platoria or demelurina for the ship bingo? ^_^
ILL DO THEM BOTH 4 U :DDD HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Platoria!! 🤍🎀🌹🩰
Tumblr media
Good lord do they drive me fucking insane. Plato is a gorgeous gorgeous deer boy cat with eyeliner and pretty hair for days and Vicci is the jellicle moon the stars the universe the baby ballerina of all timeee. The original ‘she’s everything. He’s just Ken.’ Daphne and Fred. Mrs. Piggy and Kermit. I promise I’m not trying to be pretentious or anything but these two are like if Romeo and Juliet wasn’t tragedy. If they were doomed and there wasn’t an age gap. Platoria is that. To me. And also holyyyy shit they’re both gorgeoussss. Truly the best to ever do it. No notes. 10/10.
Deme and Bomba are under the cut :)
Demelurina!! ♥️🧡💋🍷
Tumblr media
RAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH THEY MAKE ME CRAZY!!!!!! Not in the same way as Platoria but like….different. Their personalities are so different but they love each other so much….i love it when they go crazy during Macavity or completely body the harmonies in Grizabella the Glamour cat. Gillian Lynne has a vision, and I see and understand and want to eat the vision. Their shared trauma with Macavity makes their dynamic really interesting, because Demeter was clearly the one more hurt by the whole ordeal, so the way they parallel and contrast each other during the song is ACTUALLY insane. When I sing Macavity for fun, there’s always a very noticeable difference between the tones, and the way the two of them ebb and flow with their voices. Actual ear candy. Stunning.
Revivals need to get SO MUCH MORE INTENSE AND INTIMATE WITH THE CHOREO. I’d never thought I’d say that about fictional characters, but PLEASE let them interact more. This is a DUET!!!! LET THEM TOUCH EACH OTHER AND ACKNOWLEDGE THE OTHER ON THE STAGE!!!!
Anyhow I love them so so much and they’re beautiful and great. Bomba baby, Demeter honey, I love you both <33333

Shows and Movies I recomend watching at least once.
Movies:
The Invitation- I went into this movie knowing nothing except for there are vampires. But think of it as is Bram Stoker’s Dracula had a child with Ready or Not and Get Out. It’s such a good movie.
Bullet Train- I went into this movie knowing nothing, absolutuly nothing. It is seriously the best movie of this year. It’s funny and whitty. I mean putting a Percy the train Sticker on Logan Lerman, The white girl tears from Joey King, The fucking twins??? Cowardice Brad Pitt. Serously. Not to mention the foreshadowing is A1. And the breaking news in the very first scene. My only issue with it is the Romeo and Juilete death. but this is my new comfort movie.
Gunpowder Milkshakes- this one came out last year, and it feels kinda Lemony Snickety but for adults, Karen Gillian is in it and i will literally watch anything she is in because I love her, but biasis aside its a good fucking movie. Its another assassins movie but it features badass women. Definatly a movie to see if any one is a misogynist. Its also a feel good movie, and funny i watched it last night and have not stopped thinking about it.
Glass Onion- I think we all knew this was coming but its a good movie and i hope we do get more of Benoit Blanc. I dont feel the need to explain this one i think everyone has seen it.
Shows:
The Sandman- Highly recomend!!! Please please please dont let netflix cancel it, It is very comic book accurate (despite some costumes, time period, and the change of John Constintine to Joanna) and Joanna is still queer!!! its my biggest fear that this will be its down fall. its so fucking good though. Its been renewed for a second season and i cannot wait.
Alice in Borderland- admittly i havent read the webcomic this is based on, but i still really enjoyed it. Season two came out a few days ago and i could not stop watching!!!
Inside Man- David Tennet as a Vicar, Stanley Tucci what more could you ask for? more than six episodes thats for sure.
All of us are Dead- Im not a zombie fan, but this show was so good it put me in a mood to watch a bunch of KDrama zombie stuff. It focuses on like survial tips like Zombie Land but in a serious way and not a funny way.
I realize these are all pretty basic but I just loved consuming them so much. And if you haven’t seen any of these I serisouly recommend you watch them at least once.

In a modern AU setting, who are Jaime & Cersei favorite historical figures and authors ?
Oh, I firmly believe Cersei would have a certain passion for queens who have met a tragic end such as Marie-Antoinette, Anne Boleyn or Cleopatra. She would read a lot about them starting from her teenage years. Jaime would be passionate about the Arthurian legends from a young age. King Arthur and the knights of the Round Table? His thing. Also, he would have a soft spot for ancient Egypt because kings and queens married brothers and sisters back then.
As for authors, Cersei would absolutely love Gillian Flynn. Gone Girl? Sharp Objects? She would consume them in one setting, and she would wait impatiently for the release of her new book. She would also read classics, and mostly Shakespeare. Speaking of Shakespeare, Jaime would love Romeo and Juliet, but he doesn't really have a favorite author because he isn't that much into books and reading, let's be real. Cersei would tell him a summary of the book she is currently reading, and that would be enough for him.

What is your favorite ballet?
Thank you for this question! By the way, I wrote a small essay on this topic so be prepared.
You're going to have to forgive me for being basic, but I love Swan Lake. Swan Lake was the first ballet I ever saw and I remember just being mesmerized by it. The story is so grand and epic in a way that feels so unique to it.
Also, I forced a bunch of my non-dancer friends to go to a performance a year ago and watching them get invested in the story (one of my friends told me that Act III was the most stressful experience in his life) was so special.
I've seen many performances of it and my favorite overall performance is one I saw from La Scala Theatre Ballet at Teatro alla Scala. La Scala tends to produce my favorite performances of ballets in general. That said, the best Odette/Odile is Gillian Murphy. No one comes close. There a performance of her as Odette/Odile on YouTube. She just has that passionate gentleness as Odette and a seductiveness, but also a sinister aspect to her as Odile. I love how she brings out that aspect of Odette that despite her meekness and unfortunate circumstances, Odette dares to dream dangerously. And Odile is just this evil bitch and she loves it. And I love it. I love how Gillian's Odile makes no real effort to try and be Odette, but we're so entranced by her that we don't even care. She does to us what she does to Siegfried, "Who needs her, when you have me?"
If Swan Lake did not exist, then this would get much harder. Giselle is just beautiful, the music in Sleeping Beauty is some of the best, and Romeo and Juliet is a classic story that works so perfectly as a ballet. I feel like La Syphilde is one I come back to a lot and I consider it a favorite of mine. However as I'm writing this, I'm feeling particularly fond of Anna Karenina. It's so soulful and it's just a joy to watch and to dance. It is certainly sensual and dramatic.
There are tons of more ballets I could talk about because I just love the artform. I've been a dancer for my entire life and I don't think I could ever stop.

2, 11, and 12 please! c:
2. top 5 books of all time? in no particular order: the haunting of hill house by shirley jackson sharp objects by gillian flynn trash by dorothy allison his dark materials trilogy by philip pullman in the dream house by carmen maria machado honorable mention: morvern callar by alan warner. it's not in my top 5 because i wouldn't recommend it to anyone, but it's a book that sits very close to my heart.
11. what nonfiction books do you like if any? i'll read pretty much any history book or biography as long as it's well-written and by a relatively credible author. i've also gotten really into memoirs recently; my favorite is probably naked in the promised land by lillian faderman.
12. did you enjoy any compulsory high school readings? yes! notably: the color purple, the handmaid's tale, romeo & juliet, macbeth, to kill a mockingbird, and a rose for emily.

Groene Ster-speler Goelaman in eindselectie Suriname
Tumblr media

I have a question. Do you sometimes read theatre plays ? Like reading them in a book, with the dialogues and all ? I’ve done this with Macbeth and Romeo and Juliet and while I understood the stories I kinda had a hard time projecting 😭 I’ll try again with Streetcar named Desire.
Not often! I have read a few plays, like Streetcar Named Desire. And I read the play version of A Doll's House. The one Gillian was in. It really isn't the same as seeing it, is it? It's just different than reading a novel. I hope you'll have more luck with Streetcar. That one's quite good.

I'd love to know your answers to 6, 12, 14 and 20 for the book ask! <3
book asks!
6. what books have you read in the last month?
men who hate women by laura bates (which i loved), lapvona by ottessa moshfegh (which i hated), crying in h mart by michelle zauner (which i loved), and i’m currently reading desperate characters by paula fox (which i’m enjoying so far)
12. did you enjoy any compulsory high school readings?
i enjoyed soo many of the books i read in school. according to my goodreads shelf dedicated to school readings, i read 39 books for school—a selection of shakespeare’s stuff (love’s labour’s lost, othello, much ado about nothing, antony and cleopatra, macbeth, romeo & juliet, and twelfth night in particular), frankenstein by mary shelley, the bell jar by sylvia plath, a streetcar named desire by tennessee williams, and the crucible by arthur miller were some particular standouts for me.
14. do you ever mark/dog ear books you own?
i annotate the absolute hell out of my books. i don’t dog ear books, only because i hate seeing the gap between pages when it’s closed, but i absolutely wreck my books—i break the spines, write in the margins, highlight lines, use post-its to write notes, tab pages, absolutely everything. specifically my copies for gone girl and sharp objects by gillian flynn, pride & prejudice by jane austen, and if we were villains by m.l. rio are so heavily annotated that i can’t lend them out to anyone because i discuss spoilers everywhere and the pages are so covered in post-its that they have to be moved in order to read the book.
20. what are things you look for in a book?
characters!!! characters are by far the most important thing in a story to me, then writing. plot comes third only because i tend to read books that are essentially plotless, but characters with depth and personality are the most important aspect.
