oh, I found ya! I didn't know we went here at the same time...
Dragon:
Grrr...
Arle:
What're ya scared of? It's okay, I'm not scary.
Dragon:
Graaaa!
Arle:
Oh, he's angry... Why do I have to fight a dragon now!?
---
Dragon Defeat:
Arle:
Phew, guess I win. C'mon, let's get you home!
Dragon;
Mmmmm...
[Panotty enters the fray. Somehow.]
Panotty:
What did you do to my friend!?
Arle:
What the!?
Panotty:
I've been looking all over, but I finally found him...
You're awful for beating them up!
Dragon:
Graaaa! [Like I know how dragons sound. Imagine like. Rayquaza.]
Panotty:
What's up, buddy? It's me, remember?
Dragon:
Grrrr...
Panotty:
...Hey, listen to this!
[He starts to play the flute]
Dragon:
(ROAR) [...Fun.]
Panotty:
W-wha... Normally, the flute works at calming him down.
Arle:
...Hey, are you two really friends?
Panotty:
Eh?
Arle:
You were using your flute to control him, weren't you?
Panotty:
... ... ...
Arle:
... They didn't want to be here.
Yet you forced them here with your music. They're scared, you know.
Panotty:
B-But...But...
Arle:
If you can't friend him without the flute, then you have no business calling him your friend!
Panotty:
... ... ...
Arle:
...Come on. Let's bring Dragon back home.
Panotty:
No, not yet! Even though we just became friends... [I guess meaning the dragon.]
Arle:
Fine, I'll bring him myself.
Then again, if I was the one to separate you two, then you'd never have the chance of becoming proper friends.
Panotty:
... ... ...
Arle:
...You okay?
Panotty:
I'll bring him back. Because we're friends...
Arle:
Really? You sure you can do that?
Panotty:
Yeah, I sure can!
Dragon:
(ROAR) [In a more happy tone IG]
Arle:
Those two... I hope they become true friends!
Carbuncle;
Gu!
----
Sasori Man Scene
Sasori Man:
Hey, the dragon's back!
Arle:
Wait, it's back?
Sasori Man:
Yeah, but they're doing better, thanks to your help.
Arle:
Err... that kid ... did you see him as well?
Sasori:
Oh, Panotty? They were together, yeah.
I was shocked myself when I saw how well they got along.
Now, they're working near the gates.
Arle:
Ah...that's good to hear!
Sasori:
Rather than just thanking you, I wanna give you this.
Arle:
A VIP card? What for...?
Sasori Man:
Now you can enter Wonder Jungle.
I got stuff to do, so I'll leave ya be.
Arle:
Nice, now we can get into the new attraction!
Carbuncle:
Gu!

How to Use Traps: (Cont.)
Arle:
What the!? What're we doing here...?
Biki:
You know, even traps can be very powerful when put in the right hands.
For example, if you use a Scroll of Sealing, you can trap enemies where they stand.
Arle:
Oh, that's cool! I never knew that...
Biki;
...Then you may as well learn it by trying it yourself.
(She leaves and enemies spawn)
Arle:
Hey, where are you going!?
Geez, there's no way I'll be able to beat such powerful enemies!
---
End:
Biki:
...Congrats, you did well.
Arle:
Not really, no...
Biki:
...
Arle:
...Uhh...
Biki:
...We're done here.
Arle:
Eh?
Biki:
I said we're DONE here!
Arle:
(Why did THAT make her so upset...?)

Oh, it feels nice to do these again. Free time is the BEST. But that'll be all for now.
Adios.

My Hero Academia chapter 1 to 7 review
When the anime adaptation was announced, I decided to check out the manga in order to avoid the infamous âThe manga is better!â line. When I first read the first volume, I dropped MHA. By the time the tournament arc was coming to a close in the anime, I had almost forgotten why I despised the first volume. So, I started to read about the Internship arc due to the temptation of the heroes losing. I also decided to attempt a revaluation of the first volume in order to see why exactly did it suck.
Colour me surprised! Something tickled my fancy!
I consider All Might to be an interesting character. In chapter 1 he came off as cynical jerk when he told Deku he couldnât be a hero since not 20 seconds before he did he had said that he lies to himself on a regular basis. Once he starts training Izuku for UAâs entrance exam, we see that heâs really just a bitter old man, who doesnât like the new generation of heroes due to their obsession with fame & money. All Might is an interesting spin of the classical goody two shoes hero, who most have seen in some incarnation. Despite being capable enough to lower the crime rate marginally, he canât change other pro heroes to view their jobs as honors like him, instead of jobs or a means to an end.
Another positive would be the weaknesses our mentor-student duo have. All Might can use his quirk for only 3 hours a day due to a severe injury. Meanwhile, Deku canât control his new quirk because he used to be quirkless. The assigned limitations are more than welcome as One for All is a very overpowered quirk. Of course, when Deku learned how to activated One for All only in his finger from a metaphor about an egg in a microwave, a shift to the other spectrum of my review is needed.
What grinds my gears:
At the center of MHAâs downsides is Deku quite literally. The narrative superglues itself to Deku to the point that only characters who happen to be around Deku will get screen time. For an example lets use All Might, Ida and Bakugo. The greatest similarity they share is that they didnât acknowledge Deku at first. After Deku tried to save someone their opinion of Deku changed for the better. Despite the significant affect Dekuâs act of kindness had on these characters, none of these characters got the screen time they needed in order to reestablish themselves as better people. Iâll exemplify them in the order of least blatant to most blatant. 1st°: All Might doesnât know what to do. -Deku tries to save Bakugo- -All Might starts acting more like a hero- -All Might tells Deku he can become a hero & starts training him- Instead of focusing on what the encounter with the Sludge villain meant for All Might, as he intended to make Deku his successor due to this battle alone, we are stuck with Deku or future!Deku (I will never understand this.) narrating the events that took place after the Sludge villain was defeated. Aforementioned narration is 100% insight free for all characters except Deku, which doesnât help solidify Deku as a worthy successor when All Might was searching for 5 years with no results to speak of. 2nd°: Bakugo is controlled by the Sludge villain. -Deku saves him- -Bakugo doesnât bully Deku like he used to (heâs more bark than bite)- Will he get more screen time? Will we see what he thinks of Deku after he saved him? Why did he mellow down a bit? How did he score so many point in the entrance exam? Why is he so good at fighting? What kind of training did he do before the entrance exam? Why is he the deuteragonist if all of my previous questions were not answered? 3rd°: Ida ran away from the giant robot -Deku rescues Uraraka from the robot- -Ida starts to question if he would do the same thing Deku did- -before Ida can finish his sentence we cut to Deku- This one was so in your face that right there was when I noticed how narrow MHAâs narrative really is.Â
Whatâs the deal with Deku?
The issue I have with Deku is not his personality, but how the narrative treats him. Like I mentioned before Deku hogs the spotlight from other character as if he is the most interesting character to have graced us. When in actuality he is the bare bones protagonist type, whose purpose is to emphasize the complexity of the characters around him. Deku like 95% of protagonists is restricted in the personality traits he has (thereâs something about him being a nerd, but when plot stuff is going on he turns into a virtuous hero with no flaws (I think the nerd aspect of his âpersonalityâ was added in for pandering)). The worst part is that MHA does use Deku for initiating character development...until the spotlight comes back to Deku & Iâm left in the dark about what these characters went through or are still going through in their next scene. What I mean is that itâs teasing me about potentially amazing character writing & then it doesnât deliver on any of it.
The main reason, which caused me to drop MHA in the first place, was the great obsession MHA has with quirks. I swear that even All for One (the man whose bread & butter is stealing quirks) talks less about quirks than Deku or any other random character in MHA. You could say MHA was addicted to the concept of quirks. Iâm not joking here. This addiction was so intense that MHA was no longer about a quirkless boy, who wants to be a hero in a world where the quirkless are looked down upon. It became about a kid with an OP superpower trying to not kill himself with it, while going to the most prestigious hero school in Japan. I donât understand why they did this. The first page says âNot all men are born equal.â. So, wasnât MHA trying to prove this first line wrong? Everybody in MHA thinks that quirkless people canât be heroes, no matter how nice or horrid they are as people (All Might, Midoriyaâs mom, Midoriyaâs junior high teachers, Bakugo). I know that Deku got his superpower through worthiness unlike everybody else, who got theirs by chance, but what were the chances that All Mightâs quirk was transferable? What were the odds that All Might would meet Deku? What were the odds of Deku being the one to walk pass the Sludge villain while going home? What were the chances that All Might didnât find somebody else to be his apprentice before he met Deku? By this logic Deku also got his quirk through luck. Not to mention that the whole âDeku is worthyâ shtick isnât done that well like I said in 1st°. Furthermore, Deku having a quirk contradicts the moral MHA started out with. âYou can be a hero without a quirk.â changed to âYou can be a hero if you have a quirk.â. When I first read MHA, I expected it to have a theme of discrimination like the X-men and that was MHAâs main theme. After you-know-what happened the quirkless were unceremoniously shoved into the background. A quirkless hero? No, it doesnât exsist. Surely our righteous protagonist wouldnât simply accept One for All without questioning if itâs the right thing to do due to the horrible experiences he had while quirkless? He accepts it. No questions were asked. Maybe weâll see more quirkless people since every 5th person in the world is quirkless? Check the MHA wiki for the list of quirkless characters. If Iâm being frank, this shift in moral is simply rotten to the core. Until I read MHA I thought I knew hypocrisy, but MHA is a level I believed to be an exaggeration.
This post is still valid.(link)
Another major factor in my initial disatisfaction with Vol. 1 was & still is Aizawaâs character. Unlike my annoyance with Deku, my problem with Aizawa lies entirely in his personality. When introduced, Aizawa scolds his students for socializing, taking 8 seconds to shut up & promises to expel the student who places last in a physical test because one of the kids displayed excitement. These actions make him come off as nitpicky to an unfair extent. To top of my great first impression of him, he wants to allow quirk usage in PE, when he himself doesnât have a quirk which can come in handy in a physical exam. Besides the travesty this ingenious idea represents to the quirkless, it also effects those whose quirks canât be utilized in a physical exam & donât even get me started on the property damage. In contrast to All Might Aizawa has a more darwinistic mentality, which is reflected in the quirk evaluation test. To specify, he doesnât care if the kids are only doing it for fame & money or if they have the traits of a true hero like All Might does. Aizawa is primarily interested in the results to the point where he deems those who fall beneath an unspecified quota to be idealistic half-asses. If youâve seen either GTO or Assassination Classroom, you may remember that Aizawaâs teaching style is the kind these shows tried to shun & disapproved of in general. Onizuka & Koro-sensei are the antithesis to Aizawa mainly because they genuinely cares about their students. They know that how the kids grow up is more important for them than a test & want them to become better human beings, which both go to great lengths to accomplish. The concept of their students failing them doesnât exist while Aizawa will fail & scrutinize his students only if they donât meet his expectations.
Why didnât Aizawa expel Deku? Remember the only Deku has screen time curse I ranted on and on about? They did it with Aizawa. No insight was given for us to see the person that he is. No defining reason was given on why he expelled 154 students. However, Aizawa is a different case from All Might, Ida & Bakugo in this regard. The primary difference between them is the foundation for their character development. The 3 stooges I mentioned have one a.k.a. experiencing Dekuâs heroic deed, but Aizawa doesnât. Aizawa didnât experience Dekuâs heroism like the three of them & by all means Deku should have been expelled. The only answer I have is that Dekuâs plot armor is so strong that it can force Aizawa to break character or Horikoshi wrote himself into a corner with Aizawa.
The gibberish of My Hero Academia This is the part where I express my inter Cinema Sins-wannabe by listing the other things MHA did wrong or didnât do at all like an explanation. Iâm not going to detail why I consider them faults as I can stand them more or less unlike the issues I covered above. However, if youâd like me to expand upon anyone of them, send me the number & Iâll tell you what I meant (The same goes for all other parts of this review). The list is mostly in chronological order.
#1 Why arenât there any superhero teams? #2 Why arenât there any quirkless people in Izukuâs junior high? #3 Why is everybody a jerk to Deku? #4 Why didnât Izukuâs mom lie to him? #5 Why was the Sludge villain waiting for someone to walk by? #6 How did All Might put the Sludge villain in a bottle? #7 Why didnât All Might lie to Deku? #8 Why did All Might trust Deku with his secret? #9 How is All Might even alive right now? #10 Why did All Might chase the Sludge villain for 3 whole hours? #11 Why is heroism so dependent on quirks? #12 Why couldnât Mt Lady shrink a bit in order to fight the Sludge villain? #13 Isnât the firefighting hero the one with an advantageous quirk? #14 How is Deku able to make eye-contact with Bakugo? #15 How did Deku get pass Death Arms? #16 Why didnât any of the other heroes intervene before Deku was 3 seconds away from certain death? #17 Did All Might kill the Sludge villain? #18 Why is One for All so OP? #19 Why was nothing explained about the Sludge villain or his quirk? #20 Why are they praising Bakugo? #21 Isnât putting your life in danger due to adrenaline/shock the same as laughing uncontrollably due to adrenaline/shock? #22 Why did they spoil the ending? #23 Why arenât there any quirkless heroes? #24 Why arenât any other hero schools besides UA mentioned? #25 How is Midoriya not dead? #26 Why did Bakugo tell Deku to shut up if he started their conversation? #27 How is Deku distracting Ida? #28 Why is MHA willing to risk getting a lawsuit from Nintendo, but doesnât kill of any of the characters who have screen time? #29 Why is video game logic being used in a school for heroics? #30 Why does this exam sound like something Shigaraki & Stain would design? #31 Why didnât All Might give Deku his quirk earlier? #32 Why didnât Uraraka float away from the robot? #33 Who controls the robots? #34 How did Midoriya not faint from his injuries? #35 How was Midoriya still able to think clearly through the pain of his broken limbs? #36 Why didnât Uraraka look up how to not vomit before the practical exam? #37 Why was Deku able to properly heal from his injuries? #38 Why is everybody so obsessed with quirks? #39 Why is Izuku still training if he knows he didnât get into UA? #40 Why did Uraraka get less rescue points than Izuku? #41 Why is Deku always paired up with Bakugo (in the story)? #42 If you need to be muscular, so One for All doesnât kill you, how is All Might still using it? #43 Why did Aizawa have a PE uniform with him? #44 How is UA still in business if they allow teachers to expel students for the most pettiest reasons? #45 Why didnât Aizawa get fired if he expelled 154 students? #46 Why did class 1B get less powerful students? #47 Why couldnât All Might find out who was Dekuâs homeroom teacher earlier? #48 How does Deku accomplish anything with All Might as his mentor? #49 Why is Aizawa questioning how Deku got into UA? #50 How are Aizawaâs bandages floating? #51 How are quirks activated in general? #52 How can a teacher afford a scarf made out of nanofiber? #53 Why did Deku hang out with Bakugo when they were kids? #54 How did Hagakure & Jiro get into UA? #55 Why did Deku need to use his quirk during Aizawaâs exam? #56 How did Uraraka not know that Deku was an insult? #57 Why are they teaching them normal school subjects?
All in all, I can now finally use this: #Volume1IsHell What? I made reviews for less.
#My Hero Academia#Coop's reading adventures#Volume 1 is hell#At least it gets more mediocre from here on out#Getting even a 5 or 6 isn't a cakewalk#I always felt like Bakugo's character development was odd#like something was missing#I probably may not mention much of Ida & Uraraka until the Tournament arc#I don't know much about art or how to place panels in a manga#so I won't critique it#Maybe I should have tagged this as Coop's salt instead

You know, playing through the Gen 8 game (Sword up to the 6th gym)-
I really don't get the shitstorm that surrounded these games.
"They cut a bunch of the Pokemon!"
Cool. Not only will your average player only use a select few but thanks to the transfers usually being locked to the post game, you weren't gonna use them anyway. They also added in most Pokemon via updates anyway.
Also, until recently, I didn't have the money and/or consistent internet access to use Pokemon Bank so 'Dexit' for me happened in Gen 6.
"The gyms are too easy!"
Dude, they've been a cakewalk since Gen 4. Gen 5 can barely be assed to put up a fight with Lenona. And even then, they've never been particularly difficult.
"The story's bad!"
Yeah, I spoiled myself on the story and-
It's better than Gens 2 and 3's story. Gen 4 is kind of carried by the stakes and Gen 5 was the first truly good story in mainline Pokemon.
Like I get cutting Mega Evolution completely and certain moves but compared to Gen 6 and, excluding huge leaps in game mechanics, Gens 2 and 3 this isn't that bad.

So Jason Todd's Age makes no freaking sense.
So I know this topic is just going to ooze discourse but I need a freaking answer. How old is Jason Todd as the Red Hood? I've seen so many conflicting things online and no one seems to have a straight answer (doesn't help that DC Comics themselves doesn't seem to know either)

So it's pretty much generally accepted that Jason was 15 when he died. In most depictions via comics or live action movies like Under the Red Hood or A Death in the Family, I can clearly see that Jason is a boy in his mid teens. Not many people debate this.
But here's where things get sticky...
When Jason is resurrected (either from Superboy Prime in the Pre-New 52/Lost Days Arc or the Under the Red Hood Arc) he still is 15. He's still physically the same age as the day he died. And some depictions say it's only been about a year between his death and the resurrection, some say it's been 5 years. But what we have in Red Hood: Lost Days does line up with what we know.

You take a look here and you can clearly see a 15-16 year old boy. The next phases of Lost Days also makes sense in terms of a transition in terms of puberty/growth and development. Jason also took his dip in the Lazarus Pit at this point.

I can take a look at this and say yes. This is a kid aged anywhere between 17-18. I think the Lost Days comic mentions he's about 16 or so in this part of the comic and I can see it too.

And this is right before he dons the Red Hood persona. Now Jason I'd argue looks about 17-18 at the VERY low end of this. And this preludes Under the Red Hood.
Now I wanna take a brief moment to focus on the Death in the family movie. Because this is where things just become an absolute fucking trip. Depending on which route you take Jason is still 15 during the events of Bosnia (from the UTRH Universe) and is out of commission for at least a few months to recover.
Whether you chose to have Jason become Red Hood (or Red Robin, or Hush) Jason STILL packs on at least 6-7 inches what must be at least 40-50lbs of straight muscle in the span of MONTHS. Because his build still isn't all that disimilar from his final build in Under the Red Hood. And canonically only a few months has past. So Jason can't be older than 16-17 during the events of this movie. I just.. I know boys have gone through their growth spurts like a truck hitting them at 120mph from a skyscraper but DAMN.

This brings us to Under the Red Hood. Now knowing what we know now Jason must be in the ballpark of 18-19 years old when all of this movie happens. And I just find it shocking.
Jason's official stats at this time are that he's 6'0 and 225lbs. Jason's an intimidating dude. And that makes him only slightly leaner than freaking Bruce. And it just boggles my mind. I cannot see it. Like my mind can't comprehend that all of this was done by some 18 year old.

I guess it's me ranting about artistic licensing. I mean shit in RHATO's Jason's at a bar in Colorado drinking a beer. Granted I know it's confirmed that Jason had spent time with the All-Caste and gained his magical abilities through them when he was 19 or so I think?
We also know that Rocafort's run as artist for RHATO followed after the events of UTRH. So it makes sense that Jason is 21 or at the very least 20. (Yes I know Jason is drinking underaged if he's 20 but this kid singlehandedly brought the Gotham crime scene to it's knees in a matter of weeks. Obtaining a good fake ID is a cakewalk)

But then we get to Rebirth Jason (Dexter Soy) and he looks almost younger? And I know Rebirth is AFTER Rocafort's run. So must be realistic to think that Jason is at least 21-22 Physically at this point? I don't even..
Also because of the Lazarus Pit isn't Jason also supposed to age slower? As well as getting some type of healing factor???!?
Look. If someone who can actually keep a track on how would this man is please tell me. I'm really confused and trying to write a good age for Jason is a pain in my ass.

Unit Viability Speculation - Victor
God, I've been waiting for this since I saw his kit, I'm so excited.
Victor sucks!
Oh, I'm sorry, I should've specified: I don't care about Victor, and actively want the worst for him since he became Reddit's incel poster child for whining about female protagonists getting all the attention over more deserving men.
Victor is a physical Grass-type striker. Â His main move is Drum Beating, a 4-bar move with perfect accuracy and a speed debuff for some reason, yielding a damage penalty that puts him at 160 base. Â For comparison, SC Rosa, out now, is 185 at base because of the accuracy limitation she doesn't have, and still gets -2 special defense to massively improve her damage every hit. Â Point 1 for SC Rosa, but don't worry, there will be others.
He gets Dire Hit+, and his trainer move is +6 attack with free move next and physical moves up next +1. Â Meaning he's a three-turn setup guy, compared to Rosa's effective 1. Â Score 2 for Rosa.
His secondary move is High Horsepower. Â It is just damage. Â It's also worth noting his attack isn't even that great compared to more recent fare. So frankly, you will never use his Ground-type damage after Cynthia's grid expansion, Maxie's rerun, Courtney's Zone, or even Naomi being free or Hapu's EX. Â Meanwhile, Rosa got Sweet Scent to debuff evasion -2 for rare multipliers and general accuracy, and essentially Team Sharp Entry on trainer move. Score 3 for Rosa.
I'm going to take a moment from dunking on Victor to talk about his merits. Namely, Targets Maxed, and Piercing Blows. Â Yeah, he got Piercing Blows. Because that's normal. Â Targets Maxed makes his Max Move AoE, which is nice but not super crazy? Â At least not to me. It feels more like an SS Ethan-ism, where it removes the need to ever EX him because the AoE sync doesnât matter due to his other tools.
His grid offers some fun tools. Â Overwhelm 9 is a nice attack debuff every move, High Horsepower has Bogo 9 so he can dual strike. Twofer 2 is okay but inconsistent, and Rejuvenate 6 is useless. Â Hunter's Instinct is good with his debuff, and of course the sync multiplier is the notorious Cakewalk. Â What is nice is Critical Eye on his trainer move, easing setup by a turn, but at this point it should be clear what Victor does. Â He supplements. Â He is bonus damage that attempts to be as limited on gauge use as possible. Â And just like SC Sonia, I don't think it works in his favor. Â Victor's slow, and his attacking moves are high-gauge cost. Â High Horsepower gets completely free actions after the first, but Drum Beating runs a dangerous risk of being unavailable in a dual-strike comp, making him...kind of a problem in those capacities.
And then there's the true nail.  Everything about his kit relies on speed debuffs. His multipliers in every angle are about speed debuffs, which are useless.  They almost never delay the foe's attacks, and exist solely for multipliers.  They're hard to set up because almost every user of speed debuff is single-target one stage at a time, making it rough in 3v3 content.  His Max Move doesn't even set Grassy Terrain, so there goes the one interesting point of utility he could have had, thanks to Gigantamax being worse.  He makes up for it with Max Move AoE damage, but by now you know where I'm going with this.
Rosa's infinitely better than this guy. Â Her multipliers are easier to set up just by herself, and the team utility she provides is off the charts good, to say nothing of her absurd sync nuke. Â Victor cannot compete with SC Rosa. He's weaker by attack and by sync, his team support is nonexistent, his debuffs are both slower and worse, and his gauge control is worse because you're constantly praying for 30% rolls to always go in your favor.
Also sorry, it just connected that some of Victor's skills are 4/5 and 5/5 locked. Those are High Horsepower BOGO 9, so there goes any utility in Ground, Overwhelm 9 so there goes his debuff utility, Max Damage Guard so there goes some extra tanking, and Max Slip Up for -2 speed that could've made his access to sync nuke reasonable. Â Unlike Wally, Victor actually loses some of his best traits to this.
This is the most skippable PokeFair in ages. Â A character I don't care about, with a Pokemon I'm not as invested in, and a performance that is nothing short of middling. Â
